Hi There.
Please help.
I created a form with some required field. when required field is not completed anywhere in form, how do make the mouse pointer to jump to that empty field automatically?

Basic form help needed

I am new to Dreamweaver 8 (but have worked with simple html a
quite a bit) and am working on building a, hopefully, simple
prototype for a project. What I need to do is collect user-entered
text and user-selected dropdown box data on one page and send it to
another for presentation there. After looking at the Help screens,
I looked at using Session variables and it seems that is the best
way to pass the data. Where I am stuck is in the (from Help
Contents) Making Pages Dynamic - Creating Forms - Creating HTML
forms help. They first say to, in step 2, Select Insert > Form
(which doesn't do anything - you have to click another option,
which I figured meant Form again). Then, in step 3, they say to
"Specify the page or script that will process the form data." by
selecting the file in the Action box in Properties. I don't have a
file to "process the form data" and don't really know what they are
talking about. Help!
I originally (before I reverted to using Help) set it up with
Insert->Form->Text Field text entry boxes, figuring this was
a Form field that could be captured and passed on. Right? Wrong? I
guess I thought the method would be to define a variable name
associated with a text input field in one page, then pass it with
the value to the next page. That is pretty much what it seems
Session variables do (?), which I discovered when I started looking
at Help.
So, was I on the right track for a simple implementation and
missed the way to capture and transmit the data, or do I need to
use the Forms->Forms option? If the former, how do I define the
variable names? If the later...well, I am real confused then. :-)

Session variables as the name suggests are created when a
user starts a session and last till the session is open. You form
doesn't really need session variables unless you are carrying form
data from one page to another and need to keep it associated with
that specific user such as in shopping cart applications.
I have never used the dreamweaver insert form, so can't help
you there. why not code the form yourself, especially since you
have been using html

Checkbox in tabular form - help needed

I'm trying to build a tabular form, with a checkbox for a field that can have value 'Y' or 'N'. Adding the checkbox is no problem, with the htmldb_item.checkbox API.
However, processing it is.
On this forum I found a way to process the checkboxes, by looping through all the records (with the help of htmldb_item.hidden in which the id is stored) and reading the value from the checkboxes and updating the column if the checkbox is checked. (see Re: Report with updateable checkbox)
however, as soon as I add a htmldb_item.hidden item, I receive the following error when I submit the tabular form to the Multi Row Update process:
"Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Error in MRU: row= 1, ORA-20001: ORA-20001: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. "
My query:
Select id
,htmldb_item.hidden(1,id)
,htmldb_item.checkbox(2,id, decode(field, 'Y', 'CHECKED', NULL))
from table
What am I doing wrong?
is there a better way to process a tabular form with checkboxes?
Or should I process all the rows manually by updating every record even if it hasn't changed (with a loop through all the records)?

Work Order Less Completion Form-Help

Hello Guys i have a question on WIP- Work Order Less Completion Form.
In the form when we enter the assemebly item and go to Components-->Lot/Serial, In Lot entry form there is a field called Lot number which has LOV and also allows user to enter his own Value what he needs.
My question is is there any controls in Oracle where we can prevent user from entering his value in the LOt number field,instead he has to select it from LOV only.
Please help me on this.

Urgent Form Help Needed

I am trying to fill out a pdf form created by the Government of Canada and when I enter text in to the one of the text fields it does not keep the text there the text field merges with the box above. The form is available here: http://www.international.gc.ca/development-developpement/assets/pdfs/partners-partenaires/ calls-appels/iyip-psij-form-2014-eng.pdf . The fields I am having the problem with is 1.1 Internship Details which when I put in the answer (1200 words) it half merges with the text box above 1.0 Rationale for Initiative.
I have downloaded a number of versions of the file (on a number of pcs) and they all have the same problem. There are problems downloading the form in Chrome and some of the other web browsers but the newest version of IE works. I need to know if I am doing something wrong or if there is a problem with the form itself. I'm using Adobe Reader XI to fill the form and it was created using LiveCycle Forms 9.0. The creator of the form is highly unlikely to offer any assistance unless I can prove the problem is on their end. This is an RFP due tomorrow and my job kinda depends on it. HELP!

I've downloaded the form and tried to fill it in myself. I'm able to paste in 700 words (just under 4000 characters) without issue, but anything above that produces the error that you describe. So, it seems to me that the form designer may have imposed a limit on how many characters can be entered into that form field.

Livecycle Designer Error- everytime I open FORMS-HELP!

Can someone help me please?!
I can't seem to find anyone that can.
I have CS3 and everytime I open forms this happens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it 4 different times-still continues...
I get this ERROR:

Can anyone who is having these issues send the crash dump to [email protected] and I will forward them to R&D for investigation.
Here are instructions on where and how to get the dump files.

Sometimes it is useful to capture an ad-hoc minidump file from FormDesigner when it crashes. Here are instructions for doing this on Vista, and XP.
On Vista 32 bit, wait for the app to crash, and while the "your app has crashed" dialog is still visible, go to Task Manager process list, right click on FormDesigner .exe, and select "Create Dump File' from the context menu. After the dump file is written, its location will be shown in a second dialog box. The "designer crashed" dialog can then be dismissed.
For Vista 64 bit, I think the dump files produced this way are probably not useful, because they will show stacks for the "64 bit side" of the 32 bit process, which is not what we want to look at. For Vista64, it is probably necessary to attach a real debugger to FormDesigner .exe and write a dump file.
On XP, if the default drwtsn32 post-mortem debugger is installed, the dump of the last crash is available at "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\user.dmp". If the user has installed a different post-mortem debugger (e.g. visual studio) or disabled things somehow, then an ad-hoc dump can be made by waiting for the "designer crashed" dialog, and leaving that open. Then go to task manager's process list and note the process ID of FormDesigner .exe. Then bring up a command prompt and type:
Drwtsn32 -p designer_PID
where designer_PID is the process ID of FormDesigner .exe found in task manager. After that, the "designer crashed" dialog can be closed, and the dump will be found in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\user.dmp".
Along with the crash dump file, you should provide the exact build number of the FormDesigner executable you are running (e.g. 8.2 is not sufficient.) You can find the build number by right clicking on FormDesigner .exe and looking at the "Details" tab. It's the "Product Version" entry.

Need Acrobat 9.0 Forms Help

installed acrobat 9.0 on an xp system. the install seems to have gone well but I am not able to complete any forms. Forms that we use often and complete fine on other machines will not allow any of the fillable forms to be filled. The typing tool does not work. I am desparate for answers.

I am not particularly trying to use a tool. I have 60 or so form we complete for clients in the office. On one machine the forms open fine but we are not able to complete the forms. I even tried to use the typewriter tool and a text box will open over the fillable form field but nothing is typed there. I have tried everything. it is happening on one machine. I even purchased a additional copy of acrobat thinking that would help the problem. I have forms that I fill on other systems in my office. I know they are forms and yet on one system I am unable to type in the form fields. There are a few check boxes and they will fill but he text fields will not. I have uninstalled acrobat 9.0, I have gone into the registry and deleted all referenced to adobe and still no success. I even tried calling adobe and still I am at a standstill. If you have an answer please let me know. I really need help with this one.

Form help with Dreamweaver

Hi there
I have a form on a webpage that I have altered that works
fine when submitted ..however there are 2 fields that don't show up
in the received email ..The boy/girl radio button selection and the
Related Radio button group (6 selections)
Can anyone help me solve this problem ..the setup is below

Wouldn't "gender" be a more appropriate usage than "sex". I
doubt that this
distinction is what is causing the problem, though! 8)

PHP form help - results not appearing in email

Hi I have set up a simple entry form, and I am submiting it
using PHP to my email address, It works well when you fill the form
in and send it, I receive the email however the email only displays
the questions and not the answers that have been filled in on the
form. Itss driving me crazy as top why this is not working. Can
someone please help?

I haven't checked the form, but I had a similar problem with
my server when they upgraded their systems recently. I would
receive the email, but it was blank.

The default php mail command works. Again - no
"register_globals".
A lot of old and lazy written scripts rely on it. But it is a

security risk - even more so on shared servers - and as such

Cascading LOV in a Tab Form Help

I've aquired an application that was written by someone else. I have a Tab Form that needs a Cascading LOV. There is code already in place, but I have questions about it that I'm hoping someone can help.
There's a LOV called Product Group that has an onChange in the Element Attributes:

The Add Row button is set to:

When I debug the javascript the variable v_new_list shows as false. I can also see that p_rownum variable in the javascript function contains 0. I don't know if that's correct.
Can someone help me with why this function does not return the values into the select list for the f04 item?
What other information can I provide?

Thank you for replying.
While debugging the javascript, I can see that gReturn does contain a string of the Platforms for that Product Group ID.
What I don't know if it's correct is the call to: v_new_list = html_GetElement('f04_'+ f_zero_pad(p_rownum,4));
When I view source I see that f04_0000 is the Platform select list item.

I still can see that v_new_list is undefined in the debugger. Any other ideas?

AS 2.0 form help

I have to re do a page inside a fla It is a contact page with
a forrn made of input text.
The form is a movieclip with 5 input txt fields, problem is
the only actionscript I see is on the submit button in the
movieclip

well not really - that's all you need on the AS side
(although it's much better 'not' to use on handlers, and the
LoadVars class instead of loadVariables - however i realize this is
a template so that's fine)
what you 'will' need though is a server-side php script, to
format, and send the email. I've written a few different variations
on the php here in the forums you may be able to use - some of them
have code posted, others have some example file DLs:

Forms Help for Multiple Use Forms

I need some help on a forms question. I have created several forms that I wanted to use in Adobe Pro for email based review. I have been using the base forms, adding the information (these are budget forms)then saving the forms with a different name. The problem I have just run into is that I have several of the forms under review. When I open the "template" form, it asks if I want to merge the comments. Can anyone help in directing me on how to save these forms so I can use them?

I believe the OP is talking about the "Merge Comments?" pop-up that i'm getting as well.
I can't figure out how to stop it from prompting people to do this... it's causing quite a lot of confusion!!
I attached a screen shot of it so we can get rid of any ambiguity =P

Seeking Pdf form help - javascript formula to auto-populate fields based on data from other fields.

Hi there, I am new to PDF form work, and am wondering if someone could help me with a javascript formula.
I want to auto-populate the EXPIRYDATE field, as the same date as the entered AUTHORIZATIONDATE field, but 4 years later.
So, I want to be able to enter 11/14/2014 in the AUTHORIZATIONDATE date, and have 11/14/2018 auto populate in the EXPIRYDATE field.
Seems simple I know, but I've messed around quite a bit and can't seem to make it work. Is this possible??

This can only be done with custom JavaScript programing.
The value of date type fields are text field and not numeric data. The first task is to convert the dates to a number on some type of number sequence that is a mapping to dates.
Have you looked at the Acrobat JavaScript API Reference, the MDN JavaScript reference?
I would use the Acrobat JavaScript util.scand to covert the date string to the number of milliseconds from January 1, 1970 midnight. and then use the getFullYear method of the date object for the year value and add 4 years to that value and then use the setFullYear method to set the year for the date object. Now you can use the util.printd method to format the date object as a date string with a specific format.

Acrobat Form Help

I have Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Professional and what I'm trying to do is create a pdf that has 2 pages which are identical, and I want the end user to fill in the boxes on the first page (like name, address etc) that would automatically fill in that information on the second page. Does anyone know if this is possible? And if so how I would go about doing it.
And if this is not possible does anyone know if I can set the pdf to automatically print 2 copies?

Create the form fields on the page. Then save a copy and merge the two into a single pdf. This should keep the form fields on both pages with the same name (you should received a warning stating so, click ok). This should make the 2nd page an exact copy and the forms fields on page one and page two will have the same name, which should accomplish what you are trying to do.

Php Form Help

I just developed a simple php form (my first time). I am
trying to enable the information that is typed in the form by
visitors, to be emailed directly to me. So far I can only get the
person's email address and message left in information box to be
sent to my email address. However, there are other contents within

Because you're not telling it to send them to you. Consider:

This line is correct and sends the email as it should. You're
telling
it that you want $detail as the body of the message. However,

Flash/PHP form help

I have posted this before a while back, but never figured it
out. I think I am really close.
When my form gets clicked, the following gets triggered:

Everything gets sent and all is working great. The only thing
that does not work is the ifStatement in the result_lv never gets
triggered. I think that this has to do with my php. I don't really
speak php and so I am having issues with it.
In the php I have two echos, which I was told I could use
with the result_lv. I think that my result_lv, does either not know
what it is listening to, or that my echos are wrong. The echos in
the php look like this.

and

What do I have to do, so Flash receives the echo and I can
tell the user that the info has been received.

OK, great, I am getting closer! Thank you so much.
I now get the "Email did not go through" case. The email gets
sent though, so I am not sure why that is happening. I am assuming,
where you say //find out if it's working first is working because
the if statement gets triggered.
How can I proceed from here?
