Ford Smax Advanced Bluetooth

I am new to this so, hope I am in the right place. I recently did a upgrade on my N95 -8 gig, and now I cannot connect to my car Bluetooth, the manual says I need a SIS file, but I don't know which one I need, can some please help or post a link.
thanks

Get an android based phone.
I just leased a ford fusion and the ios crashed the  sync program.  I was going crazy looking up information and I wound up under the steering wheel, ripping out fuses to reset the system.  It happened twice more within a week and then I used my friend's droid to test the system out.
The android based phone worked perfectly so I traded my beloved iPhone in and got a droid.  Not something I was pleased with but it was the phone or the car :/
I'm hoping that there is some kind of software update with the iPhone 5 and hopefully I can come back, if not I will stick with the droid.

    No. The iPhone does not support the MAP (Message Access Protocol) bluetooth profile.

  • Unable to delete serial port (advanced bluetooth prefs)

    I was messing around with the advanced Bluetooth preferences and added a couple serial ports to this list.  But when I select the items, the remove button remains inactive.  How do I delete these?  (Note: checking the checkboxes doesn't change the state of the remove button.)

    Hi ChouDoufu,
    did you get a reply, or find a way to fix this problem? I'm experiencing exactly the same issue. Moreover, if I go to "My Bluetooth Places" and "View My Bluetooth services", I can see the various services, and even enable some of them such as File Transfer or Bluetooth Imaging. However, I cannot enable Bluetooth Serial Port, which is what I'd need to be able to connect my Palm with my Lenovo. By the way, it works fine with my other computers, just not with this Lenovo T60p...
    Cheers,

  • Ford/MS Sync + bluetooth

    Is it possible to stream music to Sync via Bluetooth? I know you can do it with the USB cable, and I know my phone uses Bluetooth when it's synced. Unfortunately I can't get Sync to work with my iPod to stream music over Bluetooth. I'm wondering if it's even possible, because I tried for about 15 minutes the other day, and got nowhere. I remember my phone (Blackberry) was extremely easy to get working.
    It'd be great to not need to take the USB cable any time I want to listen to my iPod in the car.

  • Can't pair N78 with Ford's native Bluetooth connec...

    I've recently bought a N78, when my 6234 started failing me. I never had any problems pairing it with Ford's bluetooth connection, which allowed me to make and receive calls. It became increasingly important as I travel by car a lot and now it's almost impossible to bear without. I've tried to pair my new N78, but it replies that it's impossible.
    I've tried updating the firmware on the phne and I had the most recent one installed just yesterday.
    It still does not work. Any ideas?
    Please help.

    What do you mean by not bein able to pair?
    If you search can they find eachother?
    Have paired any other device (a phone or a headset) with the phone?
    Maybe the bluetooth device in the phone is broken?

  • With new upgrade, can I play music to Ford sync with bluetooth?

    The new upgrade 3.0 is fantastic. Can I play music on the Ford Sync system or do I need the 3G?
    Thanks for your advice.
    Best,
    Tom

    the original iphone, even with the 3.0 OS does not support the A2DP bluetooth profile... therefor you can not stream audio to the sync. you can however USB it to the sync and copy music over (I think) I don't have a sync, but wish I did...

  • N73 or Blackberry 8800 and Ford Bluetooth & Voice ...

    I have an N73 and a Blackberry 8800.
    I can pair the Blackberry up ok with my Ford Mondeo intergrated bluetooth and voice activation system and it works fine other than not being able to transfer my phone book to allow voice dialling by name. Can this be done?
    I also have the Nokia N73.
    Again, this pairs OK but not properly as I am told it sounds like I am in a wind tunnell when using it. Also none of the contacts show when I scan through the phone options using the car controls.
    I have downloaded the sis file on the Nokia site but it is not compatible with the N73. Can you please suggest a way round this to make it work.
    Many thanks.
    John

    Hello ajalro,
    yes I solved my problem...the phonebook is not visible how manual ford says but (for N73 of course) you have to enter in phone mode (press phone button on the radio console) and scroll the phone menu by pressing right position on the circular button fitted on radio console until you will see "phonebook" tag, so you have only scroll phonebook list by up,down positions on the same circular button.
    SO FOR N73 IT'S NOT NECESSARY ANY .SIS FILE!
    I hope helping you.
    bye

  • 6233 and ford bluetooth connectivity

    Hi
    I have the 6233 and also have a ford with the bluetooth connectivity within the car. Currently I do not have a manual for using it as ford don't have any but I seem to recall reading somewhere that the 6233 wasn't on the list of compatible phones for the ford software. Is this the case? People have complained to me that when they are speaking to me on my bluetooth in the car they get a very high pitched noise which is annoying more than anyting else, is this a compatibility issue.
    Any comments would be much appreciated as it is now starting to annoy me!

    Websites are often a good source of information if no manuals are present. From previously helping an associate I know that BMWs have massive problems supporting Nokia phones - they only support Nokia's older phones with specific versions of firmware, and Ford MAY fall into the same category.
    You don't specify what model of Ford you have, but in any case I couldn't find any Bluetooth compatibility section on their website - I would recommend that you visit a Ford Service Centre who should be able to advise you further regarding the compatibility issue.
    Hope this helps.

  • Car bluetooth problem when a audio lead is also connected.

    I noticed a strange bug today. Bluetooth works well for me in my 2008 Ford Smax with my Z10. However, if I plug a lead into the headphone jack to get music through the car speakers, when I receive or make a call the sound seems to route to the handset and not Bluetooth. I have to manually select the correct input from the menu.
    The default whenever a Bluetooth phone connection is made should always be Bluetooth, It is on Android and iOS.
    It is fine if no headset is connected.
    Could this be looked at and fixed in a future update please.
    Thanks

    Yup, same issue.
    I have to disconnect the lead from the phone before answering a call.  Somewhat hard sometimes when driving...

  • New Version 4.0 Bluetooth Software (SP2)

    Found the following news.  As stated it works under SP2 as well.  Will owners of the Btoes Dongle be getting this update?  Maybie a mod, admin or someone from MSI can answer this.

    Broadcom® Upgrades Market Leading WIDCOMM® Bluetooth® Software With Enhanced Security, CD-Like Wireless Stereo Sound and New Profiles
    New Release of Industry's Most Widely Deployed Bluetooth Software Also Features Support for Microsoft® Windows XP®-SP2
    IRVINE, Calif., Nov 1, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM), a leading provider of highly integrated semiconductor solutions enabling broadband communications, today announced WIDCOMM® BTW 4.0, the new release of its popular Bluetooth® software, enhancing security and adding advanced audio/video (A/V) capabilities to the industry's most widely adopted Bluetooth software. The new software was tailored and optimized for seamless integration with Broadcom® single-chip Bluetooth solutions and enhanced with important security upgrades for enterprise and small office customers. It was also tested and qualified for native support and seamless operation with Microsoft's recently announced Service Pack 2 upgrade for the Windows XP® operating system (Windows XP-SP2).
    Wireless, high quality stereo audio headsets and speakers enabled by the new WIDCOMM BTW (Bluetooth for Windows) 4.0 software is an exciting new application expected to drive widespread Bluetooth adoption for consumers over the coming years. A/V enhancements built into BTW 4.0 software will bring a new level of audio quality to wireless headsets, enabling a generation of products capable of delivering CD-like stereo sound without the need for wires. The same A/V Bluetooth profile support can be expected to appear in upcoming consumer electronics products like MP3 players, cellular phones, PDAs, and other appliances.
    "BTW 4.0 answers two distinct needs in the Bluetooth space: enhanced security, and the ability to effectively stream high-quality audio to wireless headphones or speakers. It is changing the dynamics of how consumers will experience multimedia content on their PCs," said Ron Wong, Senior Product Line Manager for Broadcom's Bluetooth software products. "Broadcom's unique ability to design and deliver all the critical technology pieces for next-generation wireless electronic devices enables our partners to bring products to market quickly and with features that hold great appeal for consumer markets."
    BTW 4.0 Enhances Security
    Bluetooth has established itself as the clear wireless PAN (Personal Area Network) technology of choice in large corporations as well as small and home office environments. Leading PC OEMs are already shipping Bluetooth in a large number of their commercial notebook PCs and are expecting continuous growth and accelerated adoption into 2005. With this rapid adoption, large enterprises have expressed growing concerns over security and software virus spreads. The new WIDCOMM BTW4.0 software incorporates enhanced security capability to help address these concerns. Broadcom implemented unique software functionality and tested it to ensure a higher level of security, to meet the expectations of the most demanding customers and bolster the software against malicious attacks.
    New Software Transforms A/V
    PC OEMs have come to appreciate the flexibility of embedding Bluetooth into their desktop and notebook computers to connect wirelessly with mobile phones and PDAs. Wireless mice and keyboards are taking advantage of the technology as well, offering valuable freedom and convenience to consumers. These same advantages are now enabled for stereo headsets and speakers with Broadcom's new BTW 4.0 software. Wireless headsets or speakers enabled with Broadcom Bluetooth technology can stream high quality sound while also performing remote control functions such as pausing or stopping play, and selecting tracks. In addition, consumers can place wireless speakers in all corners of the room, enabling enhanced sound and audio distribution for DVD and CD playback.
    New Features and Profiles
    Broadcom's WIDCOMM BTW 4.0 incorporates the latest software "profiles," which ensure a common set of features between two Bluetooth devices. Bluetooth profiles are developed and standardized through the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). BTW 4.0 features many of the latest profiles, which provide advanced multimedia capabilities including:
         *  GAVDP -- Generic Audio Video Distribution Profile
         *  A2DP -- Advanced Audio Distribution Profile
         *  AVRCP -- Audio Video Remote Control Profile
    BTW 4.0 also supports the Basic Imaging Profile, which provides the ability to "push" and "pull" images wirelessly between a mobile phone or digital camera and a PC. In addition, the new software release was designed to work seamlessly with Broadcom's BCM2035 and BCM2045 single-chip Bluetooth solutions. It was tested and qualified to work seamlessly with Microsoft's latest operating system update, Windows XP-SP2, thereby ensuring forward compatibility to PC OEMs and end-users as they upgrade to this latest operating system.
    End users can be assured that as increasingly advanced Bluetooth A/V applications gain adoption, Broadcom's BTW software will enable a richer and more secure user experience.
    Availability
    Broadcom's WIDCOMM BTW 4.0 software is currently shipping to Broadcom's early access partners.

  • Bluetooth in Windows 8.1 Pro Boot Camp

    Okay, so I've searched all over the place and found no actual solutions to my problem. There are several forums that ask this question, but then they just kind of trail off...
    Here's my issue:
    I have a new MBP (non-retina) and I am running Windows 8.1 Pro with Boot Camp. (Yosemite on OSX side)
    I am trying to use my internal bluetooth chipset (Broadcom 20702A3) to set up a serial connection with a very simple bluetooth device that talks to an arduino. The bluetooth module is a pretty common one -- the JY-MCU. I know that it will work on my hardware because it works beautifully when I run OSX. Then I boot into Windows, and it goes kaput. Open PC Settings > PC and Devices > Bluetooth, and it will appear. I can pair with it by entering the correct code, and all looks good: the progress bar goes across, then it says "connected." Then a few seconds later, it says "paired" instead of connected. That basically means that it COULD talk to it because it knows the passcode, but it doesn't see it anymore. That's what happens when i turn off my bluetooth mouse: it says "paired" but not "connected." Turn the mouse back on, it says "connected" again. There is nothing that I can do to make the bluetooth module say "connected" again, though, short of clicking "remove device" and repeating the process. I tried BlueSoleil, but a similar thing happened (I can give more specifics, if it would help anyone familiar with BlueSoleil), and the software seemed pretty sketchy to me, so I uninstalled it. I've also tried re-downloading and reinstalling the Boot Camp drivers, but no change. I tried installing Broadcom drivers, but no luck there either -- the installer stalls because it can't find the hardware. The Broadcom driver issue has been discussed by other people trying to do similar things, but it seems that no one has been able to make anything work at all on a Mac except BlueSoleil and the Boot Camp drivers. Oh, and one other thing I tried: enabling bluetooth collaboration (Device Manager > Network Adapters > Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter > Advanced > Bluetooth Collaboraion > Enable) worked for some people who wanted to have two bluetooth devices going at the same time, but made no difference for me.
    So, any ideas? I think what I'm looking for is a better driver (although I've searched all over) or a less sketchy, more reliable bluetooth manager than BlueSoleil. At this point, though, anything's worth a try, so long as it's not malware. I really would like to be able to make this work. My next try will be to buy a bluetooth dongle, and use whatever drivers come with that, but that's pretty inelegant, especially since I only have two USB ports.
    Let me know if any more specifics would be helpful.
    Thank you in advance,
    -Rowan

    COMPLETE SOLUTION
    This solution will get Arduino bluetooth communication up and running on a MacBook Pro that has been Boot Camp-ed into Windows 8.1.
    1. Use standard Boot Camp bluetooth drivers
    2. Download PuTTY
    3. Connect bluetooth module to Arduino.
        I used a cheap JY-MCU bluetooth module
        I used SoftwareSerial, but if you want, you can probably use HardwareSerial, although you might have to disconnect the BT module to upload sketches.
        Whatever you do, remember to connect Tx to Rx and Rx to Tx.
    4. Upload this sketch to your Arduino (using a USB cord) to check serial communication (unplug the cord when you're done):
    #include <SoftwareSerial.h>
    SoftwareSerial BTBoard(2,3); //Rx, Tx
    char val = 0;
    char current;
    int ind = 13; //LED on pin 13
    void setup(){
      BTBoard.begin(9600); //This must be set to baud rate of your BT module
      pinMode(ind, OUTPUT);
    void loop(){
      while(BTBoard.available()){
        current = BTBoard.read();
        if((current != '\r') && (current != '\n')){ //PuTTY sends a carriage return (\r) and a newline character (\n) every time you press enter
          val = current;
          BTBoard.write("val is currently ");
          BTBoard.write(val);
          BTBoard.write("\r\n"); //These lines echo back the value that is stored
          if(val == '1')
            digitalWrite(ind, HIGH); //turn on the LED
          if(val == '0')
            digitalWrite(ind, LOW); //turn off the LED
      delay(10);
    5. Connect your bluetooth module to your computer:
         Power up the BT module
         Open PC Settings > PC and Devices > Bluetooth
         Wait for your BT module to appear, when it does, pair with it.
         You may need to enter a passcode: try 1234 or 0000
         It may say "Connected" or just "Paired," but it doesn't really matter as long as it says one or the other
         Close Settings
         Go to the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar
         Right click on it, an click "Open Settings" (if you don't have the BT icon in your taskbar, there is probably another way to get to these settings)
         Click the "COM Ports" tab
         Take note of the name of your outgoing port (mine was COM3)
    6. Start PuTTY
         Set up PuTTY as indicated by this site
         Make sure that the baud rate is the same as the baud rate of your BT module, and the same as the baud rate in the sketch above
         Make sure that the COM port is the one that you found in the last step
         You might want to save your session so you don't have to change the settings in the future
         Click "Open"!
    Now when you type a 1 into PuTTY and hit enter, it should echo back "Val is currently 1" and the LED should turn on. The opposite happens when you type a 0.
    If you need to restart PuTTY, unplug the BT module, wait a few seconds, plug it back in, and start PuTTY again, using your saved session. You shouldn't need to re-pair the BT module with your computer.
    I hope that this helps someone out. I might post it on the Arduino forum too.
