Form 6i & oracle 8i lite problem
Problem:
I have installed first Oracle8i Lite Version 4.0.0.2.0 on my computer witch has no network card and it works wery well with The Open Client Adapter (OCA).
Then, I have installed Oracle Forms and Reports Release 6i, and from this moment, I get this message : "OCA-30002: ubofscr function not supported".
In the release notes, I can read :
"OCA Release 6.0.5.3.0 is installed for compatibility with Oracle Required Support Files version 8.0.5. If you install newer client tools which upgrade your Required Support Files to version 8.0.5.1, you may experience an error message, "OCA-30002: ubofscr function not supported". To upgrade OCA to correct this problem, copy the OCA605290.zip file from the \WIN32 folder of the Oracle8i Lite CD-ROM, unzip it and follow the instructions in the README.TXT file which it contains."
But on my Oracle8i Lite CD-ROM, there is no OCA605290.zip file from the \WIN32 folder.
I installed the Oracle client adopter (6052900) from oracle form&report 6i thru custom installation. Now I get the error message "ORA-00022 Invalid session id, access denied". The sqlplus8 also giving the same error message, although the sqlplus finally connects. Form6i & report 6i does not connect to the 8i lite thru the ODBC.
Oracle support, pl. give us a fix.
I have your same problem, I can't connect to local database in Forms6I. I have understood that it's possible to access Oracle Lite's local database via ODBC in SQLPlus; in fact if you connect to SQLPlus with username/password scott/tiger@ODBC:polite, you access to local database. So I think it will be possible in Forms6I too, but how? If I try to connect in Forms6I using the same username /password, I obtain error 'OCA-30002: ubofscr function not supported'
If something has some suggestion, please answer me.
Thanks

Hello,
I just installed Oracle 8i Lite on Windows XP Professional. I have some trouble with local databases, connecting to them, defining TNS, and Listeners.
Ok question is realy simple, how to i connect to Local database i create myself, and how to i access it trough SQL Plus?
When i create my local database called "test" i define TNS and listeners as stated in manual. When i try to connect trough Navigator, it simply works sometimes, but sometimes it just freezes. I cant test it trough TNSPING because all the time i get error TNS:No Listener.
I hope my questions are clearly understandable
Thanks in advanced for any help provided

Oh, I've done that about 5 times, completely uninstalling Oracle
Lite and even 9i, then reinstalling from scratch. What I've
discovered since then is that the webtogo.ora has some mistakes
in it. It refers to Oracle 8i java engine in the line
jdbc:oracle:oci8:@WEBTOGO.WORLD
Which I had to replace to oci9, also that the port defined for
webtogo were in conflict with the port from Oracle http server,
so i moved them to 8800 and 8801. That done I can start my
webtogo in standalone mode, however I still cannot login into
it. This because of the failed repwizard.bat I have managed to
run the acl.sql script and my databases are populated but I
cannot get it working.
Can you provide me with a webtogo.ora from a working install, to
see what is wrong in mine, anyone?
TX,
FredericA regular Oracle database environment comes with several mandatory userids. These include SYS and SYSTEM. SYS 'owns' all details of the database and SYSTEM is the 'super DBA'. These are database userids, not operating system userids.
I suspect the repository wizard wants to access the SYSTEM userid to be able to create a new schema (equivalent to 'database' for other vendors) within the Oracle environment.
In older versions of Oracle, the default SYSTEM password was 'MANAGER'. These days, any security conscious DBA will have changed that quickly, but ... -

Oracle 8i Lite 4.0.2.0 & Satellite Forms 3.1
Hello,
I'm a french developper and I'm working on a software prototype on
PalmPilot. A drug dispensing software from TGS IN SITU that enables
medical prescription management on Palm with application developped
with Satellite Forms and data stored in Oracle 8.1.5 database.
I-The configuration on my Windows NT WS plattform
1.Oracle Server 8.1.5
2.Oracle 8i Lite for handheld device (Palm)
II-The mecanism transport : http
1.I used Web-to-go listener "http.bat"
2.Win NT RAS sevice for TCP/IP
3.iConnect Consolidator Server for replication "mgp.bat"
III-The Palm device
1.Consolidator Client for Palm : "ConsolidatorClient.prc"
2.Satellite Forms application files (*.prc and *.pdb)
3.OracleLauncher file for the HTTP conduit "OracleLauncher.prc"
IV-Schema creation with JAVA API
1.Creation of one master table NAMES with 2 fields and a primary key
constraint on the Oracle 8.1.5 DB server.
2.Creation of Consolidator Objects (Clients,Publications,Publication
Items,Subscription,...) in java file.
3.Execution of a script similar to the one provided by Oracle
"consolidator_install.bat" to initialize connection and to run
SQL script to fill the table NAMES.
V-Problem
First I start http.bat and mgp.bat.
After connecting my Palm with Network preferences menu in TCP/IP mode.
I start ConsolidatorClient on the Palm side with the correct IP adress.
I did not manage to have a correct SyncProgress at the end of the
composing part. I receive a "reader/writer error" and a sync failed.

Oracle 9i Lite and Satellite Forms on the Palm
I would like to use Oracle 9i Lite 5.0.1with Satellite Forms EE 4.1 on the Palm
The docmentation from each company refers to the other company's documentation and no instructions seem to
exist. I am begining to suspect that to abilty to use Satellite Forms and Oracle Lite on the Palm does not actually
exist and that one must develop applications in C using Code Warrior or other tools.
I would like to use a Satellite Forms application on the Palm running with the RDK to access and store tables
stored in an Oracle Lite database on the Palm. I would then use the MSYNC to move data from the palm to
my Oracle 8.1.7 database server
Satellite Forms appears to store each of its tables as a separate pdb but oracle uses a single pdb for a database
containing multiple tables. There is a check box for Oracle compatible tables but not method to associate
satellite forms tables with an Oracle Lite database except for a link to an ODBC database. The Oracle ODBC drivers
point either to the Oracle database server or to an Oracle Lite database on a PC but not on a Palm.
I can move Satelittle Forms tables from the Palm to Oracle 8.1.7 using ODBC on the PC when I do a Palm Hot Sync
using the Satellite Form conduit
I can move Oracle tables from the Palm to 8.1.7 using MSYNC, the Oracle Mobile Server, and the Oracle Lite
http conduit
I do not know how to move Satellite Forms tables on the Palm to Oracle Lite tables on the Palm.
The only way to use Satellite Forms appears to be to move Satellite Forms tables on the Palm to Oracle Lite tables
on the PC and then use Oracle Lite Msync on the PC to move the data to the Oracle server. This seems to have no
advantage over going from Satellite Forms directly to the Oracle Server via ODBC
Does anyone have any additional information about current or future capabilities. There may have been something that
worked with older versions of Oracle 8iLite 4.0 and Satellite Forms 3.5, but I do not see anything that works nowAccording to Metalink Note:207303.1 - Client / Server / Interoperability Support Between Different Oracle Versions you shouldn't have problems, as long as your 9i Clients are at least 9.2.0.4.

PL/SQL and Forms executable in Oracle 8i Lite ?
I've got 2 basic and important questions:
1.) Is it possible to store procedures with PL/SQL in a Oracle 8i Lite Database(Operating System Windows 2000)
2.) Are the normal Forms 6i - Applications executable on a Oracle 8i Lite Database.
(Operating System Windows 2000)
Regards
SteffenRegardless of which path you want to take, in order to get the OCP certification in either the DBA or PL/SQL developer track, you must first obtain the respective OCA certification for that track. I'm assuming that since you are still undecided in which path to take that you haven't started working on either yet. If you look at the pages for the OCA DBA and OCA PL/SQL Developer certs and what is required for each, you'll see that the first block of tests for either certification (the SQL based exams) has the same options (1Z0-007, 1Z0-047, 1Z0-051) and passing one of those SQL based exams gives credit towards obtaining both OCA certifications. That might be a good place to start.
Doing one of these tests first might give you some extra time to decide which track you want to pursue. But as Justin said, it really depends on what you do (or plan on doing) in your career as to which path might be more beneficial for you.
As for the OCM level stuff, I wouldn't even think about it until you get the OCP. One step at a time... Same with OCP before OCA. That being said, my suggestions are just that, suggestions. You're free to take any exams/courses in any order, but you won't be able to obtain the certs until you have completed the requirements for each. -
Oracle 8i Lite Synchronizatoin Problem--Very Crucial and Urgent
Currently,we are using Oracle 8i lite Version Release 4.0.1 in
our project.
Following is the problem we are facing during Web-To-Go
Synchronization.
We have published about 200 snapshots of tables on the Web-to-go
server.
After Installing the Web-to-Go Client,
the first time we went Offline, both the webtogo.odb and the
user odb got downloaded to the client's machine.
the size of user odb was about 10.7 MB containing 200
snapshots, without any data and the application about 15 MB.
We checked up the odb using plus80 and verified that all the
tables have been created(200 snapshots+200 snapshot logs).
Once we went Online , a memory/application error (illegal
operation, unable to access memory) was displayed. The m1 file
also remained in the client's machine.
Basically the synchronization fails from client to server.
Everytime the synchronization is fine,if the odb needs to be
created freshly, but once created and synchronized, the same error
is displayed.
We tried publishing with a reduced no of tables, and it went on
fine with both offline and online up to a size 8.28MB,with
about 152 tables.
An increase of even 10 KB by an addition of 2 more tables, gives
out the same error.
The limit on the no of snapshots is specified as 256 per refresh
group.
We are using only 200 as of now and that should be ok.
Please let us know the possible reasons for such kind of a
problem.
Let us know in case of any other clarification regarding the
problem.
Is there any limitation or requirement at the client site,w.rt
memory?
Pls Help

Oracle forms & reports support on oracle 10g lite
Currently our oracle forms & reports 6i application works on oracle 8i database with oracle 9i lite.
We upgraded our database to oracle 9i r2 and lite to 10gr2.
After publishing the application when i try to open the application the forms screen disappears for ever.
I wanted to know whether oracle forms and reports 6i is supported on
oracle 10g lite r2?
Thanks,
Ashok Kumar.GNo. Not only it isn't certified, but it is also impossible to run forms compiled with the 11g compiler with the 10g runtime. For 11g there is a install bundle for the developer suite / application server.

Oracle 9i Lite Installation Problems
Hello, I'm installing Oracle 9i Lite Version over Windows XP. When I'm connecting the mobile server (like an apache server's module) to the repository, I write in my browser:
and the response of the browser is: "The requested URL was not found on this server". Someone knows, what's the problem?. What's the mobile server name and its port number?.
Thank you.Jorge,
You can check the tnsnames.ora file for the Mobile Server name and port number. Once you find the correct server and port information, please point your browser to:
http://<Mobile Server>:<port>/webtogo
for the Web-to-Go home or
http://<Mobile Server>:<port>/webtogo/setup
for the client download page.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Problem connecting Oracle 9i Lite to Oracle 9i Database
Hi,
I have just started working with Oracle 9i Lite and I am having
problems connecting to an Oracle 9i (9.0.1) database using the
packaging wizard. I can connect ok using SQL*Plus but when I connect
using this wizard the database is located i.e. no errors arise, but
the database schemas and tables are not found i.e. list is not
popluated.
However if I try to connect to an Oracle 8i (8.1.7) database there is
no problem and the schemas and tables are found with the list being
popluated.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Regards
Andrew.I am having a similar problem, where I couldn't connect to Oracle 8i database (817). I am getting a error message when I tried to use Packaging Wizard -> Snapshot -> Import -> Username/password and jdbc:oracle:oci8:@connect string or jdbc:oracle:thin:@host:1521:Sid
The error message is 'No Suitable Driver. Make Sure the Proper JDBC drive for "jdbc:oracle:oci8i:@<connect string>" is in the classpath"
I would appricated if someone can send me any help on this.
My email address is [email protected]
Thanks

JDeveloper - Oracle 8i Lite Connection Problem
I am trying to connect to Oracle 8i Lite database on my local machine (NT as the OS) from JDeveloper 3.1.1.2, I am getting "Network adapter could not establish connection" error. I can not even do Net8 Easy Config as I have no idea what the SID name is as 8i Lite installation did not ask for any SID name and it just created the polite databse (which works fine from ODBC).
What is the default SID name for 8i Lite ?
How to fix this probelm. Any help is greatly appreciated. VR.There is some more work you need to do to make JDeveloper work with Oracle Lite. Details are in an earlier response to a similar problem:
