Restart the computer from Apple menu.
When restart dialog box appears, uncheck the box beside
"Reopen windows when logging back in".

Why should Apple fix the problem? Maybe you should consider NOT upgrading if an expensive piece of (obsolete) software you're running won't work with it...

If you bought your subscription direct from Adobe, you should not need any codes, only your Adobe ID and password
-Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work

I am considering installing AirPort Extreme at our office. We don't want guests connecting to our network. is there any option/software that will force the guest to enter an ID and password to connect to our network ? This is similar to what happens at the hotels when we try to connect to hotel's network.

The AirPort Extreme does not have the features necessary to create a "splash page" that provides basic information about the company and asks users for their identity and password....like you see at most hotels.
Basically, with an AirPort Extreme, users would have to scan to look for the name of the wireless network to join, and then enter the password to connect.
The best that you might be able to achieve with the AirPort Extreme is create a "hidden" network, which would require that users know both the name of the wireless network and password to connect. However, based on experience, this might be more of a hassle than anything else.
The bottom line.....Apple really designed the AirPort routers for home use, so that might be the best place for them in most cases.

23 GB of other indicates a corrupt file(s). A restore should resolve.

To do the NVRAM reset (be quick with Step 4, "immediately" is literal!):
1. Power down the machine.
2. Locate the following keys on your keyboard in preparation for Step 4:
‘command’ – ‘option’ – ‘P’ – ‘R’
3. Press the ‘power on’ button.
4. Immediately – and before the grey screen appears – hold down ‘command-option-P-R’ all together.
5. Keep them held down until you’ve heard the start-up chime twice. After you release them you should hear it again, and hopefully your Mac will boot up as it should.

I've heard that there are some Ipod adapters out that will work with this trick but it would be nice if anyone knew a way to make this adapter work. I think it is a popular trick since the adapter from oakley that does work is now on back order.

ITunes erased my library to force me to subscribe to Cloud, and Cloud wiped out my iPad twice. Anyone w/same prob?

iTunes took back my entire library to force me to subscribe to Cloud, but now it will not re-download all of my purchases, and the Cloud also seems to want to wipe my iPad (has done it twice). 2 hours on the phone with Apple no help. Anyone w/same prob?

I guess I should have been more clear. One morning (5 days ago now) we realized that our complete itunes library was gone--all media (music, shows, movies, podcasts) was gone and could not be located on our hard drive. When I went onto itunes under the "help" section there was a comment that you could upgrade your itunes to Cloud and then access all your purchases and either re-download them or play them from the itunes page. So, I upgraded itunes and went about accessing all my purchases(thousands of dollars worth of media--so you can imagine my stress). Meanwhile, my husband was at work with his ipad and realized that everything was gone--all his apps, music, even apps for work that were downloaded at his work. Completely gone. I told him that I had found everything on Cloud and that he could probably just re-download everything when he got home but we both agreed it was weird. When he got home he noted that only about 1/3rd of our purchases were available on the Cloud website--all of my son's shows were still not there and many albums that we had bought over the last year were still missing. My husband called Apple yesterday and spent two hours on the phone with them. He said it was all very mysterious as they would not admit or deny anything and he said that he spoke with several people that were very ambiguous about what had happened and were careful about what they said. They agreed to re-release to us all of the media that we could not access on Cloud, but that they could not provide us with media that had copyright expired. They basically said it was our fault for not backing everything up on a separate system. While we explained that we do have a back up hard drive, we don't back up every time we make a purchase--so we haven't done so for several months. Then, this morning my husband was on his ipad and a message popped up that froze the ipad and it said that he needed to sync into itunes. He did so and then when he went back to unplug to go to work he realized everything was gone again! All his apps, music, everything. Trying to use labview to analyse analog data from a jump on a force plate and measure peak force (at two points, initial land and 2nd land from jump). Also need to mark the time of flight (time off plate).

Attached is a file of 3 trials of a drop vertical jump activity onto a force plate. the subject stands on a platform off the force plate, jumps onto the force place and immediately jumps up as if going for a rebound. I am able to run this data and obtain a waveform graph with no problems. however, I need to be able to find the initial contact with the force palte, the peak of the drop, the intial time off the force plate (prior to the jump), the return from the jump and finally the second peak (landing from the jump).
I want to calculate the time of flight ( time off the plate and in the air after the intial drop) to calculate juimp height.
I had someone write me a mathscript for it and it works well, however, I need to do it without mathscript as I do not understand mathscript (nor Labview!!).

OK, but I'm not understanding what you're asking us to do... Are you asking us to explain what the MathScript code is doing? (It's searching the array for the elements when the values are above or below a threshold.) Are you asking someone to convert the whole MathScript code to LabVIEW (we are not a code-writing service), or you just want to be able to calculate the new stuff you want with LabVIEW?
In the future, please do not post proprietary file formats. Most people do not have Word, or Word 2007 for that matter. Please post text files or PDFs. Thanks.

My iMovie doesn't work. When I open it nothing comes up so I force quit but then it closes, and a message comes up to send to apple. When I try to reopen it, it does the same thing!

Please hep me this is super aggrivating and I have no clue what to do!

Thank you for your question. It sounds like your iMovie window is not appearing when you open the program and force quitting it then reopening it does the same thing. I would recommend these staps in particluar to try from the following article:

1) Verify your software is up to date by running Software Update.
The updates necessary to resolve the issue are those relating to QuickTime, iLife, iMovie and Mac OS X. If any of these updates are available, install the updates. After you install the updates, run Software Update again to verify there are no more updates for that application available.
2) Disable non-essential QuickTime components.
Navigate to /Library/QuickTime/ for a list of components currently installed.
Temporarily disable any components that are not in the list below. You can disable the components by moving them to the Desktop or another folder outside of the /Library/QuickTime/ folder.
Open iMovie and see if the issue is resolved. If iMovie no longer unexpectedly quits, check to see if an updated component is available, or contact the developer of the component for further recommendations.
iMovie uses the following components, and should be left in the QuickTime folder:
AppleIntermediateCodec.component
AppleMPEG2Codec.component
Note: There may also be a similar folder at ~/Library/QuickTime/ depending on the components you have installed. If this folder is available on your Mac, remove any components as instructed in step 2. Both of these locations hold QuickTime components. The components help you encode or decode different types of multimedia content.
5) Run Apple Hardware Test and Disk Utility
If you are experiencing unexpected behavior in other applications, check your hardware by using Apple Hardware Test. You can also test your hard disks using the Verify and Repair functions of Disk Utility.

What is the best way to create an MP4 (.M4V) that will play with forced subtitles in iTunes, Apple TV, and all iOS devices?

I've begun ripping my blu rays to digital format so I can store them on my NAS and access them from any device. Movies without subtitles work great, I simply use MP4 passthrough and all is well. I'm having issues with videos that have forced subtitles. I'm assuming I need to mux the video, audo and subtitle streams into an .M4V. I'm not sure how to do this. What format must the subtitle be in? SRT, AAS? Will Subler work?
My intention is that have the subtitles show no matter what. I don't want to fiddle with enabling them and disabling them. I want to watch the movie in itunes or an iOS device and have the subtitles show up without doing anything.

We cannot help you on this board. What you ask is illegal to do in the United States. As Lyssa says, "You will have to search elsewhere for help." However, purchasing the movies from the iTunes Store is a legal option.

Is there a way to force applications to use window opening (and closing) animations?

I'm not a big fan of the fact that most of the time, when windows open, they don't display any sort of animation, and pretty much nothing has a closing animation.
Is there any way to force all apps to use some sort of animations, and also, is there a way to enable window closing animations?
It just kind of bothers me, probably because of that fact that I just abandoned Windows 8 for OS X.

Those are left and right double curly quotes.
Yes, you have to hit each instance, but it will be click-to-continue except on mismatch.
