ThanksWell, first of all why you want to go for 2 tier stuff ? You should be using Forms 9i/10g and application server (that is: 3 tier architecture).
The software (that is Developer 2K) would obviously be different for all the platforms just like any other software.
Also give us the details of your setup (server and client machines), so that some other suggestions can be given.

Okay, i missed the 2nd line in your post. So your server is Windows based and you want to use Linux based client to connect to it. If the executables are to be deployed on Windows then you need to compile also on Windows. So compilation of binaries on your client is out of question. You can only develop and make changes sitting on your client machine. Now if there is any version of Forms 6i for Linux ? i am not sure. You need to check.

  • M58p 7479-RS2 Small Form Factor PC - Recommendations For Operating System

    Hi
I am having trouble working out which Operating System to get for this older computer (produced in 2008 I think).
The closest model to it I can find, on Lenovo's web site is the M58p 7479-RS1.
This shows several firmware updates and a BIOS update but I need an Operating System to begin this process really, and not knowing which one to get is annoying.
Could someone shed some light on a good one to get for this pedigree of machine ? ...
    Thanks in advance,
    Matt McAllum.

Some versions of that system were sold with Windows 7, and drivers are available, so that would be my suggestion. If you won't be upgrading beyond 2GB, then use 32-bit; 4GB or more, use 64-bit.

  • Printer compatible with Windows 2000 and Windows 8 operating system?

My office needs to access a terminal server hosted offsite.  The terminal server uses Windows 2000.  My laptop is Windows 8.   Since I upgraded my laptop I am no longer able to print.  Do they make a computer that is compatible with both versions of Windows?  Is there a fix?  I should also mention, I purchased a new HP and it wouldn't work either.  augh!

Windows 2000 has been successfully tested with the AT interface card. The file: "Win2000Issues.rtf" (located in the "nifbus" directory) illustrates how to install the AT-FBUS interface card under the Windows 2000 platform. However, the PCMCIA-FBUS card is not supported at this time. In order to use the software under Windows 2000 the "MFC42.dll" file must be in the same folder as the Configurator, otherwise display problems may be experienced.
Windows ME has also been tested with both the AT and PCMCIA interface boards and appears to work well. Additionally, the Configurator software has proven to be stable under ME.

The Creative Cloud application becomes inoperable continually on both my Windows 7 and 8.1 operating systems. I'm tired of re installing the application after deleting the OOBE file to get updates and syn settings between computers for Photoshop. Is this an endemic problem with others? I'm using Google Chrome as my browser. Is this an issue with the problem?

Similar problem just happened to me with the Creative Cloud Update 1.7.1.418—slightly different so I thought I'd share. I have multiple Adobe Creative Cloud programs installed on my computer, all working just fine. I updated the Cloud App to the latest version and then it shows me that I have only one program installed! All my previously installed programs (Photoshop and the like) still work but show as "install" instead of "Up to date". Initially I thought I'd have to re-install the Cloud app or recreate the OPM data base but then I noticed that some of the Cloud app preferences (Apps > Settings > App Language) were different to what I had set previously. I use English (International) language, the update had reverted the app back to English (North American). I flicked back to my previous language and bam, all my apps now show as being installed correctly.

I had to delete everything on my computer and install the operating system again , but I had to install Snow Leopard because it was the cd that came with the computer when I bought it. The problem is that I had already paid for the OS Lion and even had upgraded to the Mavericks . I do not think it's fair to have to pay again and I would like to upgrade my operating system without having to pay again for the same system.

    Hi anatuta,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you are trying to upgrade your Mac to a newer version of OS X, after completing a fresh install of Snow Leopard.
If you have already purchased and downloaded OS X Lion and Mavericks, you should be able to find these items in the Purchased section of the Mac App Store.
You may find the steps in this article helpful with finding the items:

If you do not see the items in the Purchased section, they may be hidden:

  • Do I need special version of forms 2000 and forms 6i for Xandros Linux?

    Hi,
Please tell me if someone knows that, do i need any special version of forms 2000 and forms 6i
for 'xandros Linux' or the same can be install which we usually use for windows xp or 2000.
    Regards and thanks in advance.

Have in mind that Xandros is not certified. However, the biggest problem if the distribution is a newer on is about OpenMotif libraries as Developer 6i installation requires version 2.1.30 to install successfully.
If it may be of any use, there's a guide on installing on [SLES 8|http://knol.google.com/k/cuauhtmoc-amox/install-oracle-developer-6i-on-suse/153594c4goidl/3].

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/baddns.php
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/hackedrouter.php
If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

  • INdesign and 64 Bit Operating Systems

Been having problems with my INdesign, and the tech people on the support line said it is because I have Vista 64 bit operating system. This sounds very strange to me, as INdesign is the industry standard, and 64 bit operating systems are the norm. Does any one else have experience trying to run INdesign on a 64 bit system?

Bob's right; I'd suggest ignoring the 64-bit issue and just getting familiar with coming to the forums for assistance. I've worked phone tech-support jobs before; phone support reps are judged by how fast they can get you off the phone, and if you start the call with "Hey, I'm running ID on a 64-bit system" then they can get you off the phone immediately, so you just gave their call-time metrics an easy statistical boost.
    1) So, yeah, the baseline grid will cause stuff to snap to it if you have that setting turned on in the "Grids & Guides" section of the View menu.
    2) "Manual overrides" means that you can format text manually by clicking on the Font menu, and that will cause your formatting to diverge from what is defined in the style. Take a look at the style name; does it have a little plus next to it? That means that the text you've selected diverges from the style. Clear the overrides to return the text to the settings in the paragraph style. You can do this with an alt-click on the style name, or by clicking on the options pulldown in the Paragraph Styles panel and choosing "Clear Overrides." I do it so often that I have a keyboard shortcut set up to do it (in Edit -> Keyboard Shortcuts).

  • Configuration Items and 64 Bit Operating Systems

I have created a few CI's that check for a value in the registry. The key I'm using in the setting is the 32 bit HKLM\Software key. I have checked the box "This registry value is associated with a 64-bit application". What I'm looking for is a
32-bit application installed on both 32 and 64 bit operating systems. With that box checked, according to this article (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712331.aspx) it will
search in both the 32 and 64 bit registry locations, meaning it should check in HKLM\Software as I have in the setting and also in HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node. Is this correct?
I'm asking because it isn't doing this and reporting that the 64 bit computers are non-compliant instead, when they are compliant. How do I get it to check the 64 bit registry path without building separate CI's and adding them to a separate 64 bit baseline?

It just sounds like it checks both locations as stated below.
This registry key is associated with a 64-bit application -
Specifies whether the 64-bit registry keys should be searched in addition to the 32-bit registry keys on clients that are running a 64-bit version of Windows.
    Note
If the same registry key exists in both the 64-bit and 32-bit registry locations on the same 64-bit computer, both registry keys are discovered by the global condition.
So, how do I get it to check the HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node? Does it redirect to check here if I
    don't check that box than?

  • Proposal for operating system independent firmware...

    Dear Nokia,
I am certainly not the only Nokia user who does neither use Microsoft, nor has local access to a MS run system.
Thus, I really dislike the situation that you make firmware updates bound to Microsoft driven machines, at least for certain N-series devices that do not feature FOTA.
I cannot imagine, that you are unable to provide simple command line based tools for operating systems besides MS. Even more, I am sure such tools do exist somewhere in your labs, the one or other developer may have cobbled together such a tool as a prove of concept.
Especially since Finland is the home of the most popular free Unix-like system  I do not understand this

Some versions of that system were sold with Windows 7, and drivers are available, so that would be my suggestion. If you won't be upgrading beyond 2GB, then use 32-bit; 4GB or more, use 64-bit.

  • Demand of protection and improvement of operation system

Demand of protection and improvement of operation system
From April 2014 the support for Windows XP will stop. Therefore I try to find a way to protect the OS
Currently I have many problems with Windows.
I have experience with Windows Vista, Windows 7 and of course with Windows XP
    So I can compare.
XP was straight. Currently I work with general Internet connection with limited user rights.
For maintenance and new installation I use Administration mode (user mode with unlimited rights).
To eliminated male ware or virus I have to use safe mode or safe mode with Network.
Microsoft Vista was to compact and tried to provide User mode with limited user rights for all users.
Basically the concept for User mode with limited user rights should be voluntary required and not be required for all users.
I guess if separate user profiles will be provided, it will be easier to the user to understand what the user needs or like to go for.
Following 5 modes could be provided
First the Risky mode should be provided (actually it is needed to set up the PC).
Then the user should have the possibility to switch between the modes
-Administration mode 1 “to install new soft and hard ware”
-Administration mode 2, Safe mode “maintenance, male ware and virus elimination”
-Administration mode 3, Safe mode with Network connection  ”Administration mode 2 with Network connection”
-User mode 1 with full user rights. (Risky mode) for brave advanced user, who do not be afraid against attacks from the Internet.
-User mode 2 with limited user rights and possibility to switch to a mode with higher user rights.
Otherwise it will be very difficult, if you prefer, to be protected against external attacks over the Internet.

    I'd ask them over here.
