Forecast weather no longer loads after beta 4.0b7 installed

forecast weather no longer loads after beta 4.0b7 installed; tried reinstalling add-on

If that is an extension that places info on the Status Bar then you can see if it help if you enable View > Toolbars > Add-ons Bar
If that doesn't help then you need to wait for the developer to update the extension or check if there is already an update available for current Firefox 4.0 (beta) versions.
If it is a web page then please provide a link for us to check.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • IPHOTO NO LONGER LOADS AFTER INSTALLING 10.4.10 on G4

After installing 10.4.10 on a G4 desktop, iPhoto no longer loads. When I try to rebuild library, the applications quits at the last instant. Any suggestions on how to fix or how to uninstall and get back to earlier system?

    Hello young:
Hopefully you had a backup of your system prior to updating. Going "back" will probably not help as it it unlikely that OS X 10.4.10 caused the problem (it has been ouut for awhile, and no similar problems have been noted, as far as I know).
I suggest that you do several things:
Run repair disk from your software install DVD.
Run repair permissions from your internal HD.
If those do not help, download the combo OS X 10.4.10 and reinstall it.

  • .mts files no longer working after erase and re-install.

I've been having a ton of crashes with Premiere CC. Now, after an erase and install I can't get .mts files to import natively. I get an error "file not supported" which has never happened before.
    Am I missing something?

  • CS4 After Effects no longer loading after installing Office 08

During the christmas break I installed Office 08 and its seamed to have mucked something up in CS4 After effects because it won't load anymore, the program starts loading the libraries and all that stuff at the splash screen and crashes when loading User interface
After effects worked fine before I installed office 08. Does anyone know what has happened and how to fix it? The strange thing is, it works on a couple of macs but the majority of the lab is having this problem.
I have tried heaps of things:
    - Totally uninstalled office 08 and its preferences
    - Uninstall CS4 and manually remove all the preference files
    - Locate the fonts folders and comparing the fonts with that of a working mac
    - Creating a new login account
    - Updated to After effects 9.0.2
After spending hours and hours and hours doing this, I have had no luck solving the issue. Help will be greatly appreciated... I will backup all the data and re-install Leopard next week if no-one knows how to fix this.

The failure appears to be in the FLV QuickTime component, which is an FLV exporter for QuickTime that Adobe Flash (or older Macromedia releases) installs into your [root]/Library/QuickTime folder.  After Effects loads any such component that QuickTime makes available (they appear under the File > Export menu).
First, try deleting the com.macromedia.FLVExporter in your [username]/Library/Preferences folder, if present.  Failing that, pull out the FLV QuickTime component I described above.
It is also theoretically possible that the failure is in the next component in the QuickTime components folder, not the FLV component.  You might could just pull out the entire contents of that folder and see what happens.

  • Adobe Desktop Application no longer loads after failing to install After Effects CC

    Hi,
I just tried to install After Effects from the Desktop Application and it failed. Not only that, the application crashed and won't load anymore. I tried a reboot and it didn't do anything. I can see the process "Creative Cloud" in Activity Monitor, but nothing in the Apple Toolbar where it normally resides.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I'm using Mac OS 10.7.5 on a Mac Pro.

You may need to uninstall and reinstall... running the cleaner after the uninstall
-using the cleaner after uninstalling and before reinstalling may help

  • ITunes no longer loads after updating to Windows 8.1.  I have tried every corrective step I've found on the web (reinstall, copy files, change permissions, etc.) nothing helps.  Has anyone heard if Apple is working on fix?

Itunes does not launch after updating to Windows 8.1.  I've tried every suggestion I can find on web (reinstall, copy files from other directories, change permissions, etc.).  Nothing works.  At best I can get the licensing agreement to show and then nothing.  Has anyone heard if a fix is in the works?

    Hi 3backpacker3,
It sounds like you are on the right track in troubleshooting this issue. If you are having launch issues, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Windows 7 will no longer load after Apple repair

I recently had my computer repaired through AppleCare.  They replaced the logic board, top cover, a connector and battery.  When I first got the computer back, I turned it on, booted to the Mac partition, everything was good.  I then booted to Windows with the Bootcamp partition and everything was good.  Even the stuff I had open before the damage were still up.  I shut it down, boxed everything up and didn't touch it until I got home.
When I got home, I booted up Windows 7 and now all I get is it boots to a black screen with the cursor.  I ran the repair utility, tried safe mode and it says no errors are found, however, it still won't load.  I haven't figured out why it booted up the first time I got the computer back but now it won't do anything.  I never got a chance to back everything up because my computer was damaged from liquid damage, but I can still see all the files on my Bootcamp partition through finder from the Mac side.
I don't know exactly why it's doing this or what to search to find an answer to the problem.  When I first got my MBP, I installed Windows 7 through and upgrade disc from my job, so I don't know what my next steps should be.  Sorry for the length, just trying to get this problem resolved.  Any thoughts?

  • Bridge CS5 "output templates" no longer loads; the output panel is blank. Where is the script?

Bridge CS5 "output templates" no longer loads after my system back-up; the output panel is blank.
The other Workspace features appear to be functional.
What/Where is the  output script supposed to be?

If it worked before and you have changed nothing I would reset the preferences.  Close Bridge then hold down the CTRL key and start Bridge.  You should get a reset window with 3 optons.

  • I can no longer load certain games on face book after updating to 4.0.1

after updating to 4.0.1 I can no longer load the game farmville or frontierville on facebook. i first tried to send a feed back and it indicated that I had the wrong version. I went through reseting the useragent as per your instructions but not all of your useragents you indicated were listed. I then tried again to send a feedback this time it went through but after entering my comments it would not send them. So do I uninstall firefox and start over? If I do what happens to my bookmarks?

It went a little farther this time after disabling AVG. The problem still exists it will not continue loading the app. It just goes dead there is no traffic on the sat modem, also it does not show any friends when I try to send gifts. All of this worked with the previous version of FireFox. I tried it with Google Chrome and everything worked just fine.
Thanks for the input - any other ideas?

  • MS Outlook 2007 takes very long to load after iTunes update

After updating iTunes - MS Outlook 2007 takes forever to load. If I uninstall iTunes problem fixed. Reinstall iTunes problem returns - any ideas?

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that webpages takes so long to load(some webpages can't even load) after upgrading to Windows Server 2008 R2.
Which server has been upgraded to Windows Server 2008 R2? And what is the OS version before upgrading?
    >If I add Fios DNS on DHCP's DNS, the webpages load so fast.
I am wondering that if the webpages mean Internet webpages. Check the settings on DNS server which connects to external network about forwarders or root hints. Or you may configure the Fios DNS as forwarder of your DNS server.
    >I can't use the computer name to access to other internal sites. I have to use IP address instead.
Open the DNS server and confirm that if corresponding DNS entries are correct. Besides, open CMD, type the command below and each line end with enter:
    Nslookup
    set d2
<computer name you want to access>
Post the result here, and also provide the ipconfig /all result here.
    >Workstations can't get the update Group Policy from DCs.
Make sure that you are running the most current drivers for your network adapter. If you are already running the most current drivers for your network adapter, run command line to update GP:
    gpupdate
If any problem, post the result/error message. And check the event viewer to see if related log there.

  • Garageband takes longer to load after the 5.2 update

I've found that Garageband '08 does not load correctly with the 5.2 update. Apparently, Garageband takes up to a minute or longer to load During this time, the initialization window is active, the Finder acts somewhat slower, and Garageband is listed as unresponsive in the Dock. Usually, it loads after a long period of time, and works, but once I quit GB, it has to load up for a long time again. I've seen in other threads that external iSight cameras and other audio-related peripherals can by the cause of this, but I do not use my FireWire iSight camera with my MBP, nor do I have any external speakers and whatnot. Right now, I just have Office 2008 installed alongside the other applications.
My question is what files, if any are conflicting with GB, should I look for? Or what would fix the problem as a whole? I understand that there were some other topics about this issue, but I don't think anyone has mentioned any tips in the past few days. I use GB a lot, so I could use some assistance. Any help would be appreciated.
    -MacUser

Since I end up waiting at least 30 seconds to 2 minutes or so for GB to open, I need to figure out if I should just reinstall OS X with the restore disks and leave it at that until a fix arrives... I'd rather not though. Apple, come on, release a patch or some sort of fix for it!
I did try to recreate the problem by using a FireWire iSight but even after doing that and fixing it, nothing changed. I saw in one thread that some people have GB working correctly for them while others do not, so surely there is something somewhere wreaking havoc with GB. This is really odd.

  • Photoshop elements no longer loads and closes after

I recently upgraded my Lightroom to 5.4 and now my Photoshop elements no longer loads properly.  Once I start the program is gets to the Organize and Edit screen and if I choose Organize the program immediately closes.  Any ideas since I seem to no longer be able to just call Adobe and talk to a real person and get an immediate answer.

Try trashing any preference files Elements creates: user/Library/Preferences. Other than that try re-installing the software. You could also ask on the Adobe forum area at their web site.

  • IPhoto Library Won't Load After 10.4.10 Combo Update (PPC)

After updating to 10.4.10 on a G4 desktop the iPhoto library will no longer load. Tried several times to rebuilt it and program quits unexpectedly just as it finishes rebuild. Ran repair disk permissions from HD and Repair Disk from DVD and re-installed 10.4.9, but problem remains. Had some trouble importing the last few photos (downloaded from an e-mail) before this problem occured (possible it is not related to 10.4.10 upgrade?). Been everywhere looking for a way to solve this, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Hi, redwood. You had trouble with the emailed photos because they had been compressed by the sender using Stuffit (that's what the .sit suffix indicates), and you didn't unStuff them before importing them. I'm surprised that iPhoto was even willing to try to import them. It certainly couldn't have displayed them in that form.
If you then trashed them and emptied the trash *within iPhoto*, I'm not sure why they should have continued to cause you trouble — but since I don't understand how they could have been imported in the first place, I wouldn't really expect to understand all the consequences.
If, instead, you trashed them from within the iPhoto Library folder using the Finder, doing so corrupted your iPhoto Library database and necessitated a rebuild — which ordinarily produces better results than it apparently did in your case. Perhaps there were files left in the iPhoto Library folder that still referenced the files you deleted, and iPhoto didn't know how to handle references to files that weren't in an image format.
Setting aside what we don't understand and may never understand, I suggest that you leave your present defective iPhoto Library just as it is for the moment, and try to determine whether the backup copy is usable. (Good for you for having one, by the way!):
Connect or insert the drive or disc that contains the backup iPhoto Library folder. Start iPhoto while holding down the Option key, and continue to hold it down until you're asked whether you want to Create or Find a library. Choose Find, then navigate to the backup Library folder and click Open. If it opens normally and everything seems to be in order in it, simply replace the bad library folder inside your account's Pictures folder with a copy of the backup library folder, and you're back in business. It if doesn't open correctly, post back with details of what happened.
Note that the only way to make a successful backup copy of your iPhoto Library is to copy the entire iPhoto Library folder *as a unit* to another storage volume (a volume is a hard drive, a partition on a hard drive that contains more than one partition, a CD, DVD, flash drive, or other storage medium). If your backup wasn't made this way, it won't be usable.
EDIT: Well, I was busily churning out my long reply while you were solving the problem. I'm glad it turned out well.
