Ford 2007 car kit

Hello,
I have a Ford Focus with the original Ford car kit (Bluetooth, cradle and Voice Control), and have some questions.
1st - intermittently, the phone can't connect with the car kit using BT. The solution is to remove the fuse to reset the system or use the ear set and wait for the system to be back! Is there anything I can do to solve the problem?
2nd - I have a N73 phone and would like to know if there is any way to have the name of the person that is calling me in the radio display instead of the number?
Thank you,
Miguel

Ford issued a tech info regarding connectivity problems with some specific handsets. These include:
No connection, or unstable connection with many handsets: this can be solved with a software update of the Nokia OEM Ford BT system, performed using the Ford diagnostic tools. Please note that the latest firmware is available ONLY for the latest diagnostic system IDS (qualified repair shops will have the right equipment).
No Dialing: this affects mainly numbers beginning with "0". It should not affect numbers stored with the int'l area code (+49...+39...). Can be solved with the software update.
No connection to SonyEricsson SE K800i, Samsing SGH-A990 and Motorola Razr V3
Empty or Missing dialed/received calls list on Nokia N series handsets. Only "last call redial" is available.
Keep in mind that...
_full phonebook access is not possible unless the specific Ford CarKit software is not installed on the phone. This software is not currently available for Symbian S60 3rd edition
_SIM phonebook access is NOT available for most phones. IT IS available for Nokia S40 Platform
_dialed / Received calls log is not supported on most SonyEricsson and RIM Blackberry phones. Phonebook access is also limited to 300 entries.
I'm going to test the update feature as soon as possible on an older unit to see how the unit performs with Nokia N73 handsets.

  • Nokia 6230i Ford Car kit cradle

I have a Ford factory fitted car kit that is part of my dvd touch screen sat nav system. I have a Nokia 6230i and it was recently stolen from my car along with the cradle. I bought a new 6230i and a new cradle from Ford but when I install it in the cradle it says enhancement not supported. The Ford dealer that supplied the cradle have tried several different cradles and have now told me that the one I have is for a 6230 and that Ford do not make one for the 6230i. But my original one worked so they must do! Does anyone have one that works? And if so can they tell me the part number?

Sorry Dannyboy, but that won't work.
You have the correct cradle for the 6230i and it will work even with the newest software released some days ago.(v3.89)
"Enhancement not supported" is an indication for a problem with the ACI-Chip in the car's phone module (Accessory Control Interface-Chip).
So there is a problem in the Nokia handsfree module.
Unfortunately, there is no other possibility than going to your local Ford dealer and letting the "BT/VC" module replace.
This error is known at all Ford hotlines and it should be no problem for your dealer to clarify this.

  • Ford factory fitted Car kit - obselete!

My Car (Ford Focus 21 months old) has a factory fitted Bluetooth car kit with a cradle that provides charging and connection to an external antenna. The cradle (and base unit) is nicely intergrated into the design of the arm rest and central console between the front seats (which is why I specified it). The cradle, which can be replaced, is a Nokia CR-24 designed for a Nokia 6230i. I have a new phone, a Nokia 6233 but I cannot get a replacement cradle (apparently the system is obsolete).
I am currently using a charger which plugs into the cigarette lighter - I would like a tidier solution.
    Can anybody help?
    1. Is there a third party cradle that will fit into the base unit?
    2. Is there an adapter cable that can be plugged into the base unit or the cradle to provide a connection to the 6233 for charging and antenna connection?
    3. Anyone got any other suggestions?

Holder CR-56 is specially designed for the 6233 (http://shop.nokia.co.uk/nokia-uk/product.aspx?sku=3607484&culture=en-GB) and is still available.

  • E51&Voice commands&Ford Car Kit

    Hello everyone,
I just added navigation to my E51. As soon as I enter the car it connects to the inbuilt bluetooth car kit of my 2006 Ford Focus. If I start the navigation, I can't hear any voice commands. If I switch the radio and consequently the bluetooth kit off, I hear them through the phone speaker. I suppose, that they are supposed to be broadcasted through the bluetooth connection which would be great, but it doesn't work. Is there any possibility to change the output device or to support the bluetooth set of the Ford?
    Best regards
    Karsten

have the same problem with my N95 and supertooth have to go in and physically disconnect my bluetooth in tools when i leave the car even if I turn the supertooth off. otherwise cannot send or receive calls. ok when you remember.

  • Car kit automatic A2DP connection

I'm not entirely sure if this is a problem on my phone, or with the car kit, but I figured if I post on both ends, someone might know the answer.
With my N95 and N97, as soon as I turn on my car (equipped with Nokia CK-100), I automatically get connected to BT HFP and A2DP profiles.  The car kit will tell me, "Phone connected."  A second later, "Player connected."  With the N8, the car kit will only connect to just the phone automatically.  For the player to connect while the car is on, I have to open up the music player and play a song, which will then force N8 to make the A2DP connection.  So when that happens, you hear a 1.5 second message saying, "Player connected" followed by music that is already 2 to 3 seconds into the song.  I thought it was perhaps the Car Kit getting full with the list of paired devices (memory is for 8 pairings), but clearing the list doesn't help.  I thought it was the Car Kit firmware, so I upgraded it to 4.401, no luck.  Then when I paired my old N97 and N95, both HFP and A2DP connections were made automatically when I boot up my car as expected!  But not the N8.
Problem with the Car Kit, or problem with S^3?

The N8 on PR1 is still not a good excuse for the many bugs that it has.  It's just unimaginable that something that worked solidly with S60v3 and S60v5 and suddenly with the improved Symbian OS a mature and functional feature suddenly has a bug?  I just don't understand how that could've made it into the N8.  Is it the OS?  Or is it the BT chipset?  In either case, quality control got missed.
Thanks, though, for letting me know that I'm not the only one to experience this.  I'll stop trying to fix this as this is a problem outside of my control.

  • Nokia hands free car kit & 6310i

when i bought my ford st170,i had a hands free car kit fitted, after selling it i bought a new ford transit connect but not before removing it to fit it to the van.The hands free has a red wire, yellow wire and black wire plus two wires for the speakers, having looked at the wiring for the van,the colour code is totally different.
    Can anyone HELP me,
    thanks,
    martin....

If you are not quite sure where all the wires go in your vehicle then you should'nt attempt to install this kit, modern vehicles have very complex wiring systems on them and you can do damage which could cost you a lot of money. I have been installing car kits for 16 years and can put you intouch with a engineer near you if needed.

One minor complaint still with Bluetooth (if you are listening Palm):  The Nissan OEM kit supports up to 4 phones.  I paired my wife and kid's phones to the car, including my Pre.  When any other family member is in the car with me with their phone (non-Pre), my Pre will not connect to the car.  Their phones connect just fine even though my phone has been paired to the car to be the "primary" phone.  Only when I am by myself in the car will the Pre Bluetooth connect/disconnect work flawlessly.   Thanks again for getting us this far!

Hi guys just purchased a new ford fiesta style and looking to see what the handsfree car kits are available to purchase and prices?
This is the sony headunit that comes with the car if it helps at all?

You may use a 616 car kit which has display and your phone will support sim access so you can download your contacts.

  • Obtaining 5V power from CK-7W car kit

I have a Nokia N80 which connects to the car kit CK-7W via the cabla CA-27 and a mounting cradle (from Brodit) thus when I insert my phone into the cable I am completely handsfree (without bluetooth) and the CA-27 cable charges my phone without the need for a separate charger.
I have changed my phone to one which has a mini usb power connector, I can connect to the CK-7W car kit via bluetooth so that isn't a problem. However, I was wondering whether the power from the CA-27 cable can be used to charge the new phone - therefore I was looking for some kind of adaptor to convert the CA-27 to micro usb (if this is possible?). The other option would be to 'splice' the data cable (CA-27) and get the 5v output from there somehow - has anyone done anything similar?
Currently, the CA-27 cable is neatly installed behind the dashboard and would like to continue to utilise the power facility from this cable, I am looking to avoid using a cigarette charge type for power as this will look messy. Therefore I was wondering if there was some form of cable - or can anyone offer any other advice on how I can acheive this.
The car came installed with the CK-7W so i don't really know where it's installed. I have chopped a usb cable connected the red and black across some of the pins on the CA-27 but no luck (I did measure 5V dc across some pins but doesn't charge the new phone).

If your CK-7W was produced before July 2007 then the short answer is sadly no.
The software in the CK-7W will only send a charging supply when it receives the data signal from the CA-27.
Later kits were supplied with a CA-116 cable which has the Nokia charging pin instead of the now discontinued pop-port connector (as on the N80). These later CK-7Ws also had different software to enable the new cable. There are then adaptors from the Nokia pin connector to micro USB (I'm not aware of any to mini USB though).
Older units cannot be upgraded though, and this lack of upgrade potential was one of the reasons for the CK-7W being replaced in 2008 by the CK-100. another issue with the CK-7W on newer phones is echo for the other caller.
If you have a newer CK-7W then it would have been supplied with this CA-116. If not, it' could be time to upgrade...

  • 1.1.3 and Parrot Bluetooth car kit problems and solution

I've discovered a potential fix with help from the good folks at Parrot Bluetooth devices technical support. The main issue with version 1.1.3 upgrade and car kits appears to be when the iPhone attempts to sync contacts with the BT device. Apparently, something changed in 1.1.3 about how Apple sent contacts through BT. To fix it on a Parrot car kit, first delete the iPhone from the list of paired devices on the car kit. Then unpair the car kit on the iPhone. Pair the two devices following your devices instructions, only with contact synchronization disabled. On my 3200LS this meant selecting "Disable Synchro" from the phone pairing list. The connection was quick and rock solid after doing this.
I have seen reports of this same solution working with Ford Sync devices also, and it may address some of the Garmin issues too. Obviously, this isn't ideal since you won't have any contacts or at least will have to manually enter them on your device. But it should get you through until Apple devises a fix in a near future (hint Apple) upgrade.

    Klash,
Try updating to iPhone 1.1.4, and see if your issue is resolved.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Upgrading a Car Kit from Nokia 6310i to Nokia 6680

I drive a Mercedes E320 which has a fitted car kit which takes a Nokia 6310i in a cradle. This works very well and is integrated to the car radio etc, it is not a Mercedes kit as it does not integrate to the Mercedes Command System (i.e. I can not push the button on the steering wheel to answer calls etc). I think it is Nokia Car Kit but I can not be sure as it is hidden under stacks of plastic and leather and it will be a devil of a job just to find the box.
Last year I upgraded to a Nokia 6680 (my trusty 6310i having decided to retire) and given the law on use of phone in cars I thought it about time I put a new car kit in the Merc, (I cant do with things in my ears, so headsets are out of the question). I have bought a CK-7W and the cradle for the 6680 but as it is going to be a difficult job to locate and replace the whole system (or expensive if I have the dealer do it) the question I want to ask is simple. Is it possible to just CUT the cables between the different cradles and thereby join the new 6680 cradle to the existing 6310i car kit, (I am quite proficient with a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing). OK, I know this is a bit Heath Robinson but if it will work then it will save me a whole load of time and inconvenience, or a whole stash of money as I don’t relish the thought of ripping out a Mercedes dashboard just to find the car kit
If it is possible does anyone know the cable colours (if they are not the same, between 6310i and 6680).
    Thanks
    David

    Hi
The new cradle (CA27) will not work with the old car kit (assuming its the CARK-91).
But If you can locate the CARK-91 control box behind the dash (my guess is that it will be near the radio of behind the glove box), there is no need for cutting/ joining of wires.
Autoleads make an adaptor from the old Nokia 6-pin to the new 4-pin connector.
Its simply then a case of replacing the phone cradle, replacing the control box with CK-7W, swapping the other connectors (mic, speaker), plugging in the converter, and away you go.
Search for "06-208B Autoleads Adaptors" in Google for the converter (be careful - there is another adaptor that is 4-pin to 6-pin

  • E71 bluetooth connection car-kit

My E71 does not connect properly with my pioneer AVIC 3BT car-kit. The phone and car pair and than repeatedly pair and unpair. Previous nokia's (such as E61) did not have any problems. I suspect the new bluetooth misses the protocol for slightly older bluetooth connections. Anybody any better idea, such as an update or a program lije Jetware for Nokia?
    Many thanks in advance,

Pioneer has posted an update, that also works for my E51!
Here you will find the update file and update instructions for the FH-P80BT, DEH-P800BT, DEH-P700BT and DEH-600BT.
This update enables above models to connect NOKIA Nseries with software after October/2007.

  • Falcon with nokia car kit not muting radio?

Just got a 2007 XR6 falcon with a nokia car kit already fitted. The cable plugs in to my phone and when done the radio flashes up "media" but when a call is received  or made the radio doesn't do anything. Could this be because the model of phone I have, it's a cheap 6131 or just something I'm missing?
    Cheers
    Craig

Check that the phone software is up to date. It sounds like the phone is holding the audio channel open and not realeasing the mute quickly enough.

You can update software on pcsuite but remember to back up the phone contents first.

  • Great News for BT Car Kits for N85 users

The new N85 (us version anyway) has
    Bluetooth profiles including:
    Phone Book Access Profile (Server)
This should enable the phone to automatically sync contacts with most car kits. I have a US model 2007 Mercedes and this should enabke it to work probably.
I preordered the phone and expect delivery within 2 weeks. I hope it works.
    http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/phonecompare/n85/n85_tech_specs

Unfotumatelty - the additional BT profile did not help transfer the contacts to my Mercedes BT unit. I guess the "server" part of the profile waS OF NO HELP.
I ended up buying a Viseeo0 MBU2000 unit to replace my mercedes puck in the armrest compartment.
It also did not transfer phonebook automatically but it does allow me to transfer the contacts via OPP and it also allows me to use voice dialing through the mercedes system.
Not as automatic as I was hoping for but much better than it was.
All in all, the Viseeo0 is a pretty good alternative for people with Mercedes and the newer Nokia phone models.
I believe that some of the E series work a little better with some BT units.
2006+ Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Infiniti's seem to have a tough time with the Nokia N series.
