Forecast Mismatch in DP and SNP

Hello all,
Currently we are in SCM 4.0. When we release the forecast from DP to SNP, there is a mismatch in the forecast if the monthly buckets are selected and the forecast matches for weekly buckets.
Can anyone please help me out on this.
Thanks,
Sai

Forecasts for weeks that cross the months are split in two in proportion of days in the two months. Eg. a forecast of 700 may be split into 400 and 300 for the week that crosses a month such that 4 days of a week fall in one month and 3 in the next. So due to this split, forecast that was say expected to be 700 inside a month would have only 400 in the month. This is a standard behaviour. you would need to explore badi that are active during forecast release if you want something different.

  • Releasing a portion of Forecast for SAME product to SNP and a portion to R3

After running  DP forecasting, can a portion of the forecast for the SAME product be released to SNP and a portion transferred to R3 ?
The requirement here is for a product, say Prod1, demand comes from 2 Business lines. Through Project System u2013 PS module, system differentiated the business lines
From a DP phase 1 perspective, client want to do global forecasting for 2 business lines
The challenge we r facing is demand coming from Business line 2 cannot be consumed in SNP as demand comes in the form of Automatic Reservations and CIF doesnt have the capability to CIF automatic reservations. Standard CIF only cifs manual reservations. So client wants the forecast for Business line 2 (Note that this is for the same product) to be transferred to R3.
So can a portion of the forecast for the SAME product be released to SNP and a portion transferred to R3 ?
    TIA

Hi Visu, thanks for the reply
So if If I want to release the demand plan as a background job to both R/3 and SNP based on certain characteristic(Business Line), I  am thinking of doing the below things.
    Release to R3 -- >
    1. Create a Transfer Profile
2 . Create an Activity using "MC8T- Define Activities for Mass Processing" and assign this transfer profile to the activity.
    3. Create a Planning Job by selecting a Selection ID( that has the demand separation characteristic)
    4. Schedule the Planning Job
    Release to SNP -- >
    1. Create a Release Profile
2 . Create an Activity using "MC8T- Define Activities for Mass Processing" and assign this Release profile to the activity.
    3. Create a Planning Job by selecting a Selection ID( that has the demand separation characteristic)
    4. Schedule the Planning Job
However, I am not sur eif I can do the follwoing.
    1. Can I create a SINGLE Planning job to release demand BOTH to R3 and SNP ?
    2. If I am using Different Key Figures in the planning area( per business line), do I have the need to maintain a separate characteristic value in the POS, as anyway I can load the data from cube to these separate key figures based on business line ?
    3. MOST IMPORTANTLY, if I use different planning jobs to release to R3 and SNP, I can have different selection ID's ( per business line) and select these in the planning job instead of maintaing TWO DIFFERENT Key figures. do you think this is feasible ? Any thoughts/advice ?
    TIA

    hi friends,
what is main difference between with dp and snp. why we use both in apo. can u give me any scenerio with any industry?

    Dear Suneel,
<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/8f/9d6937089c2556e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm">Demand Planning</a> - Use APO Demand Planning (DP) to create a forecast of market demand for your company's products. This component allows you to take into consideration the many different causal factors that affect demand. The result of APO Demand Planning is the demand plan.
Demand Planning is a powerful and flexible tool that supports the demand planning process in your company. User-specific planning layouts and interactive planning books enable you to integrate people from different departments, and even different companies, into the forecasting process. Using the DP library of statistical forecasting and advanced macro techniques you can create forecasts based on demand history as well as any number of causal factors, carry out predefined and self-defined tests on forecast models and forecast results, and adopt a consensus-based approach to reconcile the demand plans of different departments. To add marketing intelligence and make management adjustments, you use promotions and forecast overrides. The seamless integration with APO Supply Network Planning supports an efficient S&OP process.

Supply Network Planning uses advanced optimization techniques, based on constraints and penalties, to plan product flow along the supply chain. The result is optimal purchasing, production, and distribution decisions; reduced order fulfillment times and inventory levels; and improved customer service.
Starting from a demand plan, Supply Network Planning determines a permissible short- to medium-term plan for fulfilling the estimated sales volumes. This plan covers both the quantities that must be transported between two locations (for example, distribution center to customer or production plant to distribution center), and the quantities to be produced and procured. When making a recommendation, Supply Network Planning compares all logistical activities to the available capacity.
The Deployment function determines how and when inventory should be deployed to distribution centers, customers, and vendor-managed inventory accounts. It produces optimized distribution plans based on constraints (such as transportation capacities) and business rules (such as minimum cost approach, or replenishment strategies).
The Transport Load Builder (TLB) function maximizes transport capacities by optimizing load building.
In addition, the seamless integration with APO Demand Planning supports an efficient S&OP process.
Supply Network Planning is used to calculate quantities to be delivered to a location in order to match customer demand and maintain the desired service level. Supply Network Planning includes both heuristics and mathematical optimization methods to ensure that demand is covered and transportation, production, and warehousing resources are operating within the specified capacities.
The interactive planning desktop makes it possible to visualize and interactively modify planning figures. You can present all key indicators graphically. The system processes any changes directly via liveCache.

The Idoc structure being used in PI is updated structure from R/3....but
Some of the data is splitting between 2 fields in sxmb_moni which is showing correctly in R/3.. WE02.
The IDoc is on sending side.....so no adapter....
plase give your inputs for this .
    Thanks.

Some of the data is splitting between 2 fields in sxmb_moni which is showing correctly in R/3.. WE02.
XI/ PI wont split the data unless and until a mapping program is used....so just check if your mapping is doing this split.

  • Mismatch between sound and video

When I watch a movie in iTunes of Apple TV (2gen) and I want to move it few seconds/ minutes and more backwards then it like "losing its mind",
the video jumps forward (a lot forward) and the sound stays the same, so ther is mismatchment between sound and video.
What can i do to solve this problem?
    Thank you!

  • Version Mismatch for Kernel and CPU after 10.6.4 update

I had a kernel panic in both Mac Pro and MacBook Pro after a usually no-brainer software update OS X 10.6.4....I tried all of the shortcuts (zapping PRAM, booting from other drives, safemode, etc) and I get the dreaded gray screen and restart message immediately,,,what can I do short of purchasing a new board for each machine?
I did disk verification and repairs via target disk mode from a third laptop, but the pro macs never get past the grey screen in order to give me the chance to update! The screen text says:
    "panic(cpu 0 caller 0x2x096e6) Version mismatch between Kernel and CPU PM"@/Source Cache/...
    Debugger called: <panic>"
What can I do to GET PAST the "version mismatch" and "ned to restart" screen to be ABLE to update?

Just tried installing the 10.6.4 update on my iMac i5. It began the usual shutdown, and I was expecting the install to begin. That never happened. 10 minutes went by at least. I forced it to shut down, and now it won't boot. Same as the OP - "Version mis-match between Kernel and CPU PM"
There is no option to boot from anything else, either. The machine won't boot from an original install CD, or from an install image I keep on USB. I tried zapping PRAM, and resetting SMC. At this point, I consider it bricked. Fortunately, I have a reasonably recent TM backup.
Won't have time to take it in until Monday. Sure hope someone has some insight before then.

  • Color mismatch between CS4 and Canon PIXMA PRO6500

Hi there! I am trying to research if anyone else is having a problem with color mismatch between CS4 and their printer. Last night I printed a .tiff image out of CS4 to my Canon PRO6500 printer and the sky came out purple / pink! It was supposed to be a stormy grey color. I have the color management turned off on the printer settings. I have CS4 manages color turned on and the correct ICC profile selected for the paper I am using. When I do a soft proof in CS4 the image looks fine, but when I print I get something completely different, mostly with the sky (purple / pink) color! Just for the heck of it I did a Print Preview under my Page Setup and guess what, the sky actually shows purple / pink! So I have no idea what's going on. I checked all my setting, ink cartridges, tried different paper with the appropriate ICC profile and no dice. Still have a goofy looking sky! I thought PROOFING the image is supposed to show you how the printed image is going to look? apparently it doesn't because it's not. The Print Preview has an accurate representation of the print but I have no idea where the pink / purple sky is coming from. They are supposed to be stormy clouds as I said. I appreciate any help anyone can provide .
    Sabciu

I have the color management turned off on the printer settings.
But do you have a measured color profile based on a sample print? Most likely not, so this is not doing anything in your favor. The current profile may present the defaults for a given printer, but not the actual density based on your other printer settings. So by all means, unless you can be sure to obey a full calibration throughout, turn on the printer CM. Also, since it is a Pro model, you may actualyl have to use the dedicated RIP software that was bundled with it to get correct results, not the default windows print engine.

  • Config mismatch between VSM and VPath - CSCum76142 bug

    Hi all,
I got the error message "Config mismatch between VSM and VPath" on my Nexus VSM but I could not see any detail regarding this bug ID due to permission issue. Has anyone else got access to see this bug detail and able to share? I need to know if this bug is critical or just cosmetic. Thanks

    Hi Robin,
This DDTS was Junked. But here's the workaround that is mentioned:
    1. Deleting the vservice config (no vservice) & reconfiguring vservice, will get rid of this mismatch issue.
    2. Toggling the port-profile should also work.
I see couple of other DDTS as well related to this and i would suggest to ask this question in "Other  Data Center Subjects" forum for detailed and quick answer.

    There r two time bucket profiles exist in DP & SNP, namely;
    a. Storage Bucket Profile - used to store the planning data.
    b. Planning Bucket Profile - used to plan and display the planning data. It can have both time span,
So rather than having two planning areas it better u create two Planning book for Promotion & BOM respectively.
You specify Storage Bucket profiles during setup of your Planning Area.
Planning Bucket profiles on the other hand are used to model how you would want to "see" the data for your Planning Areas. These profiles are specified during Planning Book cre

  • Contrast mismatch between Organizer and Editor

I can edit an image in Editor to where it looks great, to include the contrast, brightness, shadows, etc.  When I send it back to the Organizer, it look much too contrasty and dark.  When I use the same images in a slideshow originating in Organizer, they still look too contrasty.  Is there a way to correct this?  I'm using PSE 10 on a Windows 7 -64 bit machine. Thanks for any ideas.

Thanks for your quick response.  I just checked out the settings in both the Editor and Organizer and they're both set on "let me decide".  I'm not sure what to do on that one.  I could go with optimizing the computer screen with sRGB, or the Adobe RGB for the printer, or no management, or decide on the fly.  If I go with the computer, I guess I'd have to change it when I print a photo out, and vice versa.  Have any suggestions for me? Thanks again.
New update.  I have a Dell color laser printer, and I just checked the manual.  It offers both sRGB and AdobeRGB.  My priority is really to have a good printout.   If I check sRGB I should be safe for either print or computer, but I'm wondering if I'd get as good a printout with sRGB as with AdobeRGB.  The easiest might be to see what the printer is curently set on, and then set PSE Organizer and Editor to match it.  I'll do that, and then see if that helps the mismatch between Organizer and Editor.

  • Data mismatch between 10g and 11g.

    Hi
We recently upgraded OBIEE to 11.1.1.6.0 from 10.1.3.4.0. While testing we found data mismatch between 10g and 11g in-case of few reports which are including a front end calculated column with division included in it, say for example ("- Paycheck"."Earnings" / COUNT(DISTINCT "- Pay"."Check Date")) / 25.
The data is matching for the below scenarios.
    1) When the column is removed from both 10g and 11g.
    2) When the aggregation rule is set to either "Sum or Count" in both 10g and 11g.
It would be very helpful and greatly appreciated if any workaround/pointers to solve this issue is provided.
    Thanks
