I have an ipod touch that hasn't been used in a while. We want to use it now, but the screen says "ipod disabled. connect to itunes". When I connect to itunes it tells me to enter my passcode, however the ipod will not allow me to do anything (and I don't know the code anyway). I tried to put it in recovery mode as someone suggested by holding the home button while plugging the ipod up from the computer, but I never did get the "connect to itunes" symbol, I continually got the same screen saying "ipod disabled connect to itunes". this is the second time i have forgotten my passcode to my ipod touch, the first time i had no problem with resetting everything, it worked fine, this time it says ipod is disabled connect to itunes, so i plug it into my laptop and i sit there staring at the side bar on itunes till it comes up with my ipod, but it doesn't, when i do this on another computer it lets me restore it, but then it stops halfway and said cannot do this since ipod is locked with a passcode, please enter the passcode and try again, but if i cant get into it how can i put in my passcode? is there any way that i can find out my passcode, or any other way i can reset my ipod

My 7 year old daughter has an iPod Touch 4 and she used the wrong password too many times. She thinks she remembers her password now but we have already exceeded the attempts and it says "iPod is disabled" connect to iTunes. Is there any way we can get the device to allow another attempt? Restoring the iPod will do nothing to his iPhone.
When you restore it wipes the iPod clean no matter what computer you use.
The only plus to doing it form your home computer is if you have a backup stored there, then you can restore from the backup once it's done wiping.
