Form Crashes when error occured !!!

Hi All ,
we have an Application Developed on 10g iDS , and Deplyed on Linux suse , but a Strange behavior is coming up ; when any form specific error occured on the form such as (Can't insert null , not allowed value for list item ...) the Forms Services Crashs given the famous Java error .. does any one facing this too , how to solve it ? is there a patch or something , please advise , thanks

Yea well, unless you work hard and long enough to be able to fix everything...
Because I don't think that importing tables from other documents is the best tool on LiveCycle... even exporting data from PDF to Excel Spreadsheet...
Is the table you trying to import is complex or simple?

Sharepoint 2010, InfoPath 2010 with Custom Workflow. Error Message: InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occured while form was submitted...

I have created an InfoPath form that submits to a Sharepoint library with custom workflow attached. The workflow is initiated when the user submits the form. An email is sent to the supervisor who clicks the "Encoded Absolute URL" and approved
the form via the emailed form. Then, based on certain criteria the form is either emailed to the VP or the workflow is complete. The VP is sent an email and clicks the "Encoded Absolute URL" and sumbits the form via the emailed form. This is
how I would like it to work. The reality is, the form submits and is emailed to the supervisor and the supervisor is able to approve but when the form is sumbitted I get an error. The error is "InfoPath cannot submit the form. An error occured while
this form was being submitted. The form cannot be submitted to the following location: <URL> The file <URL> is checked out for editing by <me> The operation completed successfully." The operation did not complete successfully and it
is not checked out. I have read in previous posts that the file is locked. Since I am in the testing faze of the project there is no one else using the form. I have waited 24 hours and the lock has not been released. Please help!!! My deadline is growing short.

I ran into your post while having a similar issue. I don't have a 'full' fix for you, but I noticed at least in our case if you made sure you opened the Infopath form through the browser instead of the client Infopath program (use the drop-down menu
and open in browser) the error doesn't occur. Hope that helps some....

Project View does not show the Path and Filename when errors occur

I have the problem, that errors occur in the project but in the colum that shows the "Resource" I can only see the "Project Name". Normally it should show the filename. The "Path Column" is completely empty. The "Location column" shows the correct line number in the file (but unfortunately I have no Idea which file). Double clicking on the row does not do anything.
I'm sure it had worked, but no idea since when this problem occurs. I am using Flash Builder 4.7.

I was able to resolve this by repairing permissions, even though no permissions error was listed specifically for that file.
I could also have recovered it through Time Machine, but I'm interested in knowing how not to have this happen again!
I was afraid of rebooting and possibly losing track even of the ghost.
I did not try EasyFind - I'll keep that in mind next time.

My problem is regarding the called_form built-in function of Oracle forms.
I am calling call_form within a loop.
call_form('schdule_task');
In first iteration it opens the called form and when the user clicks on exit button it comes back to the calling form and starts next iteration.But in next iteration the called form comes up and crashes immediately, causing the application to crash.
The calling form does not get a chance to become visible because by default call_form executes with 'HIDE'(hide the calling form) option.
Now if I execute the above mentioned call_form statement with "NO_HIDE" option then the called form does not crash in any of the iteration and the loop runs fine till the end.

What can be the problem? Is it related to call_form call or something else?

Infopath form crashes when selecting second lookup field

I suffer from a strange behaviour in sharepoint 2010. I created an infopath form, which (besides lots of other fields) includes two lookup fields (1 and 2) which points to the same data list. Moreover there's a third lookup field (field 3) which also points
to that data and is meant to be the filter for cascading dropdown. When I select a value from field 3, the data in field 1 and 2 is filtered according to the selected value. When I select a value in field 1 everything is allright. Then the selected entry from
field 2 is removed from data of field 3 using data filter. When I select a value from field 3 the form crashes (which means the rendering crashes). All fields disappear and oly the red stars of required fields are shown. When I click the cancel button, all
fields appear again ald the value is selected. Also when I move around the form panel, the fields are shown again. This problem only appears in IE. When I tried this in Google Chrome, everything works just fine. Also in the InfoPath preview it works. I am
using IE 11.

Hi Magnus,
As this issue only appears in IE, it seems to be a client issue.
In general, for this issue, we do that:
Add the site into IE Trusted Sites.
Add the site into Compatibility View.
Whether you try to use IE 10 mode in IE 11. If not, pelase have a try.
Please test on other machines, compare the result.
Please use IE 10 to test, compare the result.

Lost all notes when error occurred while updating

I was updating my ipad to IOS 5 when an error occurred.
I was able to restart the update and complete it, but I lost all of my notes and contacts!!!

You’re having two problems there, I think. One is with the disk. You’re not going anywhere with the other until you can get that to mount.
Assuming you can, it sounds like the database has been damaged:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

Forms crash when open in browser.

hi,
i'm migrating from 10g to 11g. So basically what i did is recompile the .fmb to work on 11g. It was successfully recompiled without any errors.
however when i open it in web, it crashes :

i have compiled and log shows no error. This happens when the fmx needs library files to open.but those .pll files are also recompiled without error.
what could be the possible problem?
Do i might need to install any patch? Right now im using forms version 11.1.2.0.0
im using windows 7 Professional 32bit.

I would recommend that you consider installing the latest db bundle patch into the FMw Oracle Home. For Windows 32bit, That would be patch ID 14109867 This patch is for Windows 32bit only.
As always, it's a good idea to backup the home where the patch is being installed and the Oracle Inventory. This will allow you to easily revert back in the event of problems during or after the patch installation.

Oracle 11i forms crash when run on Windows 7 using IE 8 or IE 9

I am trying to run oracle apps form on my windows 7 pc using ie 8 or ie 9. But the browser crashes whenever I try to open the form. I am using Oracle EBS version 11.5 and Jinitiator version 1.3.1.18. I tried replacing the jvm.dll file in Jinitiator with that of my JRE 1.6 update 27 but it did not work.

Html:text converting the chinnes letters to unicode when error occurs .....

Here i have a small query that goes like this
Iam converting a web page from english version to chinees version
This is a struts application
In one jsp page i have 2 text fileds like name and descrption
Here iam entering chinees charaters into these text boxes(these text boxes are <html:text>)
when both are filled and submit the form it is working fine.if
i missed one field... the validation.xml file will catching this and displaying the error mesage in the corresponding jsp page. At this time the values which are enter in this text fileds are converting to unicode so this is my problem i don't want to happen like this. so please can you help me to come out this problem ....this is some urget for me..

change the html:text to plain html text (i.e <input type="text">)
the code in jsp page like this

Forms crash when trying to view a .bmp.

I have 2 .bmp file uploaded to our database as a blob
looking at the 2 files they are identical size, pixel, dpi etc.
Yet in my system when trying to view the image through forms it one crashes the system and the other displays fine.
I know it will relate to the image itself as if i resave as a .jpg it works fine.
But i wondered if there was anyway to work out which aspect of the bmp it was failing on.
I have tried this in XP, Vista, Win 7. various IE versions all resulting in same behaviour.
I also tried an old legacy forms system we had running forms 9i on oracle 9i database and the column LONG RAW and this exhibits the same behaviour. i.e. displays one but crashes on other.
So i know its not a user OS issue nor a Oracle version issue. But we run 10.1.2.3 app server and 10.2.0.5.0 database for record.
I downloaded G.I.M.P image manipulater and no properties on the 2 .bmps are different.

Yes this will work but my customer wants an explanation as to why some will work and some will not. They have thousands of bmps they dont want to amend all another format.
I can not find any oracle documentation re the correct bmp format that is supported.

Prevent navigation when error occurs

I have a use case where an error may occur during the INVOKE_APPLICATION phase. If it does, I need to stay on the same page and show the user the error. I am using a PhaseListener to detect the error (in the afterPhase of the INVOKE_APPLICATION phase). If there is an error, I show it to the user by calling FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addMessage(null, errorMessage);. This works. The problem is, it continues navigation to the next view. For example, if the user clicked the Save button and that button returns to the previous page, I want the user to stay on this page if there is an error. I tried calling FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().renderResponse() to bypass the navigation, but that didn't work. Then I tried calling FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().responseComplete();. This did bypass navigation, but the error didn't show up for the user to see.
This seems like a common use case, so I must be missing some obvious way to do this.

It was moved to the Servers' General Discussion forum because it seems the issue was experienced on a Sun-branded blade system.
However it is an OS question, or perhaps a generic software question.
This thread has now been moved to the General Solaris forum, hopefully for closer topic alignment.
Response #1 is likely going to be the only appropriate answer.
If there is a core dump in the +/var/crash/<hostname>+ directory, then it's an OS issue.
If the core file(s) are elsewhere, then it's an application core and the provider of whatever that application might be will need to be consulted for support.

Forms 6i Crashes (Access_Violation Error)

I'm an Oracle DBA and have a team that they developed a
Client/Server application in Forms6i (Rel. 6.0.8.0.8) on Windows 2000 DataCenter/Adv server/Win 2k Pro, backend is Oracle DB 8i (or Oracle DB 9i no diffrence). We use 20-30 tables and 20 fmx files, 16 pll files. It doesn't have any errors. If we are playing around the application it crashes.else it runs fine, or if u make continious transactions in the application, it crashes in middle. It says it is a memory problem in a dump file.
how can i solve this. my application is constantly crashes. It is said that it is the main drawback of Developer6i (Du to oracle form 6i Memory Leak). So According to Oracle this BUG was fixed in Patch
7 or 9 or 10, but after installing it NOTHING HAPPPEND (It still dose that). I regenerated all Modules( From Designer 6i) and the recompiled all the the forms(From Developer 6i) and it didn't help. I'm facing a
major problem.

Could you specify 'some setting' more precisely? We have the same problem. I'm not able to run the Headstart-Demo application in C/S mode.

As you can see the error is always the same:

We encountered these problems a year ago and decided to postpone the migraton to 6i (yes, we are still using an earlier version!). Now I thought that after this long time the problem has been solved, but it seems to be alive and kicking. :((
