  • How to show more than one record at a form-like style report?

    Hi All,
    I developed a form-like style report
    I want it to show more than one record at once (At the same page)
    I tried that by setting the value to "Maximum records per page" property for the repeating frame to 10
    but when I close the property palete and open it agian the value is returned to 1 !!!
    how to show more than one record at the same page?????
    Thank u

    Hi,
    there's perhaps another property like "page protect". If than 2 records didn't fit at one page there's a page break. Or is there any object inside the repeating frame with page-break properties? Sorry .. it's like looking into a chrystal ball ...

  • IF Form region AND report + search tool in same page THEN = problem

    Helllo everybody
    I posted an initial and now the advanced as I received helpful comments but still is unsolved:
    Problem:
    If I have a Form, and a Report With a Search feature on the same page the problem is that when I click on the button of Search to find records in the Report, the page reloads as it goes and returs to the server. Alright, however, that reloading causes the Form to submit data while there is no data because I was not working with the Form. When the report gets the "submission of the Form" it receives all empty data and it complains as it cannot have Null values in its rows.
    Solution:
    The thing would be to tell the form not to submit anything unless expressley pressed the button Create or Save. It seems that these buttons activate when the page is reloaded I mean reloaded by haiving pressed the button Search of the Reports region.
    The helpful comments were in the direction of going to Processes, Automatic Row Processing and then choosing a conditional for processing of the Form, that it, it would only activate (submit itself if that condition is met)
    So I go to PL/SQL Function body Returning a boolean and I paste this: RETURN :REQUEST IN('SAVE','CREATE');
    but the problem continues unsolved, that doesnt help. It must be very close but there is something I am missing
    thank you very much

  • Difference between AFTER PARAMETER FORM and BEFORE REPORT in Reports 6i

    Hi Aii,
    What is the difference between AFTER PARAMETER FORM and BEFORE REPORT in Reports 6i.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Balu

    Hi Balu.,
    As per my findings the After Parameter is fired after the Parameters are given to the report and Before Report fires when the queries are parsed and data is fetched.

  • I am currently using FormsCentral to distribute a form created in Acrobat. I need to add an option to one of the drop down fields but do not want to re-distribute the form due to reporting purposes. How can I do this?

       I am currently using FormsCentral to distribute a form created in Acrobat. I need to add an option to one of the drop down fields but do not want to re-distribute the form due to reporting purposes. How can I do this?

    You can open the form in Acrobat, select "File > Save a Copy", open the copy you just saved (it doesn't happen automatically), edit the dropdown to add the new item, save as a new file, and then Reader-enable the file by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools. The resulting PDF should work with FormsCentral just like the original.

  • Parameter Form in Oracle Report!!

    Dear Oracle Users' Group:
    I have problem with "Parameter Form" in Oracle Report.
    The Report that I created has the SQL:
    "SELECT A.FIELD1, A.FIELD2
    FROM MYDATABASE.MYTABLE A
    WHERE
    A.FIELD1 = :P_1";
    When the report is run, it asks for the parameter
    and generates the report based on the runtime
    parameter. Works perfect on Oracle8i database's
    Report front end.
    The PROPERTY PALETTE for the FIELD (Field that
    takes the runtime parameter) is:
    ====================
    General Information
    Name: PF_P_1
    Comments:
    Parameter Form Field
    Source: P_1
    Parameter
    Datatype: Character
    Width: 40
    Initial Value:
    Validation Trigger:
    List of Values:
    (For the list of values, I have put the SQL:
    "SELECT DISTINCT A.FIELD1 from
    MYDATABASE.MYTABLE A", Also I had
    tried with list of fixed values like A, B, C)
    Web Setting
    Additional Attributes (HTML):
    ================
    But the report does NOT work when called from the Web.
    (This is only because of the problem with this Parameter
    Form in my report. If I get rid of the parameter form by
    changing the last line of my SQL to: "A.FIELD1 = 'Chicago'",
    it works fine from the Web).
    When accessed the report from the Web, the error I get
    is:
    Oracle Reports Server CGI - Report Job has terminated with this error.
    Reports Server Replies:
    REP-0788: Warning: The value of restricted LOV parameter P_1 is not among the selectable values.
    I do not know what is the error with this simplest Parameter Form based Report!!
    In the Property Palette (above) of the Field, there was a field named "Additional Attributes (HTML)"
    under "Web Setting" heading.
    Do I need to write something there!!
    Please help!!
    thanks.

  • Database link works for form but not report

    I have created a database link to the scott.emp table in a remote database then created a local synonym in my Portal.
    I then created a Form and a Report referencing the local synonym. The for works and allows me to insert record but the form does not. The report compiles fine but I get a message that Portal can't find the underlying table. It seems that if the form works then the report should too. Does anyone have a recommended solution?
    Thank you.
    Sam Masias

    There is a bug filed for this issue. And it should be taken up for fixing most probably in next release.

  • Pass a set of Records form Form to a Report

    Hi,
    Lets say that I've already fetched a set of records on Oracle Form, and I want to pass these reocrds to a Report " on the Report I dont wana use range or where clause to give me these recods"
    Any ideas how to do that please?
    Thanks!

    Passing a (Forms) Record Group as DATA_PARAMETER to Reports:
    First example:
    Forms code (in WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger) calls reports module
    and sends record group "rg_dept" (populated from :SYSTEM.LAST_QUERY) as parameter:
    DECLARE
    rg_id_l RECORDGROUP;
    rg_name_l VARCHAR2 (30) := 'RG_DEPT';
    status_l NUMBER;
    pl_id_l PARAMLIST;
    pl_name_l VARCHAR2 (30) := 'PARAM_LIST';
    BEGIN
    rg_id_l := FIND_GROUP (rg_name_l);
    IF NOT ID_NULL (rg_id_l) THEN
    DELETE_GROUP (rg_id_l);
    END IF;
    rg_id_l := CREATE_GROUP_FROM_QUERY (rg_name_l, :SYSTEM.LAST_QUERY);
    status_l := POPULATE_GROUP (rg_id_l);
    IF status_l <> 0 THEN
    RAISE FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE;
    END IF;
    pl_id_l := GET_PARAMETER_LIST (pl_name_l);
    IF NOT ID_NULL (pl_id_l) THEN
    DESTROY_PARAMETER_LIST (pl_id_l);
    END IF;
    pl_id_l := CREATE_PARAMETER_LIST (pl_name_l);
    ADD_PARAMETER (pl_id_l, 'Q_1', DATA_PARAMETER, rg_name_l);
    RUN_PRODUCT (REPORTS, 'rec_group', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, pl_id_l, NULL);
    END;
    Reports module must have query with the same name as parameter in ADD_PARAMETER
    statement (in this code - "Q_1"), and SQL Query Statement in Reports must have
    same number and type of columns as record group, for example:
    SELECT ROWID, 1 deptno, 'x' dname, 'x' loc FROM DUAL
    And - we can't pass a DATA_PARAMETER to a child query in Report Builder.
    Data passing is supported only for master queries.
    Second example:
    Forms transfers to Reports records from "dept" block,
    using non-query record group (populated from Forms "dept" block in a LOOP):
    DECLARE
    rg_id_l RECORDGROUP;
    rg_name_l VARCHAR2 (30) := 'DEPT';
    row_count_l NUMBER;
    rgc_id_l GROUPCOLUMN;
    pl_id_l PARAMLIST;
    pl_name_l VARCHAR2 (30) := 'PARAM_LIST';
    BEGIN
    rg_id_l := FIND_GROUP (rg_name_l);
    IF NOT ID_NULL (rg_id_l) THEN
    DELETE_GROUP (rg_id_l);
    END IF;
    rg_id_l := CREATE_GROUP (rg_name_l);
    rgc_id_l := ADD_GROUP_COLUMN (rg_id_l, 'deptno', NUMBER_COLUMN);
    rgc_id_l := ADD_GROUP_COLUMN (rg_id_l, 'dname', CHAR_COLUMN, 14);
    rgc_id_l := ADD_GROUP_COLUMN (rg_id_l, 'loc', CHAR_COLUMN, 13);
    GO_BLOCK ('dept');
    FIRST_RECORD;
    row_count_l := 0;
    LOOP
    row_count_l := row_count_l + 1;
    ADD_GROUP_ROW (rg_id_l, row_count_l);
    SET_GROUP_NUMBER_CELL (rg_name_l || '.deptno', row_count_l, :dept.deptno);
    SET_GROUP_CHAR_CELL (rg_name_l || '.dname', row_count_l, :dept.dname);
    SET_GROUP_CHAR_CELL (rg_name_l || '.loc', row_count_l, :dept.loc);
    EXIT WHEN :SYSTEM.LAST_RECORD = 'TRUE';
    NEXT_RECORD;
    END LOOP;
    IF row_count_l = 0 THEN
    MESSAGE ('Nothing to print'); PAUSE;
    RETURN;
    END IF;
    pl_id_l := GET_PARAMETER_LIST (pl_name_l);
    IF NOT ID_NULL (pl_id_l) THEN
    DESTROY_PARAMETER_LIST (pl_id_l);
    END IF;
    pl_id_l := CREATE_PARAMETER_LIST (pl_name_l);
    ADD_PARAMETER (pl_id_l, 'Q_1', DATA_PARAMETER, rg_name_l);
    RUN_PRODUCT (REPORTS, 'REC_GROUP_REPORT', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, pl_id_l, NULL);
    END;
    This works in Forms 6i. In Forms 9i we must use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT instead of RUN_PRODUCT
    (see Oracle MetaLink document 110495.1 "Passing a Record Group to Reports Using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT").

    I have more then half decent results with webcache as load balancer, but it still is a round robin (as mentioned before). This means that a session will not be transfered from one application server to the other once the session has been created.
    So far I did not discover any benefits of a hardware loadbalancer over webcache, because (here it is again:) you are not able to transfer open sessions from one application server to the next. This has to do with the Oracle Forms architecture. In fact it is still client-server, only with the application server functioning as extra server ;)

  • Calling Reports from Forms, and creating Reports objects

    Hello I'm trying to create a Form which lists and launches all of our Reports. In our Client/Server set up we just have a Form which is based on a lookup table of Reports. When the user selects a report on the Form RUN_PRODUCT is used to call the report.
    In Forms 9, do I have to create a Report object in the Form for every Report in our system and do I really have to modify the Form every time a new Report is created to add the new Report in?

    Hello,
    <p>No, one single report object could fit for any report, if you modify its properties at runtime.<br>
    For information, I have written a Forms 9i module able to run any report with 0 up to 10 parameters</p>
    <p>Hope this helps</p>

  • Images in HTML forms and/or reports

    Hi,
    Apologies if a stupid question, but can you display a combination of data and image content in Portal HTML forms and/or reports? If so, how?
    This question assumes that the image in question is browser-supported (e.g. gif file), and the link to it is in the same database table as the data being reported (as a bfile data type).
    Alternatively, what if the image was actually directly stored in the database table as a BLOB data type?
    Help!
    Cheers, Jeff

    Hi Sharmila,
    Thanks for the info!
    Would this also work if the image wasn't a blob, but instead just stored on the filesystem (as a gif file), with the reference to it stored in the database as a bfile datatype?
    Thanks once again, Jeff
    Hi,
    You can build portal forms to upload images. You can use blob columns here. You can also have images in a report. This will be the SQL to query data from tables having intermedia data.
    Select a.empno,a.ename,a.mgr,a.sal,
    portal30.wwv_user_utilities.get_intermedia('EMP','EMP_AUDIO','AUDIO',a.rowid)
    the_audio, b.dname,b.loc,
    portal30.wwv_user_utilities.get_intermedia('DEPT','DEPT_PICTURE','IMAGE',b.rowid) the_picture
    from emp a, dept b
    where a.deptno = b.deptno
    The table should have the ordimage column type.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila
