Forecasting sales

Hello,
I am involved in a project that aims to obtain consumption estimations.
Despite having knowledge of forecasting models and know how to work in SAP, I find myself with a problem in the database.
In MM01, we can create a forecast for a product, however, this prediction is based on data values unplanned. There is a field where I can correct the data which where I've been puting the values of real consumption (and different data unplanned).
Given the amount of products concerned, it is unthinkable to do this manually, so I'm looking for a solution.
Is there a way to create a database in AHD, but I can't import the data.
Does anysomeone can help me?
Thanks

  • Sales Order / Forecasted Sale Order Report

    hi
How to create Sales Order / Forecasted Sale Order Report.

    Hi Raju,
Are you talking of normal sales order and in the Forecasted sale order report what are the inputs you are giving.

  • To generate planned orders throught MRP even without forecast/sales orders

Goor morning, we should send long term plan forecast to the suppliers, but in the system we're able to see just few weeks demand (lng term horizon is not still implemented). Do you think is possible to generate some planned order as MTS policy (based on the past consumption), even without any sales order or forecast inside the system? Tks in advance

    1) create a Plan IN MD61 with inactive version select the period as you want & enter  W- week in initial screen
    2) create a plan In MS31 and assign the created in active version plan in MS32 assign the plant and activate  independent requirement
    3) Run MRP in MS01, system will create a plan order for LTP
    4) and do the evaluation for created plan order in MS38.

  • Forecasting Sales BOM

    Hi
We have sales BOMS for KITS. We would like to place a forecast for thoes Kits, in order be prepared with the BOM components in Stock. We would like MRP to explode the BOM and create requirments for the Components.
We tried by creating a Sale Bom (type 5) and creating a forecast type VSE for the KIT item. A planned order is created but no bom is selected.
Any Ideas How to achive this Process
    Thanks

    Dear Rajesha Vittal ,
We set the header material of the KIT with strategy 50 with Individual 1 settings and all components as collective 2.
The problem is that no BOM is selected at all for the planned order that is created after MRP. I tried BOM type 3 and also 5.
    Thanks and regards,

    1)  WFCS01 - Transcation for Sales Forecasting
    2)  WFCSL02 - To delete obsolete logs of sales forecast
    3)  WFCS02 - To delete movement data for the sales forecast that is no longer valid
Also to maintain relevant datas in Forecast view of material master

  • ISupplier Forecasting, sales order demand and current INV levels?

    Hello,
My organization is considering implementing Oracle iSupplier. In playing with this in a test environment, I see that sales order demand and inventory levels are not pulled into the forecast. All I have been able to do is a blanket release against the blanket agreement and the qty that I put on the release is passed to the supplier side of the application. Is that it? I was hoping to have a more sophisticated calc on demand. Do I not have this setup correctly in me test environment?
    Thanks
    KPP

    >
Our need is to include the demand from sales order and current INV levels. Is that "do-able" with standard PO's? >
There is no way to translate demand from Sales orders into PO automatically. You have a couple of options
    1) Use ATO / back-to-back order functionality. That will create a Requisition / PO whenever a order is booked. And the PO will be visible in iSupplier. However, this will NOT look at onhand.
    2) Run min-max planning. This will automatically create requisitions / PO when your onhand falls below required minimum. You can configure this to optionally look at open sales orders. Once the PO is approved, it will show up on iSupplier.
    Hope this helps,

  • SOP- Sales forecast in $ value

    Hello,
Is it possible to enter a sale forecast is SOP or Flexible SOP in $ value of forecast sales, instead of at Quantity in "PCS". For example, we want to forecast for 6 months the sales of a product family. Is it possible in SOP or it must be done with CO/PA?

Edited by: Boaz Weinstock on Jun 30, 2008 4:37 PM

In the flexible planning, you should choose right planning type which has layout of sales value instead quantity.
Planning type is linked to a planning table.
Forecast comesup from history, CO/PA is used only for the cost benefit analysis.

  • Forecasting future sales orders all material requirement.

    Hi All
I have a requirement in our company :
The Material is Having Strategy Group as 20 for our product ( Make to Order Scenario)
The requirement is such that the sales team get some forecast sale orders from the customers which are intimated to Production team manually to keep the analysis; but based on the forecast order details they are not executing anything; once the sale order is confirmed by the customer then then only the production teams will do the planning (MRP) and production execution.
How can i send the forecast sale order details to production through system on for his analysis purpose.
But we need to use strategy 20 for our business.
Please tell  how to resolve our requirement.
    Thanks in Advance !!
    Thanks,
    Kesava

    Hello
If i understood your business requirement, you want to see the sales order on MD04, but you don't want to plan it until the customer confirmation. Is that right?
On the requirement class customizing (transaction OVZG) there is a setting called 'No MRP', where you can set the value '1 - Requirement not planned, but displayed'.
Your sales order should be created with a requirement type assigned to this requirement class. Later, when the customer confirm the order, you should change the requirement type to the default used by strategy 20.

  • Forecast Consumption in APO- No Data Available in Product View

    Hi Experts
I facing some problem in Forecast Consumption in APO. The APO system is connected to a R/3 system. So data relevant for Forecast consumption comes from R/3.
The allocation indicator in the requirement class assigned to the strategy maintained in the product master is set as " no consumption with customer requirement". and the same is transfered to APO.
I have the changed the settings in APO and here are the setting maintained in APO to enable Forecast Consumption.
    Product Master Setting:
    a) Consumption Mode: 2 ( forward and backward)
    b) Consumption Period: ( 30 days both backward and forward)
    c) Strategy Group : 20 and assignment mode is set to "Assign customer requirement to planning with final assembly" and category group has sales order - BM
    d) The check mode setting in the ATP tab is set to "Assign customer requirement to planning with final assembly"
I have a forecast for today's date and a sales order transferred from R/3 for the same date. But I do not see any data in the Forecast tab in the product view ( /sapapo/rrp3 Tcode)
Please let me know if I am missing any setting in APO. Or the SAles order carries the strategy information from R/3 and influencing the consumption any way.

    Hi,
What is your Forecast & Sales order quantity? If these are same then sales order consumed forecast, so you can not able to see in the rrp3.
Second thing try to increse the forecast quantity than sales order quantity & then check it.

  • Help Required on Raw Material forecast

    Hi,
I am not an SAP consultant/ technical user, i am just a helpless user.
What i am faced with is that i dont get to see RM requirements for future months based on the forecast/sales plan for finished goods entered in the system. I am just able to see decent requirements for the running month but very less/inaccurate requirements for the remaining months. it seems as if while calculating, the system does not take into account if anything is being sold or will be sold at all. I might be wrong but this seems to be the case.
I view the planned requirements in COOISPI and the requisitions in MD04.
The current MRP type set is:PD
Please help as to how to fix this issue or how do i guide the I.T department who themselves are not sure of a one track solution to this issue.
    Thanks.

    Anup,
    Thank you for reverting back.
    You got it right.
To verify how the system is working i have the pp rep upload the same sales plan for 5 months. So that we get to know what results to expect each month.
What they currently are doing  (detail with T-code):
Uploading  sales plan  to the active version through t-code  MCZS
Converting this to the active version through t-code OLIX
Re organizing the PIRs through t code MD74
Converting the sales plan to demand plan through MC8G
    Running the MPS/MRO through MD40
Once the MRP with sales plan for the future months inserted is run then i can see planned orders for future months in MD04 and COOISPI (planned orders are same in both reports, COOISPI just provides a better view without looking at the purchase requisitions) so basically i am considering the planned orders as my forecast at the moment.
I have tried comparing the values with the sales plan. The sales plan and planned orders after the MRP run do match but after the second month on wards. So for the first month the requirement is huge (safety stock+second month's requirement) and then as per the sales plan from second month on wards, the requirements end one month in advance to the sales plan (while viewing MD04). At RM level there are huge variations: e.g for an RM with average consumption of say 200 k kgs, i am able to see the first month at 168 k kgs then only 553 kg in the following month, and 1336 kg in the next.
Please let me know what other information you require from me.
    Thanks. Highly appreciate your concern.

  • FORECAST - Using Dax formulas

Hi, I am trying to build a forecast model that will enable me to my companies future orders.
I have created the following Tables:
    1. DATA - import from Access - It contains last 3 years monthly sales per product
    2. DATE TABLE - I use it as a calendar
    3. Forecast Table - List future forecast per product code
    4. Actual Sales Table - Display current sales
    5. PRD Range - Display all PRD Code
I had built also the following relations ships:
    1. Data Table - linked to Date Table, Forecast Table, and Prd Range
2.Actual Sales - linked to PRD Range and Forecast Table.
I am planning to add also:
    Stock Table
    Orders Table
I find it difficult to calculate Mean Absolute Error and general how to set up the whole model.
Any ideas how i can progress with this?
    Thanks.

    Hi Panteli,
According to your description, you are going to create a forecast model so that you can forecast the company's future orders, right?
We can create a forecasting model by using a combination of basic PowerPivot and Mining Plugins for Excel 2013, please refer to the links below to see the details.

  • Error FCEXEC in creating forecast

I am trying to create forecast in AWM with foodmart database. There are 5 dimensions, dim_timeall, dim_customer, dim_product, dim_store and dim_promotion, with 1 cube cub_salesfor. I followed example in OLAP Application's Developer Guide 10.2. Dim_timeall includes all of history period and forecast period with day as base level.
    First trial :
I made 2 measure with short decimal type and then I used them in fcexec :
FCEXEC handle TIME dimtimeall INTO forecast_sales SEASONAL forecast_sales_seasonal cub_salesfor
After I compile, there were error message :
ERROR: (ORA-33686) The time-series parameter to FCEXEC is not dimensioned by AW_20MAR!DIM_TIMEALL.
    Second trial :
I made 2 measure with short decimal type and I selected DIM_TIMEALL, DIM_TIMEALL_HIERLIST, DIM_TIMEALL_LEVELLIST, DIM_TIMEALL_TIME_START_DIM and DIM_TIMEALL_TIME_START_DIM1 in tab Dimension, and of course with the same fcexec.
But, I got the same error message.
    Somebody help me, please...

    Check the following:
    * forecast_sales is dimensioned by dim_timeall
    * forecast_sales_seasonal is dimensioned the same as forecast_sales. It may have extra dimensions, but it must have all the dimensions of forecast_sales. If it has extra dimensions, the status of the extra dimensions must be limited to a single value.
    * cube_salesfor is dimensioned the same as forecast sales. It may have extra dimensions, but it must have all the dimensions of forecast_sales. If it has extra dimensions, the status of the extra dimensions must be limited to a single value.
There is usually an SMSEASONAL parameter, but I don't know if it is required.

  • Sales Plan in SD Module.

    Hai SD Gurus,
Where Sales plan arrived in SD Module ? How it is transferred to PP Module.
    Regards,
    Mohanraju

    Hi Mohanraju,
    Sales Plans in Standard SOP
Various functions are available for creating and modifying sales plans in standard SOP:
    Manual data entry
    Arithmetic distribution functions
    Copying data from SIS
    Copying data from CO-PA
Forecasting sales quantities on the basis of past usage
    Transferring product group proportions
    Interactive graphics
For example :  Forecasting Sales Quantities on basis of past usage
The forecast is one way to obtain planning data in Sales & Operations Planning (SOP). If necessary, you can change the forecast results after you have copied them to the planning table.
Place the cursor in the planning table on the key figure (if you are planning the characteristic view) or the characteristic (if you are planning the key figure view) for which you want to carry out a forecast.
Select the columns of the periods you want to be forecasted by choosing Edit ® Select.
See also Selecting Columns in the Planning Table.
Choose Edit ® Forecast. Or, if you are planning product group or material sales quantities in the standard planning table, choose Edit ® Sales plan ® Forecast ® Execute.
The Model Selection dialog box appears.
Specify the start and finish dates of the period for which you want to forecast data.
Specify the start and finish dates of the historical period on which the forecast is to be based.
In standard SOP, the forecast is based on consumption data (historical usage data). In flexible planning, the historical values on which the forecast is based are actual data; that is, the forecast is based on the key figure values updated to information structures from the operational applications. In the case of level-by-level planning, you can define the forecast profile such that the forecast is based on consumption data or on the consumption data of a reference material. You maintain the reference material in the material master record.
Analyze the time series and, if necessary, correct the historical values (see Analyzing the Time Series and Modifying the Historical Values). Alternatively, you can base the forecast on the corrected historical values of the previous forecast version by setting the Corr. vals indicator in the forecast profile.
Check to see if the forecast profile displays settings you want to use. If not, choose a different forecast profile with Forecast profile.
Do not try to choose a different forecast profile by using the possible entries button in the field Profile.
    Choose Perform forecast.
The Forecast Parameters dialog box appears.
Define the forecast parameters for the selected model.
    Choose Perform forecast.
A dialog box displaying the forecast results appears (see Interpreting the Forecast Results).
If the forecast results are not what you expected, check the settings in your forecast profile.
If necessary, change the forecast results (see Changing the Forecast Results).
Flag the forecast results for saving in one of two ways:
    – Choose Copy results if you want to copy the forecast results into the planning table.
    – Choose Save if you want to save the forecast results in the forecast versions database but do not want to copy the forecast results into the planning table. The prerequisite for saving the results to the forecast database is that you have not set the indicator Do not save to forecast DB in Customizing (the Customizing activity is Set parameters of info structures and key figures).
To save the forecast version, you must save the planning version by choosing Planning ® Save in the planning table.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Forecast higher levl/lower levl

    HI,
Forecast can be done at any level. is there any rules how to decide which level( higher/lower) suits for our industry? whats advantage and disadvantage of higher and lower level forecast? which is recomemnded by SAP?
    please explain with example...
    regards
    rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
On what level forecast has to be generated is decided by the industrial requirement.
There is no specific rule for it.
Accuracy of statistcial forecast which is generated by the system is highest at higher level.
When statistical forecast is done at lowest level there is higher chance of variance in the forecast & sales
due to which accurcay is afftected. At such times we need to use various models and check which one suits the best.
Ideally statictical Forecast should be generated on intermediate level.
eg. sku, region level instead of sku dealer/customer level.
Option can be given for customers or dealers to forecast.
    Regards,
    Chetana

  • APO DP key figures forecast

    Hello,
can anybody explain the different key figures for forecast:
    e.g.
    9ADFCST  statistical forecast
    9AAFCST sales forecast
    9AREVFC sales revenue forecast
    9APPROD logistics forecast
    9AMANUP final forecast
    9AADDKF4 forcast deviation
    9AADDKF5 customer forecast
    What is the difference?
Where does the information/values come from?
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
9ADFCST statistical forecast - Generated based on historical input
9AAFCST sales forecast - Sales forecast is the forecasted values by sales.
9AREVFC sales revenue forecast - Sales revenue from forecast values
9AMANUP final forecast - Corrected forecast values via manually
9AADDKF4 forcast deviation - Forecast difference between actual sales minus the forecasted qty
9AADDKF5 customer forecast - Forecast values given by customer.
