Forced to Restore but now has problem syncing

Last night I loaded some new music onto my ipod - I don't recall getting an option to update anything else, but perhaps it was there.
Anyway, this morning my ipod suddenly stopped working [5G video] so I did the normal reset on it. The screen then said it needed to be restored in itunes. Did what it suggested and after 2 attempts it did get restored to factory settings. I then chose to sync it, and it only did a partial sync. Did it again and some more got added. And again, and again. Still not all loaded. seems to always do some then comes up saying disk could not be reached. Am I about to have my ipod die?

If you're getting a "Disk cannot be read from or written to" error message when you try syncing your iPod, try the advice from this article abotu that issue:
"Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod
Also, have you tried each of these five steps a few times?:

Thanks for the help. The restore seems to have solved the problem. I had a bit of a panic attack when things started going haywire and the Apple 'Support' told me to call back during business hours!

I updated to ios5 on another computer because i was stuck on the recovery mode loop but now the problem is that when i try sync to my current one iphone does not show up or sync at all.. any ideas? gonna try uninstall right now..

There is no way to consolidate iTunes accounts.
Setting up an iPhone has never required creation of a new Apple ID.
You've apparently purchased content with both Apple ID's. Sign into the device with the correct Apple ID and sync the content.

Ipad suddenly runs only in a low resolution. Did an itunes restore, but still same problem.

Ipad2 is stuck in a low resolution, icons are large, can't see normal screens. I shut down and restarted the ipad but did not help. Did an itunes Restore, but still same problem. It's like the resolution is now stuck at a high resolution. Anyone seen this problem?

Yes, I just discovered it before getting your reply. Evidently I 3-fingered the screen without knowing it.
I thought I had corrected my "low/high" error, but guess not. ( my first try at posting).

Type "Apple Mobile Device service " into the search bar at the top of this page by "Support"

yes did you buy it of somebody or a well known company such as apple or carphone warehouse?
and i mean the phone would have been activated in the first place with the sim card you get given when you first get the phone.
trying to activate the phone with another sim card that you did not get when you brought the phone may result in you not being able to activate it

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Ipod 2nd Gen in Restore Mode - Restored but now stuck on Apple Screen

I have been having problems restoring my second gen ipod and was getting error code 9 all the time. Today after much perserverence I have managed to get the ipod to restore to factory settings, I had not loaded anything new on to it but tested the Itunes Store and sampled a random check to make sure it was working. I then backed out of the Store and the Ipod went into restart mode and is now permanently stuck in this state. I have tried doing a reset using the ON/OFF/SLEEP button and HOME buttons but that has no effect in turning the ipod off - it turns off the display then just goes back to the Apple logo. Can anyone give me any advice as to what I can do next (apparently its out of support!)

Ios4.01 iPhone 4 forced to restore. Now stuck

I tried to update my iPhone 4 to 4.01. I synced phone first to create a solid backup as I have for all software updates on all previous gen iPhones. I downloaded the new iTunes update. Started the update and it was going smoothly. Then froze. I check and iTunes had a (not responding) message. So I had to restart and it forced the phone into restore. Have made three attempts. Talked to apple and the guy had no clue what else to do. Appt at genius tomorrow. Any other suggestions?

I had the exact same problem as you an hour later, around 10:45 EST - called tech support and they couldn't help - told me to disconnect and attempt a restore - but kept on getting stuck in what looks like the same place as you. I think it had something to do with the new version of iTunes released today, though I'm not sure. What finally worked for me was restarting my computer (I had not done that after updating iTunes) and deleting the iphone update from my computer and re-downloading it. I had attempted the update, which downloaded the update before I restarted my computer.
On a Mac the iphone software is located at:
/users/username/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates/
and you want to delete:
iPhone3,14.0.1_8A306Restore.ipsw
This will cause iTunes to re-download the update when you click restore, and hopefully like me, the install should go smoothly.

I tried to restore my MacBook 2010 but now when I turn the laptop on, I get a white screen with a gray circle that has a line through it. I can't get anything going to restore this computer. Can anyone help?

Use the original Snow leopard installation disk to access Disk Utility>First Aid. Run verify and repair. If the disk cannot be repaired, it will have to be replaced.

Hi guys,
this morning my Iphone 4 came up with a message on the screen saying it needed to be restored, i thought it was strange so i rebooted my phone.
Then it just went to the 'connect to itunes' screen like it was a new phone.
I attempted to restore and failed a couple times, finally it seems to have worked but wont activate?
any ideas would be great!
