Foreign Language in Print Dialog for Officejet K5400

HP Officejet Pro K5400 on Windows XP
Although the tabs and the first screens in the print dialog box are in English, suddenly there is a foreign language in the dialog boxes under Properties.  For example, under features (English tab), the Paper Type is Almindelgt papir and the Paper Source is Valg automatisk.  Photo fix is Fra, Grundlaeggende, or Fuld.
I have searched online and found instructions for changing an HP dll file for several printer models but not this one.
Uninstalling and reinstalling from the CD or as a fresh download from HP did not fix it.
I suspect it has something to do with new installation of Adobe Reader X, but uninstalling it did not fix it.
I called HP tech support and was told to call Microsoft.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks!

  • How to change language in print dialog ?

    Hi,
    I use the following piece of code to start printing:
                PrinterJob printJob = PrinterJob.getPrinterJob ();
                printJob.setPrintable(printable);
                printJob.setPrintService(printService);
                if (printJob.printDialog(attributes)) {
                    .... printing
                }I want to translate all the messages in the print dialog into polish, but I don't know how to do it. In case of dialogs such as JFileChooser it is easy, and can be done by UIManager.put(key, value) But how to modify the printing dialog ?
    Thanks for any help,
    KuBuSiEk

    If it's the whole LR UI, then you'll find the language settngs in LR's preferences dialog.  LR doesn't control the print dialog though.  Which OS?  Checked your OS language?

  • Printing a report and using the print dialog for it

    i already have the print dialog vi from NI. I am using the normal report generation toolkit for printing reports. But I want to give the user an option to choose the number of pages and landscape/portrait options. But how do I integrate the 2 so that before printing the user can select these features.

    There is an activeX control that will set these settings. It is called IAS Helper COM Component 1.0 Type Library. It operates the Windows printer configuration program. Since another company wrote the code, I do not have the resources to help you use the control, but the attached example program should get you started.

  • Need generic print driver for Officejet 7210 all-in-one on Windows 8.1

    Updated my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, which removed my print driver for an Officejet 7210 all-in-one.  Attempted to reinstall.  Error that file not found.  Followed detailed process to a tee (deleted temp files, removed startup programs, everything).  Driver doesn't work but printer does with other computers.  Printer is no longer supported and no help (but is in great working condition).

    Hi LChristofaro,
    I have researched your error message and the Msiexec.exe error and it is an issue with windows installer. I recommend restarting your windows installer.
    To do this:
    1. Run "Services.msc" (without the quotation marks).
    2. Double-click "Windows Installer" in the Services list.
    3. Click Stop and click OK.
    4. Click Start and click OK.
    Restart you computer and try the install again.
    Let me know if this helped.

  • Printer Dialog for Canon S9000 Printer

    I dug out my large format Canon S9000 printer and am having trouble color correcting the photographic prints. Part of the trouble seems to be that in OS 10.6 I don't seem to be able to get the printer dialog box from the printer utility. When you go into the printer driver all you get is Canon S9000 in the box and I don't seem to be able to get into change any of the driver settings. Can anyone help? Thanks.

    spinosaurus wrote:
    I did download the latest driver for the S9000 available, although it is updated I believe only through OS X v10.5 and not 10.6.
    The driver update is for 10.6. If you have v10.36.2.0 installed then at least there should be some level of comparison between my setup and yours.
    I talked to Canon support and they told me that Apple writes the printer drivers for the OS systems and not them.
    This is not true. Canon creates the drivers and provides them to Apple so that it they are available via Software Update.
    Since you are using the same driver from Canon, maybe you could answer some of the following questions: What color space do you use for importing your photograph, sRGB, AdobeRGB, ProRGB, etc.? What color space do you use for viewing your photograph? Do use any ICC print profiles to print?
    For the photo that I used to test, it was taken on my Canon EOS7D and imported using Image Capture. The Get Info for the photo shows the colour space as RGB and the colour profile as sRGB IEC61966-2.1.
    For printing I selected the Canon profile to match the Canon Photo Plus Glossy, which is shown as GL3/SG3 in ColorSync. When PS was managing the colour this was selected via the PS print dialog > printer profile. When I selected the printer to manage, I used the Quality & Media tab to select the paper which in turn sets the profile, as seen in the Color Options menu.

  • Print problem for Officejet 6700

    Recently I have been having trouble in printing the word document.  I was working about 3-4 days ago.
    I have windows XP with MS Word 2010.  The print is HP Officejet 6700 Premium.  I always use it in the offline mode.  It's connected to the computer via LPT slot.
    The test page gets printed.  But the word document doesn't.  I also tried notebook and excel documents, and I have the same problem.
    I know it's something very simple (at least I feel that way) bit it's very annoying when one needs something printed.
    Please help me or direct me to seek further help.  Thank you.

  • Colors not printing correctly for OfficeJet J4580

    Hi,
    I have the OfficeJet J4580.  I recently changed the tri-color printer cartridge and now my colors aren't printing properly.  I just printed some postage for a package and instead of printing black it printed in red.  I then tried a different colored word document and the black printed fine, but the colors on the document are blurry and incorrect.  I thought maybe it was a bad replacement cartridge so I exchanged it with another brand new one and I'm still having the same problem.  Don't know what to do.

    Hello timdar,
    All right, remove the cartridges and clean the copper plates of the cartridges and the corresponding part in the carriage manually, just in case there's some dirt or ink that is preventing the cartridges and printer to communicate properly. Use a cloth dampened with some water to clean these parts. You can also see if a copy or a test page from the printer itself shows any issues with the colours or the black. If you check the links in the post above you will find how to print the test page and what it should look like.
    If a copy and test pages look all right but the prints from your computer still show these issues, make sure that the correct printer is set as the default printer in Printers&Faxes or Devices and Printers. If it is, power cycle the printer and reconnect the USB cable just in case... Last resort would be to reinstall the drivers for the printer, just delete the printer in Printers&Faxes and reconnect the USB cable.
    If this doesn't solve it I would suggest that you return the cartridge to where you bought it. When you get a replacement, make sure that it's an original HP cartridge.

  • Printer heads for Officejet Pro L7590

    I've never had a printer with printer heads before.  Can someone please explain what is good/bad about them and what kind of yield I can expect out of them since replacing them is expensive.  Is the printer head that comes with the machine the same as what you buy as a replacement?  I went into Staples with one request with my new printer.....direct me toward the machine that will cost me the least in ink replacement for home use, mostly b&w printing.  When you just look at the price of the ink cartridges for what they yeild, it looks like a great idea to go with this machine.....I knew nothing of the printer heads though!
    Thank-you.

    A Printhead is the accessory that actually drops the ink on the paper. In older printers, The cartridges themselves had integrated printheads, so the ink was dropped from the cartridge itself. In this printer, the print cartridge and the printheads were made separate accessories. The ink from your ink cartridge travels to the printheads through the ink tubes, and the printhead drops it on the paper. You wont have to replace the printheads as much as the print cartridges, because the source of the ink is the cartridges, and not the printheads. You don't need to replace the printheads unless the printer tells you that there's a problem with it. You dont have to do any cleaning or maintainance on it, as the printer itself does it all. Just don't forget to replace the cartridges once they run out of ink.

    Whenever i try to print off Firefox, there will be a small box saying "preparing to print" (with a small spinning series of dots) that lasts for 3 seconds or less. • Create TCP/IP Printing Port for OfficeJet Pro 8600

    I need to print across a hardware firewall (from wireless to wired networks, different subnet), so I need to create a standard TCP/IP printing port in Windows 7.  Does the printer use RAW on TCP port 9100 or are there other settings I need to configure?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    I see that you're having an issue with the printer not being able to print over a firewall.
    I believe the easiest way to do this would be to unblock the ports rather than adding a printer through windows.
    Router settings for HP Printers
    Router should be broadcasting in “G Mode only”. This normally means turning “Mixed mode” off.
    For Dual Band Routers, make sure they have disabled the 5ghz band and should only be operating on 2.4ghz
    Mac filtering should be disabled
    Security type should be “WPA 2 Personal”
    On some routers they have a “hardware firewall”, so the below ports would need to be opened
    UDP- 5353 67 80 547 53 5222 5223 5355 137 138 139 443 427 161 514 3702 5357 445 3910 Port range: 9999 - 65535
