Forefront clients not reporting correctly
Hi guys
Here at work, we have 2 Forefront management servers which are being used to provide policies for a large number of different managed customers (different networks, domains, etc).
We're having an issue where some FEP clients are updating correctly and working fine but the Forefront reporting on the management server is saying otherwise. I've noticed that for some clients, the policy showing as installed when looking at the
registry isn't tying up with what the report console shows.
I've tried re-applying the required policies to some of the clients for a test but this has made no difference. I can't see any pending actions on the MOM console, etc.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Hi,
Did the Forefront Client Security Management Server computer display as an
agent-managed computer on MOM Administrator console and appear in Forefront Client Security reports? If not, maybe it is due to the FCS Management Server computer does not communicate correctly with the collection server. Please make sure that you have installed
the MOM agent on the FCS Management Server computer. In addition, I would appreciate it if you can provide some screenshots of the MOM console and the related information of the report on the FCS management server.
Best regards,
Susie

Captivate Quiz Not Reporting Correctly in LMS
I am using Captivate 5.0 to publish a project to an EKP LMS. I am able to get the file to show complete in the LMS, but the quiz is not reporting correctly. Instead of a percentage it is reporting the number of points earned. Is there any way to have a percentage reported instead? I would appreciate any suggestions. Grace
Hi Grace,
Can you check the Highlighted part and reset your Radio button to 'Percentage'--
Thanks,

Mac OS Version not reported correctly in ARD
Using ARD admin 3.7.2 the screen displays Mac OS Version as 10.9.2 but on the computer "About this Mac" clearly shows OSX 10.9.3.
Other computers that are running 10.9.3 show correctly. I have re-scanned but no change. Deleted computer from "All Computers" and re-scanned, no change.
Why are certain computers not reporting their current Mac OS Version correctly?I discovered that if I did the "Upgrade Client Software", the Mac OS Version shows correctly now. The client software was already 3.7.1 but apparently re-installing it fixed the problem.

I too have many clients that have not reported to the Wsus Server.
The clients are listed in the All Computers group of WSUS
I have created target groups
The computers are listed in the correct target groups
I have approved update for the target group
Clients are not reporting at all

What do you mean by "not reporting"... they're listed in the console? What is the "Last Contact" date? What is the "Last Reported Date".
Run a detection event on one of the clients and post the results from the WindowsUpdate.log.

We have recently upgraded our WSUS server to Windows 2012 R2. Now none of the PCs reporting their status to the WSUS server and not getting updates at all. The PCs are contacting the Server but not reporting their status. Stopped the Firewall on Client and
Server. BITS and windows updates services are running.
Record the system time of the Windows 7 client.
Reboot the Windows 7 client.
Run this command from a command prompt: wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow.
Wait =30= minutes.
Performed the above steps. Please see the updates logs from a client.

HELP! Capital One not reporting correctly
Hello everyone,I filed my case BK 7 on 05/15/2015, had my 341 meeting, and am now patiently awaiting my discharge to arrive in the mail. I've been monitoring my credit report via CreditKarma and have been noticing most of my accounts being updated as, IIB, and closed with zero balances. Capital One, however, is not showing "included in bankruptcy." The balance was updated to $0, but the payment status shows, "Collection/Charge Off." I called Capital One and they told me they sold the account to a collection agency and there was nothing they could do to report the account as IIB. They said that when they had the account, they could have reported it correctly, but since they sold the account, they only report information from when they owned the account. They gave me the new account owner and told me this is who I should contact. I understand what the rep is saying, but I can't believe that this account can not be updated to report as IIB. Will this account continue to report on my CR as a charge off? Has anyone else run into this issue? Please help! I am trying to get my reports as cleaned up as possible before my discharge. Thank you in advance for your repies!

It is valid because they sold the debt to a collection agency prior to your filing. They do not own it anymore. So they report it as Collections/Charge Off. If/When the new creditor decides to report it to your credit report, it will have to say zero balance, and IIB. And yes, the CA will be able to report it even if it was discharged (so long as reporting is accurate) as it was sold/transferred prior to your filing.With all do respect I disagree wholeheartedly with this. Yes, creditors can and do report accts previously sold/charged off prior to filing, as such. However I do not feel that it has to end this way. My recent experience with getting an original creditor (Credit One) to report as iib/0/closed, is a testament to this. Basically, I had 2 creditors reporting to Equifax that my CH7 discharged accounts were 'sold/transferred/charged off'. Naturally, like the OP, I was concerned and didn't think this was right. So, I filed an initial online dispute with Equifax, against the entries for both creditors. Ultimately Equifax found in favor of the creditors, stating that they were reporting correctly. I was LIVID! After that, I filed a second dispute, this time via certified mail and providing copies of my Schedule F inclusion of both creditors, as well as a copy of my discharge order. Similarly, Equifax again found in favor of the creditors and refused to adjust the entries. Here is where it gets better and where I hope it gives you something to look forward to: I gathered all of my documentation up and called Equifax on the phone. My initial motive for placing the call to Equifax was to get an answer to one simple question: "How could anything that the original creditors report to you, supersede documents from a discharged US Bankruptcy order?' I spoke to a halfbrained CSR at first and asked exactly that question. After haggling a bit, his ultimate answer was that he couldn't disclose any information to me on what response was given from the original creditors. This is a clear violation of law. The CB's must provide to anyone who disputes a credit entry, the exact data included in the response from the creditor. Hearing "I cannot disclose" from this CSR sent me into stratospheric anger. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The call took a better turn. After reviewing my schedule F inclusion of the creditors and the discharge papers, the Equifax supervisor agreed that the creditors were reporting unfairly and inaccurately. The supervisor has the 'Specialty Department' make the two entries for these creditors immediately update to 'iib/0/closed'. All is well with that aspect of my story. My point is, don't lie down and just give up OP. Just because the original creditor doesnt' have to play ball, doesn't mean you can't get it reported the way you need it to. Be persistent. Gather your papers and call them. Don't lay down and accept it. -
ZAM Clients not reporting unless requested
Hello. It appears that most of the clients (just over 2,000 PCs) in my environment are not reporting inventory when scheduled. If I run a report to find all workstations, and then select them and click on Scan Selected Workstation now (one page at a time, it takes a while), they eventually show up.
I only have one collection option set and one collection schedule.
On a couple sample PCs not reporting, I found that the following registry entry is blank:
HKLM\Software\Tally Systems Corp\TSCensus\CollectionClient\WifName
The following registry entry uses the host name, not the IP address, but every problematic PC I've tested can ping the host name.
HKLM\Software\Tally Systems Corp\TSCensus\CollectionClient\HostName
We're still mostly (95%) a Win2k environment, so PC a firewall is not the issue.
In the CPS.INI files, all I have are two section headings, no data. What else should be in there?
[CollectionServer]
[CollectionClient]
I added the "diagnostic=2" line at the bottom of the CPS.INI file on my workstation (WinXP) and I get the Collection Client and ColW32 results windows. They are long, but I'll include mine from today. My laptop is wireless, so it won't have an IP address and can't connect to the Asset Inventory server (WIASSET) right away. Thanks for reading, I hope someone can help.

Thanks,
RoddYou have a few issues / potential issues in there:
1) HKLMSoftwareTally Systems CorpTSCensusCollectionClientWifName should be
empty for much of the time, so probably not an issue unless this is blank
during a scan.
2) HKLMSoftwareTally Systems CorpTSCensusCollectionClientHostName should
hold the resolveable hostname or IP address of the Collection Server. Have
you tested this by putting th IP address in instead, then restarting the
Collection Client service? This will rule out any name resolution issues
(you might also want to try a FQDN so it's definitely using DNS not
NetBIOS to resolve the name)
3) CPS.ini typically has the following:
[CollectionServer]
HostName=<coolection-server-hostname or IP adress>
[CollectionClient]
Inbox=InboxCC
But it will be initially blank (and often stays blank) if you deploy the
CLient via Remote Client Installer - I have no idea why.
4) "My laptop is wireless, so it won't have an IP address and can't
connect to the Asset Inventory server (WIASSET) right away" - it should be
able to if you restart the Collection Client after your wireless
connection is established - can you pls confirm?
From the diagnostic output:
5) 10/12/07 08:00:23 CreateListener: port=7461; inbox=C:Program
FilesNovellZenworksAsset ManagementtbinInboxCC
I'm guessing the double 't' in "Asset Managementt" is something you
configured by accident, e.g. a typo when using RCI? Not sure if this
could be relevant.
6) 10/12/07 08:00:39 server connection failure
and
10/12/07 08:30:21 ConnectForScanMode to WIASSET (0.0.0.0)
Looks like the Client can't connect to your Collection Server as it can't
resolve it (0.0.0.0) at the time the Client service starts. Try
configuring with the IP address as in (2) above: If the Client cannot
connect, I'm pretty sure it retries every 30 minutes - but it may or may
not try to re-resolve the address... so if it caches WIASSET as 0.0.0.0 it
may never reconnect automagically.
Sending the "scan now" signal from the server will wake it up & it sounds
like this sorts out the name resolution issue (if that's what it is).
7) 10/12/07 10:10:45 Received request for identity information.
10/12/07 10:10:46 Sent Identity info
FYI this is Network Discovery (coincidentally) scanning the machine - so
you definitely have IP connectivity by this point in time (at )*:30 by the
look of it).
- What is the Collection Schedule set to (Once, Daily, Weekly etc.) and
does it have an end date set?
- Do you have any machine type filters set in the Collection Option Set?
- Is the Collection Option Set associated to the Collection Schedule? -
MBAM clients not report device users
Hi all,
I have installed MBAM 2.5 infrastructure with some mbam clients on laptops.
My problem is that mbam clients (ver. 2.5.0244.0) don’t report the information about device users to MBAM Recovery and Hardware DB, but one client (ver. 2.1.0117.0) does it.
Any ideas on how to fix?
Regards,
Alexcan you confirm if the group policies are flowing down to the affected machines? (regedit
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\FVE )
older version of MBAM clients will report to the newer version of the MBAM IIS server.
Also see if URLs when posted on IE does asks for a prompt.

FortiClient SSL VPN Client Not Functioning Correctly
Hello,
I use the FortiClient SSL application to connect to work. In Windows 7 x64 it works without issue. In Windows 8 Build 9200 it exhibits and odd behaviour.
I can connect using FortiClient version 4.4.3.445. Once connected my sent bytes continues to increase which is correct. However received bytes stays at 0.
If I try to Remote Desktop it fails. This is obviously due to no inbound packets coming back from the Fortigate appliance being allowed back to Windows 8.
Disabling the Firewall doesn't have any affect on the condition. Received bytes stays at 0.
This is a clean install with no 3rd party applications, other than the Forticlient software. This is only the SSL VPN portion of the the FortiClient software and does not included AV or Firewall options.
Doing some Googling, I've seen some other people with the same problem but no resolution. Another FortiClient user and Sophos & Juniper SSL VPN clients having the same problem.
Does anybody have any idea what would be causing the SSL VPN to only send bytes but not receive.
Thanks!
UPDATE 2:
In the built in MSTSC.exe "Remote Desktop" I went into Options/Advanced/Server Authentication. I switched the setting to "Connect and don't warn me" and that fixed the problem. The default was "Warn Me' However the warning screen was not coming up.
Just for the heck of it I switched it back to the default settings and saved. Strangely I now get the "Warning" screen that you would normally see. So now both the built-in and App Store Remote Desktop applications are working. FortiClient still shows Bytes
received as 0.....which is odd.
UPDATE: Solved Workaround
I was using the built-in Remote Desktop Application without success. I went into the APP Store and saw their was an APP called "Remote Desktop" I installed that and connected my FortiClient SSL to work. Still no received bytes like I would get in
Win7. I then launched the "APP" Remote Desktop, punched in my PC name at work and creds and boom I can login to my work PC. FortiClient SSL still showing no received bytes, but the "Remote Desktop" from the APP store does work. Not sure why MSTSC.exe will
not work, and why FortiClient shows no received bytes is still unsolved. At least the APP Store Remote Desktop works with the SSL Client.Hello Everyone,
I finally able to track down the issue .
After spending 3 days i found that VPN Client may bind some setting with user. I tried to install the same on my personal laptop and another machine where the user bind with same account
(hotmail).
Then I realize may be this is user issue so I follow below steps and it work fine.
1. Uninstall Client from Machine
2. Remove same from IE ( Options =>> Connections)
3. Restart System
4. Create Local user and provide administrator rights.
5. Login with new user and logoff all other.
6. Install Client. -
Mail notifications for Eudora clients not displaying correct information in message subject
I have been using PMDF from Innosoft with Netscape Calendar Server 4.0. I
recently upgraded from Calendar Server 3.51 to 4.0, and I am using the
sendmail command to
send out email notifications. When I send out email notifications, clients
who use Eudora and who are on a Windows platform do not see the correct
information in the Subject line of the emails. This problem does not occur
with other email clients, including Eudora clients on Macintosh platforms.
This problem also does not occur when I send email using the natives endmail
binary.
<P>
The following line is an example of the Subject line that is displayed when
a Eudora client on Windows views an email notification:<BR><P>
Subject: Wallace (xsw),Brian SmlhbiBT
<P>
Is there is a way to configure how Calendar Server writes the Subject lines
for email notifications?
<P>
Check the setting for the character set that is being used for the content
portion of email messages. This setting is in the Calendar Server
configuration file, which is located at<BR>
<P>
/users/unison/misc/unison.ini
<P>
The mimecontentcharset
parameter under the [CWS]
section determines what character set is used to encode the content and subject
portion of a (MIME) email message.<BR>
<P>
The accepted values for the mimecontentcharset
parameter are as follows:<BR>
<P>
ISO-8859-1
Shift_JIS
MSCP932
<P>
The default value is ISO-8859-1
.<BR>
<P>
For more information about the steps for configuring the Calendar Server,
please see the Netscape Calendar Server 4.0: Administrator's Guide at
<BR>
<P>
http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/calendar/ncs40/ag/chapter7.htm#1019632Try first disabling any custom rules you may have, and see whether that makes a difference. If the problem persists, proceed as follows.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all the filesystem issues, if any, and ensuring that there’s enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), try this:
1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong, e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down. This is where all your mail is locally stored.
3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see any other “Envelope Index”-named file there, delete it as well.
4. Move any “IMAP-”, “Mac-”, or “Exchange-” account folders to the Trash. Note that you can do this with IMAP-type accounts because they store mail on the server and Mail can easily re-create them. DON’T trash any “POP-” account folders, as that would cause all the mail stored there to be lost.
5. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be “imported”. Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index — Mail says it’s “importing”, but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
6. As a side effect of having removed the IMAP account folders, those accounts may be in an “offline” state now. Do Mailbox > Go Online to bring them back online.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library. -
LineNumber not reporting correctly
Hi Everyone
I've been working on a side project of mine that helps me learn powershell and incorporate other languages, and I've hit a bit of a roadblock.
My powershell script basically reads the latest entry (the last line) of a logfile everytime the logfile has been updated. When the logfile updates, the script reads the last line of the logfile and searches for 2 specific words; GameStart and GameEnd.
Once it finds 'GameStart' it is supposed to remember the LineNumber and continue to read the latest entries until it finds 'GameEnd' and remember its LineNumber.
The problem I'm having is no matter the line position, GameStart is always report LineNumber 0 and GameEnd is relevant to only the position of GameStart, and not the actual LineNumber. (So if GameEnd is found 77 lines down, it reports LineNumber 77 which is
not the actual LineNumber)
I'm using this section of code to monitor the logfile for updates:
http://dereknewton.com/2011/05/monitoring-file-system-changes-with-powershell/
For testing purposes, I just have the below lines to confirm if the position of GameStart and GameEnd reports back with the correct line number:
$changed = Register-ObjectEvent $watcher1 "Changed" -Action {
$GameStart = Get-Content 'c:\path-to-log\logfile.log' -Tail 1 | select-string -pattern '(GameStart)'
$GameEnd = Get-Content 'c:\path-to-log\logfile.log' -Tail 1 | select-string -pattern '(GameEnd)'
if ($GameStart)
Write-Host $(Get-Date -format T) "GameStart entry found on line "$GameStart.LineNumber
else ($GameEnd)
Write-Host $(Get-Date -format T) "GameStart entry found on line "$GameEnd.LineNumber
Any ideas to get the GameStart and GameEnd to report back the actual correct LineNumber?You can't have a true line number without dealing with the entirety of the file, so I pulled it all in with
Get-Content 'c:\path-to-log\logfile.log'
then used
| select-string -pattern '(GameStart)'
to filter out only the lines that contained the pattern.
I wrapped all that up as an array with the @() syntax to get
@(Get-Content 'c:\path-to-log\logfile.log' | select-string -pattern '(GameStart)')
and then chose only the last member of the array with the [-1] index. -
Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on why a client would not select the "better" AP? This particular client see's 4 AP's and one of them is obviously the better one at -64. Yet it inists that it wants to connect to one of the worst ones at -84. There is no logic in it, and I don't see a way to force to to connect to the closer AP.
Thanks,
Dan.Dan,
Most times the controller will instruct an AP to reduce power if it detects co-channel interference i.e another AP transmitting on the same channel. I am not really a great advocate of auto power settings because most times APs are at full blast until there is co-channel interference. Max power encourages hidden node problem.
Regarding what rates, it's hard to say because clients may support different data rates at the same RSSI level. For 802.11g, mandatory rates are 6,12, and 24. Hence you could disable 6 and 9 or change to supported and set your mandatory to 12 or disable 6,9, 12 and set mandatory to 24.
What is the distance of the problem client in relation to both APs? Have you taken the client closer to the AP behind the cinder wall and see if it still stays on the other AP. -
FTP connections through Finder not reporting correct file size
Hi,
I have a NAS that running as an FTP server. When I connect to it through Finder it reports the incorrect file size of 2.7GB (the real file size is 61GB)
Its an DMG image file so it obviously fails when I try to image a new IMAC.
FTP through windows reports the correct file size so rules out any problem on the NAS.
Any ideas anybody?

For one item, I check one particular batch. A sales order with Qty 5 was copied to delivery note(fully delivered qty 5). On the Batch Number Transactions Report the delivery has Allocated -5 and Direction u2018Allocatedu2019.
Why is the Delivery Note showing 5 units with a direction of allocated, rather than out?Hi Maeve,

Crystal Reports in 8.5 not reporting correctly after upgrade
Has anyone experienced issue running Crystal Reports after upgrading to BI 7.0?
Specifically our finacial reports will not show detail level descriptions from BW queries created in 3.5 with hierarchies.
All was functioning fine last time we checked prior to upgrade. We have tried setting the display level in the heirarchies from the queries and even creating from scratch but Cost Element Descriptions do not appear.Thanks for the hints. I took out the databind() and it still throws the same error.
Also, I tried adding
crReportDocument.SetParameterValue("pi_letters", "LETTERXXX")
just before setting ReportSource and I get the following error:
Failed to open the connection
This confirms to me that the push method is not being used by the application/report since the report is still trying to open a connection with the database and is throwing this error when the logon credentials are not supplied.
Can someone tell me why the push method is not working here? I have a valid dataset, so my thinking is that I shouldn't have to go through the trouble of supplying parameters and logon credentials to the report.
