Did you place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

How to recover the passcode, since there is no even a screen to enter passcode apart from disabled and emergence calls?

  • HT1414 I forgot my passcode and cannot restore my phone because fine my iphone is turned on?  How do I turn it off if I cannot get into my phone to do so?

My daughter has forgotten her passcode.  When I try to restore it through itunes, it does not allow me to do so because I had turned on the "find my iphone" feature upon activation.  Is there a way to restore it if I can't get to the settings to turn the "find my iphone" off?  Please help.:-0

    Hi ApayneX7,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you need to erase the iPhone and Find my iPhone is turned on, you may want to try this method:
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.
You can find the article with these steps here:

I forgot my passcode and i have no backup of my Ipad, it is locked and disabled, can anyone help to restore factory settings atleast as a new ipad

    Hey salosawaya,
If you have never synced your device with iTunes and you forgot your passcode, you'll follow these directions:
If you see one of following alerts, you need to erase the device:
"iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
"You haven't chosen to have [device] trust this computer"

You can't.  If there was a way to get into the phone and backup data without a passcode, what would be the purpose of the passcode?
Either think harder, or prepare to lose all your data.

  • I have iphone 6 plus i forgot my passcode and i never backed up my device, i just want a way to restore my iphone without losing my contacts?

I have iphone 6 plus i forgot my passcode and i never backed up my device, i just want a way to restore my iphone without losing my contacts?

Sorry but Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support covers all of the methods. Any chance that you had it set to automatically back up to iCloud and/or sync contacts to iCloud?
You can check on whether the contacts were synced by logging in to https://www.icloud.com/ and looking at the Contacts app there.
The "Delete Backups and turn off backups from your device" in the following link describes how you can use a computer to see if there is an iCloud backup of your phone. Follow those instructions to the point of seeing if the backup is listed but obviously you don't follow the rest of the instructions on how to delete. Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support
