Forgot password for iCloud account in Apple Mail

Hi all,
I don't know why but a recently I've been asked to enter my icloud password related to my iCloud e-Mail address.
stupidly, I've forgot what my password is. is there a chance to reset it somehow?
To explain the situation a bit better and what I've tried already, here a short discription of the situation:
- I do have a appleID that is called [email protected] the related password is appleID_Password1.
with this combination I also conduct my purchases in iTunes and the AppStore. But to rule this possibility already out: It doesn't let me access my iCloud eMail account in Apple Mail. Funny enough, though, when visiting iCloud.com this is the combination with which I log onto iCloud incl it's mail service within the web browser.
- the iCloud eMail address for whose password I am looking is called something like [email protected] I have implemented it into my Apple Mail program running on Mac OS X Lion. Since setting up the account i've never ever been asked to enter my password. But now, out of a sudden, I was. And, of course, I couldn't remember it anymore. Hence, I don't receive any eMails sent to [email protected] anymore on my mac.
Can somebody tell me how to fix it, if it is not the password for my appleID??

Exactly this is what I am talking about: [email protected] is NOT the login for iCloud.
I used to have an Apple ID way before I've used iCloud. Back then, I provided my gmail-address as to set up my Apple ID.
Now, quite a while later, after I've bought an iPhone, I got access to Apple's iCloud. For the free @me.com eMail address that comes with iCloud I've chosen [email protected] Of course, as it is with every email address you gotta choose a password. I have chosen a different one that I have chosen for my Apple ID. Therefore, knowing the password for my Apple ID account doesn't help me with receiving my [email protected] mails when Apple Mail is asking for my [email protected] password.

    There is nothing anybody else can do.

  • Passwords for iCloud account not working on my phone or iPad

    I want to use a different Apple ID on all my products.  I can't however seem to change the email (Apple ID) associated with icloud on my phone or ipad.  I have an old address that I want to update.  However now none of the passwords that were associated with that old Apple ID are working now and I cant seem to change the ID at all?  I want to use icloud, but don't want it associated with this old email.  How can I change the ID associated with iCloud on my devices?

    If you have an old iCloud ID showing in Settings>iCloud as a result of updating to iOS 7, in order to change the ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Put in a request for another verification e-mail to be sent to you.
    Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
    Also check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether. You may also wish to contact your mail provider to see if their spam filters are removing the email before it gets to you.

    Apple are currently trying to get less secure passwords updated. They require that your account passwords are at least eight characters long and contain both alpha and numeric characters and at least one upper case alpha character.
    You might try changing your account password to match these requirements.

    Your iCloud account and Apple ID should be the same thing. If you go to iforgot.apple.com and enter in the account it's asking you for, you can reset the password for it there by using either security questions or by sending yourself an email. If that doesn't work, try giving apple support a call to get your password reset at

    It sounds like you’re running into a password issue with an older Apple ID that’s setup on your iPhone, which is preventing you from removing an iCloud account from your device. Take a look at the article linked below, it outlines all of the possible ways to change an Apple ID password.

    It sounds like you want to change your iCloud email address but cannot remember the password to do so. You should be able to reset the password for your account with this article:
    iCloud: Change your iCloud password
    Change your iCloud (Apple ID) password
    Go to the My Apple ID website (appleid.apple.com) and follow the instructions to reset your Apple ID password.
    For more information, see the Apple Support article Apple ID: Changing your password.
    After changing your iCloud password, make sure you update it on all your devices and in any email apps you use to get your iCloud email.
    On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > iCloud, then tap your iCloud account.

    Ok.  In that case you'll have to contact the Apple account security team for your country and request assistance changing the password for the old ID: Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security.  You'll have to prove your identity to them before they will change it.  If your country isn't listed, contact iTunes store support for help with this by filling out this form: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

    I doubt you are doing anything wrong. First day glitches 
    Reset the device.
    Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    Make sure you have Mail selected here >  http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

    If you updated the old ID at one point to create your current iCloud ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
