Ford & Bluetooth connection - Australia

I have a ford falcon which is a common car in australia. I had a tech-pac installed which is a ford product for connection to mobile phones via bluetooth. This allows handfree calls to be made and recieved via the audio systems. I have had a few issues with apple's bluetooth not connecting when a call is incoming and outgoing. I have done everything as per apple and ford's connection instructions. I have done a few tests whith different mobile phone (they are Nokia N85, LG Arena, Samsung A701 and iPhone 3Gs) all phones except the iphone connect to the audio system and display caller numbers.
I have been back to ford and they have tested the tech-pak unit and i have been advised that it is not faulty, i also figured this out from testing with the three other phones.
Is the apple bluetooth hardware/software different to other mobile phone manufacturers?
Will this be rectified in future apple iPhone Software updates?
Is there a current solution for this?
Any help would be appriciated

Palms don't support that feature.

  • 6233 and ford bluetooth connectivity

    Hi
I have the 6233 and also have a ford with the bluetooth connectivity within the car. Currently I do not have a manual for using it as ford don't have any but I seem to recall reading somewhere that the 6233 wasn't on the list of compatible phones for the ford software. Is this the case? People have complained to me that when they are speaking to me on my bluetooth in the car they get a very high pitched noise which is annoying more than anyting else, is this a compatibility issue.
Any comments would be much appreciated as it is now starting to annoy me!

Websites are often a good source of information if no manuals are present. From previously helping an associate I know that BMWs have massive problems supporting Nokia phones - they only support Nokia's older phones with specific versions of firmware, and Ford MAY fall into the same category.
You don't specify what model of Ford you have, but in any case I couldn't find any Bluetooth compatibility section on their website - I would recommend that you visit a Ford Service Centre who should be able to advise you further regarding the compatibility issue.
    Hope this helps.

  • Anyone noted Bluetooth connection issues with iPhone 4s and Ford sync?

My wifes iPhone 4 with IOS 5.0.1 auto connects to Ford Sync at least 75% of the time on first attempt. My new iPhone 4S with IOS 5.0.1 takes 4-5 attempts and rarely if ever connects without multiple attempts. Any one else seeing issues with failed Bluetooth connections with iPhone 4S phones?

Look at the right panel for links to other threads concerning problems with Fords. And it's not just Fords, cars in general.  No solutions seem to be given.

  • FORD TRANSIT CONNECT VAN bluetooth question

The Ford Transit van uses Nokia bluetooth . I have a question regarding connectivity .

    Hi JeffinMass
It's probably more which Nokia device you are trying to use with it that's the issue here. Unfortunately Nokia Bluetooth connectivity never seems as universal as say any Sony Ericsson device.

  • N80 + Ford BT connects for about 1 second

My N80 connects to my new ford integrated bluetooth for about 1 second only. Ford displayes that phone is connected, Phone displays connection "car" icon and then drops out.
I have checked the phones firmware and it is the latest.
I believe that it might be in the Car kit programming, FORD have run diagnostics and can't find anything wrong.
    Any suggestions.
Also the car kit won't pair any different phones to try: more evidence that the kit is faulty..

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue with your calls while on bluetooth drdarell. Have you tried to disconnect the bluetooth connection completely? Is the phone damaged? Were you using a particular application or functionality on your phone when it started to happen? Are you using a 3rd party app for bluetooth use? You start by enabling and disabling safe mode http://vz.to/12vTROa . This will check for any problematic apps that may be on your phone. Lets also check for software updates. What software do you have on your phone? If you continue to have the issue and your phone is not damaged, you can try a hard reset http://vz.to/150gZRU. Please keep us posted.

  • Playing Music via ford bluetooth Stereo, N95.

Hello All, I have an N95 that will automatically accept calls through my car stereo's bluetooth. My bluetooth is always on and connects automatically and the stereo is set to authorised.
Does anybody know how to play the music via the bluetooth? I've searched the forums but with no joy, I've also googled it. I'm fairly sure it is possible (maybe 3rd party software) as my ringtone (MP3) plays and also if I have the music player on and a call comes in, I get a few seconds of music.
    Any Help is apreciated. Cheers

The Ford Bluetooth car kit is NOT an A2DP car kit, which means it will not stream music via Bluetooth, although most Fords with Bluetooh have the auxillary input socket in the glove compartment, you can use an 3.5mm jack plug from you phones headphone socket to the Ford auxillary input and play music.

FORD BLUETOOTH UPDATE - FIX FOR NO GSM SIGNAL ON MAIN AUDIO SCREEN
Yes just upgraded my Ford Mondeo 10 plate, which has ford top of range audio with satnav (not Sony system) and worked first time !
Just follow instructions from link below
so happy it all works again
Here is the link below :- (BIG thanks to Shamu 35)

    Hi,
Yes, I have tried everything, first deleted iphone pairing from ford audio then deleted ford audio from iphone then repaied.
It does repair to the car audio as I can search phone book look at missed calls in or last calls out but no GSM signal icon which was in the bottom lefthand corner on the screen and when you make a call to the iphone the phone vibrates and the car audio lowers the radio volume but does not pass the call to the ford audio.
This all worked perfect on IOS 4.3.5 is there a downgrade for the iphone from 5 to 4.3.5 ?
I rang apple to ask this and was told no, basiclly go away !!! the phone is only 4 months old and worked until this upgrade, it must be the IOS 5 update as other people are all reporting bluetooth issues with car integration ?

I am trying to connect my Lenovo A1-07 Ideapad Tablet to a Nokia 5230 phone using the bluetooth connection. Whilst I get the devices to pair they will not connect. Does anybody have any suggestions?

  • Nokia C5-03/Win7 Bluetooth connectivity problem

When I am trying to connect Nokia Ovi Suite to my phone using Bluetooth, the pairing process seems to succeed, except the last phase: Then I receive a message that the connection did not succeed. The wizard gives then a possibility to try again with a different ID but it fails every time.
It is the same problem if I try to pair the phone from computer's Bluetooth icon in the notification area. However, with using my laptop with XP this succeeds. Therefore I believe that my phone is OK but there is something wrong with my Bluetooth software in Win 7 computer. Nokia Ovi Suite lists it:
    - Microsoft (Version: 6.1.7600, subversion: 16385)
When I start the computer, the Event Viewer shows the following error:
"The Bluetooth driver expected an HCI event with a certain size but did not receive it."
    Source: BTHUSB
    EventID: 5
The Microsoft's "Event Log Online Help" onthat window does not suggest anything.
However, this may be the actual reason for the problems but I do not know how to fix it.
I have tried Microsoft's "Fix it" tool but it did not fix this problem.
    Any ideas what to do?

    Still the same problem.
Now I installed the Nokia PC Suite and I tried to make a bluetooth connection to it.
Everything goes again well except after the last phase when I give the asked pin number in my phone, the computer ponders a while and shows then a window with the text that the phone cannot be verified.

  • How do I connect my Centro to the Internet via bluetooth over PC's Internet? Where is Centro's PPP Connection Type? How do I setup Login Script for bluetooth connection?

I am trying to set up bluetooth on the Centro to connect to the internet via my PC's internet.
    HotSync over bluetooth works successfully.
Computer specs: Toshiba P205-S6277; Bluetooth Stack v5.10.04 (currently using); Bluetooth Monitor v3.01 (to use Vista's built-in bluetooth)
I think I have narrowed my problem down to 3 things.
    (1) Finding Network Access properties (to allow connected devices to access the internet)
    (2) Finding Centro's Network Connection Type: PPP
    (3) Finding the correct Login Script to use
for (1) I think I've looked everywhere; found nothing on Network Access.
Checked control panel: only Bluetooth Local COM
Right-clicked bluetooth icon > Settings: File transfer, PAN Networking, PAN DHCP server, AV controls. Other bluetooth settings are for file transfer or object push. I don't see anything like this.
I'm stumped on (2). It seems as if palm removed this option under Centro's Advanced network settings .
Nearly all the forums that I read says to choose Connection Type: PPP.
    (3) Found 2 scripts that seemed would work. I don't know how it exactly works but it sounds workable.
    First script:
    Send: CLIENT
    Send: CLIENT
    Wait for: CLIENTSERVER
    End:
    Script 1 Connect Log:
    =======================================
    Connect Log
    S: client
    S: client
    R:
    Err: 0x121F   <<<netErrUserCancel b/c I canceled it.
    Not connected
    ========================================
I canceled it because the process would stay on "Signing In" then it automatically "Canceled" itself.
    Second script:
    Send CR:
    Delay: 1
    Send: CLIENT
    Wait For: CLIENTSERVER
    End
**UPDATE** I found on this forum (Reply # 3689) that the script is needed only if you are using Palm OS 4 or under. Centro uses Palm OS 5.49121. Can anyone support this?
Even without the script it has problems "Signing In".
I'm currently reading this site and trying out its decribed methods. I will update this thread when I get the results.
I'm using the Centro. And If anyone's been able to successfully connect to the internet on the Centro via a bluetooth connection to the PC WITHOUT 3rd party applications, please share.  If not, please share any ideas.
    Thanks!

I've been going at this for days, and have probably exhausted all the proposed solutions on the first 3 pages of various google searches. I'm getting the feeling that Vista users are pretty much SOL for the time being.
For the record, I just tried out a few of the solutions (mRouter & SoftickPPP) on XP and they work perfectly.

  • Bluetooth connection fails iOS 8.1

My iPhone5s cannot make a Bluetooth connectivity with any of my Macs(MBA mid-2013, iMac late-2012, MacPro) all running Yosemite 10.10. Prior to upgrading to Yosemite the same iPhone running on iOS 7 did make successful bluetooth connectivity. My iPhone5s is on 8.1. Surprising even though it cannot have connectivity, it sees and stay connected for a second or two and then will say "Not Connected". But the same phone connects with Blueant S4 handsfree Speakerphone - except that I have to make a connection each time. In the past, it used to connect automatically when I was in the range of my device.
Yes, I have tried reset PRAM, SMC resets on my Macs, powered OFF and ON my iPhone5s and even reset my NW connection. In addition, I have other iPhones in my family and none can make connection to Macs which run on Yosemite(tried 4s, 5 and even 6). But the same iPhones make successful BT on Macs running Mavericks and Mountain Lion(yes one MBP still exists). So I am guessing it is changes in Yosemite that is causing the problem. Because I am going through this problem - my family members who have Macs do not want to upgrade to Yosemite as they depend on BT connectivity for their external devices. I don't blame them, but sounds very silly to me that Apple messed up big time with BT connectivity. I see many reporting similar issues, but for many resetting PRAM and/or SMC they have been successful.
Any help would be appreciated. Again I am not referring to Handoff (which it is working for me) but I am interested in BT connectivity with Yosemite. This is important because external BT devices need to be connected(Headphones, Earbuds etc).

I went to the Apple store yesterday because I was having the same issue in my Honda Accord after I updated to iOS 8.1.1.  The very helpful rep there suggested that I go to Settings -> General -> Reset on my phone to reset my iPhone 5 General Settings.  She said that it's like an oil change for the phone that cleans out a lot of the junk.  After doing this, I was able to stream both my music and Pandora in my car again.
Note:  When you reset the General Settings, you will lose your phone password and background image (not a big deal).  You will NOT lose your pictures, video or emails.
    Hope that helps!

What user troubleshooting have you done on the phone? The steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Understand that a restore will put the latest iOS on your device. It is also possible there is a hardware fault on the device and the Bluetooth is failing. Anything is possible given the scenario you describe.
And as far as iOS 7.x is concerned, we have 5 different iPhones here at home, all with the latest iOS, a 4, 4s, 5c, and 2-5s and all are working just fine. So, a blanket statement such as the one provided by the other poster is not completely true. Others are not having any issues at all either.
