Forefront is rejecting emails due to content restrictions - more on this subject!

Hi All,
We are running Forefront 2010 with Exchange 2007 on Server 2003.
During the last couple of weeks Forefront has been rejecting emails sent from a couple of domains due to Content Restrictions, the logs says that the emails are above the threshold of 9.
We have tried getting these senders to send just simple emails with no attachments etc and the same still happens. There does not look to be links in email footers etc.
These domains dont look to be on blacklists according to MX Toolbox.
I have put a couple of domains in the content allowed list but I am nervous that we are missing other emails that this system is rejecting. Clearly we want spam blocked but something is odd somewhere if simple text emails from our customers etc are being rejected
as above "9".

I had made no change whatsoever in my policy.
The only remarkable thing to report was that there was a power failure for my server around the time the problems started.

    We're using forefront protection for exchange 2010 and every once in a while the Cloudmark anti-spam signatures will block important clients from sending us email. Reporting the emails to [email protected] doesn't always get the issue

  • App rejected (again) due to content that didn't update

    This is strange.
    After the last rejection due to iPad 3 compatibility issues, we uploaded a new binary to Apple and made some changes to the content of the folio that was regarded as "objectionable" which consisted of a complete article and an image in the TOC article.
    After updating the folio, the article was removed, but the TOC article didn't update and was left as is with the problematic photo that caused the rejection.
    After achiving and downloading again, the correct content appeared.
    What's going on here?

    i have used window migration assistant to move emails in windows pc to mac. mails mostly moved without problem but some of them moved without content. i tried to find out if there is anything common in these emails of problem but cannot identify any hint. please help

    The Dropbox folder is a subfolder of the home folder, which has the same name as the user account. It's under the Users folder at the top level of the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.)

  • FSE Marking ALL Inbound Email as Spam due to Content

    New installation. All inbound mails are marked as Spam by Cloudmark for Content. From anyone:  Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, O365... all mail(even when testing from the Edge server itself to itself by telnet 127.0.0.1 25).
    New, greenfield installation:
    Windows Server 2012 DC's, Windows Server 2012 functional level
    Exchange 2013 All roles (CAS/Mailbox) on Windows Server 2012
    Exchange 2010 Edge Server with Forefront Protection for Exchange 2010 on Windows 2008R2
    Cloudmark engine is updating successfully and shows today's date as the version.
    ALL emails inbound
    Logs show: 
    When I set Forefront to stamp and continue processing (it goes into junk mail):  "FSE Content Filter Agent,OnEndOfData,AcceptMessage,,SCL,9"

    I think you have encountered a problem that all of incoming mails were treated as SPAM. The information that you provided indicates that these mails were marked as SCL rating 9 which will be deleted, rejected or
    quarantine . However, normal mails should be mark as SCL-1 and these mails usually  can be forwarded.
    Please check the configuration with following steps:
    What are the allow words or block words you defined before ?
    How did you dispatch SCL rating  for different mails ?
    How were the mails treated in each SCL rating

  • No Content in Approve/Reject Email sent to SC approver.

    Dear Experts,
    Approve/Reject shopping cart Email sent to the  approver does not have the content saying Approve or reject a shopping cart however other users are getting correct Email content. I would like to know why the system is sending blank email content to the only this user? Is it something change to the user settings? If any one has come cross this issue. Please help me on this.

       Are you able to see the content in SCOT-utilities-overview of send orders.. then select the email and choose the display document button.. which will show the email content..if you see content there but not in email then problem with the mail client...

    We are running Exchange 2010. I have a couple of users who are not receiving emails due to our content filter. When I check the message tracking log in our Edge Server it points to a 550 5.7.1 Message rejected as spam by Content Filtering. I guess my question
    is, how do I check to see what message in that particular email trigger the email as being spam???? Is this possible?

    While the IMF can be somewhat helpful, it can be a detriment if you as the administrator don’t remember or even realize that it was installed on the server in the first place.  This can be especially troublesome when you have an additional 3rd party
    filtering service in place.  If you have IMF installed it essentially means you are double filtering your mail, once at the 3rd party spam filter and once at the Exchange Server. In cases that a 3rd Party Filtering is in place we typically recommend disabling
    the IMF feature. This is of course just a recommendation and you should do whatever you feel is best for your network environment.
    How Does the IMF Identify Messages as Spam?
    When a message reaches an Exchange Server with IMF installed, IMF will evaluate the textual content of the messages and then assign the message a Spam Confidence Level (SCL) rating from 1-9 based on the probability the message is Unsolicited Commercial Email
    (UCE).  This rating is then compared to the threshold set under Message Delivery Properties > Intelligent Message Filter in the Exchange System Manager.
    How Do I Find Messages in the IMF?
    Theoretically the IMF is supposed to place messages that it found as spam in your Outlook Junk Folder. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always tend to be the case.  If you have reports that messages are “missing” on your server and you can’t find them, check
    the IMF! To check this service, you will need to make sure that you have the Archiving option enabled. You can view the *Archived folder location here: C:program files[YOUR SERVER]mailroot[SMTP VIRTUAL SERVER]ucearchive.
    *To view these archived messages you will need to download and install a 3rd-party tool.  If you have any recommendations regarding these tools, please leave them in the comments below.
    Where is IMF installed?
    When IMF is installed a new tab is added to the Exchange System Manager. For Exchange 2003, the tab is under Message Delivery > Properties under Global Settings.
    There is also a new Intelligent Message Filtering node under Protocols > SMTP – This is where you enable IMF.
    For Exchange 2007, it is under Exchange Management Console Server Configuration > Hub Transport > Anti – Spam.

  • Rejected Email...FURIOUS AT VERIZON!

    Taking to the forum as I've given up trying to reach Verizon directly about their inappropriate and horrendous business practices.  Todays issue:
    Received an email from an old friend whose email is with Verizon.  I replied directly to them via their email and it was immediately rejected by V saying "571 Email from **.**.**.*** is currently blocked by Verizon Online's anti-spam system. The email sender or Email Service Provider may visit http://www.verizon.net/whitelist and request removal of the block."  The exact same thing happened when a long time customer requested a quote on a cruise and when I responded directly to their email... V bounced it back!
    I completed their form and submitted it only to receive the following email:  "After investigation, Verizon Online Security has determined that e-mail from your IP address will not be allowed access to the Verizon Online e-mail domain due to one or more of the following reasons: Your IP has been blocked because of spam issues or because your ISP indicates that it is dynamically assigned"
    **bleep**... our email is sent out via our dedicated server which has a Static IP address and has for a few years now.  WE DO NOT SPAM, NEVER HAVE, NEVER WILL.  Verizon's response is wrong, but just try to get someone to discuss this issue.  I thought replying directly to Verizon's email address included in their signature ([email protected]) would reach a live person and we could resolve this issue. NOOO... that would be too easy!  Sending a request for help to [email protected] only resulted in... you guessed it... Verizon bounced this one back as well with the same message as before, their server is blocking our IP address.
    OKAY... so now we do it the old fashioned why, we call Verizon and ask if I could actually speak to someone who has a clue.  What do I get?  An automated response asking me for my V account number... which I do not have as I am not a V customer.  So the automated system asked for my zip code to direct me to the appropriate person... FINALLY, some help!  WRONG... I enter my zip code and V says "Verizon no longer services your area... goodbye" and they disconnect me.
    I will next contact the BBB and file a formal complaint, and if that doesn't get immediate action I will contact an attorney, since Verizon is blocking my email I am not able to reply to customers or clients who have a V email account... thus costing me business and creating a financial loss.
    How much does it cost V annually to "buy" a high rating from consumer groups?  My experience over the years says their customer satisfaction rating should be a -D at best.  If V doesn't correct their wrong immediately,  I will  be posting on our website that all our customers/clients should create an email account other than V and why, also recommending they stop doing business with V and why!
    Customer service begins with making yourself available... V should try it sometime.

    I am losing my carriage returns when sending emails using the Internet email vi's.
    All carriage returns are stripped out and I get one long word wrapped paragraph.
    I want to avoid html.
    Ideally, using the vi's for rich text would be perfect, but a simple text message with carriage returns and line feeds in any font ok.

  • Parental Controls Content Restrictions do not work correctly in iTunes?

    I cannot seem to get the content restrictions to fully work in the iTunes Store. The Content Restrictions state that I will not be able to preview, purchase or subscribe to content that is marked as explicit:
    But after setting the Applications level to 4+ and making sure the "Restrict explicit content" box is checked:
    I am still able to view apps for a 17+ audience. The "Entertainment" section of the App Store is filled with applications that feature sexually graphic content (i.e. pictures of nude women in suggestive positions.) The settings do stop me from purchasing the apps. The "Buy App/Get App" button is grayed out so I cannot get the app, but I am still able to preview the app, including screen shots of graphic content along with detailed descriptions.
    Is there a step that I missed? How do I make the 17+ apps not visible? I do not want to disable the entire App store, just the explicit content.

    I do not understand why APPLE is making it Rocket Science to protect our kids from this por-nography through their Store.
    I have been in a dialgue with APPLE now for 2 weeks about the APP's that continue to come up, and researching further their podcasts also. They continue, as recommended here, to suggest that you complain to the a feedback link that, unfortunately, ends with a thank you and we will not be contacting you personally about this.
    My suggestion is that you go to one of their 24 hour response links, here is one! (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html?form=app_store&topic=App%20Stor e&subtopic=Downloading%20and%20updating%20Applications) and complain there. It is their respondsibility to manage their content.
    The other suggestion is to notify everyone you know of your issue with APPLE and encourage them to also notify APPLE!
    Everyone that I have notified is equally dissatisfied with APPLE.
    Shame, we have to go so far to get APPLE to do what's right!
