Forgot lock code & Hard reset

Hi friends,
hope my post will find you all in healthy state. I have two queries and shall be very thankful to you if you guide me accordingly:
Q1: I want to restore factory settings of my N900, but unfortunately forgot the lock code. How lock code can be renewed?
Q2: I want to hard reset my N900, does any one has some simpler and straight forward process?
Thanks a lot in advance.

the ONLY way to reset the lock code if you forgot it is to flash your device with flasher3.5.  you will have to flash both the os and the EMMC.
you can follow my directions HERE
since you wanted to reset your device and start over, this will make your device just as if you took it out of the box for the first time.

You can restore the iPhone from backup on the last computer your iPhone synced with, this will allow you to reset the passcode http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414. If you do not have access to the last computer the phone synced with, you will have to force the phone into recovery mode & restore as a new device, all data on the phone will be erased  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.

  • Lock code after reset to factory settings

I have changed my lock code from default and I remember it. Since I had some software issues, I reset the phone (Nokia 5230) to factory settings by giving the lock code.
Today when I enter (after resetting) my personal lock code, the phone didn't accept it. I tryied several times and got a warning message.  Will my phone become locked permanently if I enter the wrong lock code again? What should I do? Please help.

You get locked out for increasing lengths of time before you can input another lock code upon repeated tries. Although it should not have changed, presumably you tried factory default of 12345 as one of your attempts? If all else fails a visit to Nokia Care facility with proof of purchase beckons.

  • Forgot lock code on iphone

I purchased someone's older 3S Iphone to use and had changed the 4 number lock code after adding all of my phone numbers from my old phone. I now have forgotton the pin code and I had never got around to connecting it to my I-tunes. I am not worried about losing the info that I entered I just would like to activate my phone. Is there anyway to delete the lock code or to recover it?

Nope. You're about to lose ALL of your data. Since you've never backed up, there will be no backup to restore from. Thus, your only option, if you can't remember the passcode, will be to force the phone into recovery mode & restore as a new device. All data on your phone will be erased.
    Turn your phone off, then:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still dont see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. In your case, new will be your only option.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • Lost lock code after firmware update

    Hi,
I recently updated my E66 firmware (i don't remember the versions now). The thing went ok, the phone is working... in general ok, except that: When I try to change something that requires the lock code. It don't recognize my old password. Now it showed me some error about 5 tries and it diapered before i could reed it all.
The phone is working, but I'm afraid that if it turns off I will be unable to power it on again.
Does any one know what that message was. And Is there a way I can get arraund to change the lock code, since the phone is working?
    Thanks.
P.S. I can't get the phone to a Nokia Care Center because there's none In Uruguay, and even so, this phone isn't available in the region.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

On some phones the lock code is reset to the default 12345 when the firmware is updated. This is what must have happened with your phone.
However, since you have entered an incorrect lock code too many times in succession, the only way to unlock that now is for you to send the phone to a Nokia Care Point. There is no other way.
The phone shouldn't ask you for a security code when it starts, only for the PIN protecting your SIM. Some Eseries and Nseries phones, however, have a facility called "remote locking" whereby you can lock the phone by sending it an SMS with a code in it that you can define. If this function is activated then the phone does also ask for the security code when you switch it on.

  • Lock Code request after hard reset

    Hi,
So I did a hard reset and I knew that I'll lose the Ovi Store. What it's completely new for me is that now each time I'm starting the phone I am requested to input the lock code. I have given 12345 but a message saying "Code fail" is shown and afterwards the phone works normally.
    1. Does anybody know why12345 is not working anymore?
    2. Does anybody know how could I remove this request at startup?
    3. Does anybody know why the phone does react if I am inputting an incorrect code only with a message "Code fail" - I would have expected a lock after multiple inputs but everything is OK.
    4. Does anybody know how can I change this code? - without flashing it at Nokia Service Center (just too far from me). I'm curious if 10000 tries would bring something alhough I am not interested in such a test.

The default code is 12345 ! Do you have a pin lock on your sim card ? You can also request PUK code from supplier, if no good , you do need Nokia Care Point

i forgot my lock code how do i reset

If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New.
If you are restoring to fix a forgotten Restrictions Code, then skip Step 9 and restore as New.
