Forgot Firefox Sync username and password

I forgot my Firefox sync password and have tried to restore it, but the system keeps telling me there is no account associated with my email address. Is there a way to recover my user name and reset my password?

You need at least the email address that you used to create that account to reset the password.

  • Forgot my sync username and password

    Hello all,
I've got a small problem here, I've formatted my laptop and installed firefox 4, but I can't remember my username or password :S
What can I do now to solve it?

Without your username you can't even request a password change, not to mention that without the SyncKey your data can't be decrypted even if you could logon to your Sync account.

  • How can I make firefox prefill username and password

un and pw are still remembered, I can see them, however Firefox stopped prefilling them and now I have to manually enter them every time.

I went Tools, Options, Security, Saved Passwords, Then I deleted the username and password that would not prefill. Then went to the site, typed in un and pw, it asked if remember, I said yes and now it works again. Till the next time it wants to stop.

  • How do I change a previously saved (in Firefox) online username and password that has now changed?

I try to navigate to the login OR homepage of a password protected site and it sends me into a loading loop or "invalid user name" error page (depending on which portal I attempt to enter through). How do I reset the username and password saved in Firefox? I tried deleting the sites and associated passwords in the security options tab already and it hasn't worked.

    Arantha,
Click the document name at the top of the Pages window and choose Browse Versions. See if any of your late changes are there. Also, use Finder to search for files with a similar name, since it's possible that your latest changes were made to a copy of the document and you may be able to find that copy if that's the case.

  • Firefox forgets usernames and passwords after shutting down the computer.

I've reset all settings, cleared cache, cookies, etc. I also removed and reinstalled Firefox but it still forgets.

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

  • HELP.....Forgot Log On Username and Password

I have a older Mac Book that is running the OS X Leopard operating system I believe. I put the computer on the shelf years ago. Now I can't remember my user name or password to log onto the computer. There are no other user accounts on the computer. I want to give the computer to my neice for her B-day so any help would be appreciated. I know it is entirely my fault that I didn't write the info down.
    Thank you in advance

Put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Reset Password. After resetting the password use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for startup and restart.

  • Hi, I can't get Firefox to ask me if I want it to remeber username and passwords that I type in when using client accounts in a system i am using at work, seems to do this only for some and not all entries.

I have read and tried the solutions posted under these links, but it is not solving the issue.

  • WRT54G2- Lost username and password for router webpage

When I type in my router's (WRT54G2) webpage it asks me for a username and password as normal.  But my problem is I forgot what my username and password was.  So how would I be able to find it or reset it?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You have to reset the router to factory defaults pressing the reset button for 30 seconds... There is no other way if you forgot the password...

  • My username and password are saved on my webmail site. How do i remove them so they don't pop up when I go to the site?

my username and password are saved on my webmail site. How do i remove them so they don't pop up when I go to the site? I use cox.net webmail. Cox tell me it's a firefox issue. So, here I am. Can you help?

    Hey anneri
Go to ''tools->options'' and under the ''Security'' tab click on ''Saved passwords''. This will give you a list of sites that you have saved a password for. Just find your site and delete that entry.
There is a lot of useful information in this article about the [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/make-firefox-remember-usernames-and-passwords?s=password+manager&r=1&as=s Firefox Password Manager]. It should answer any other questions you might have.
You can also remove the cookies from that site to make the site forget you if you've created a remember me cookie.
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    Hopefully this helps!

  • I have lost my username and password and can't find my way to the "firefox window" to see if I can retrieve my sync key.

I have lost my username and password and sync key. I do not understand how to find the "firefox window" described in the "help" page for finding the sync key. I am trying to get my bookmarks downloaded on a new laptop.

    Hi Steve,
    Depends which OS
    version.
    If OSX try this instead...
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Change Password from the Installer menu up at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Change Password.*
If worse comes to worse try this...
Reset OS X Password Without an OS X CD...
    http://theappleblog.com/2008/06/22/reset-os-x-password-without-an-os-x-cd/
    Admin Hack...
    http://www.hackmac.org/?q=node/4
Starts up like the first time you buy a new Mac, but after filling in all that info again, you should have access to the computer and the other Users & files will still be there... give the new User a different name than an existing one.

  • Firefox Sync does not sync usernames or passwords to my iPad

I set up Firefox Home on my Desktop and it syncs all bookmarks to my iPad which is perfect.
However, when using my iPad and Firefox Home, I select a book mark which resolves to an online location as it should but ... non of my login information is pre-populated such as usernames or passwords. Isn't this supposed to be the correct behavior? Did I misunderstand the value of Firefox Sync?

Thanks for your response. What is stated about Firefox Home is:
"Firefox Home is a free application that works with Firefox Sync to give you instant access to your Firefox desktop history, open tabs and bookmarks on your iPhone or iPod Touch.".
I guess where Firefox Home falls short is it doesn't provide username and password support on the iphone or ipad ... ?

  • Why firefox wont ask me to enter my mail "Account details (UserName and Password)" for 2nd time, if i open same "mail account" using another session (1st session still "login")

I opened "yahoomail" in one new tab, mail page asks me to enter "UserName and Password" once typed my details, it allows me to see my mails.Again I opened "yahoomail" in new tab (Still my 1st yahoo mail account in "login" state) to check my other account, this time it automatically allows me to see the previously opened account without asking me to enetr "Account Details"

All Firefox windows and tabs run in the same "session". You can't open a 2nd account on the same server as the first account without being able to handle "session cookies" for each account.
Take a look at these three extensions which can handle multiple "cookie sessions", and pick one. <br />

  • Firefox 7.0.1 does not remember/fill in username and password in Mac version although on Windows it works, so it's not the website preventing password being saved. what is up and how can this be fixed ?

There are several sites where I now have to type in my username and password each time I return, such as turnitin.com. (I'm a teacher and use this for grading). Friefox used to be able to remember this for that site and it still works at my office where I have a windows machine. Not working on my Mac OS 10.6.8 and it is really annoying to have to retype every single time; it's not a financial site or anything so why can't the Firefox browser remember and re enter my info?
And no, turnitin does not currently support Firefox 7 but it is only up to firefox 4 and up until now firefox at least worked to remember passwords.
I looked at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Username%20and%20password%20not%20remembered and I have checked all the recommended browser settings and am not set to private browsing; the sites where this happens are not set in exceptions to remembering, and they are not set to be cleared automatically
So, what's up and why doesn't Firefox remember passwords and usernames any longer?

Now up to Firefox 8 and the problem persists. Cannot go to the www.turnitin.com page and login as I used to do -- Firefox does not remember my username or password.
Still works on Windows, and with other browsers... It would be great if a fix is available.
