Form caption in Hindi

I want to show a form caption in Hindi.How do i set the encoding?

Hello Orient,
I may be wrong, but I think there is one.
I have never worked with Arabic characters, so I cannot help you
specifically, but the general procedure is always the same: Find
out the numeric value of each character in the "alphabet" used by
your database. Look at the corresponding unicode value of each
character. If the character sequence (the arrangement within the
alphabet) is the same for both, you only have to add the difference
to each of your original characters. If the sequence is not the same
you have to map each or your database characters to its corresponding
unicode value. This could be done e.g. in a two-dimensional array.

The issue is its a language problem, I have not passed the LANGUAGE in /1bcdwb/docparams

Printing in Hindi on SAP Form

Hi Guru's,
I have requirement to print some hindi text in SAP Form , please advise how to do that. I have gone through several posts which were posted for the same requirement but somehow don't see any concrete solution on it.
As hindi language is not available in SAP, Is it possible to print in Hindi on SAP Forms by uploading hindi fornt !! I need to print both variable and constant values.
Please advise.

- To store data into database also in hindi

Oracle METALINK is a good source of information. E.g. Note 260717.1 says:
1. Forms 9i should be on Patch 3 and Java Plugin (JPI) should be 1.4.1.x.
You would need to install the Java Plugin 1.4.1_x which can be downloaded from the Sun Java web site.
2. Install MANGAL.TTF. This is the font picked up by JPI in font.properties.hi.
3. Get IndicIM.jar from http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/InputMethod/inputmethod. html#Installing_Java_input_method
and put it in C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.1\lib\ext ( or wherever you have installed it)
4. Set the regonal settings so that you may choose Hindi as your user locale.
5. Set the NLS_LANG in default.env to AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8
6. To know how to switch the keybord and keyboard mapping refer

7. Set the NLS_LANG to AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8 in the environment\registry so that the Forms Builder can also display the prompts etc. in the Mangal font.
8. Create a form with the required items having the font set to Mangal.
9. If you are retrieving and storing hindi data in the database, set the database character set to something like UTF8 too.
10. Save, compile and run the form using JPI.

Hindi Smartform Printing issue

Hi Ppl,
I have made a smartform , got converted into Hindi(se63) . Now the smartform is coming in hindi , however the printout and the PDF are not coming properly . It is displaying #######. Please help in resolving the issue .

SAP note 757130 says that SCR/SF forms printing with Hindi is not (yet) supported, only ABAP list printing (with an updated SWINCF, see corresponding notes):
Please notice that only the print of ABAP lists work correctly with the new
device types. The print of Sapscript forms and Smart Forms and the PDF
conversion are not supported yet.

Problem in Smartform

Hi,
I have created a simple smart form.
what it does is, it prints the material document number.
when im trying to see the preview of the smart form, it is showing &w_mkpf-mblnr& , but not the value of it.
When i tried to debug it, i found out that , in the table STXFTXT the value of TDLINE is "<(>&<)>w_mkpf-mblnr<(>&<)>" . But it actually should be "&w_mkpf-mblnr&" .
Can anyone tell me what the actual problem is and the solution of it.

Hi,
To display the value of variable it must be added in correct way. It means the variable should be added to the text object of the form with help of drag&drop or manually with help of icon "+" - Insert field. After insertion the variable should be gray colored in editor..
May be this is the point????

Add Folder to Library - No dialog box to select folder

Hi,
I wanted to designate a specific folder as the folder where iTunes / my iPhone should import music from. I want to limit iTunes to a specific folder as do not want comingle my Zune data as I have 100 gig of music which will not fit on my 32G 3GS.
When I click on File-->Add Folder To Library, I don’t get the expected dialog from where I can select the folder.
I can see from iTunes that its windows dims, meaning that another dialog has the focus however I cannot see this dialog window.
When I click on iTunes at this time, I get a beep and Browse For Folder outline / dialog flashes on the screen, but it is blank and I can just see the form caption in the top left.
Hitting ESC returns me to iTunes.
I am however able to do a file selection File-->Add File To Library without any problems.
Seems iTunes is a little buggy.
Any suggestions?

Here is maybe another clue.
Whenever any dialog message pops up (got a warning that some .MOV file would not be copied for some reason or another) I hit alt tab and changed to another applications. When I returned to iTunes the dialog had disappeared.
Again, the focus is not on the main iTunes application window and I can not interact with iTunes. Once I hit escape (which dismisses the dialog) control returns to the iTunes application and I can use it again.
Just to test, I changed my screen res to 1024 x 768 (I normally run 1920 x 1080) to see if iTunes dislikes my resolution. Same problems....
Any help much appreciated as I would like to get some music on my iPhone 3GS.

SAPScript in different language

Hi Everybody,
Requirement is to prepare a SAPScript Form which prints text in hindi (India's National Language). Could anyone suggest ideas besides of using image for the purpose???
As such it can be directly implement this using images. But there are problem associated with this approach. Valuable suggestions are requested.

Rather I have tried out something. Can you please guide further in this regard.
My Concept :-
    1. Load the font to R/3.
    2. Access the font in Form or Standard Text.
My Developments :-
    1. Using SE73 I uploaded the font to R/3.
    2. Using Form (Paragraph with hindi font) I tried to print.
My Results :-
    1. Form prints only in English.
My Analysis :-
    1. The form had language 'EN'. The environment is not there to run form in 'hindi'.
My Doubts :-
    1. Can form can pick up font at runtime presentation server. If that can happens then the form will pick up hindi font installed on PC.
Any suggestions.

Language dependent Add-On

Is there anyone who can tell me how I can resolve/include multi language feature in my Add-on solution.
How do the professional do it. Like ScreenPainter from SAP - which have only few add-on files.
We think about different solutions:
Save different *.srf - userform with various language and load the different form through XML.
Happy to hear from anyone who have any tip (maybe small code example) on how we best can do this.

As Sebastian earlier said - all language dependent can stored within the form (captions etc).
I assume you mean other constants (listbox/combobox values) that are hardcoded - can be placed in either ini or userdef. table.
Please explain if my assumtion on 2. and 3. is correct or tell me if i am missing out some points.

10G application is not running

Hi,
when I design the form in 10g and try to run on browser IE8, it is not responding. only Oracle Forms caption is display on browser.
Software/Hardware used :

If you dont want to change from jnitiator to jre..
Try downloading latest version of jvm.dll file specially for "windows 7",it will a file above 2.2mb-3 mb
N then replace the jvm.dll from the location
C:\Program Files\Oracle\JInitiator 1.3.1.22\bin\hotspot

Now check whether the pop blocker is set off and even enable all active X components in your IE browers
3rd At client user PC login through Admin
Then try to access application url,when the jnitiator options pops up,click grant always.You need to login through admin because whenever jnitiator loads the 1st time it requires admin rights of the computer.

How can i have the captions in Spanish on the form, even though user is English user?

Hello Experts,
My requirement is,
I am launching the form back end ERP system's app, where in i have screen, wherein user will enter the employee # on the first/home screen's input field then as a next step the form will be launched on the IE browser together with the employee details. Now user has a chance to change the details on the form.
Initially the user logs into the system and gets into the intranet, by this moment system knows about the user's logged in languge because we are maintaiing the user/employee master records in the system
Now, say for example User_1 has English as logged in langauge, and user also want to see the form's labels/captions in ENGLISH when the form is rendered on the IE browser
Now, say for example User_2 has English as logged in langauge, but user want to see the form's labels/captions in SPANISH when the form is rendered on the IE browser, pls. let me know how to achieve this?
But, the form is only one (bcz of licensing company bought only one form)

Printing HINDI Language is possible in Offline Interactive Adobe forms

Hi All,
Actually I am working on Offline Interactive Adobe forms.So my requirement is print the offline adobe forms in HINDI language.
That form will goes to the user through email with some HINDI text, headings and fields names. After that user can edit and enter some HINDI text in the PDF form.
My question is it is possible to design the layout in HINDI language , If possible what are the things installed in Server side.
After pdf goes to the user how the user will enter the data in HINDI language using keyboard.
Your help will be appreciated.

You have to install the font

Print adobe form in local language (Hindi)
Make sure the two things available:
1. Embed fonts option enabled.
This option is available in Designer->File->Form Properties->Save Options panel
Important: This will work only for PDF files (not for XDP)
2. Adobe Reader Extended Languages support font pack installed on the target machine the Hindi font is not installed.

How to input hindi language in oracle forms 9i

I have a requirement that forms input as well as all labels should be in Hindi language.I am able to do the same for ARABIC language but Its not working for Hindi. It showing ????? character while trying to input.
Please suggest me for the same.

Hind,Punjabi font implimentation in Form bUilder and webform
We are trying to impliment multilingual application.We want that the AS
should be able to pick the multi session's .We have already done the settings as sujested by the metalink.
It is working properly for American,Thai,French Languages..
But we also want the Hindi,Punjabi support also.
The first problem we facing is that the Mangal.ttf Font is not being recognised by the hindi locale nor the Raavi.ttf or Amrlipi(Western).ttf
are not picked up by the Punjabi locale i.e they are displayed as junk characters '??????'
I have made the Hindi.env file with NLS_LANG = HINDI_INDIA.UTF8
and pnjabi.env file with NLS_LANG = PUNJABI_INDIA.UTF8
and also in teh Formsweb.cfg file i have made teh changes as
[Hindi]
envFile = Hindi.env
[Punjabi]
envFile = Punjabi.env
Kindly help its very Urgent.The TAR advice to do the OWC
but its not avaiable at our place .So kindly help

Passing multiple parameters (caption and textbox) to another form failing to pick up Caption

I have an Microsoft Access application that is more like a form than a database. Users complete the form and then submit it to us for review. There are many questions and memo fields on the different forms (sections). Some of the memo forms are small due
to the limitation of the size of the form (22 inches) therefore there is a lot of scrolling. I want to include a button on each question so that when users click on it will display a form where I pass the label caption (question) and the answer to this form.
Alternatively I can have a expanded form for each question but that would require over 50 forms. The Application is quite large. I wanted to have one form and just call the different questions/answers.
The below is working for the text box (AnswerTxt). However the CaptionTxt is not holding it's value when it gets to the new form. It's only displaying the name of the variable name, CaptionTxt
On the form where the data resides I have:

It will, because you are passing it as a literal string with:
DoCmd.OpenForm "Form1", OpenArgs:="CaptionTxt|" & AnswerTxt
In this "CaptionTxt|" is a literal string, whereas AnswerTxt references the variable. It should be:
DoCmd.OpenForm "Form1", OpenArgs:=CaptionTxt & "|" & AnswerTxt
