How do I force windows to ask for credentials whenever I connect to a share or whenever I access a share folder?

Please test on other computer.

Mapped GID is changing while accessing CIFS share

Hi guys
We're seening a strange issue on our AD-bound macs that the mapped GIDs of files on a CIFS share are changing without any change on the filesystem.
First of all let me explain our setup:
1. All macs are joined to our active directory domain. The output of "dsconfigad -show" for the uid/gid mapping looks as follows:

2. Macs access a cifs share on a netapp filer.
3. Username and groupnames are mapped correctly. The output of "id rth" for my user looks as follows:

Problem:
When I mount the netapp CIFS share and enter it, everything looks good:

It seems that the mapping doesn't work anymore even tough nothing has changed in the meantime. The same behaviour can be seen on any folders on this share. With the first ls everything seems to be OK and with the 2nd execution the mapping is not correct anymore.
From time to time it happens, that the mapping is correct again for single files or folders for a short period of time.
Has anyone seen a similar behaviour so far?

Sounds like an issue that has to do with JavaScript Origin policy. You'll have to use Domain Relaxing for this. Read all about it here:

Hi,
As per the error logs it seems you have the Form element twice in your web config file. Just take one or the other one out. if you did any changes in web. config file please share and elaborate little more about the changes if you have made recently before

Non-Domain Computers No Longer Access Domain Shares

Hey All,
I have a few Windows 2003 servers running AD on a domain.
I have some users who have AD accounts on the domain but have been accessing from computers (PC and MAC) that are not on the domain. They would simply connect \\servername\share. They would get the prompt to authenticate...They would enter their
Domain AD Credentials and access the share.
Now they are unable to access the share with their credentials. Unless I login with the administrative account. They can access the share from a computer that IS on the domain though with their credentials. This problem only appears to
happen on the file servers. Any credential can authenticate on the DCs regardless of whether their computer is on the domain or not. I'm a little stumped here and would really appreciate any help.

Asking ECC System Credentials while Displaying Employee Photo in CODService

Hello All,
Currently we are having requirement like , need to display the employee Photo from Portal.
Already all the Employee Photos are Uplaoded in the backend, i can able to see employee photos on Hearder in PA30.
While Displaying the Employee Photo from the Portal using COD Service, it asking the ECC System Credentails.
What Configuration steps need to follow to display the Employee Photo in CHange Own Data Service from the Portal with out asking the backend system Credentails..
Plz Share some inputs to fix the issue..

If i enter the Personal No: in PA30, i am able to see the EMployee Photos on the Header..
But While accessing the COD Service from the Portal, asking ECC system credentials to display the photo.. If i am providing the Credenials Employee Photo is displaying .. other wise Blank Image Displaying...
Siddarth suggested its due to SSO problem, if its sso issue, how come i login into portal without any errors currently we are using ABAP UME both Portal and ECC Login details r same...
Please Suggest me how to fix the issue...

Access Denied trying to access file shares with correct credentials

I am getting the Access Denied message when trying to connect to network shares from Windows 10 (9926)
When trying to access a network share, I get the username and password prompt, and it always fails.
Using the same credentials on a Windows 8.1 machine to connect to the same shares and it will work.
Shares can be hosted on Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1, Linux Samba, NAS, or even \\127.0.0.1 and all will fail with the same message.
But you can access the shares hosted on the the windows 10 machine from other remote machines.
Credentials have been entered in the format of: domain\username,
machinename\username, and just username
All machines are on the same workgroup\domain
NOTE: Typing in an invalid machine name will also bring up the credential prompt.
I.e. entering \\QWERTY will still ask you for your username and password and fail immediately.
The same shares worked in the version before 9926

I have the same problem, and I figured out that my windows is installed in french, and every users groups are created in french also, groups like Everyone don't exists and i can't change by console.

Error while accessing Sales-force adapter response variable

Using salesforce adapter we are creating an account. Based on the response planning to proceed the next flow. But while accessing success variable in the salesforce response. we are getting following exception:
The <from> value is invalid. The result of from-spec is null. Either the from node value or the xpath query in the from node value was invalid. According to BPEL4WS spec 1.1 section 14.3, the from node value should not be empty. Verify the from node value at line number 104 in the BPEL source.
But in flow trace(Audit trail) we are able to see response.

Can't access Network share from Windows 8 computer

I have a clean install of Windows 8 x64 running in a workgroup environment. I can access multiple computer/NAS shares except one share off a partifular NAS. This share is accessible from other computers and the other shares on the NAS are accessible from
this Windows 8 computer. I have cheked the credentials and they are fine, added them under the credential manager, tried to map a drive and selected use other credentials etc but it continually says "Windows cannot access \\ComputerName\ShareName"
you do not have permission. I have permission and nothing is wrong with the permissions or the server. This is driving me crazy if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
I have tried:
1. Mapping drive with ip address e.g. \\ip address\sharename
2. disabled ipv6, made sure netbios enabled, made sure client for ms networks enabled.
3. Setup a new account on server, doesn't work either.
4. All sharing options enabled. I even modified the permissions on the share for "everyone" full access and it still didn't work.
Has to be something with this windows 8 machine.

Safari keeps asking for Keychain Access

Everytime I use Safari after some time it asks for Keychain access. I disabled the autofill forms feature already, but it does not stop asking. Does anybody know how to keep Safari from doing this without disabling the password protection of my keychain?
Honestly said, this erraneous behaviour keeps me from using Safari as Firefox does not make such strange attempts to use Keychain.

I didn't think before reading this discussion to be related, but now I tend to believe it may be. I've recently started using Papers.app and to get access to some publications under institutional subscription I have to configure both Papers.app and Safari to be authenticated connecting to Internet through my institution's proxy. The problem is that now the keychain access manager keeps asking authorization every now and then what really has become a heavy nuisance, not only occurring while a keep Safari open, but also while using any other application which try to connect to the Internet such as iTunes or Fission.app. Before I started using Papers.app I had devoted one browser to download articles nder subscription in order to limit such nuisance to the time I was browsing them. However, using Papers.app I've been forced to configure Safari to that purposes, reproducing the annoying effects every time I open any application which are connecting to the Internet. I posted a message in the Papers.app but nobody has replied so far. I thought of changing the browser used by Papers.app would help, unfortunately, I couldn't find any way to get so. Now that it seems there is a way to prevent the system from asking for keychain access, it may fix the problem. This is the message I posted in Papers' Support Forum. I'd really appreciate any help or suggestion:

I am at the University of Barcelona (UB), Spain, we also have an automatic proxy-cache configuration URL (like johnraekwon at the U of Manchester)

Every time I open the browser I've configured to connect through your University proxy, I get a drop down menu to authenticate with and then I proceed to the URL I head to, only now with UB credentials. More or less like johnraekwon has to do.
Unfortunately this aunthentication doesn't last for long, you are often requested to authenticate again and again. This nuisance made me decide to devote a browser different from the default browser to download articles, and it's being working rather satifactorily while I only used that browser to download papers from the Internet.
Now that I tried configuring Papers.app to download those articles which requiring subscription I've found that it only works as long as Safari is configured in the same way, that is, it has to authenticated by the proxy to get access to the Internet. I wouldn't mind using Safari exclusively to browse papers. The problem is that most other applications are also using Safari as default browser and it doesn't seem it can be changed, among them iTunes, which I usually open to download podcasts. Since I've configured Safari to get access through my institution's proxy, it keeps asking me to authenticate, and halting every task in process by doing so.
For most purposes I don't need to get authorized access, so I wish my default browser not being configured in such a painful manner.
I'd like to know whether I can change some of Papers.app options to replace Safari as default browser by, I say, Firefox, therefore limiting those repetitive authentications to just the time I'm browsing papers. It let Safari idle to be configured as a default browser to smoothly work for other purposes such as iTunes.

When i check in this path SecStore.properties is there , also i have checked the permissions .....................please revert the reason of this error .
Main part of this all is that after taking a reboot everything becomes fine , this happens every few days .

Hi,
This error crops up when the the folder usr/sap folder sharing is lost . We have recently faced this problem this is Windows OS level problem you can ask your OS admin. Applying a security patch will do.

Whenever I try to login from a windows XP machine, access is always denies. How can I set up permissions for anyone to access the share?

Ok, did you look at that page I recommended? It gives you the steps.
You don't have to create the file, just do, if the windows user is john, and has a password on the MS box of 1234
smbpasswd -a john
It'll ask for his password, type in 1234, it'll ask for confirmation and type it in again.
On the MS box, user john might have to log off and logon.
However, again, I recommend taking a look at that page, trying the nbtstat and such. Actually, I hadn't realized how dated that page is, I have to redo it, but the tips there should still be useful.

Random error accessing CIFS shares from Windows

I am setting up some CIFS shares to be used from Windows clients and in the process I had some random problems accessing the shares.
In hope of finding the answer I checked the CIFS Service and the Active Directory Service, and while watching the screen for Active Directory Service I saw that the "Selected Domain Controller" changed from one to another. I now stayed within this screen and noticed that the "Selected Domain Controller" continued to change and then I found the problem, because an unknown Domain Controller appeared. The IP was 216.150.17.8
I found that when ever this Domain Controller was the selected one, all access to CIFS shares from Windows clients failed! This is correct, because the 216.150.17.8 of course is unaware of all users in Our Domain
So the Questions are:
- what is happening?
- and how to solve this?

I now have found out why the DC changes - it is because the CIFS service is restarting ;-(

It seems to happen when I access the share and thereby force a uservalidation

Error while accessing menus in Runtime workbench from SLD

Hi I am getting following error while accessing menus in runtime workbench from SLD.( example: SLD->runtime workbench->component monitorung ->display)
"Error during communication with System Landscape Directory: User credentials are invalid or user is denied access "
I am using PISUPER to login to SLD and i am able to login to XI using this ID. I could find role -SAP_XI_RWB_SERV_USER - also in the user id profile of PISUPER.

Check if the roles are generated. Or ask your basis team to check.
IF the roles are generated then you have to check if exchange profile if the right username is mentioned or not. IF username is right then reenter the password.
Check the following parameter in exchange profile.
com.sap.aii.rwb.serviceuser.name
com.sap.aii.rwb.serviceuser.pwd
