Forgot my WEP key on hp photosmart premium printer

how to find WEP key on my printer.its stopped connecting to my laptop MacBookPro

WEP is otherwised known as your wireless password and is set in your router.  WEP is not secure at all, I recommend upgrading your security to WPA or WPA2.

    The latest Vista drivers for this printer on THIS page shows one of the enhancements as supporting Windows 7. So it should install fine. Do notice that this is the v.13 software.
    EDIT: Just downloaded the version 13 software, and tried installing it. It seemed to go through fine, though I don't have the printer physically here. Check the screenshot.

  • Tools for Photosmart Premium printer

    My old photosmart 2410 had tools: (clean, allign, etc.) which I can't find on my Photosmart Premium???.  I refilled ink cartridges and used the tools after reinserting. ....is there a way on my new printer to access "tools"?????

  • How do I set up my HP photosmart premium printer to work with lightroom 3.6

    When I try to print from lightroom the above image is what I get. If I print via the HP desktop gadget the print is good and colors are fine. The scan of the image has brightened it up a bit.II have a Acer Aspire X3950 PC running windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).  The printer is a HP Photosmart Premium C310a. I Color profile is managed by printer.

    When you have your printer do the color management you have to tell Lr that the color is <Managed by printer>.

    Only one of the two can do the color management: either the printer or Lr. If both do it you get bad results. Same goes for Photoshop.

  • HP C309g Photosmart Premium Printer - bought new printer cartridges and not printing correctly

    I just replaced all 5 of the printer cartridges for the first time today.  When I look at the ink levels they are all showing full but when I print it is showing the following:
    Photo Black: Shows a Magenta color
    Magenta: Shows Magenta
    Cyan: Blank
    Yellow: Blank
    Black: shows black.
    I tried taking out and putting in again.  Also tried the clean cartridges function. Still not working correctly. Printing only black and magenta.
    Please help.

    I am having the same problem.  The first time it happened, I just unplugged the printer and waited a few seconds and then replugged.  It rebooted and work fine for a while.  Now it will not scan and the reboot does not work.   i have seen other posts about this same problem.  

  • Photosmart Premium Printer C309g-m

    LCD window is now showing HP logo all the time.  If I touch HOME, it goes to the window with Photo, Copy, Scan, etc., but within a few seconds returns to HP logo window.  Normally, it displays window with Photo, Copy, etc. and then goes to sleep like a screensaver.  The HP logo window never sleeps, and I'm afraid the LCD window will burn out.  How do I make it stay at the Photo, Copy, etc. window?   I've tried HP tech support and also, Preferences - Energy Save Mode on the printer and nothing fixes this problem.  Please help.

    There is another version of reset to try:
    Turn the printer off.
    Remove the power cord from both the back of the printer AND the wall for 5 minutes.
    Plug all back in and turn on.
    If this does not fix it I am really out of ideas.  Does it happen to be in warranty?

    If resetting the printer doesn't work.  Call the call center since your product is under warranty 1-800-HPINVENT
    Reset the HP All-in-One
    With the power on, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and the back of the HP All-in-One and leave it unplugged for 60 seconds.
    Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the HP All-in-One.
    Turn on the HP All-in-One by pressing the On button.

  • Installing an HP Photosmart Premium C310

    I am trying to install an HP Photosmart E printer C310 and I can get it to print the test photos and pages, and will print from a diagnostic tool, however i cannot get it to be my default printer (I have no others installed) and I can't print anything from my PC.  I am totally baffled, I am running Windows 7 32-bit and have tried all the compatibility downloads.  I have installed and uninstalled half a dozen times, I have downloaded from the HP site to be sure I had the latest software and still no luck.  My windows diagnostic does not come up with anything.       I am lost and hate this touch screen printer.  Has anyone else run into this problem,  I MUST get a printer on line immediately ... actually thinking of going out and buying some other type.  Have had HP for a long long time though, I hate this new version.  advise .... anyone!

    I see that your HP Photosmart Premium Printer 310 will not print black, and that you cannot install it on your Mac OS X. I am sorry to hear this, but I am happy to look into this for you!
    May I ask the version of Mac OS X that you are using? If you do not know the Operating System you are using, please visit this website. Whatsmyos.
    In the meantime, let's start with trying to get it to print black first. Please try the solutions within this guide, Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Photosmart Premium e-All....
    If you print a status report, do you see any black? To print a status report, please try the following:
    Load plain white paper in the input tray.
    On the product control panel, touch the Setup icon ().
    Touch Tools.
    Touch Printer Status Report. The product prints the report.

  • Scan with HP Photosmart Premium using Mac OSX 10.9.2

    I need to scan a document (must be in pdf) and email it to my son.  I have an HP Photosmart Premium printer and a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.9.2.  The printer says try starting scan from computer when I choose computer from printer screen.  I could use some help.

    Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
    Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom. Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

  • How do locate my WEP Key to link wirelessly to my HP Photosmart Printer?

    My Photosmart Plus printer pad is asking me for my WEP Key so it will link up to the computers in my home, including my iMac. How do I locate the WEP Key?.... I have a Linksys Wireless G Router.

    You need to access the admin area of the router. From a browser type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and hit return. That should bring up a prompt where you need to insert a user name and password to access your router's admin area. Hopefully you set up a password here and did not forget it. If not just put in 'admin' as the password. Then navigate to the wireless security page and you will see the info you want that you forgot, if indeed you set up a WEP key.
    Alternatively you could read the manual for your router.

  • WEP Password Is Too Long and Photosmart Premium C309A Will Not Accept It

    When I click on "Network Setup Wizard" it finds my wireless network with no problems. Then, it give the the space to put in my WEP password; unfortunately, the password is one character longer that it will allow me to put in, and so it will not connect to the network. I read somewhere else where someone said that you shouldf be able to go online and do that; I have been unable to find such a feature. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    First of all, do not use WEP. It is not secure, and can be broken by freewares within minutes. Use WPA encryption with a 13+ character key which is alphanumeric and has a special character.
    However, if you still want to use WEP, then try this other method of providing the WEP key: Start the software installation for the pritner on your PC. Select the connection type as Wireless connection. In the next screen, it will not find your printer Just click on Next and select the option 'My printer is not connected or not sure'. You'll be prompted to connect the USB cable between the printer and the PC. Once this is done, you should be able to pick your wireless network and type in your WEP Key on the PC and proceed.

  • Photosmart Premium C350g how to tell wireless working?

    Installing on a MacBook Pro hooked up by usb to new printer - Configuring the printer, no network showed up - even with that network visible to 3 other computers that are farther away from the router (the router is a Time Capsule). I have read through a number of threads, all seem to indicate that I should be able to see the printer's presence or it should see my network, but I can find no indication that this is true.  If I wire the printer to the router, it is there and configurable, but still will not see my network (after pulling the wired connection, restarting the printer, and using the panel to turn radio on).  In short, if the radio just didn't work in this printer, I would be in the same boat.  How can one tell that the radio works?  I haven't seen entries in the router log that would suggest it tried to connect.

    Thank you for the reply - I appreciate the help.  I wrote that first post at 1:30 AM, so first a correction - it is a Photosmart Premium AIO, model C309g.
    The blue 802.11 light is on when it is trying setup, or when turned on from the control panel.  The wireless test page shows it is on but not connected.  The printer shows up on the router when connected by ethernet cable, and I can look at wireless config settings in a web browser at that point.  I can set it up by USB but it doesn't see the network, either when it searches, or when it accepts the connection parameters my laptop is using successfully.  I tried setting it up again through the ethernet cable/web browser route, then disconnecting the cable and changing to wireless, but it still does not see the network.
    The router (Apple Time Capsule) I am using is advertising its existence, and shows up on 802.11n and 802.11g devices (laptops, iPhones, my neighbors can see it).   In addition, HP's tech specs on this printer say it has 802.11n wireless, so I don't think the g/n issue is in play.  What I am looking for is a way to confirm that the printer's wireless is actually working when I can't get it to see a network everything else has no problem seeing.  There is no Mac address filtering on the router; I have used WEP and WPA/WPA2 setups for the router, no luck.  Can I set the printer to broadcast an ad-hoc network ID or something so that it would show up to other devices, just to show that it is actually on the air?  Should it show up in the router's log files in any event? I can look for a Mac address from it, which I have from the config page, but I don't see it.
    I may have missed something in the settings/connectivity area, but I don't know what that would be.  At this point I am trying to eliminate the possibility that the 802.11 radio in the printer is faulty. 

  • Problem with installing Solution Center for a HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer - C309g

    Hi folks,
    I've searched many threads and found some directions to remedy this, tried them and have had no luck.
    I'm running Windows 7.  All updates are current.  When I bought the printer I installed the software (on Windows 7 OS) from the disc and everything was fine.  Fast forward a year and Solution Center stopped working.
    Uninstalled all HP software to reinstall.  I was only able to reinstall HP Update.  I was able to load the basic drivers for print and scan, but not the entire software suite including Solution Center.  The installation stops abruptly after "installing updates".
    I even downloaded and tried "PS_AIO_06_C309g-m_USW_Full_Win_enu_140_175" and got the same result as the original installation disc.
    What can I do with my printer (HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer - C309g)???

    I hate to hear you are having issues.  What suggestions have you tried?  Did you get an error when installing?  How are you connecting the device?  Before completing the below steps run the print and scan doctor to see what it indicates and if the issue is resolvable through that tool(click + beside utility diagnostic tools, then download beside print and scan doctor). Click Here
    If you are still experiencing the issue the steps below may help resolve it. 
    Try using the scrubber built into the software, then reinstalling from the current download available on the website. 
    From original printer installation CD:
    1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
    2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open
    3. Open folder Util
    4. Open folder CCC
    5. Run the uninstall_ L4.bat for non-HP computers only.    For HP computers run the Uninstall_L3.bat NOTE: Performing level 4 uninstall on HP computer will negatively affect operating system functionality-HP and I are not responsible for damages or loss of data caused
    6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
    8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

    9. Use the following tool to clean the registry.  Note: This utility is not HP sponsored or approved.  HP and I are not responsible for damages or loss of data caused by the utility.  This step is optional.   You can skip it if you want.

    11. Run the download to reinstall the printer
    From a download:

    4.. Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.
    5. Type %temp% in the run field and click OK.
    6. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    7. Open folder Util
    8. Open folder CCC

  • HP PhotoSmart Premium C310 - Windows 8 and Office 2013 - Where have the page sizes gone

    I have just upgraded to Office 2013 on my windows 8 PC.
    Now when I goto print, and click "printer properties" evert drop down is blank, and all the titles are in Chinese. HELP please.
    Also the page size options have now lost useful things like A4, Letter etc.
    Technet says to upgrade my printer drivers, but I'm on the latest ones, I can't contact support, as It says my printer is no under warranty support any more. I don't have fault with the printes, its with the driver. Please HP help.
    I can supply screen shots of the issue, but could not work out how to post them here!

    So only print functions and printer-related settings are in another language?  Did you use the installation disc that came with the printer or did you download the software from the HP Website?
    Here is a video on how to uninstall the HP driver from Windows 8 in case you can not understand the words.  And here is a link to the Photosmart Premium C310 Full Feature Software and Drivers for a Windows 8 64-bit PC in United Kingdom.  When I went to www.hp.com/support, I selected your country first and then chose the Software and Drivers section after that.  You will want to click the "Download" button and follow those instructions.  I hope this helps you.  Let me know if this provides for you the proper driver.
