If user forgets his/her password, user can click on the forget password link in the CRDC signs up page.
The user will be prompted for the security question that he/she has set before.  Upon answer the correct answer in the security question, the password will be reset and a temporarily password will be generated and emailed to the user.
However, if the user has forgotten the answer to the security question, the user would have to contact support.Support will need to collection information like
user email address for registering in CRDC
some proof for the user is the owner of the account, that includes
First name
last name
phone number
address with postal code
etc
After the info of the user has been validated, CRDC admin could reset the password for the user.

Starting in Apr 12, 2008, account administrators can also reset password for the members in the account.
Note: this feature is only availble for administrators and delegated administrators of the account, and can only reset password for members of the account, but not hte guests.
The steps for administrator to reset a member's password are as follow:
Account administrator can login to cr.com, go to the Accounts tab, then click on Users tab.
Expand on the user group, and select the member
Choose Properties from the menu
Click the "Reset Password" button
A email with a temp password would be sent to the member

With 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Reset Password. After resetting the password use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for startup and restart.
With 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 if you don’t have an install disk check this article. http://www.macyourself.com/2009/08/03/how-to-reset-your-mac-os-x-password-withou t-an-installer-disc/
If you're running 10.7 Lion check this article
    http://osxdaily.com/2011/08/24/reset-mac-os-x-10-7-lion-password/
With 10.8 or 10.9 restart holding the Command and R keys, then from the drop down
of actions, choose Terminal.  When Terminal opens type:
    resetpassword
    and press enter.
You will get a reset password window from which you can select the user you want to reset, the admin account in your case.  Type a new password twice, do not do anything with the hint box.  Click Save, then confirm you want to do this reset.  Then click apply to the user's home directory, and click the apple in the left corner, and choose Restart.

  • Can't Change a User's Password - "Reset Password" is Grayed Out

I'm trying to reset a user account in OS X 10.4.11 on a MacBook. I am the administrator and am logged in as such.
I have gone into System Preferences > Accounts and clicked the unlock icon, put in my admin password, and selected the other user from the list on the left (the other user is listed under "Other Accounts").
But the "Reset Password" button is simply greyed out, I can't select it. Any idea what I can do here?

Hi, not sure what is going on yet... can you change other ones?
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

  • Unknown Password-Reset Password?

HI. I picked up a used imac g3 (all white, front loader, summer 2001) at a flea market.Unfortunately when I tried to log into the main users account,I didn't have the original owners pasword.I can get into another users account on it,but that one is restricted to what it can do,I can't add software or do much with it other than look at the documents left in that account. How can I reset the original owners password or reset the computer back to being "new"? Thanks.

I think all the solutions will involve having a Mac OS 9 installation disc that you can boot from.
Then you can (1) erase the current installation and re-install.
    OR
    (2) go to the internal drive
    System Folder/Preferences/
folder and find the preference file for +Multiple Users+ (don't remember the exact name). Move it to the trash can. Restart.
The first solution would be more complete if you have or acquire a Mac OS installation disc. Make sure the disc is compatible with your Mac model. The second solution would be faster, but you would retain any other issues that may exist with the current system. Please post back for more details if you actually want to spend more money to get a Mac OS installation disc. It may cost more than what you paid for the iMac.
Having an old Mac with no way to reinstall its software and perform maintenance is not a really good deal, no matter how little it cost.

  • SAPGUI - Auto password reset option for users

    Hi
We currently have R3 ECC 5.0 implemented across our locations. We have very high calls registered to our support team for password reset.
we want to know whether there is a option available wherein users can select a option "Forgot password / Reset password" based on which system should auto generate the password and send the same through e-mail to the user. This will be a kind of self service for the users.

As you've posted this issue several times, if the replies you're getting are not working, you need to explain what is not working on the same thread, rather than creating additional ones. From the halt code you've posted: Enter:     e9lo7gq79g  If the above code isn't working, check the following. 1.  The halt code ( generated after 3 incorrect entries ) that you've posted is correct. 2.  You entering the code on a QWERTY keyboard. 3.  Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Plug in the AC Adapter ( leave the battery out for the moment ), start the notebook and try entering the code again. 4.  Try entering the code via an external usb QWERTY keyboard. Regards, DP-K

  • IDXML for LostPassword and Reset Password

    HI All,
I am new to IDXML and OAM Webpass, but I have tried my best to work on assignment. I have to implement User Credentials Mgmt. which includes Change Password, Reset Password, AddUpdateSecurityQuestions and Lost Password.
I have found IDXML for Change password and Adding or updating Security Questions and implement it. But I am not able to find any IDXML for Lost PAssword Mgmt. or Reset Password.
I have read something about Lost Password Mgmt in OAM Manual but it was for implementing Event Plugin - which I am totally unaware of.
I will really appreciate if Somebody reply soon, as I am running out of time...tic..tic..tic....
see... I have very less time.... :)
    Please help..
    Thanks in Adv.

    Hello Himanshu,
The functionality of LPM is not directly available within IDXML (specifically the functionality provided by the lost_pwd_mgmt.cgi urls is not available). However, you can use IDXML to check for LPM conditions and then take appropriate action as an admin user.
For example, you could make a check for password reset by checking the value of the obpasswordchangeflag attribute with an IDXML call that logs in with an admin account (so that the user is not redirected to the change password page). Then, if the value is true you could make another admin call to change the password and to reset the obpasswordchangeflag.
In order to do this, you first need to make the LPM attributes available to the Identity System, for which please see Note 743075.1
    Regards,
    Colin

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

  • How can you reset your Installer even though you forget the old password?

I forget the password to Installer (username of the laptop). Now, it asks me for the old password to reset
    Please Help

    Forgot Your Account Password
    For Snow Leopard and earlier
Mac OS X 10.6- If you forget your administrator password
    For Lion/Mountain Lion
        Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow
instructions in the dialog window that will appear.
Or see Reset a Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Password and
OS X Lion- Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
If you are unable to boot from an installer DVD:
(these will only work on Leopard or earlier)
      1. Boot to Safe Mode by restarting and after the chime press and hold down
the COMMAND-S keys until a black screen with white type appears.
      2. At the prompt, type the following commands pressing return after each
          command line:
         /sbin/fsck -yf
If you do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message then repeat this command
until you do.  If after seven tries you still do not receive a "Filesystem OK"
message, then the system is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.
         mount -uw /
         cd /private/var/db/netinfo
         mv local.nidb local.old
         rm ../.AppleSetupDone
         shutdown -r now
The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when the new owner starts up the computer it will send him/her to the startup wizard where he/she can start a new user without reinstalling.
This last method does not actually change a password. It simply removes the user accounts and lets you create an initial admin account as if the computer were new out of the box.
Reset Admin Password Using The Terminal
You can reset the password by printing out (or writing down) and carefully following these steps.
First, find the short name of the admin user on the machine. The easiest way of doing this is by looking at what the directory is called in the Users folder.
Now, start in Single-user Mode. It should boot into a command line.
Enter these exact lines. Press RETURN after each.
    mount -uw /
    ifconfig lo0 up
    cd /var/db/netinfo
    netinfod -s local
Now you'll need that short name. Enter "passwd", a space, and the short name of the admin. For example, if the admin was rather prosaically called "imadmin", you would enter "passwd imadmin".
The computer will now prompt you to change the password for "lmadmin" (or whatever the short name was). Go ahead and enter a new password.
    Now, enter:
    sync
    reboot
and the machine will reboot. The admin password should now be changed.

    Hi
As far as I know the BIOS password can be removed by Service partner only. There is a way to do it but you should know that this can not be published because on this way it will be possible to start every stolen unit.
Contact Authorized service partner and they will remove it. It can not costs a lot of money.
    Good luck!

    Hi,
A locked-out account cannot be used until it is reset by an administrator or until the lockout duration for the account has expired.
If you remember the password, you may type the password after the lockout duration for the account has expired.
If you forget the password, please refer to the link below:
