Foriegn Currency diff in Parellel currencies.

Hi all,
I have a typical issue. My CC curr INR, 2nd LC USD, and 3rd LC SGD
We use FM-Commitment items for budgeting and CO-IO for cost collection.
FM area curr USD, so the budgets for the commitment items were maintained in USD
ISSUE
PO: PO created for 100 INR (No accounting entry-No issues)
MIGO: For this accounting entry GR/IR account is credited with 100 INR in LC, 2.25 USD in LC2, and 3.25 SGD in LC3.
MIRO: For this accounting entry GR/IR account is debited with 100 INR in LC, 2.30 USD in LC2, and 3.50 SGD in LC3.
So when I use F.13 to clear the open items in GR/IR account, system posts some line items to exchange loss expense account.
Where as my LC balance is 0 only, but there is a small diff in USD and SGD.
So my accounting entry is posted like (During F.13)
(PK)     (GL)     (AMT in LC)          (AMT in LC2)          (AMT in LC3)
(40)     (Exch loss)     (0.00 INR)          (0.05 USD)          (0.25 SGD)
(50)     (GR/IR)     (0.00 INR)          (0.05 USD)          (0.25 SGD)
There is no issue in LC and LC3 clearings.
For LC2, the amount Dr 0.05 USD is consuming from the budget figures (from the commitment item maintained in exch loss GL account). Since my budgeting curr and LC2 are same. (USD)u2026..this is what we are not expecting at all...
We made settings in OBY6 for this Comp Code as No Forex diff, when clearing in LC. But still this issue is coming.
Local currency is the base currency for the LC2 and LC3 conversion.
We are expecting the accounting entry at the time of F.13 like , there would not be any line items in that clearing document. (Clearing document without line items)
I know that, in PO, there is a check box called Exch rate fixed, if we select it during PO creation, this can be prevented. But all of my POs are created long back and GRN, INV are also done. We cannot edit the POs now.
Is there any other way, where we could not get any line items during clearing?
Thanks,
Srinu.......

Hi Sanjay,
I tried using USD as clearing currency also.
The result = 0 value lines in doc curr and loc curr, but there is sone value for the debit line item in LC2 curr.
Even though my clearing curr and LC2 curr are same. (USD)
Hi Jeff,
I dont mind about the usage of commitment item at all.
Please read my thread again for better understanding.
I dont want any line items during clearing.(clearing document without line items at all)
Please suggest.
Thanks,
Srinu

    Hi,
For this Scenario payment clearing is based on the exchange rate currencies for that purpose we configure that 2 setup accounts.
Briefly: If Invoice is raised as per date feb 1st  (1 us dollar = 45 rupees)and payment received on that 1 mar ( 1 us dollar=40 Rupees)for this the exchage rate values are may be different for that purpose.
For this scenarios it will be loss or gain.
    Hope you will understand.

    Dear san
Yes whatever currency you maintain at Company Code Level, that currency is going to be your local currency.

  • How to pay a forign currency invoice in another currency payment in R12

    Hi,
    I have Oracle R12.06.
How to allow cross currency payment, for example :
I have an invoice in USD , i need to make an payment for that Invoice in EUR or any other currency sometimes functional currency.
I already check the allow Multiple currency Payment for all bank accounts and also allow multiple currency in Payable options ,BUT I still not allowed to pay any invoice in different currency.
    Regards.

Please note the following in respect of payment in foriegn currency other than the functional currency:
    Invoice and Payment Currency.
Payment Region – Type - If the Payment Currency is different from the Invoice Currency and both are fixed-rate currencies, Payables displays EMU Fixed. If the invoice and payment currencies are the same, you cannot enter a value in this field.
If the payment currency is different from your functional currency, enter exchange rate information in the Payment Rate field.
You can pay invoices in a different currency only if the currencies are related fixed-rate currencies – EURO BASED CURRENCIES
In all the other circumstances other than above the invoice currency and payment currency has to be the same.
    They cannot be different,
    Hope this helps.

  • Local currency vs company code currency

    Hi
Can company code currency is diff. from local currency ?
In 90 % cases co. code is always local ..
    Thank you
    Vedavatee

Exactly prakash, but is there a consequence by not using company code currency as the local if we want to produce reporting but with the hard currency ?
What is the difference between using "local" (used day to day) currency as company code currency and using it as hard currency ? Is there an issue to convert exchange rates to produce statutory reporting ?
I hope my question is clear.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Problem clearing GR/IR when PO in currency different to Company currency

    Hi Experts
I have an issue where I have a PO in say USD where group currency for company is Aus Dollar (AUD)
At Month end, for whatever reason there is a GR/IR balance and we maintain it with MR11 but MR11 balances the difference in group currency (AUD) where all other postings for the PO are in USD.
When we run F.13 or F13E the account never clears as it only clears matching transactions of same currency. We seem to never be able to clear the posting created by MR11 (without introducing a large tolerance in F.13 perhaps?)
Any ideas on a way forward?
    thanks
    AC

    Hi AC,
Eventhough the P.O is in foreign currency, when you select the Only balances in local currency option, system stores the values only in company code currency. So while clearing you'll not face any issue.
If not maintain this indicator, then system stores the values in local currency and that foreign currency also, then while clearing you'll face the problem.
Only balances in local currency setting should activate to GR/IR clearing account

  • Foreign currency Payment using foreign currency bank account

    Hi,
    We have the following requirement:
    Functional currency : GBP
    Bank Account :USD
Need to make payments in CAD
Since the bank account is not in functional currency we are unable to make that multi currency payment enabled. Users do not want to create a functional currency bank account.
Now how to overcome this situation ?

Hi, I am referring to paying foreign currency (ap payments) using non functional currency bank accounts. Are you referring to payment or receipts in foreign currency ?
Please refer the in 11i ap guide
    1. pg 2-104
    "Dening Multiple Currency Bank Accounts
A multiple currency bank account is an account that accepts payments in more than one currency.
If you define a multiple currency bank account for payments, the currency of the bank account must be the same as your functional currency."
    2. Payment Formats pg 2-140
" When you define a bank account, you can only allow payment of multiple currency invoices if the bank account currency is your functional currency."
These 2 states that you can pay suppliers in foreign currency only if the bank acct currency through which you are paying is same as functional currency. But my bank account currency is different from functional currency.
Since you say you are doing , I am quite interested to find out more. Can you please let me know your currency setups on the bank and payment format.
    Thanks

  • Valuation Currency not posting Group Currency equivalent

    Hi FSCM Experts,
Can you help with this query please? We are activating FSCM FX and Hedge Management components.
We have maintained the Valution Currency as EUR for the company code. The company code has Local Company Code currency of EUR.  When the postings to the FI account happen from the TPM1 valuation transaction, the EUR value is only updated in the Loc Curr field. There is no USD equivalent showing in the Loc Curr2 field. There is no value at all updating in the Doc Curr field.
It is required that the values on the GL account also show out in USD equivalent and not just in local currency EUR.
This company code is a USD functional company code. That meas that under transaction OB22 (Additional Local Currencies for Company Code) under sections '1st Local Currency' and '2nd Local Currency'  the translation being used is 'Translation taking transaction currency as a basis'. This setting is a fundamental business requirement and cannot be altered.
Due to the fact that the Doc Curr (= Transaction Currency) field is not being updated in the TPM1 posting above, there is no value in the Transaction Currency field and therefore no translation is being done into Loc Curr2 (= Group Currency of USD).
Can you advise is there a way to get the USD equivalent to show on the GL account posting please? For example, is there a way to get the Doc Curr field to be populated when the TPM1 posting is done? If the Doc Curr field could be populated (eg maybe by the Position Currency etc) then the system would be able to do a traslation to USD equivalent amount per the settings in OB22 above.
Thank you for your advise here.

We resolved this using a BADI TPM_ACCIF_TRAC

  • Payment of foreign currency invoice in local currency

    Dear Experts,
We have a strange case, and requesting the SAP behaviour for this case.
The document (Invoice posted) in "SDR" special Dinar Rate (not standard currency), and the Local Currency is BHD - Bahraini Dinar, and wanted to pay in Foreign Currency in "EUR". mainted the payment currency in the document.
As far as I know system will check exchange rates for conversion from SDR - BHD and then BHD - EUR, so maintaining these two combinations are enough.
But strangely I am getting error while processing F110 automatic payment program, system is giving error "Enter the Rate EUR/SDR rate type M for 04.08.2010 in the system". Message No. SG - 105
I am facing this error after we upgraded to ECC 6.0 from ERP 4.7 in March 2010.  Paying in EUR is rarely happens.
    Awaiting your kind reply.

  • How to clear cumulative local currency balance of foreign currency Bank a/c

    Hi,
We are facing a problem with the foreign currency Bank account from which we make payment in foreign currency but when we see the balance in local currency there is a difference.
e.g Local Currency RMB Bank Account Currency USD
Current Balance in Bank Account 1000 USD RMB rate 0.275 Balance in Local currency 275
We make a payment of 1000 USD at that time rate is 0.270 Payment in local currency i.e. 270
When we display of GL Balance of Bank account it is showing 0 balance but balance in RMB still showing 5 KWD which is not correct as we dont have any balance in USD. How to avoid this situation.
    Regards,
    Nirmala S.

You have to configure realized and unrealized exchange rate gain/loss accounts in transaction code OB09 for all your foreign currency balance sheet accounts.  Once this configuration is done, you have to perform foreign currency valuation (F.05 or FAGL_FC_VAL) to clear the balance in local currency and post it to unrealized exch. rate gain/loss accounts configured in OB09 above.

  • Foreign Currency valuation on Foreign currency items posted in Local currency accounts

    Hi Gurus,
I have accounts maintained in local currency and only balances in local currency is not checked. Some items are posted in foreign currency.
Now system is doing foreign currency valuation on foreign currency balance of this account. I dont want system to do that.
Now how to correct it. I can make balance zero of account and then mark that tick of only balances in local currency but still system will do foreign currency valuation on items posted.
Appreciate you help in solving this issue. How to handle it?
    Thanks

    Hi ,
While executing Foreign currency valuation, you can select the GL accounts for valuation. Try to not input these local currency GL's.

  • FM for conversion of 2 decimal currency to 5 decimal currency

I specifically require a FM, for converting a 2 decimal currency value to a 5 decimal currency value for the following format.
I have a variable of type NETWR which is CURR 15 DEC 2
I need to store the same in either packed, character field or even currency will work but that should be of 5 decimal places as I need to display the value for USD5 currency.
For eg I am having a value in the variable of NETWR, 123456789.90
For this scenario i want output as 123456.78990
Write statement and move statement behaves correctly for this. ( we require this)
But main problem arises when my value of NETWR variable will be like 1.09, 21.09 or 221.09
as it stores 0.00109  0.02109 or 0.22109 which is worong and ideally that should be
1.09000, 21.09000 or 221.09000 for such cases in USD5 variable
I have checked By using various existing FM like BAPI_CURRENCY_CONV_TO_EXTERNAL, CURRENCY_AMOUNT_SAP_TO_BAPI , HR_NZ_ROUNDING_DECIMALS but these are not useful for this scenario
Kindly suggest some technique so that i can convert 2 decimal currency to 5 decimal currency.

    @ JAY,
Yes, I agree with you that this is some kind of wierd requirement.
But when i checked something in SAP i was wondering why I was not getting the same in my object.
In VF03 when you open any Billing document the net amount for USD5 is displayed in 5 decimals, although when i do F1 on the net amount field I get the technical details as NETWR which is CURR 15 DEC 2, now my assumption is that there must be some routine which will overwrite the currency depending upon currency key maintained for USD5.
But in my object that is not present and hence after performing some calculations I am storing the same in a variable of type NETWR so it will covert whatever calculation is in 2 decimals. But for the customer i need to show that in 5 decimals. which should be same as displayed when i see the invoice using VF03.
Hence I want a perfect FM which will work for my case. means for larger values and smaller values it should behave as i described.

  • Report showing GL Accounts with  document posted in currency other than local currency

We need a report that shows all the GL Accounts that had a document posted in currency other than local currency during the month. The purpose of such a report is that we should not miss any Foreign Currency Gain or Loss at the end of the month.

    Hi Ajay sir,
It's never be a bad idea. But I think Rajeev might be looking for a stright report than work around, which is not available.
