Forgotten passcode for ipod

My 5 yr old has forgotten his passcode on his ipod touch.. How do I reset the passcode??

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

You don't get the password. You either know it or you don't.

Passcode for ipod touch

Went to use my ipod touch today and it asked for a passcode for the very first time ( have had it for 18 mos). I tried my apple and itunes passwords. Nothing works. Help

If for the screen-lock passcode, connect the iPod to its syncing computer and then restore via iTunes. If iTunes asks for the passcode and you can't enter the passcode or you do not have the syncing computer, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode:

You problem has been reported before and it just happens with no know cause.

Passcode for ipod problem?

When you go to the passcode section you get an option to choose when you want it to appear like everytime, 5mins, 10mins, etc...Now after recently deleting my ipod settings to fix the **** ipod itunes connection problems, I have noticed that I dont have an option to choose time anymore, the nly option I get is "everytime" no other time options? Idk how it just dissapeared. I like to use passcode for extra security but having to put in pass everytime is irritating.
I must say as a new ipod owner I am less than satisfied with the product, its always one problem after another.

Forgotten passcode on ipod touch

My 9 year old had a passcode on his ipod touch. Yesterday he went to use it and it keeps saying passcode incorrect and a message that says "ipod disabled" keeps coming up now. He didn't change it and it keeps locking us out for up to 60 min. at a time before it lets us try a new one. VERY FRUSTRATING! He is very responsible and I believe he did not change the code or just "forgot it". Help please..

Forgotten passcode disabled ipod, can't restore.

Hi there!
My son forgot his passcode, he is willing to have his iPod Touch restored but when I go through the steps here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
it doesn't bring up the restore option. It says the iPod is locked with a passcode and we must enter it, but it also doesn't clear the iPod and bring up the keypad either.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hold the home button and the sleep button together, don't let go, if you didn't enter the password to many times, the iPod may release itself. If not, ensure you take it to a shop that unlocks items, including iPods, as there is no oth way to unlock it.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

How can I change a forgotten restriction passcode for iPod touch

If you can't remember the Passcode, restore the device from the computer it was last synced with by placing the iPod in reocvery mode.

If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug (very important)
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note: Data will be lost
