Forcing a mandatory portlet on all My Pages

Hi,
We're on version 6.1 and have created a custom portlet that we would like to force as mandatory on our users' My Pages. I tried in staging, and by changing the security of the portlet (adding our all users group and setting it to mandatory) was able to do this. However it puts it just on the Home Page and not on any of the other My Pages that the user has created. Is there a way to get it on every one of our users' My Pages?
Thanks,
Lisa

Mandatory portlets appear only on user's default My Page.
You can add portlets to other My Pages by editing Default User Profile layout (or layout of User Profile that is attached to the authentication source that is used for your portal users). However, that will affect only My Pages of newly created users - My Pages of exisiting users will not change. Of ourse you can always run a script against portal DB to add portlets to My Pages :-)

  • How can I force Firefox to properly format all html pages to a pdf without losing top and right hand margins?

    Setting up page printout format for pdf on a Mac OS/X Snow Leopard Mac Pro. Printer is HP 8500A OfficeJet Pro Plus bought after July 14, 2011 serial number- CN141CK7QM
    When I print to file as a pdf I am getting the first page correctly but subsequent pages are getting clipped along the top and the right margins.
    I don't have this problem with my IBook 4.0
    The issue is formatting an html page to a pdf when the print request is asking for a pdf or when the print request is to the printer.
    The url to my HP Office jet Pro 8500A Plus is:
    mdns://Officejet%20Pro%208500%20A910%20%5B530E4F%5D._pdl-datastream._tcp.local./?bidi
    I have a IBook G4 and I do not have any of this problem.
    I have specified a default paper size of "USLetter".
    This printing issue is a new one that occurred since I started the Firefox updates after Firefox 6.0 series.
    I am checking with HP on this issue. Prior to the HP8500A (installed in July 2011) I did have a HP6180 Officejet for several years without encountering such a conflict.
    So my second question is; Are there Firefox printing conflicts with the HP 8500A printers?

    Joanna,
    It seems that Illy (still) moves in (ever new) mysterious ways.
    I was surprised to see that you got away with your French word, but the hat part must have hidden the first part from the nanny filter. The first part by itself would have become asterisks.

    Thanks for responding....but isn't your potential solution designed for Windows users? I have a Mac.
    If it does apply to Mac, I am also hoping for something simpler as this could take weeks to isolate the problem and it would be more efficient to use another browser for mail
    Also, I should have added, this problem occurs only occasionally and seemingly only when I am taking some time to compose a message

  • Mandatory portlet issue

    Hi,
    I have a requirement in which I need to display 5 portlets as mandatory portlet on home page. I have a template in which there are three regions on my home page. Region 1 & 3 are narrow regions and region 2 is wide.
    I need to add 2 mandatory portlets in region-1 and 3 mandatory portlets in region-3. To achieve this I have set priority for mandatory in portlet security section.
    Below is the details of the priority given to the mandatory portlets:
    Region - 1
    Portlet - 1 : Very High
    Portlet - 2 : Medium
    Region - 2
    Portlet - 1 : High
    Portlet - 2 : Low
    Portlet - 3 : Very Low
    The problem here I am facing is that the Portlet - 3 which I need to be displayed in Region - 3 is coming in Region - 1.
    Please suggest some workaround so that my Portlet - 3 should come in Region - 3.

    OK, so this issue is resolved. However its all very wierd, and I am concerned it may come up again. Anyways the steps were:
    I looked up OSS notes and found one exactly for this scenario: 746396. According to this note, this issue happens with Infotypes with Time Constraint of '3'. So Emergency Address had a TC of 3, and it was understandable that this problem occured. I also tested this with other address subtypes not of TC 3 and they worked fine. When I decided that we had to implement the code changes as part of this note, I saw that this note was applicable only to Release 500, whereas ours is 600. I also compared the code and verified that the code changes suggested in the note were already applied. Just to try, I changed the TC of IT6 ST4 to 2 and then the iView worked fine. I changed the TC back to 3 and expected it to fail, but then the iView continued to work correctly. I tested various scenarios, and everything is working just fine.
    However in the SAP world I hate the unknowns, since they come back again. If anyone has an explaination for this please let me know. Otherwise, for now, the iView is working fine.
    Thanks,
    Nakul

  • How to find a hierarchy of all Itmes Pages inside a Page

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle Portal 10.1.2. Need some information:
    I have a page with Items or it can have both items, sub-pages and further each subpage can have items and/or sub-pages. How can I find all the objects in a hierarchical order. How can I construct my SQL to query the back-end tables that I can query to build a hierarchy for the whatever Page's pageid I provide.
    If given a Page ID need to return all the items, sub-pages and so forth. I am trying to build a Tree structure Menu.
    I have one Top page with tabs and in each tab I am adding one Portlet i.e. a page that is published as Portlet. Now this page which is published as a portlet can only have Items added or can have n number of sub-pages underneath which in-turn can have items and/or sub-pages and so forth, just like a Folder Structure in Windows. As soon as the user clicks a tab want to show all the items/pages in a tree like format.
    Any idea on how can I proceed any help is really appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Setting portlet properties on different pages

    Hello,
    New to Personalization so I apologize if this is obvious.
    Is there a way to have the same portlet available on multiple
    pages and allow a user to set different properties in a profile
    based on the page the portlet is in? For example, if portlet X
    is available on page A and page B and the edit tab allows the
    user to set value Val1 in a property, is there a way to qualify
    the Val1 property with a namespace so that it is associated with
    the page it is on? Currently if I have some properties defined
    in a profile and I set those profile values in an edit page
    and get them in the top portlet, then those same profile values
    will be associated with that portlet on all pages. That is with
    using the um:getProperty tag. Is there some way through roles
    to namespace profile values based on the page the portlet is on?
    Thanks,
    Curt

    Curt,
    Sure you can.
    Just define separate user property sets and store the information based on
    the page the user is on.
    You can easily determine the page id using portal API (for example look at
    the jsp which renders the page tabs in the framework directory).

  • Modifying a template resulted in all child pages with repeating editable regions - Help !

    Good morning,
    I have recently been appointed to update a website designed in Dreamweaver by an employee who is no longer here. I have read books on the software and practiced an insane amount which permitted me to update child pages, links, documents etc... however:
    I was asked to add a new button to an "non-editable" region of a template. Trying to do so resulted in a massive mess (with massive anxiety).
    Even thou the new template had all the same text and editable regions, all my pages look completely different from the template itself. The editable regions appears 2-3 times in different locations ex: Header is showed on the bottom, top etc... and the Editable region titles (EditableRegion1 etc...) repeat themselves as well.
    I really need help and not sure what to do, I have tried everything and I am only making it worse and worse. All I want/need is for all my html pages created with this template, match the template.
    Please note that this site is local, not online.
    Since I noticed on other threads that the code is needed; here it is:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    /* Tips for Elastic layouts
    1. Since the elastic layouts overall sizing is based on the user's default fonts size, they are more unpredictable. Used correctly, they are also more accessible for those that need larger fonts size since the line length remains proportionate.
    2. Sizing of divs in this layout are based on the 100% font size in the body element. If you decrease the text size overall by using a font-size: 80% on the body element or the #container, remember that the entire layout will downsize proportionately. You may want to increase the widths of the various divs to compensate for this.
    3. If font sizing is changed in differing amounts on each div instead of on the overall design (ie: #sidebar1 is given a 70% font size and #mainContent is given an 85% font size), this will proportionately change each of the divs overall size. You may want to adjust based on your final font sizing.
    .twoColElsLtHdr #container {
    width: 46em;  /* this width will create a container that will fit in an 800px browser window if text is left at browser default font sizes */
    background: #FFFFFF;
    margin: 0 auto; /* the auto margins (in conjunction with a width) center the page */
    border: 30px none #C4C4C4;
    text-align: left; /* this overrides the text-align: center on the body element. */
    padding-left: 10px;
    background-color: #FFF;
    border-top-color: #C4C4C4;
    border-right-color: #C4C4C4;
    border-bottom-color: #C4C4C4;

    border-left-style: outset;
    border-top-width: thick;
    border-right-style: outset;
    border-top-style: outset;
    border-left-color: #C4C4C4;
    border-right-width: thick;
    border-bottom-width: thick;
    border-left-width: thick;
    .twoColElsLtHdr #header {
    padding: 0 10px;  /* this padding matches the left alignment of the elements in the divs that appear beneath it. If an image is used in the #header instead of text, you may want to remove the padding. */
    background-color: #FFF;
    .twoColElsLtHdr #header h1 {
    margin: 0; /* zeroing the margin of the last element in the #header div will avoid margin collapse - an unexplainable space between divs. If the div has a border around it, this is not necessary as that also avoids the margin collapse */
    padding: 10px 0; /* using padding instead of margin will allow you to keep the element away from the edges of the div */
    /* Tips for sidebar1:
    1. Be aware that if you set a font-size value on this div, the overall width of the div will be adjusted accordingly.
    2. Since we are working in ems, it's best not to use padding on the sidebar itself. It will be added to the width for standards compliant browsers creating an unknown actual width.
    3. Space between the side of the div and the elements within it can be created by placing a left and right margin on those elements as seen in the ".twoColElsLtHdr #sidebar1 p" rule.
    .twoColElsLtHdr #sidebar1 {
    float: left;
    width: 12em; /* the background color will be displayed for the length of the content in the column, but no further */
    padding: 15px 0; /* top and bottom padding create visual space within this div */
    background-color: #066;
    background-repeat: repeat-x;
    border-top-width: thin;
    border-top-style: none;
    border-right-style: none;
    border-bottom-style: none;
    border-left-style: none;
    border-right-width: thin;
    border-bottom-width: thin;
    border-left-width: thin;
    color: #FFF;
    padding-left: 0px;
    clear: left;
    .twoColElsLtHdr #sidebar1 h3, .twoColElsLtHdr #sidebar1 p {
    margin-left: 10px; /* the left and right margin should be given to every element that will be placed in the side columns */
    margin-right: 10px;
    background-color: #066;
    text-decoration: inherit;
    /* Tips for mainContent:
    1. If you give this #mainContent div a font-size value different than the #sidebar1 div, the margins of the #mainContent div will be based on its font-size and the width of the #sidebar1 div will be based on its font-size. You may wish to adjust the values of these divs.
    2. The space between the mainContent and sidebar1 is created with the left margin on the mainContent div.  No matter how much content the sidebar1 div contains, the column space will remain. You can remove this left margin if you want the #mainContent div's text to fill the #sidebar1 space when the content in #sidebar1 ends.
    3. To avoid float drop, you may need to test to determine the approximate maximum image/element size since this layout is based on the user's font sizing combined with the values you set. However, if the user has their browser font size set lower than normal, less space will be available in the #mainContent div than you may see on testing.
    4. In the Internet Explorer Conditional Comment below, the zoom property is used to give the mainContent "hasLayout." This avoids several IE-specific bugs that may occur.
    .twoColElsLtHdr #mainContent {
    margin: 0 1.5em 0 13em; /* the right margin can be given in ems or pixels. It creates the space down the right side of the page. */

    I am not suprised, the previous employee tried to recreate the English version of the site in another folder structure and did not change all links and was still using a template in the wrong location.
    I think I created the mess by trying to modify the existing template's non-editable region in order to add a new button. When trying to update all the pages, the fiasco started.
    Do you think the best option would be to create a new template in the correct folder structure and apply it? Would it fix the current pages or will I have to fix them all manualy on by one?
    I understand it is difficult to deal with a newbie of my magnitude and thanks again.

    Hi,
    I want to search for an employee in a poplist. When I choose one from the poplist I want a report to start that will show all the projects he is working in.
    The above happens but when I put my form as a portlet on a page I want the report to start in another portlet on the same page. Now it opens in a new window and that's not good.
    This is how the link works.
    On the link in the form I have a call 'javascript:runrep()'
    On the form, in the 'Form text' section, in the 'Footer Text' I added the
    code for the runrep function (given below).
    <script>
    function runrep()
    var formObj = document.forms[0];
    var pers_id;
    for (var i=0; i < formObj.length ; i++){
    if (formObj.elements.name == "PERSONAL_SOK.DEFAULT.ID.01"){
    //PERSONAL_SOK is the form name
    pers_id = formObj.elements[i].value;
    break;
    var url="http://linux.ekn.se:7778/pls/portal/ppe_utv.ppe_visa_projektforslag.show?
    //PPE_UTV is the schema_name and PPE_VISA_PROJEKTFORSLAG is the report
    p_arg_names=pers_id&p_arg_values=" + pers_id;
    window.location=url
    </script>
    I guess the url has to have another adress to open on the same page, but what?
    /Jennie

    The post below shows you how to link two reports on the same page. You can probably modify it's solution to achieve what you're trying to do.

  • Is there a way to force enable wmode=direct for all Flash content on all webpages ?

    I need a way to force enable wmode=direct for all Flash content that's running regardless of the webpage the Flash content is runing on.
    If there isn't a way to do so now, please enable this as fast as you can in the next version of Flash.
    I've read somewhere that if there's no wmode setting on the page like opaque, transparent, direct or hw the flash content will run in wmode=window setting so it would be very easy to change that and force Flash to use wmode=direct instead.
    This could be done by adding wmode=direct line to mms.cfg or even add Force wmode=direct to Flash Settings, easy as that.
    I really don't wanna hear the arguments why force enable wmode=direct for all Flash content regardless of webpage is not indicated to do, just do it, I really need this wmode=direct feature to be always on simple as that.
    I know that on some webpages some content might run behind flash content by doing so but I really don't care cause I know what sites I'm using and what Flash content I'm runing so just enable it.
    Waiting for all websites to implement wmode=direct would take ages and I don't have time to waste instead I wanna enable this feature by now since I have seen what a big difference it makes by runing Flash accelerated instead of software decoding.

    You will not get what you need using stamps, especially if you ever want to use dynamic XFA forms.
    The digital signatures that were signed with a self-signed digital ID won't fully validate unless the user chooses to trust the corresponding digital certificate first. You should only trust a digital certificate if you trust its source. The problem is using self-signed IDs will be difficult to use on the scale you're talking about.
    Digital signatures are the best approach for your needs. They can provide both nonrepudiation of document origin as well as document integrity. You just have to figure out how to implement a solution you can afford.
    You agency can become its own certificate authority and issue certificates to its employees. You'd just have to find a way to implement and manage such a system.

  • [CQ newbie] Possible to load and compile all CQ pages in continuous integration?

    I know very little about CQ.
    I'm trying to figure out how we can implement a continuous integration process which would deploy our build to a test server and automatically compile all of the generated pages, and send reports to "last change" authors if there are failures.
    If this was a plain JSP-based application, I know how to do this, because WebLogic gives me the ability to compile all JSPs at deployment time.
    With CQ, I've been told that JSP pages are assembled with the Vault plugin and stored in the repository.  I've seen sample code that can load pages from the repository, but can I use that mechanism to iterate through all the pages in the repository and force them to be loaded, and also get detailed errors if they fail to compile or load?

    I discovered that someone here wrote a "UrlTreeHelper" class that starts from a root node and uses the ResourceResolver and sees if the primary node is "cq:Page", or if it has child nodes.  If the former, it gets the URL path from the node and adds that to a list to return.  If the latter, it recurses through that list. That results in a final list of urls that we can at least do a GET on and verify we get a 200.  If we don't, we at least know something's wrong with that page, even if we don't know what failed.
    They call this from a JSP page, so they can get the ResourceResolver. Is it possible to get the ResourceResolver in plain Java code, so we could call this from something besides a JSP?

  • How do I print just 1 web page in FF 29 ? With 29 you can only change the first field ( 1 of 5, 2 of 5, 3 of 5, etc. ) That means I can only print all 5 pages,

    So I cant seem to print just the 1st of 5 pages. The default setting , 1 of 5, will print all 5 pages. The 2nd field can not be altered, as it could in previous FF versions, to 1 of 1. Therefore, I can only print all 5 pages, 2 through 5, 3 through 5, etc. WTF - I keep wasting print paper. I got the print edit add-on but that doesn't seem to help. I have been through several FF versions and do not like the format of 29.

    Actually, with the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/print-edit/ Print Edit addon], if I click the down arrow I get the old print format options and can do it.

  • When I create a tablet/desktop/phone version of a site, why are all the pages blank?

    Hello, longtime listener/user, first time caller
    I've been using Muse since jumping on the Creative Cloud train a couple years ago, but to date all my experience had been in maintaining and updating a desktop version of a couple small sites.  I loved the idea of Muse being able to assist in the creation of separate desktop/tablet/mobile layouts (ie responsive design), and this past week was my first experience in using it as I worked on a ground-up rebuild of http://www.eridusociety.org.  I started with a Phone layout, with the intention of getting that right and then expanding outward to a tablet version, and once that was finished, adding a desktop layout.
    After completing the mobile site and testing it on Business Catalyst (thanks to all involved in that seamless integration, by the way), I clicked on the +Tablet button and proceeded to build out the tablet layout of the site.  To my dismay, all the pages it built were blank.  I tried deleting and re-doing it with different combinations of the options checked, to no avail.  Then I raced off to the nearest web browser and started searching - surely I missed a step, or the great collective brain of the internet could alert me to some way to achieve this.  Alas, no such luck.
    The blank pages are intentional, and the way to populate those blank pages is to go back to the phone layout, open the page, then copy all the content, then switch back to the tablet layout, open the corresponding page on the tablet layout, and paste in the content from the source layout... and of course, rinse and repeat for the desktop layout as well (though for my workflow, I copied the finished tablet layout pages to create the desktop version).
    For me, starting with all the page elements from the source layout is much easier than starting from scratch on each and every page.  That way I know I have all the elements on the page, and I can add to (or subtract from) as well as modify the layout in fairly short order.  I've been driving myself a little crazy with all the bouncing back and forth between layouts to copy/paste elements as I work on my site, and for future reference I'd like to know if there's some way that can be avoided in the future?
    Ideally, I would like to see an option in the create layout dialog box to be able to copy content (and choose the source layout to copy from).
    Beyond that, another great option for this dialog would be to let me choose to switch all the page links to the new layout.  That is, when it copies and pastes all the page content from source layout, Muse would then also update the links to pages within the site so that they link to that layout's pages.  So when I build a phone version and click +Tablet, I can check a box to copy page content from source, specify that source, and then check another box to update links for layout.  After Muse does its magic, I have a tablet layout that's already got page content on it, and it's linking to other pages on the tablet layout (and not to the source/phone layout pages).
    Thanks to everyone on the Muse team for a pretty great product, and to the people manning the Twitter account for responding to my tweet and directing me here.

    Sanjit, I think one of us is missing the point.  It could be me - is there some way to easily and quickly pop open multiple layouts and pages?  Because for me (running a 12-core Mac Pro with 64GB RAM and FirePro D700 GPU's), Muse lets me switch between one layout view and the next (not open them simultaneously), and takes several seconds to do this every single time.  Opening and closing pages (to create separate tabs/windows) is also incredibly tedious.
    I can appreciate that select and drag works just as well as selecting all and using copy/paste shortcut keys, but that is the least time consuming part of the process.
    Without copying the page contents from the source layout and transpose internal page links to new layout, Muse falls short of the mark of making it really easy to build responsive sites.  It's kind of like trying to take a cab to a destination across town that makes you get out and walk halfway.  No matter quickly or easily the cab made it through town, it still only got you half way there.

  • I am trying to print all the PDF pages in a range of 5 pages but can only print one page at a time . . . It will print the current page, but not all or pages 1-5.  Can this be overcome?

    I am trying to print all the PDF pages in a range of 5 pages but can only print one page at a time . . . It will print the current page only, but not all or pages 1-5.  I need to go to the next subsequent page and command to print current page; continuing with this procedure until all pages are printed one at a time. Can this be overcome?

    You can use printPages(1, 5), however I need to know how you print current page.

  • All the Pages are Printed - Document Printing Sales Orders

    When using the Document Printing option for Sales Orders, if I select multiple documents and select print I get a message after each document that says "All the Pages are Printed", then the next document comes for printing. I also get a prompt each time whether or not to print Sales Order only or Sales Order and Pick List.
    I don't have the same issue if printing Invoices from Document Printing. It asks what to print and prints all records without additional prompts between each record. I don't see anything in Print Preferences that would cause the Order to act differently from the Invoice.
    We are using B1 9.0 PL 06.
