Hi All,
I am trying to recompile forms on RHL 3.0 developed on Win2K machines. It seems the compile utility is not being able to load jvm library. It gives following error.
----8<---------------
f90genm: error while loading shared libraries: libjvm.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
----8<---------------
I'm having 10gAS(904) on RHL and 9iDS (902) on Win2K. I'm not using GUI, since I'm working thru' telnet.
Can anyone throw some light on it?
Thanks and regards,
Kinjal SonpalHi All,
I could find a workaround by using the GUI and recompiling is done properly. However, it still does not solve the original problem that I had. I'll be posting that again in a separate post.

How to install downloaded Oracle Forms Developer/Services 6i Release 2 for linux
Hi folks,
I downloaded d2k6irelease2.tar (Oracle Forms Developer/Services 6i Release
2 for linux) from
http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/forms/htdocs/linuxsoft.html
I untar the file on my linux machine however the extracted files don't
seem to contain any installing program. I didn't find products.jar in the
files and there are no script to install the software. I read the attached
doc, however it only assumes that the installation is from CD-ROM. The doc
doesn't help anything for this downloaded software. I wonder if anyone
here know how to install it. Thank you so much.
Best regards,
Kai HuangThere should be a text based installer in the /orainst sub-
directory
In that directory, just run the script:
./orainst
The installer seems to require libXm.a, which wasn't included in
my RH 7.1 installation, so I had to install the motif-
development libraries before the full install would complete
successfully. -

nullHi,
Yes, that's part of the way to do it.
After uploading the binary file (.FMB) which is platform independent, you have to generate the (.FMX) in Linux, as the .FMX are platform specific. -

Is there a place where I can find the forms6i patches for Linux?
I found patch1 on metalink, but nothing more recent.
I searched oracle-ftp.oracle.com/dev_tools/patchsets/dev2k, but did not see any linux-related directory there. I see that patch4 is available other platforms like Solaris and NT (available through ftp, but not metalink?).
Is it just that the patches for Linux are not completed, or is it that I just don't know where to look?

FormsCentral PDFs not working for Linux and Unix users
I recently created a PDF (using Indesign > Acrobat IX Pro > Formscentral [AFC]) that includes radio buttons, form fields, linked videos set to play in the PDF once clicked and (after running through AFC) a submit button.
The form has been distributed and we have already had hundreds of successful responses collected in the AFC site, all is working well there.
One major problem we are having is that we have a lot of Linux/Unix users and the response from them is that they can't activate the videos, the form fields are out of kilter alignmentwise and the submit button does not work. Even when using the proper Adobe Acrobat Reader (v9, for example).
Is the Adobe development team aware of problems such as these for Linux/Unix platforms and is there a suggested fix that they know of?
The link to the actual file is here: http://cms.iopscience.iop.org/alfresco/d/d/workspace/SpacesStore/b5a48eac-8642-11e2-8cf8-e 50acbc9fd86/NJP-Video-Abstracts-Competition-2013.pdf
Thanks in advanceHi Jesse,
can you email me ([email protected]) the original PDF (before you imported it in FormsCentral)? Also, I'm curious about the format of the video in the PDF. Does the video in the PDF worked in Linux/Unix before going through the FormsCentral import/export?
When I look at your PDF on my Red Hat Entrprise Linux 6.0 system with Reader 9.5.4 it does look fine (location of the fields) but the video generate an error (which I'm still investigating). I have not yet try the submit button on your form (as I don't want to submit bad data to you) but I seem to have an issue with the submit button on other PDF forms I generated (when I try to submit from a linux machine). Still investigating that as well.

Compilation error while generating the form in linux
Hello everyone,
I am using Oracle Designer ver10.1.2.4 in windows to generate the forms with standard object library ofgwebol.olb and template form ofgwebt.fmb. form (with both .fmb and .fmx files) are generated without errors. Also when I open the forms in separately they compiles without errors. But when I copy the same .fmb file into linux enviroment and compile it using frmcmp.sh userid=user/password@database module_type=form compile_all=yes module=form_name it gives following errors.

Form not created
I think some standard library are missing in Linux environment. But I do not know the name of them and neither I can find. Please suggest the what need to be done to resolve the problem. The reason I am compiling the form in Linux is that I can run the form in windows because of corrupted installation of OC4j.
Thanking you all much in advance.

When generating forms from Designer, Designer attaches libraries - like ofgmes.pll, ofgnavl.pll, etc. You will need to copy these libraries to the same directory where your forms reside on your Linux box. To find out what libraries ate attached to your form, open it on your windows PC after generating it from Designer and you will see the attached libraries. Also, watch out for the case-sensitivity of Linux. If you have the Designer libraries on your linux box and you still get errors, try changing the case of the names of the libraries.
Hope this helps,

Hi All,

Hi ,
Given link is good and I can understand the architecture that it will be 3 tier--DB server-Application Server and Web Browser where Developer will access forms.
I would appreciate if you can provide some screen shots for the configuration details and files to be modified for the port and deploying the forms.
Whether we need to install apache, http or oracle application suite for the linux will take care?
Is there any pre-requisite health checktool like RDA.sh for the rdbms? Please let me know what are the important configuration file.
What is identity management in this?
Thanks.

Load panel tui file not working on CVI2012 for Linux
We are having problems with panels that look fine on Windows being difficult to read on Linux, presumably because most control and text fonts are VAL_DIALOG_META_FONT on Windows but the CVI for Linux run-time only has NISYSTEM.
As a quick way to test different fonts on Linux I created a tui file from the uir file and then used global search and replace to change VAL_DIALOG_META_FONT to something that would hopefully look decent on Linux.
Problem is that LoadPanel(0,"filename.tui",1) works on WIndows but throws error -46 on Linux.
Whereas LoadPanel,0,"filename.uir,PANEL) works fine on Linux & Windows but the fonts are very hard to read on Linux.
Is there a table somewhere mapping the VAL_FONT attribute magic numbers to corresponding fonts on Windows and Linux?
It'd be nice to have some guidance on the default font mappings. But at the end of the day, I don't really care much about fonts unless the defaults are hard to read.
I guess one other potential complication is the UIR file originally came from CVI 8.5, but CVI 2010 for Windows didn't say anything about needing to "convert" it. Perhaps one of the attributes in the tui file is not valid on Linux, but is on Windows?
Solved!
Go to Solution.Loading TUI files in Linux it's an issue that we have recently discovered and it did not made it yet to the known issue list. I'm not 100% sure but I believe a workaround to that problem would be to go and manually edit that tui file and remove those attributes that generates errors. You can begin with ATTR_TITLEBAR_STYLE and then look if one of the following are in the tui file: ATTR_DS_BIND_PLOT_STYLE, ATTR_DS_BIND_POINT_STYLE, ATTR_DS_BIND_LINE_STYLE, ATTR_DS_BIND_PLOT_COLOR and delete them. Then try to load the tui file again.
On the other hand I think there is a workaround for your original problem: the predefined fonts (VAL_DIALOG_METAFONT) looks bad on Linux. I believe there is a way a user can change the underlying font and the size of a predefined font. In windows you can change it in the registry but in Linux you can define an environment variable: XAPPLRESDIR that points to a directory that should contain a file named cvi, a file where you can write font settings. Each line has to be of the following format: <appName>.<key>:<value>. If you want the settings you're writing to be persistent for all applications the put a "*"instead of the application name.
The list of possible key is: appFont (NIAppMetaFont), menuFont (NIMenuMetaFont), dialogFont (NIDialogMetaFont), editorFont (NIEditorMetaFont), messageBoxFont (NIMessageBoxMetaFont).
The value have to be of the following form: <font family>-<font name>-<font size>
Here is the only line I have in the cvi file: *.dialogFont : adobe-helvetica-19 -
Hi All,
During installation - Oracle Database Configuration Assistance, I have got below error and thus I stuck. As per Metalink note 293988.1, this will be resolved if I do [root@localhos]# echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/disable_cap_mlock . But problem is when I do this because I dont have /proc/sys/vm/disable_cap_mlock file in my system, it giving ¨bash: /proc/sys/vm/disable_cap_mlock: No such file or directory¨ error. So I am unable to get rid of this error. I also set SELinux Default and Current mode as permissible and rebooted it.
No use, Its giving same error.

Regards,
MahiFrom what I can gather form your post, the ORA-27125: Unable to create shared memory segment is probably the result of:
a) not enough physical memory available.
b) /dev/shm not configured properly.
c) kernel parameters are not set according to Oracle requirements.
Since this is happening during the installation of Oracle I suggest to check the SHMMAX kernel parameter. This is all mentioned in the pre-installation steps. Oracle 11g will actually check these kernel parameters prior to installing. Not sure about 10g now, which you are trying to install.
The most common, easiest way to prepare the system for Oracle RDBMS is to install the "oracle-validated" package. If you don't have access to ULN, you can setup public yum.
http://public-yum.oracle.com/ Then you can simply type as the root user: yum install oracle-validated

If I were to speculate about why they don't want us speculating, it's probably because, among other things, it would just end up encouraging a lot of semi-informed opinions (i.e. speculation).

Oracle 9i AS 1.0.2.2.2 for Linux - Installation Media?
Hi all,
I am trying to locate a copy of the Oracle 9i Application Server version 1.0.2.2.2 installation media for Linux. I appreciate that it’s an ancient version but we still use 6i forms and the version of the installation media I have is corrupt and I need to do a fresh install.
I’ve tried the obvious places like Metalink / Oracle eDelivery etc to try and download a copy but it’s obviously too old to be available on there. Is there anywhere else I can source it - for example does anyone know if it is part of another Oracle suite e.g. 11i?
Many ThanksOracle's Software Delivery Cloud as well as OTN tend to provide versions for which error correction support is still offerend. As error correction support is not offered for the AS 1.0.2.2.2 version anymore, it is not available through these channels anymore.
You can request a physical media shipment from Oracle, check My Oracle Support document [url https://support.us.oracle.com/oip/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=1071023.1]1071023.1, "How to Request Physical Shipment or FTP download of Software Media" for details.
