Forgot to remove SD card before warranty return...

Not sure if this is the right forum for this...
But does anyone know if Verizon will return an SD card that you accidentally left in your phone when you sent it back in for a warranty return? Not even really concerned about the card, just wanted the data back.
Cheers if anyone knows.

Thank you Elitist_Jerk for your response. You are correct in saying that once the phone is returned to us we are unable to return the SD card to the previous owner if it was left inside the device on accident.
@Caggeyder,
I understand how important it is to be able to retrieve the data that was on your SD card, but unfortunately once the device is returned to us we are unable to return the SD card that was left inside the device.
I trust this has fully answered your question.

  • Shredding date before warranty return...

One of my WD drives is clicking in bad way. I found over 2000 bad sectors after scanning with Drive Genius. I have all my drives encrypted with PGP and I would like to send my defective drive back to WD since is still under warranty. Since I have a lot of sensitive data would you recommend to wipe the drive clean using the 7 pass method or should I use the shredder function in Drive genius before returning it ?
Any advice would be appreciate it.
    Thanks

A single pass should make the data unreadable, but with the drive failing, it may not complete. Even if it does, some bad blocks may have been replaced with good spare blocks. In that case, the overwriting would be on the new blocks. The data on the replaced blocks would be untouched, but may have some errors (that's why the block was replaced).
It is unlikely that Western Digital reads all the blocks on returned drives looking for sensitive data, but if you are REALLY concerned, you would destroy the drive and buy a new one. You have to decide if the very small chance of data disclosure is worth more than the cost of a new drive.

  • Unable to remove agp card from g5 tower :(

I'm unsure what is holding me back but it seems that there may be some clip or latch stuck; I have never experienced this when removing a card before; but I cannot seem to get the back of the card to come out.
    suggestions? please.

Hi. It's possibly the clip shown at #2 in Figure 6 here
    http://www.info.apple.com/usen/cip/pdf/g5/073-0808.pdf
It can be really awkward; you just have to hold the clip out of the way and lift the card at front and back alternately - and hope.
    Good Luck.

  • HT5163 where do I get a SIM card tool for iPad 3?  My cellular data doesn't work now that I downloaded iOS6.  Instructions are to remove SIM card and then reinsert and it SHOULD work.

Where di I get a SIM card tool for iPad 3?  My cellular data doesn't work now tht I downloaded iOS6.1.  Instructions tell me to remove SIM card and then return.  Will that work? Verizon tells me it's an Apple issue.

I did that but was intimidated.  With your adivce I was more aggressive and it popped open. And I removed and replaced.  It works.  Thanks!

  • Remove cards before restoring iPad Air 2

Do I need to manually remove all cards from Apple Pay before doing a factory restore of the iPad Air 2 due to the glitch reported on the iPhone 6 causing the card not to be able to be added after restore due to traces left on the secure enclave requiring replacement of the device?

Yes... and not: Technology is always moving forward, of course. But is rare that new and more performant products are cheaper than previous ones. When that happens, some companies decide to give updates (with softwares) or some gifts to the last buyers of the previous version (I remember that happened once with the iphone, when Apple decided to give some money back to people that bought the previeus version in the previous 2 months). In my case it came out 3 weeks after I bought it, then no possible return for me. However thanks for the answer! of course is not a big deal...

  • Can I use a gift card to pay of my credit card balance? I bought a song off iTunes and I forgot to redeem my gift card before doing so.

    Hi everyone,
As you can tell from the topic of the discussion, I was just wondeirng if there's any way to use a gift card to pay off a credit card balance?
It's not a huge problem as I only bought one song, lol, but it'd be nice to know if I can use my gift card to pay off the balance. I forgot to redeem my gift card before purchasing >_<. Smart I know. So please, if some one knows the answer to reply back. Thanks!

Is there any way I can do it without using a credit card? Even if I can go somewhere to get it done?

  • Turn off phone before removing memory card N95

i have removed the memory card many times to plug into the computer. but last time i did it, i plugged it into the computer and it told be it needed formatting. I tried putting it back into the phone and everything had gone!
This is just advice so you dont have to go through the same problem. Ever since i have turned the phone off first and i also click on eject before removing the card from the computer, everything has been fine so far.

that's a good advice, since the PC have a feature that says you can safely remove the mem card/usb flash!
removing w/o this procedure can corrupt directory of mem card.

  • Macbook pro fails to read sd card with movies recorded on it, any ideas? I can view them in the video camera so know they are there somewhere. I am now thinking I should have formatted or initialised the new card before using it.

My macbook pro is failing to read a new sd card with movies recorded on it. Any ideas please? A previously used SD card has downloaded without problems. I have tried using a card reader as well as downloading from the video camera itself, neither works.
I can view the latest recordings on the video camera so know they are there somewhere. I am now thinking I should have formatted or initialised the new card before using it but didn't think of that at the time. Obviously don't want to do this now as it will wipe the movies.

  • HT1918 Trying to remove credit card from itunes account

Trying to remove credit card from daughters itunes account. I erase the billing information and click continue but it will not allow me to exit and save without putting some kind of billing information. There is no "None" option for me to select. What can I do?

If you only want the free apps, take a look here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is  critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)
    Regards.

  • HT1918 how i can remove credit card from my acaunt

how i can remove credit card from my acaunt

Songs that you downloaded to your iPad before playing them can be removed by swiping across the song title and tapping Deleted.  Music that you played without downloading them can only be removed by turning off iTunes Match in Settings>Music (which will remove all the music from your iPad).  Then you can turn iTunes Match back on again and download/play the music you want again.

  • How to remove sd card from iMac

hi how to remove sd card from imac ,thanks

If your machine is in warranty, be careful not to do anything more that might damage it when removing it from the optical drive.  You might even be able to convince an authorized service technician to carefully remove it under warranty from the optical drive.  It is a design issue that lets people accidentally insert the SD card in the optical drive.   Of course if that's the only copy of your information on the SD card, be sure to let them know that, so they are extra careful not to damage it when removing it.

  • N78 asking to remove memory card

Hi there, i have bought my N78 just one month ago and find it amazing for almost every aspect except that it has a problem with the memory card. The fist time i turned on the phone, i have no notice that the Nokia microSD 2gb memory card was inserted as there wasn't any icon in the screen. So as i removed it and put it back in, the card was recognized but after a while the phone showed me a message asking to "remove memory card and press ok".
I replaced the original Nokia card with a Sandisk card and still have the same problem, which is quite annoying because it is a brand new phone and i can't count with the memory card to store any information because after a while the card icon dissapears of the screen and it is like i have no memory card inserted in the phone.
    Any clue?? Thank you

There were a few similar issues with cards in other phones in the past - I thought Nokia had ironed these out, but maybe with the N78 still being quite new ..
I guess the most common issue was that the card wasn't formatted correctly. The way around is to format the card in the phone.
Another issue was that the firmware wasn't designed to work with larger volume cards. I'd be very surprised if this was the issue as 2GB cards have been around for ages, however it might be worth checking if you have the latest firmware. To do this you need to use the "Update phone software" option in PC Suite. This will install a newer version of the firmware is there is one available.
If neither of these helps, I guess you could try a factory reset. Not sure how that would help, but you never know.
NB: be sure and backup (and preferably synch) your phone before you attempt to update firmware or reset the phone as both of these erase everything in phone memory.
Have to say, the N78 I used didn't have any problems with it's 2GB card. It was SIM-free, though and SIM-free phones tend to be a lot less problem-prone than network-specific phones.
