Forecast creation in APO

Hello,
do you know whether transaction /SAPAPO/DMP2 can be used to create Forecast in APO - based on dependent demand in an inactive planning version, we would like to create forecast in the active version. When I execute DMP2 the log always says "No planned independent requirements generated". Do you have any experience?
Thanks and regards,
Anke

HI Anke,
i do have the experience while working on CBF..
we have generated PIRs for componets for which dependent demand exists..
make sure that your components have strategy 10 in MRP3 page tab..
category in the DMP2 transaction should be AY and AZ.
try this..
I am working on the latest verion of SCM...let me know whether you are able to use the same settings..
i will help you in this regard if the above settings do not crack your problem..
regards
umamahesh

  • Forecast Consumption in APO- No Data Available in Product View

    Hi Experts
I facing some problem in Forecast Consumption in APO. The APO system is connected to a R/3 system. So data relevant for Forecast consumption comes from R/3.
The allocation indicator in the requirement class assigned to the strategy maintained in the product master is set as " no consumption with customer requirement". and the same is transfered to APO.
I have the changed the settings in APO and here are the setting maintained in APO to enable Forecast Consumption.
    Product Master Setting:
    a) Consumption Mode: 2 ( forward and backward)
    b) Consumption Period: ( 30 days both backward and forward)
    c) Strategy Group : 20 and assignment mode is set to "Assign customer requirement to planning with final assembly" and category group has sales order - BM
    d) The check mode setting in the ATP tab is set to "Assign customer requirement to planning with final assembly"
I have a forecast for today's date and a sales order transferred from R/3 for the same date. But I do not see any data in the Forecast tab in the product view ( /sapapo/rrp3 Tcode)
Please let me know if I am missing any setting in APO. Or the SAles order carries the strategy information from R/3 and influencing the consumption any way.

    Hi,
What is your Forecast & Sales order quantity? If these are same then sales order consumed forecast, so you can not able to see in the rrp3.
Second thing try to increse the forecast quantity than sales order quantity & then check it.

  • Item category determination during Purchase Requisition creation from APO

I’m creating a  SNP Purchase Requisition in APO and when it is  published to R/3, a Purchase Requisition document is created in R/3.
When this PR is created in R/3, I want the Item Category to be determined based on the Material master Special Procurement Type. ( eg: I’d like the Item category to be ‘L’ if the Material master Special Procurement Type = 30 (Subcontracting) ). But by standard, this field is coming as ‘Blank’ and this field could only be populated during the creation from APO.
I found a user exit ( CIFPUR02 :  Enhancement of Purchase Order Interface (Inbound) ) on R/3 where I tried to populate the Item Category, but  when I do this, all the purchase order related data is getting deleted and hence no PR’s are getting created in R/3.
Could anyone please tell me if this could be resolved using configuration and if not any  tips to do this technically would be very helpful.
    Thanks,
    Harsha

    Hi Karun,
This is the code i'm using...
select single * from marc into lit_marc
    where  matnr = c_eban-matnr
    and    werks = c_eban-werks.
    append lit_marc.
read table lit_marc with key matnr = c_eban-matnr
                                 werks = c_eban-werks
                                 sobsl = 30.
      if sy-subrc = 0.
      c_eban-pstyp = '3'.
      endif.
Here sobsl = 30 is the Special procurement type
But when i try to populate c_eban-pstyp = '3', during the creation of Purchase Requisitions in R/3, in the program SAPLEMPI -> LMEPIF01
this condition is encountered which deletes all the data in the tables that is used to create Purchase requisitions.
<i>* get rsnum in the case of subcontracting
          IF XEBAN-PSTYP EQ PSTYP-LOHN AND                      "RB240999
             EXITFLAG_ORDID IS INITIAL.                         "RB240999
    refresh all component tables
            CALL FUNCTION 'ME_COMPONENTS_REFRESH'
                 EXCEPTIONS
                      OTHERS = 1.</i>
Could you please suggest me anything to get around this.
    Thanks,
    Harsha

  • Save text in a PO during creation  from APO

    Hi All,
I need to save SO text in PO during PO creation from APO.
    I am using the BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST method:PROCESS_ITEM.
This works perfectly when PO created from ECC - ME21N. However when a PO is created from APO (by converting PR) this BADI did not trigger or works.
Then I have tried using Purchase order CIF user exit CIFPUR02 ->EXIT_SAPLCPUR_001->ZXCIFU06
It didnot brings in the purchase order number to be created. Hence I could not able to copy the sales order text to purchase order.
Kindly let me know the user exit or BADI triggers during PO creation from APO to copy sales order text to purchase order.
    Thanks,

    Hi,

  • Forecast Deletion in APO

How can we delete the forecast values in APO?
    Thanks

    Hi Siddharth,
For reorganising the forecast values, you can use /SAPAPO/MD74 - transaction code.  Make sure before you use in live system, test in dev system how it works, understand the functionality and then try in live system.

  • Negative Forecasts appearing in APO-DP

Negative forecasts appearing in APO-DP against some brand/packs.Any reasons why????

    Hello Kailesh,
Sometimes the planning book doesn't show what is saved in livecache. This is especially true when you have some default macros which gets executed when you load data. The default macros will run and therefore the planning book will show the result of the macro computation and not exactly what is saved in livecache. For example, if you have a macro in one planning book which computes the Net Forecast = Stat + Adjustments. Every time this planning book is run Net Forecast gets computed and also gets saved when the user clicks the save button.  Now, imagine what will happen if stat or adjustments gets changed somewhere else (e.g. thru another planning book or thru stat forecasting). When you go the first planning book in display mode, you will see that the data for Net Forecast looks "correct". However, this is not what is saved in livecache.
I suggest you try to check out your data using a planning book with no macros. You can also check out using RSA3 using the export datasource of your planning area. Both of these methods will show you what data was really saved in livecache.

  • Forecast Transfer from APO to R/3

    Hi All,
We have an issue wherein we wanted to transfer the forecast to R/3 for non-working weeks.
We are planning in APO in weekly buckets. So, when we transfer the forecast for a week which is completely marked with non-working days at R/3, we want the forecast for that week at APO should get transferred to the rest of the working days of the respective month/period.So we dont lose forecasts for that week which are planned in APO.
Do we have any settings by which we can force the forecast to push to the other weeks which are are haing work days in a period.
This is how the system is behaving when we have a non-working day at R/3 in week. If I have 5 day a week and one day of that week is a now working day. So, when I transfer the forecast fromAPO to R/3, all the quantity for that week in APO is getting pushed to remaing 4 days of a week. the same functionalitywe would like to have if complete one week is non-working week, the APO data for that week should get transferred to next three available weeks.
Hope I was clear. There is a business reason for this. the business/demand planner can plan their material even though the plant is shutdown for a week since they may want the forecast should get consumed by the Sales Order delivery. The Sales Order delivery can consume the existing stocks.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regard,
    Rakesh Wade..

    Hi Rakesh Wade,
Can you check "days in period" option in master forecast profile, i hope here we can adjust the days and recreate forecast for remaining days.
    Regards

  • Forecast bias in APO DP

I am using APO DP V5.1.
Statistical forecasts show a consistent positive bias.
Can anyone advise on how I can address this point?
    Thanks...

There is nothing such an automatic bias correction in APO DP. If you see bias in the forecast, either the forecast model chosen is not the right one (in this case, you should change the model) or there is no right model for your data (in this case, you should forecast manually).
Example for the first case: data with positive trend, forecasted with a constant model will show consistent bias. The solution in this case is to change to a trend model with good parameters.
    hope this helps,
    Pablo

  • Inconsistent forecast consumption in APO and R/3

    Hi Experts,
We have a couple of issues with consumption in our system.
We have a situation where APO is showing us consumption in the /SAPAPO/DMP1 view but no consumption showing in the planning books and the RRP3 requirements screen. Interestingly, when we go and change the sales order in R/3, the consumption then gets triggered in APO. So there seems to be some kind of delay and the consumption seems to be lagging a step behind or somehow a trigger isnt hapenning first time around.
The other is more a question...
If you do the F1 help on Fwd consumption in APO and R/3, it tells us that in R/3 consumption is based on workdays as defined by the factory calendar whereas in APO, it talks about consumption considering calendar days and not workdays and that its not possible to define a calendar to make it work with workdays.
We have fwd consumption set to 2 days and we have noticed that if e.g the order comes on a Friday, consumption gets lost due to the following two days being Saturday and Sunday. Whereas in R/3 it jumps forward and consumes Monday and Tuesday and ignores Satuday and Sunday (We are using 5day calendars). This is causing a big headache and consumption is all over the place.
    any ideas?

OK, I have found the solution to half the problem. It was a system bug and the last sales order wasnt being consumed and there is already a note out for that.
Still confused about the workday vs calendar day issue in R/3 and APO. How do we align the two systems and get the consumption happening in APO for 5 days and not 7 days?
    Regards,
    Usman

  • Production Order creation in APO /  Setup  IDoc

    All,
I am creating production orders in APO via the BAPI 'BAPI_MOSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI3'. But I need to change some values in different segment fields in the IDoc before to post it.
Do you know if there is an user_exit available to do that (or how to find it) or IF I need to use an other method.
    Idoc Type used : MOAPS_SAVEMULTIPLE201
    Regards,
    Fred

    Hi Kemp,
The usual method to find a user exit is to get the PACKAGE of the bapi by going to
    Goto->Object Directory Entry.
Use this package name in smod transaction by giving this package in the pop up that comes when you press a F4 on the enhancement field of smod transaction.
It will give you the list of user exits.
    2) Make a global find on the funcion module for the strings user, exit, user_exit, call customer-function etc

    Ravi

  • Creation of GUID in SAP APO

    Hi everyone.
I have been tasked with creating forecast data in APO. This involves the creation of the entry in table /1APO/S1000000nnn (derived from table /SAPAPP/TSAREATE using planning area). After this entry is created I need to create the forecast model assignment entry in table /SAPAPO/DP_FCST2.
I am achieving this by opening the client and using SE11 to load the data.
The problem I have is that, even after an SQL trace, I still can't find out where I can get the GUID that I need for the creation of these entries. Does anyone know which Function Module to call that will create the GUID and the /1APO/S1000000nnn entry as well? Are these separate FM's or is there one that does both tasks.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Dave.

  • Mass deletion of Forecast & Backlog Confirmatin from APO

    Hello All,
Is there any transaction to delete the backlog Forecast & Confirmation from APO. Can MC75 transaciton in R/3 delete the Forecast from APO in mass. In current senario I am doing manual deletion of backlog Confirmation  every month. Can any transaciton help me in same ??
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Mohit,
You can use TCode- /sapapo//rlcdel, which is the same as the report in SE38- /sapapo/rlcdelete. chose 'select object by categories'. Put the order category as F*, put the date range, planning version, product and location and execute. This will delete the forecasts for the particular product/loc.

  • Tables to store Forecast in APO

    Dear All
we need to pull the Forecast data in third party application. we need tables in which the forecast data is stored in table.
I am not APO expert or APO user, but want to pull forecast data from APO for my application.
APO consultant told me that, their data is stored in Planning Book, then how one should pull data from planning book
    Regards
    Saurabh

    Hi,
As per business scenario,Once forecast done then they will take the back up fron the planning area.
Normally in APO data is stored at live cache level at internal table so you can't extract the dat fron APO.
Most of the cases they will store the data at BW infocube and then they will manupulate the data from BW cube.
So please create the BW cube and store the data in BW cube and get it from cube,BW cube is inbuilt functinality of APO.
Create Datasource from planning area and create BW cube and assign the correct sorce system.
