Forgotten Document Password--Help!

My daughter just came in the room crying that she can't open the document she's been working on all morning on her old iMac (running version OX 8.6, Appleworks 5.0.3) because she changed the password to "something weird" and now can't remember it.
Any tips on working around that?

The only thing I can think of is to try icWord from Panergy Software. I do believe it has opened password-protected files for other users when I suggested it. Resave the file as AppleWorks 5 with a new name. Hopefully, she's learned about using memorable passwords or writing them down.

  • Forgotten EFI Password, HELP! (2010 Model)

I'm only 19, my parents purchased the computer for me years ago. I set an EFI password on it around that time as well -- STUPID DECISION!! Unfortunately, I ended up shattering the trackpad and was unable to fix it, let alone use it at all essentially, for 8 months or so. I finally was able to replace it and access my computer again and came to the realization that I cannot - for the life of me - remember my Firmware password, rendering half of my Macbook useless.. How do I fix this? Is there any form of proof of purchase I can look for? My parents have tried looking for the original receipt for proof of purchase but aren't very concerned about finding it.. Ugh. I just want to be able to use Bootcamp again and play my games on there!
Does the changing of the amount of RAM trick work at all? Or is my Macbook a lost cause?
    Thanks in advance..

****. Do you think Apple will be obnoxious about resetting it if I can't find proof of purchase anywhere? My parents can obviously come with and vouch that it's mine, since they purchased it in the first place. It hasn't ever had another account on it, only my own. I think the computer itself is named using my name in fact Ughhhhh! What a PITA!

  • Help forgotten my password, help forgotten my password

anyone tell me how I can find out my password for my I pad please ?

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
    Instructions can be found here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
You will probably have to use recovery mode.

  • I have forgotten my password for iPod Touch 4G and it is now disabled. I tried connecting to iTunes but i haven't synced before and i need to enter the password before i can back it up so i can restore it. I don't want to lose pictures so please help!

I have forgotten my password for iPod Touch 4G and it is now disabled. I tried connecting to iTunes but i haven't synced before and i need to enter the password before i can back it up so i can restore it. I don't want to lose pictures so please HELP!

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. That is how it works
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • My apple id attached to my itunes account has expired and i have forgotten the password that was attached to it! I have created a new apple id but cannot transfer it to my itunes which all my apple products connect up to on my mac?! HELP!

My apple id attached to my itunes account has expired and i have forgotten the password that was attached to it! I have created a new apple id but cannot transfer it to my itunes which all my apple products connect up to on my mac with all my pictures etc on!?! HELP!

My apple id attached to my itunes account has expired
They don't expire. As far as anyone knows Apple IDs live on forever - if you forgot its password use https://iforgot.apple.com. Good luck with the answers to whatever security questions it asks.
... I have created a new apple id but cannot transfer it to my itunes which all my apple products connect up to on my mac with all my pictures etc on!?!
Right! That's the reason you do not create a new Apple ID.
As far as Apple is concerned a new Apple ID is a completely different user, with absolutely, positively no access to anything available to any other Apple ID.
Concentrate your efforts on resetting the password to your old Apple ID. It has not expired, and is the only way to use all your existing iTunes purchases, App Store purchases, computer authorizations... etc. Forget about the new Apple ID you just created.

Pages created a random password for my document on my iPad. I have no idea what it is and I can't open my document. HELP!!!

    How old is your son?
Under the Spanner in Pages there is Set Password where you create a password with hint. You really have to deliberately dig this out to do it.
Do you get a hint when you are asked for the password?
The Password is very secure, if you can't remember what it is, you will have to recreate the document.

  • HT1212 The problem is that my iphone isnt connected/synced to iTunes and i've forgotten my password so iTunes isnt connected either so can someone pls help me?

The problem is that my iphone isnt connected/synced to iTunes and i've forgotten my password so iTunes isnt connected either so can someone pls help me?
    PLEASE HELP ME

    Hi Someonewashere,
In the article you were coming from, there is actually a section regarding what to do if you have never synced to iTunes before:
If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer
If you see one of following alerts, you need to erase the device:
"iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
"You haven't chosen to have [device] trust this computer"
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

  • HT1212 i have forgotten my password of itunes, i have taken backup of contacts but is unable to restore . pls help i have my important data in back up

    Dear Sir,
I have forgotten my password of itunes, i have taken backup of contacts but is unable to restore . pls help i have my important data in back up.
    Waiting for reply
    Thanks

    Encrypted backup?
    Read here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5162
If the backup you're trying to restore from is encrypted, you will not be able to use that backup if you can't remember the encrypted backup passcode.
If on a Mac, & you elected to save the passcode to your Keychain, you can recover the passcode from your Keychain. Otherwise, your backup data is unrecoverable.
While you can continue to sync/backup, if you can't remember it & want to remove it, you'll have to delete your existing backups, & restore your phone as a new device.
You delete your existing backups here: iTunes>Preferences>Devices.

  • I've forgotten my password and Skype haven't helped me one bit.

Hello, After updating to Windows 10, I tried to sign into my skype account, and faced the problem that I had forgotten the password to my account.  After contacting Skype support, they supposedly sent an Email to my Yahoo account, which DID NOT appear, and yes I checked my Junk/Spam folder. So I sent a support ticket out, which they said they would respond to within 72 hours, and it's now been nearly 5 days, and I've recieved no help, whatsoever. Anyone know what to do?

If you have the computer to which the iPhone was last synched, you can restore the iPhone on that computer.  That will remove the lock.  If not, then you have absolutely no choice but to place the phone into recover mode (search Google for instructoins) and restore the phone as a NEW device.
