Forgot how to install onboard SATA drivers

I did it before but have lost the section of my brain (if any's left) that got my external SATA drive working on my 990FXA-GD80. Thanks, can't find the documentation anywhere for no floppy drive.

It's a 'Bios' setting. Look at your booklet. It shows the Bios. In Bios you'll need to select Sata/Sata Raid... which ever is your needs. Please look at the bottom of my post. I have listed equipment. Go to your profile and give us your equipment list. Read the posting guide.
Then we can help you better... you don't need a specific driver to install for using it. You do need the Raid driver to use during you O.S. install if you are using a Raid setup. Being that there is no IDE on the 990FXA-GD80 Sata is all you have. Don't let the Bios term IDE get to you. IDE/Sata.. they do the same job. Sata is just a different connection, that offers better speeds. For Raid.. download the Raid driver from http://www.msi.com/product/mb/990FXA-GD80.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win7%2032
Having it on an USB flash memory will find it as you install your O.S. and direct you to select it. Then setup your Raid choice.

I did it once when I made it 64 bit, I decided to go back to x86...better drivers.
I set it up as USB 2.0 cable drive and it read it fine. After a couple of days when I changed bios to raid on only one of settings and connected this time with an eSATA cable.
Now it sees the drive with the eSATA cable and works.
However, Normally where it pauses on start-up, there's a message saying to push ctrl-j to set up RAID, nothing happens.
I suspect you have to have 2 to play RAID.
As I said it now connects with the eSATA cable and seems to be just as fast as being on a RAID.
The definitions for RAID says 2 acting as 1 but the drive still had a different drive letter and to move a file you still had copy/paste.
So what can RAID do for me...in layman's language please. Thanks Robert

See is meant. Help! forgot how to install fonts

I forgot how to install fonts in 10.3.9. Using Fontbook 1.0.2. The Help files tell me to open Fontbook>File>install. My Version shows File>add fonts. Doesn't do it. Can I still drag fonts to closed fonts folder?
Since the fonts were sent e-mail by a client to use on the job, unzipping gave me little black screen icons (look like little, tiny gray screens with OSX in the corner). Is this why they won't work? Did zipping them corrupt them?
Any help would be appreciated!

i had this same scenario before.
unzipping gave you little black screen icons? you can try adding extensions to their file names like the usual fonts.
or do they have 0kb size? if then, something went wrong in the zipping process.

I need to install ODBC drivers for Oracle on a W95 machine.
I tryed to install ODBC Oracle drivers on my W95 machine but when
I extracted the zipped file from ora8052 it created a directory
called win32; then I searched for the 'setup' executable...
without to find one...
In the readme file, on 'software required' I read that I need the
Oracle Net8 client and teh Oracle8 installer to install ODBC.
Where can I find Oracle Net8 client and teh Oracle8 installer
without downloading all the try and by version of Oracle??

you have to get hold of a CD containing Oracle Client software;
you should ask Oracle for it. SQL*Net itself is free for
owners of the server license, but I do not know how Oracle
handles users of the free development kits. If you plan to
use Oracle for software development I strongly recommend to enter
one of the partner programmes; it's not free, but very good value
for money.

Install Onboard Video Drivers from USB

Hi, my graphics card gave out and I think I may have uninstalled some drivers for my onboard gpu. I currently cannot get into Windows and I was wondering if I could reinstall the drivers from a USB and how I might do that. I've been trying to boot to the USB but no luck so far.

Using bootcamp 5.1, Windows 7 home is installed but missed installing the drivers disk. How to install the Mac drivers for windows after the fact.

While using Bootcamp 5.1, and OS X 10.8.2, I partitioned my Mac disk with 80 Gigs for Windows 7 home and the install went great, but I must have missed the time when I was to install the Mac drivers disk to install the drivers for Windows,(when in Windows I don't have a mouse or optical drive.) Is there a way to install the drivers after Windows is installed, or do I have to go through the whole process all over again?

Press X key after the startup sound to boot into OS X. Then, open Boot Camp Assistant, download Boot Camp drivers and burn them into a USB drive or DVD. Finally, boot in Windows and install drivers

How to install latest video drivers on Bootcamp?

Currently running bootcamp on Windows 7 Ultimate using Bootcamp 4.0. The video driver that I need is the latest driver for the Nvidia 9600M GT. My software updates (Apple) on Windows 7 state that I have available updates. It's not possible with this graphics card to install the latest driver through Nvidia's website the easy way due to it stating I need to contact my manufacturer. This is a dangerous loop, and I know my driver is old for my GPU because my driver says it's from 1/19/2011. In addition to that, the games that I play on Windows 7 also state that my drivers are out of date.

Have posted this over and over again. TAKE A LOOK.
You have to install Apple chipset to enable the device. Can't see it. Nviidia won't auto detect a Mac ever, unless you have a PCIe card you install of course and easy to swap out (Mac Pro tower).
After you install Apple BC drivers, guess what? uninstall the nvidia device driver adn program and use Driver Sweeper 3.2 to deep clean, and may as well run CCleaner 3.x as well (Registry tool also).
Same for audio but that goes a lot easier (Realtek or Cirrus drivers).

How to install pro p1102 drivers without connecting the printer (for RDP printing)

Need to install drivers on a work PC so it will show up when I connect via a remote connection. Cannot install those drvers unless I physically connect the printer which is not possible. How can I get just the drivers installed?

The P1102 is an Host-Based printer, it do not support remote printing such as Cireix, Terminal Services or ODP Printing.

I assume this is a permissions error on some folder and I've seen some advice on the net about how to chmod the permissions. But I'm reluctant to do that until I know what I'm doing, so as not to open up security issues. Should it be set back? To what chmod?

Ach, never mind -- I think I got it -- redid the entire thing and responded to the challenge prompt from Lion and seems good to go.

How to install w7 bootcamp drivers without nvidia drivers

My early 2011 macbook pro 15" has an AMD graphics card, and after a fresh install of windows 7 64, the bootcamp installation CD contained nvidia drivers. This of course was a problem, but i left it for an hour anyways without any success. Now, im trying to find a way to install everything else besides the nvidia graphics drivers. Silly me threw out the bootcamp CD that came with my macbook pro originally, which I think was able to install bootcamp fine the first time. So maybe there are older bootcamp drivers available for an early 2011 mbp?

Your signature states "Mac OS X 10.7.2" which is OSX Lion.
If correct you can use the BootCamp Assistant in OSx to download the "Windows Support Software" which is the BootCamp Drivers.

Before you start with Windows 7 installation, download all drivers from official Toshiba website and check if all drivers available. I dont know what notebook you have exactly and if you install Windows 7 32bit or 64bit but you can check this yourself:

If you have found all drivers you can start with Windows 7 installation. After this install all drivers. Usually the installation order is not so important but a friend of installed Winodws 7 on L300 (little bit other model) and used this installation order:
-Windows 7
-Chipset driver
-Display driver
-Sound driver
-LAN driver
-WLAN driver
-Modem driver
-Value Added Package
-Flash Cards Support Utility
Depending on your model the order and amount of drivers is a little bit different. ;)

I just purchased HITACHI SATA Deskstar 3/5" 500GB/16MB Cache/72RPM Internal Hard Drive, which said it was compatible with my Mac. I have a iMac mid 2007 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo2 running OSx10.6.4. guess you should check out the documentation at

what i do, is copy the class files [Oracle]with the same
structure into the rt.jar file, which is the runtime file which
contains java classes for the jre to execute..
solves the problem, but still a round about way... there should
be some simple way to install the driver and connect to
oracle from java.
again depends on what is connecting to the database..
if its an applet then you have to package a thin driver
to be downloaded on the client machine, and you need to sign
the applet [if the database is on a different machine other
than the webserver].
or if its a servlet, then the java runtime should have
access to the oracle/jdbc... classes..
not great help, i guess..
