Forename moved to the last name field

There is a problem with the last version of N Suite with outlook contacts. The first sync works fine, once you start a second sync, the forename (first name) is merged to the last name field on the suite AND on the Outlook side. The only way to correct it is to delete all contacts in NS suite, all contacts in the phone, all contacts in Outlook and restore the outlook contacts from a save. Then run the sync ONCE and switch it off. Going back to PC suite is the best until the issue is solved..

Moving information from last name field into blank first name field?

Is there a script (or does anyone know how I can make a workflow in Automator) for moving information from the last name field in Addressbook to the first name field (which is currently blank)? I want to move information from the last name field to the first name field in over 500 addressbook entries, and it would take me all night to do it manually.

so we cannt expect them to remember the same spellins as what we gave.
no one else can change other password as it need to give the id and email correctly
i have checked it in logon par file.......
the java files r not included in it..... to modify and deploy it again....

Contacts' first name field gets inserted in last name field when syncing

I have a strange behavior when syncing between iOS and the Mac:
A few contacts that I have only have a first name, let's say "Anna".
Everything runs fine on iOS - I write that person a mail and everything's fine. But the moment I write Anna a mail on my Mac the last name field also gets the entry of the first name field, thus leading to the contact "Anna Anna".
All I can do now is delete the last name field and everything's fine till I write a message on my Mac again.
Note: this problem only occurs on my Mac, not on iOS.
Second ote: the moment I'm sending the Mail on my Mac, iOS gets this error over sync.
Third note: I recognized that Mail.app's autocomplete/history of contacts has somehow stored those accounts like "Anna Anna". Removing the Previous Recipients from the list hasn't solved the problem yet.
This problem only covers 4 of my contacts, but being the most used ones this is driving me nuts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yup have tried resetting the contacts setting to switch it the wrong way round, didn't solve the problem - then back to the correct way round, also didn't solve the problem.
It's just the way that sometimes it shows firstname then lastname, and sometimes it shows lastname then firstname. Not one or the other but both ways round.
I have txts in my inbox that are first name first, underneath txts that are lastname first.
All very confusing I'm sure you can imagine!!

Removing punctuation in last name field

Hi all,
I have to write an API to an email system which does not accept punctuation as part of the mailbox. One of the fields I am using to build the mailbox is the persons last name. The problem I am experiencing is the use of punctutation in the last name field with individuals that have names for example like O'Leary, O'Shea, Baker-Newbie, etc... How would one write the syntax to remove punctuation from a column?

I would consider the Oracle TRANSLATE function:
How you do things depends on what you want to do with the punctuation characters. If you are going to omit then:
TRANSLATE(last_name,
'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ!£$%',
'ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ')
or something like it (just add the characters to omit to the end of the 'from' string) take care to escape any quote symbols in your from string.

Pagnation by the first letter of the last name

Hello,
I have a report that is Grouped by Cities and then Last Name. So New York is the city and then all the customers are listed below in Ascending order starting with the first customer who last name begins with the letter A and continues thru to Z and then the next City Starts with it's customers listed A thru Z.
What I need now is to have the report put the customers on a new page when the first letter of the last name changes. So New York will have it's cutomers with last names that start with A on page 1 and end on page 2 and New York customers with last names that start with B will start on page 3 and end on 5 and so on. How do I achieve this?

So if you have a last name field, and the names are in the detail section simply do this:
1 - Go to the section expert for the detail section.
2 - Click on the X-2 button to the right of New Page Before
3 - In the formula editor use the following (with your last name field instead of my generic fieldname):
not onfirstrecord;
LEFT (, 1) <> PREVIOUS (LEFT(, 1))
4 - Save & close the formula and OK out of the section expert.

Listing my contacts by the last name

Right now my Droid phone lists all the contacts by the first name. It is in sync with my google email contacts that are listed by the last name. Can I change this so the contacts are listed by last name on my Motorola Droid. I know I can easily do a search, but I prefer scrolling down by last name. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Yes you can "sort" by Company Name BUT....you cannot "search" by Company Name -- when you try a search it just keeps searching in the "name" fields and does NOT return a Company Name.
--if you know the name of the person you want to call (which you more than likely will) then searching by name is fine
but
--if you can't remember their name (or there are multiple names) but want to look up the company and then scroll through list of names at that company -- forget it -- I can't make it work.

"From" name sometimes only contains the last name

When the from name contains a "," character the list contains only the last name. I attached a print screen. Please help me because I cant find any settings which can correct is.
If I edit this contact in my address book and delete the "," character, the problem is the same.

Try this information.
The yellow star adjacent to the 'From' name in the header tells me the person is in one of your address books. it is possible that the person is in your 'Collected Addresses' address book.
Locate the person in address book and double click on name to edit the details
OR
click on the 'From' header name and select 'Edit Contact' button
then click on 'Edit Details' button
You would have the 'First, Last, Display Name and email address completed.
The 'Display Name' is what you see in the 'From field of the header.
Select the option to 'Always prefer Display name over message header'
Selecting this option shows 'Display Name' in both the list and the from header field.
click on OK to save changes.

In address book, if I try to show first name before the last name, why do only a few names change?

Using address book on 10.7.2, when I go to "preferences" to change the display order between showing the "first name" before or after the last name, only about 25% of names will change. The rest all stay in the same order. Any ideas?

By default any outgoing email has the addresses saved in the Collected address book. You can turn this option off if you want.

How do I get a new value for the service name field and update it in Connection Properties?

I am running Windows Vista. I just upgraded to Firefox 4. When I try to log on to the internet, it tells me the proxy server is refusing connections. When you create a new film script, the first page you see is a title page.
The page after this title page is the one where you generally type in your scenes.
It looks like you are facing some issue and not able to delete any text.
Can you please send me this script so that I can have a better look at your issue?
You can save this script to disk by using option 'File -> Save to disk'. This will create a '.stdoc' file on your system.

LabVIEW 2011 file selection fails to fill in the file name into the "File name:" field

In LV2011 I am selecting a text file while my code is running. The "file name:" field is not populated with the selected file name.
This is inconvenient, especially if I want to modify a file name by one or some few characters.
How do i make LV 2011 behave like the previous versions?

I figured it out while I was trying to extract the applicable section of my code to send it to you.
I had an asterisc wired to the "default name" input of the "File dialog" VI.
Now I am not wiring anything to the "default name" input of the "File dialog" VI and it works just fine.

How Does The Browser Know The "File Name" field in the "Save As" dialog

I have a servlet called co.com.SomeStaff who reads a binary file from the server an sends it to the breowser.
The Browser opens the "Save As" Dialog whith the value "co.com.SomeStaff" in the File name field, but and I need the name "SomeBinariFile.exe" instead.
How can I change that value?

How to arrange contacts in my Addess Book starting with the last name, re-doing them all at once, not individually. (I have 910 names in my Address Book).

This is a new computer. I see that my addresses have been arranged so that they read from the first name -- i.e. Jimmy Brown comes under 'J', not 'B'. I should like to put them all so that they read from the last name, first. I can do this individually but very much hope that there is a way that I can do ALL of them in ONE go? First step is to set the address book to show last name and then the first.
Open the Address Book
Select View-Show Name As-Last, First
Then click on the column header labeled NAME to sort on that column.

Project Center - How to Update / Correct the URL/Link stored in the Project Name field.

In the Project Center list, the link in the "Project Name" field for some projects take you the the project details page and some display the project schedule. How can I update/correct the links to display the project schedule?

Reason for this behavior is your enterprise project template which your project manager used for creating project.
We create Enterprise project template, associate PDP , Schedule, workflow according to our need then we use these Enterprise project template for project creation.
In your case some of the project manager must have used basic template( default template) for some project, Custom Enterprise template for some project and f you are using workflow then workflow template for some project, that is why you are able to see
PDP page first for some project and Schedule page for some project.
In order to change it you can change default PDP as schedule for Enterprise project template then open project save and publish them.

Why can't I use tilde (~) in the site name field?

Hello everybody!
I have my Web page in an external Web server and I use iWeb to edit this page (the editing is made locally on my laptop and exported afterwards). In addition, my Web server demands that my root page is "/~tfioreze".
In iWeb, my site name field is "tfioreze". However, since I'm trying to use some RSS files, I need to change now the site name into "~tfioreze". The problem is that iWeb does not allow me to include the tilde (~) in the site name, and as a result, my RSS files cannot be found because the path is incorrect in the Web server .
My question: how can I somehow include the tilde in the site name field in iWeb?

When I click on the RSS button, I got this
message:
"Safari can’t open the page “feed://wwwhome.cs.utwente.nl/~fiorezet/UT/Publications/rss.xml”. The error was: “unknown error” (NSURLErrorDomain:-1)
Will need to look further into that one.
I used the Feed Validator Website to check my RSS files. The Website says: "This feed does not validate". The site also shows in which lines the errors are. The link below shows what I mean:
