? forLogic Pros. Applying specifically tuned effects to multiple tracks?

How is it done? Let's say I have a Space Designed reverb that I have applied to a lead vocal track and I want to apply that same effect to a background vocal track without having to open another Space Designer and tune it the same as I've already done on the lead vocal track. Also what is the consensus on the pre- packaged vocal reverbs in Space Designer.

Adam is right - put SD on a bus, and send to that bus from those tracks you want the same reverb. This will also save a lot of CPU processing - multiple instances of SD will tax your system.
Also what is the consensus on the pre- packaged vocal reverbs in Space Designer.
As with any presets, they are intended as starting points - suggestions, if you will (just like speed limits), as somewhere to start and tweak from. Several SD presets are actually quite nice, especially some of the old plate reverbs.
One little SD trick: to cut down on processing, halve the sample rate while retaining length. This will cut down on overhead if you have multiple SDs on several busses.
Also, remember that in vocals, especially multi-track backing vocals, you can get nice effects by submixing a vocal mix and applying reverb to that submix.

  • Applying the same effect to multiple clips.

I have a piece of video split into parts on the time line. I'm trying to apply 1/ A continuous time code, using "time code generator" and the "viewfinder" effect.
Is there a way of applying these effects at the same settings to all 3 clips at the same time and also making the time code run continuously?
I've noticed when i apply these 2 effects to the individual clips with all the same size settings, they appear different on each clip.
    Any ideas?

If I read your question correctly I would suggest adding the filters to one clip and then copy the clip.
Then highlight the clips you also want those effects on and control-click and select paste attributes and check "filters".
Here's the problem though with you wanting to use continuous timecode. The timecode generator won't deliver what you want if you're cutting and moving clips around the timeline. For that you would want to use Timecode Reader instead

  • Advice Needed: Filtering/Adding effects to multiple tracks

I'm writing a dance song, and at one point would like to apply a few filtering sweeps on selected drum tracks.
Which is the best way to do it? Is it to bounce down the tracks into an audio file, then apply the effects onto that file by itself, or is it better to route the multiple tracks to an effects bus?
I have been trying using a bus, but have found that as soon as I route the tracks to the bus, the is a change in the sound quality of the track (louder and sometimes slightly distorted), even without any plugins on the bus. Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks.

How are you routing to a bus? If you are just using sends, then what's happeing is that the individual channels are going to the master output, and also being sent to a bus that is also going to the master output - this everything sent to that bus will get louder.
If you want to send a bunch of channels directly to a bus for insert processing, then change each channel's output to the bus, rather than the main output, so the individual channels only go to the mix via the bus, and not directly.
Or are you doing something different to that?

  • How can I/Is there a way to: apply a preset effect to multiple clips?

I will be editing a music video from this weekend in Premiere Pro CS4, is there a way I can paste a custom preset to multiple clips (selecting hundreds) without clicking each one and pasting/dragging?
If this can be done it's going to save me hours and hours of work!
If I try at the moment by CTRL clicking a few clips is only pastes/drags into 1 of the clips, not all of them!
    any help would be appreciated

    Yes, see the section
Copy and paste clip effects and
Apply effects to clips in the Premiere Pro Help.

  • Applying the same effect to multiple clips in a sequence?

I have edited a trailer containing multiple clips in a sequence and I want to add the same amount of sharpen to each clip. Is there a quick way of doing this instead of clicking on each clip seperately and applying the effect, adjusting it and so on....?

If you already have filters applied to the clips, then open the first clip in the Viewer and apply the filter you want - make adjustments as needed. Select all of the other clips in the Timeline that you want to apply the same filter and settings, then drag the filter from the clip in the Viewer to the highlighted clips in the Timeline.

  • Apple custom effect to multiple clips

Just received an extremely helpful type a bit ago and I'm hoping to capture lighting in a bottle twice.
I've done multiple Google searches on the subject but always came up empty. I'm looking to apply a custom effect to multiple clips at the same time (a link to a photo example is at the bottom of this post). Does anyone know a way of accomplishing this feat? It would increase my productivity ten-fold!
    Thanks

Apply all the effects you want to one image in the timeline.
Select that image, right click and select COPY.
Now, select ALL the other images in the sequence, right click and select PASTE ATTRIBUTES then select the check boxes that apply to the effects you wish to transfer.

edit: looked at your image - what you want to do is reuse a custom TRANSITION.
    Here's how.
Create the transition, save it as a favorite, then make it the default.
Park the playhead at the transition point and hit command +T

  • How to do one comp on multiple tracks..

I may be missing the an obvious feature, but I can't work out how to apply the same comp to multiple tracks. I.e. I record an instrument with more then one mic and am left with several tracks of the same take however from different microphone and positions. I then comp the best take, however I want my comp to be the same on each of the individual tracks. Please could someone help?
    Regards,
    t

I believe I may have answered this before, but anyway: the trick is to make the tracks part of the same group. In the group settings, chose only Regions selection (Edit). Now, when you edit one track, the other tracks in the same group will follow.
    Hope this helped!

  • Can I record multiple tracks simultaneously in v. 1.1?

Hey, I found some instructions online about how to record multiple tracks simultaneously in version 3, but I can't figure out how to do it in the old version I have, 1.1. Any help is appreciated. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping this feature wasn't implemented later. I have a two-mic setup for podcasts, and need to record both on diff. tracks.

Multi-track recording was added in v2
From STP 2 Manual - New Features:
    Multitrack Recording
With Soundtrack Pro 2, you can record across multiple tracks in the Timeline. (This is limited only by your hardware setup.)
    So, not available in v1
    Have you tried Garageband?

  • Applying Effect to Multiple Clips?

    Hi,
Is there a way within Final Cut Express to apply a single effect such as Chroma Keyer to multiple clips? I've seen this done with Final Cut Pro but can't seem to replicate it in FCE.
    Thanks for your help.

You do it exactly the same way you could do it in FCP. Drag the filter onto multiple selected clips, or copy a clip with the filter and use the paste attributes function.

  • How to apply an effect to multiple/all clips

I'm sure I'm missing something elementary here, but I can't find a way to apply an effect to multiple clips at once in PE7.  Specifically I'd like to apply the Auto Levels adjustment effect across all clips in my project (makes sense because they were all recorded at the same time), but at best can onely copy the effect from one clip or section on the timeline to another; one at a time.  When working with a project that has upward of 100 scenes, copy and pasting to each individual clip seems like a lot of tedious work that should be easier.
Does anyone have any suggestions or information that could point me in the right direction?
    Thanks!
    Dale

    Dale,
You have discovered one of the little "gottchas" with Copy/Paste Attributes - it does it for all.
I do not know of a way to eliminate Effects globally, i.e. multiple Clips in this case. Unless there's a neat workaround, or secret switch, I think it will be by hand. That is the way it is in PrPro. Don't know about PE, but In PrPro one can select some of the Effects to Copy/Paste Attributes (for many Effects, but not all).
Side note: Render your Clips and watch them closely with Auto Levels. I find that it "pulses" and that manually setting Levels (not the Auto one) is better.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Apply multiple effects to multiple objects with single click box

I would like to click on a click box and have one object appear and another object disappear. I guess what I'd like to do is apply effects to multiple objects with a single click box. Is that possible?
    Thank you.

    Welcome to our community
Sure it can be done but you won't use effects to do it.
When you insert an object in Captivate, you have an option to enable or disable Visibility. You also have an option to name the object. So you would give the object a meaningful name and clear the Visibility option to "hide" it until needed.
Then you would create an Advanced Action that would hide some objects and show others.
After that, you would assign the Advanced Action to a Click Box or a Button or some other event.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Applying same effect to multiple titles

sorry for the newbie questions (last video stuff I did was using avid and discreet effect many years ago)
I've got a load of titles that I want to apply the same effect to (something like a slide direction blur), I've been poking around to see if I can create the effect on a clip, then replace one title with another  OR copy and paste all the clip attributes (including position and transparency) OR create a preset that contains all the effects.
Ideally the solution would enable me to change the effect and update all the titles.  Is there a way?

I've got a load of titles that I want to apply the same effect to (something like a slide direction blur), I've been poking around to see if I can create the effect on a clip, then replace one title with another...
You can do this. Copy the title with the applied effect, paste it elsewhere into the sequence, and then hold down the Alt key as you drag the replacement title on to the pasted title. The effect will be preserved, but the clip will be replaced.
OR copy and paste all the clip attributes (including position and transparency)
You can do this, too. Select the clip with the effects in the sequence, either press Ctrl+C or go to Edit > Copy to copy the clip, select one or more target clips, and either press Ctrl+Alt+V or go to Edit > Paste Attributes. All effects and transformations will be pasted to the target clips, without changing the clips themselves.
OR create a preset that contains all the effects...
And you can do this, as well. With the Effects Control Panel open, hold down the Ctrl key and click on the names of all the effects you want to include in the preset. Click the flyout menu (it's the tiny four-stack of pancakes at the upper-right corner of the pane) and select Save Preset. I'll let you figure it out from there
Ideally the solution would enable me to change the effect and update all the titles.  Is there a way?
No way to directly do this; any effect or effect preset applied to a clip is an independent instance, and is not connected to the original in any way. However, you could use the preset building process I outlined above to semi-quickly update all your titles. If you've applied an effect or effect preset you don't want any more, select all the clips that are thus effected, and right-click on one of them and select Remove Effects. Tick the options that you want to remove. Then, rebuild your preset, and apply it to your clips again; you can apply a preset to multiple clips by selecting them all and dragging the preset from the effects bin. It's a little bit of a round-about way, but it's about the quickest it can get.

  • Applying effect to multiple master clips in bin

Basically I would like to apply the timecode reader effect to multiple master clips in a bin so that I can batch export those clips to an external drive for the director to take and watch at home.
I know how to apply an effect to multiple clips in a timeline, but is there a way to do it right to multiple master clips in a bin?
Right now my process is to duplicate the clips for a scene as new master clips in a separate bin, one by one apply the timecode reader (as favorite effect) to each clip, then batch export those clips to the external drive.
As I get to the scenes with many many clips, applying the effect gets a bit tedious. Just hoping there's a faster way I'm not thinking of or unaware of.
    Thanks.

It always seems like a strange thing to do, but the standard for these kinds of things seems to be to put everything on the timeline, apply the effects (you know how), and then drag them off the timeline into a fresh bin.
It's very quick and does the job just fine, but always somehow feels.. wrong.
If there were a way for a timecode reader to be applied by Compressor, then it would be much more of a batch thing. But I don't think there is.

  • Best way to apply same effect to multiple clips?

I have a bunch of short clips in the timeline. I want them all to end with a "fade to black" and I want the audio to fade to 0 db. I know how to do this by applying the "fade to black" and then applying 1/2 a crossfade 0db. Is there a way to apply these two effects to several clips at once? How do I apply the audio and video effects together to a single clip with one move?

create the effect using the opacity and volume overlays on one clip in the timeline, then right-click and copy. Select (ie highlight) the other clips you want, right-click any of them and choose 'paste attributes'. From the pop up you'll want to check the relevant options, opacity and audio levels, and that's it.

  • Add effects to multiple clips

    Hello
I'm wanting to add effects to multiple clips (more specifically sharpen and color correction)
I select all the clips and drag into the viewer, but the effects only apply to the first clip. How can I easily have the effects apply to more than one or all clips in the timeline.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Here's how you do it:
    1. Apply the effects to one clip.
    2. Copy the clip
    3. Select all of the other clips you want to apply the same effects to
    4. Go +Edit > Paste Attributes.+ (I believe the command is Option-V)
    5. Check the filters box.
    6. Click OK.
    Hope this helped,
    Sasha
