Forecast future data using various analysis methods

Dear All
Is it possible that we can perform various kinds of analysis like correlation analysis,regression analysis,volatility anlysis,statistical analysis etc.on historical data and forecast future price etc for using BI. If so please let me know how preferably with an example.
Any valuable suggestions with examples of how it can be done in BI in this regard are truly appreciated and rewarded with points.

Modify existing data using LSMW IDoc method

Hi experts,
I am trying to transfer activity data from R/3 system to CRM using Idoc LSMW method.
It working fine that LSMW creates new activities in CRM system, & there is a check in the conversion code that if the activity we are trying to transfer exists in CRM system it will skip that transaction.
Now the requirement is that we don't want to skip, if the activity is already present in CRM system than it should modify the existing.
IDOC used :                       CRMXIF_ORDER_SAVE_M02
Msg type used:                 CRMXIF_ORDER_SAVE
Note:
LSMW will not create activities in the system; SXDA data transfer workbench will be used to process the data in CRM system. SXDA project has following two steps:
-     Merge files u2013 This step uses a custom function module to merge one or more than one files and creates a file which is   required for LSMW.
-     Convert the data u2013 This step uses LSMW as the conversion method
-     Load the data u2013 This step uses the IDoc object interface
Now the doubt is that if i remove the check than it will create an another activity with same activity no. or modify the existing one, or is there another way to modify the existing activity in CRM system?

I have a doubt, we are transferring activities from R/3 system to CRM system, & these activities are maintained in R/3 application system in the form of text files
Now the question is if the text file contains 10 activities( transactions) with there header, partner & item details & from these 10 activities some are new & some are already present in CRM system, than will it be possible to create the new ones & update the existing ones withe single LSMW project run.
I think that we can put a check in the conversion code where transaction begins that if the particular activity( transaction) already present in CRM system than set a flag as "U" to update, if activities are new than set it as "I" to insert & than pass this flag in the conversion rule to the field "OBJECT_TASK" of IDOC structure
or
we need to maintain text files as for update or insert separately but not for mixed task of update/insert.
Will this update/insert process also work's if we are using a copy of standard IDOC type with some custom segments & custom fields.

Error while uploading the data Using LSMW - Idoc method

Hi Experts,
I am working on LSMW using Idoc method. Till 12th step (Display converted data) i wasn't got any problem. For the Idoc method, I have to specify details to Idoc inbound processing from the menu settings.
In that screen I have to specify file port, partner type and partner no. I have created a file port ZFILE. Can u tell me what ahould I pass in that screen? Where should be the file i.e in the application server or presentation server? What should be the directory and function module. Can u provide step by step?
After that I have to specify partn.type. What should I select for that?
After that I have to specify partner no. Whether it is inbound or outbound?
I got No data found for the following detials.
port - ZFILE
in the inbound file tab, e:\ as physical directory; EDI_PATH_CREATE_USERNAME as function module.
Partner type - US
Parnter no. - LSMW with the inbound parameters message type - MATMAS and Process code - MATM.
Please tell me how can I upload properly? Please don't ignore as i am asking same question again becasue I have gone through related threads also. But i didn't find the exact requirement.
proper documentation will be rewarded.

While processing each idoc one log on window is opening,and status of idoc is 51,eventhough i am passing material description to maktx of e1maktm,it is showing an 'No description is passed'.

Actually I am uploading the data in flat file from file port to sap.
In idoc inbound processing of lsmw i have created a file port and iam giving the logical system name of the same client.
is this the correct procedure.
Every time when i process each idoc one new logon window is opening and it is showing idoc status as 51.

which method is easiest for uploading data using LSMW (Direct method or batch input method) bcs I am facing lot of problem using batch input method while recording.Even I cannot use direct method using standard program.can anyone tell me some other easiest way for uploading MM01.?

I personally used the direct input way 6 years ago and it was a little bit of a struggle cause I was very new to SAP at the time. But it worked out to be ok in the end. You just have to keep messing with it till the errors are clear and then you can upload for real. The test mode is a nice touch, you can get rid of all of the errors before actually uploading the data.

How to upload different views of customer master data using LSMW-IDOC

I need to upload customer master data using LSMW Idoc method for my client. Now customer will have different views like main view, Sales data, Company code data, Partner function data etc. And except main data all other data can be multiple for each customer. We are going to upload data from tab delimited .TXT file. Should I propose different LSMW for upload different views for the customer from different .TXT files? or we can upload all the customer related data (like main view data and partner function data )from a single .TXT file. Kindly suggest which one in convenient and how we can prepare the data file in both cases.

convinient is the method that you can handle.
but as the guy who loads the data you have to load the data like they are available, like it is convinient for others to prepare the data.
In general there is no problem to use an IDOC method to load a customer master with multiple comany codes and several sales orgs in one shot.
the data can be in one source file, but need then to be maintained in a certain way
Example1: all data in 1 structure
GD1 - CC1 - SO1
GD1 - CC2 - SO2
GD1 - CC2 - SO3
in this case the GD (general data) is redundand in each line which has different Company code data or different Sales Org data
Example2: all data in 3 sturcures but one file
GD1
.CC1
.CC2
..SO1
..SO2
..SO3
Example3: data delivered in 3 files - you join the files in LSMW, they must have a common identifier like the old customer number in the beginning of each file
FILE General data:
GD1
GD2
GD3
file Compamy code data:
CC1
CC2
CC3
file Sales org data:
SO1
SO2
SO3
LSMW is flexible and can handle each of this scenarios, are you flexible too?

Error while updating data using session and call transaction method

Hi all,
    i have to update data using MM01 transaction from flat file to database.i have used both session method and call transaction method to do that.in both the methods data has been transferred from internal tables to screens but while updating the data that is by clicking the ok-code at the end of the transaction iam getting a dialogue box stating
   SAP EXPRESS DOCUMENT "UPDATE WAS TERMINATED" RECEIVED FROM AUTHOR "SAP".
please tell whether the problem lies and solution for that.

How to resolve error while importing data using IDoc method in LSMW ?

I am trying to import my data using IDoc method in LSMW.
But after completing the whole LSMW process, when I look into the IDOC generated, the error description is as this.
It talks about the process code and other stuff.
Function module not allowed : APPL_IDOC_INPUTI
Message No. B1252
Diagnosis :
The function module APPL_IDOC_INPUTI and the application object type which were determined are not valid for this IDoc.
I am not able to resolve the problem.

Problems migrating data via LSMW using the IDoc method

Hello everybody,
I got a very strange problem migrating data via the LSMW. I tried to map legacy data using the IDoc mapping method. I'm using the message type 'CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M ' and the basic IDoc type 'CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M01'.
I can read the import data and convert it to IDoc structure as well as generate the IDoc. When I start processing the IDoc afterwards I get always the same error messages which I don't understand...
The errors are:
1) Error status 'A ' calling validation service (Status 51)
2) Validation error occurred: Module CRM_BUPA_MAIN_VAL , BDoc type BUPA_MAIN (Status 51)
3) Error_Time Dependency_Addresses CHECK_TABLE_MISSING (Status 51)
4) Internal error when calling operation module BUA_CHECK_ADDRESS_VALIDITY_ALL : Check table missing (Status 51)
5) Address moves ignored in the case of time-independent systems (Status 51)
6) Partner data processed with key PartnerGUID 4BF67ADE9B9923BEE10000000A3500DB (Status 51)
7) Partner (4BF67ADE9B9923BEE10000000A3500DB ): the following errors occurred (Status 51)
I tried to import the following data:
external ID
Name1
Name2
Address data
Telephone data
Fax data
Website data
Can anybody tell me where those errors come from and how I can fix them. Would be great if somebody could help me!

so apparently my issue with this was setting the time zone in the Address to the time zone of the user doing the conversion. You can find the time zone in SU01.
Also you can create a BP in the WebUI then check t-code SMW01 and it will help you on passing the values to CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE

Is this how you do it?
1. Turn off iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, slide to turn off.
2. Connect USB cable to computer
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune (make sure you have the newest version of iTune)
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

create in this badi it will work. in that interface you have to use is : STATUS_AND_HEADER.
and write below code in the interface : STATUS_AND_HEADER.

data : v_date like is_gohead-budat.
if sy-tcode = 'MIGO'.
v_date = is_gohead-budat.
check v_date GT sy-datum.

Replacement of FORECAST DELIVERY DATE with DATE OF FIRST RECEIPT

Please help me in my scenario below and post your valuable comments-
My Scenario is like -
For example, In REPORT, For the item 10 of the order 4700035361 our FIRST RECEIPT DATE is in march (14/03/2011) and FORECAST DELIVERY DATE is in december (30/12/2011). This purchase order item was completely received.
Requirement is like---
Associated cube is ZCUIMP01.
(1) The evolution will consist of replace the FORECAST DELIVERY DATE with FIRST RECEIPT DATE of the item.
(2) The period (Fiscper and Fiscyear) will also be modified.
(3) Hence the calculation of the YTD will take into account the order and its receipt date.
(4) The adjustment of the history will be necessary for the year 2011.
Can anyone suggest, from where i should start my analysis (Should it be Infocube level??).
What will be the approach to fulfill all the above mentioned requirement (Should we think about Remodeling concept for creating new data model, if yes then how to do?).
Please reply asap, it will be great help for me.

Hi Rupali,
As I understand there is a business change that you need to justify in our report. Unfortunately your explanation of the design has a considerable gap to visualize. In any case, if you need help on to how to approach such a change -
1. Understand the business change, its purpose and its imapct on your current design and the report.
2. Understanding the purpose is very important since you will then be able to find workarounds, redesign as per the change required.
3. Start from the query and check if your replacement of characterisitics with new characteristics can be obtained using functions like Replacement path, attributes, customer exits, etc. Changing a query/creating a new report on the existing model is the most feasible option.
4. If not, try exploring option to keep the design untouched, and creating a new InfoObject/DSO like structure to capture the date modifications, etc which then can be used on a MultiProvider.
