Forgot my passcode  (couldnt sync new computer)

hi i had forgotten my passcode, disabled time getting longer and longer.
couldnt sync wth itune as i had changed a new pc.
how can i solve this problem?

If you've forgotten the passcode then you will need to connect the iPad to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

If you mean the Settings > General > Restrictions passcode on your phone then was it on the phone when you last backed up ? If not then you can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the phone when you last backed up then the only way to remove it is to reset the phone back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the phone - you won't be able to restore to the backup as that will keep the code in place.
Or do you mean something else ?

  • My daughter forgot her passcode on her new ipod touch.  How do I access it?  The message says ipod disabled.  I've tried resetting by holding on/off and home but hasn't worked

My daughter forgot her passcode on her brand new ipod touch.  How do I access it now?  The message reads, "ipod disabled".  I've tried holding the on/off button and home button until I see an apple.  Then asks me to connect to itunes.  When trying to connect to itunes, it will not let me as it asks for the ipod touch's passcode (which we do not have!)  What next?

Did you use the instructions I provided in the document above?  It can be a bit tricky getting the device into recovery mode.  Try a few more times.
What happens if you try DFU mode?

  • Syncing new computer

    Dear sirs
I have been using the vista at my old computer and tried to install the later updated itunes without success and we have been prompted with a visual error message, just liked a lot of people said in the other forum and there is definitely a big error in the the latest itunes.
Anyhow, I have updated the the ios in my ipad 2 using wifi options and the ipad 2 works fine but having problem with Itune sync using the old computer, as I wanted to try backing up the ipad 2 then move over to the Ipad Air. I also have a laptop running on the window 8. My question is can I install the latest itune version on the window 8 (hope it doesn't run into problem), and backup my ipad 2 (upgraded to IOS 7.x) in full. And then using this backup to restore it to the ipad air??
    Please help.
    Thanks very much.

Yes, you can move to a new computer, but it's not as easy as plugging in and syncing.  If you do that, you'll lose the data off your device.

  • Syncing new computer with ipod

I have a bunch of songs on my ipod from a previous computer. Now that I have a new computer, do I HAVE to erase and sync my ipod? Is there a way I can keep or transfer my songs from my ipod to my new computer so I can just re-add them? I don't want to loose all my songs that I have! Is there anything I can do? Please help! Thanks.

so if some were not itunes purchases, i would have to basically copy the songs to a cd (from the old computer) and import it to my itunes library? thanks, that was very helpful

  • IPod and iPad sync new computer

I have the original iPad and a touch. Desktop recently crashed, no backup. When I sync for first time w new computer, can data be transferred to iTunes from pad/pod? Or have I lost everything?

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iDevice, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With the iPad connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purcahses From - the name of your iPad. Repeat the same for your iPod unless the iTunes content on each device that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store is identical.
For iTunes content that was not purchased from the iTunes store and for photos transferred from your computer, if you have a Mac you can use this 3rd party utility to transfer this content in the opposite direction.
    http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/
Photos transferred from your computer to your iPad are optimized for viewing on your iPad as part of the iTunes transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced depending on the resolution of the photos on your computer. The resolution will be lost when transferring these photos in the opposite direction which is why this is not supported via the iTunes transfer process. Photos on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with your iTunes library and all other important data. An iDevice is not designed or intended to be used as a backup storage device.

  • Syncing new computer with old music files with Iphone.

Hello all, recently I got a new computer and transfered all my old music files over and updated my itunes on my new pc. I also de-authorized my old pc and authorized my new pc. However, when I plug in my Iphone into my new computer it doesn't seem to be syncing at all. I've also added a new album to my music files on my new pc and since my iphone isn't syncing, the songs haven't shown up on my phone. I was wondering does anyone have a solution to this? or what I need to do to have my new pc syncing with my iphone?
    Thanks.

    Can someone help here?

Type '''about:support'''<enter> in the address bar.
Under the page logo on the left side you will see '''Application Basics.'''
Under this find '''Profile Folder.''' To it’s right press the button
'''Show Folder.''' This will open your file browser to the current
    Firefox profile. Now '''Close Firefox.'''
Enter the '''bookmarkbackups''' folder. This is where Firefox makes backups
of your bookmarks. Look for the '''jsonlz4''' file you want to restore
(check the time / date / size). Right click on that file and select '''Copy.'''
Now go back to the profile folder where you started. Rename the file
'''places.sqlite''' by adding '''.old''' to it. Now right click in the folder
and select '''Paste.''' The file you just pasted here, rename it to
'''places.sqlite.''' After you are done, restart Firefox.

  • IPhone syncing, new computer old iphone.... major issues.

I recently bough a new macbook pro, i have an old iphone 2g (dont ask me why i still have this ancient beauty, i just love it). However I havent updated my iphone in over a year and need to update it.
Since this is a new computer and I do not have the other one, which I would usually use to connect to my iPhone, the new computer won't let me sync anything without deleting everything on it.
How do I sync all my stuff (or at least all my contacts to my address book) so that i can restore and update the iphone 2g for to this new computer??? thx for the time.
o and is there any good free 3rd party software that can assist in this if apple can't... and no i do not have a backup on my new mbp, so i can't just restore and use a backup.

I already have some contacts in my address book. So I tried to look for the iPhone under >import however, nothing.... So do i just press sync on my iphone on itunes? Will it give me the option as soon as i press it or just delete everything.... dont want to press something and make a mistake that will cost me all my contacts.

  • I forgot my passcode on my new Iphone 6 and haven't backup it yet. Please help.

I got my Iphone 6 last week and went on vacation to take some pictures. However, in the middle of my vacation the IPhone restarted by itself and asking for a passcode. My passcode is not working anymore and pushing my Iphone to be disabled by trying to guess what it is. I tried to restore the Iphone by using my computer but I was not able to back it up because it's asking for a passcode also I tried to sync it and its does the same thing and asking for a passcode. I don't want to completely restore it without saving my pictures. Is it possible to reset my passcode by going to any apple service center? We do have all the necessary documents to prove the I am the owner of it. I just don't want to take the risk to restore it without backing it up. Please help.

The purpose of the passcode is to protect the data in the iPhone (including photos) from people who do not know the passcode.  The only way to eliminate the passcode is to restore the phone as new which eliminates the data from the iPhone.  You can do that yourself or take it to an Apple Store and they will restore it for you.  If you had made a backup you could then restore the data back to the iPhone (including the photos) but if you did not make a backup, then you will be unable to access the data.
You have not said whether or not you had the Photo stream feature enabled in your iCloud settings.  If you did, your photos will be streamed back to your iPhone when you enable the feature after restoring the iPhone.   Or perhaps you had enabled iCloud backups to made automatically every time you are on Wifi and plugged in.   If yes, you can restore from the latest iCloud backup.   If not, you are out of luck.
For the future, it is a good idea to enable iCloud automatic backups.  You don't have to remember to make them and they will be there for you should you forget your passcode again.
