Forgot my password/it changed

hi, i just formated my hard drive of my mac mini, cause it was acting REALLY weird. so, when i'm installing os x 10.3.8, i put a password ****************** that long. but then when i go to system prefs i have a password **** that long. so, i made a admin account to go and change my password. so, when i log on, i hadn't saved, so there was just my account. i don't know what to do. i have tried all the passwords that come to mind. please help. i also have a OSX 10.4.something, which might help, but i don't know. any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You'll need to reset your password. Boot from your system/installer CD and the next screen after "Language" will show a menu bar. Select the reset-password option and follow through from there. Here's more info on how to do it (scroll down to "Resetting the original administrator account password").

Hope that gets it.
