Form Preview Issue

Hello,
I would like to ask for help. Our application, that uses Adobe LiveCycle for form processing, has two options: Print and Preview.
All forms, designed in Adobe LiveCycle, reside on the dedicated server.
When we print forms everything is ok. But when we preview forms, after certain number of previews system doesn't allow preview anymore.
In order to resolve this problem we restart LiveCycle server.
Does anyone have similar problem? If yes, what would be a solution other than restarting LiveCycle server?
Thanks.

Hello Paul,
Thank you for reply, but I just got to my mail box.
Anyway, I'm not sure about log file. Are you asking about LiveCycle server log file? If yes, I have some of the files, but not sure if they are the right ones. An application server log file is not available. Should I look at the Event Viewer as well?
Attached please find part of the LiveCycle log file, because it's almost 70 MB and Outlook prevents me from attaching file of this size.
Thanks again,
Ilya.

• ES4 HTML Preview Issue

I need to know the Server Options and the HTMl preview context options to be given in order to preview the PDF form in ES4 HTML5 preview tab.
As I am already able to view a form as a PDF in ES4 but the same has to be previewed in HTML5 preview tab available in ES4 designer 11.0 version, Kindly guide me on how to get the PDF form to be viewed as HTML page in ES4 designer HTML5 preview tab.
what are the options need to be provided to achieve this work.
It will be very heplful for me to proceed with my work has these being a show stopper to my current work flow.kindly convey your inputs for the same as early as possible.

Take a look at following documentaion for configurigring LC Designer for HTML Preview:
http://helpx.adobe.com/livecycle/help/mobile-forms/preview-xdp-forms-html.html
Alternatively, you can use Mobile Forms IVS for html5 preview of xdp form as mentioned at http://helpx.adobe.com/livecycle/help/mobile-forms/using-ivs.html
[Make sure you are using .xdp file for preview and not .pdf]

• RAM Preview issue

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has seen this or can provide some direction for further investigation. This is on a new Mac Pro on which I have just installed FCS
In some projects the RAM preview has no effect on playback performance. After generating a RAM preview, the project will play at the same speed (say 2 fps) and as soon as I pause playing, the green progress bar that indicates project is loaded in RAM disappears or becomes fragmented - without modifying the project in any way. When this happens it also becomes nearly impossible to do additional editing as every simple task (as simple as resetting the play range) can result in the spinning beachball. There was a recent thread on RAM preview issues (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12215113&#12215113) but it appears the problem there was due to a long HDV project. The projects I experience this on generally have a lot of particles or replicated elements, but are standard 720 x 486 resolution projects lasting less than 10 sec. System memory usage is relatively small, less than 4 GB.
These issues arise on a recently purchased MacPro (3.33 GHz 6-Core, 16 GB RAM, ATI 5870). The boot disc is an OWC SSD, and user folders, scratch, etc are on separate hard drives. I installed the operating system on the SSD using the installation disc, and have manually installed all my programs from their original discs. (I initially used migration assistant to bring over applications, but that failed with some applications, so I wiped clean and started over). There have also been some past threads on how different hardware configurations can affect performance, but I don't seem to be doing anything abnormal here.
What I have done:
Tested ram using memtestosx
Verified memory usage through activity monitor. The projects I have tested on use up less than 4 GB of system memory
Before each test or comparison I reset preferences.
I do not have this flakey behavior with an older MBP (17" 2.93 GHz Core 2 MBP with NVIDIA 9600) running the same OS (10.6.4) and motion version (4.0.3). Running the same project on the MBP will take longer for the RAM preview to complete, but when it does, the project plays at full frame rate.
The upgrade to a MacPro was mainly for other CPU and RAM intensive applications unrelated to video or graphics, but I expected motion to show a nice performance boost over the MBP on this new machine. Anyhow, any insight or direction for further investigation that I should pursue will be appreciated.
Thanks.

I tried your project (nice, BTW), and yes, 20,000+ particles take some time to render. However, when I did a RAM Preview, I had no problems - after render it played at full speed.
UNTIL...
I selected the emitter. Then playback went to the pre-RAM-Preview speeds. As soon as I turned off overlays or made sure the emitter was not selected, the playback instantly sped back up to full speed. I believe this is because Motion needs to image the constantly changing outline of the emitter. This means it needs to be re-drawn every frame after Motion determines the extent/size of the 20,000 particles on their random journey.
I think this is backed up by the fact that near the end of your project, there are only a few particles to keep track of and the playback appropriately speeds up. Also, CPU usage vastly increases when I turn on the overlays.
Moral of the story? To ensure the quickest possible playback, turn off overlays (⌘/) or ensure that something like a particle emitter is not selected during playback.

• Preview issue. Send to iPhoto option is grayed out after Lion upgrade

Preview issue. Send to iPhoto option is greyed out after Lion upgrade.
In Snow Leopard it was an option to send pics from Preview to iPhoto, but now it is greyed out if I right-click on the pic. I have searced and tried everything, but I cannot fix it, so does anyone have a fix for it? Please :-)

I can offer no help but would also like to see this issue resolved. Firstly, it would be useful to know if this problem is seen by everyone. When viewing photos in Preview, with thumbnails in the sidebar, right-clicking on any of the thumbnails results in this:
Prior to the upgrade to Lion, "Send to iPhoto" was not greyed out and worked as expected.

• Quick preview issues

I’m using a late 2008 MBP and SL 10.6.4 with AP3. After importing around 5000 RAW to a new project, quick preview in full screen isn’t working properly. Viewing the photos in full screen at full resolution is not an issue. Only when switching to quick preview, the image disappears and the screen goes black. When flipping through the photos in full screen and quick preview on, the photos flash up for a blink of an eye before the screen goes black again.
What I’ve tried so far is to delete and generate new previews, repair permissions and the library and rebuild the library. However, as a result all projects now have the same issue. Moreover, photos aren’t shared with other (iLife) applications. The projects in the photo browser in Mail as well as the control panel for desktop background are empty. Sharing with iTunes, i.e. syncing photos on my iPhone, doesn’t work (again, projects have 0 photos). Of course, sharing is enabled in AP preferences. I’ve read several articles about this sharing problem but the solutions posted didn’t work for me. As sharing uses the jpg files, I guess this is somehow related to the quick preview issue.
It seems that for some reason Aperture does not read the jpg files. Any ideas what else I can try to solve this? Thanks!

Unfortunately, I do not have a solution for you because I am struggling with a similar problem since the release of AP3. I have also experienced the blink of an eye appearance and disappearance of some previews. Also, sometimes the thumbnails and the preview pictures shown are unrelated, or the previews are scrambled. I have tried every AP2 to AP3 conversion strategy in the book; the result is always the same. Hope Apple finds a solution for this quickly.

• RAM previewing issue

Hi,
I'm working in After Effects CS4, and I'm having a problem when I try to RAM preview short sections of an animation project. The RAM preview keeps stopping before it reaches the end of the work area, and beginning again. I'm pretty new to the program, but I've also noticed the little green bars that, I believe, tell you if the section has rendered/processed always have little gaps in them. That may be related. I don't know.
Does anyone know what may be causing this RAM previewing issue?
On a side note, I'm using After Effects on a Macbook (not a Macbook Pro), and I'm wondering whether this problem may be due to the Macbook not being sufficient for After Effects and CS4 in general. (I had originally intended to install the program on my 2004-era G5 tower, but it wouldn't install After Effects CS4 because apparently the program won't work with PowerPC processors, only Intel ones. At least that's what I was told.) Anyway, I've wondered whether the RAM previewing issue may be due to the Macbook not being enough computer for After Effects/CS4. My Macbook has a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 and 106 GB of available space.
Any insights on the RAM previewing issue and whether my Macbook isn't a suitable computer for these programs would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot,
Neil

From the theoretical specs there is nothing that speaks against your notebook. Apparently the biggest hurdle for some users is to get it to run in the first place, but now that it runs, it's safe to say that you will be able to use it properly. Of course, to let truth have its way, you will become slightly peeved at a point and get that yearning for a new machine, when you use more functions and your projects become more complex. Especially the only 2GB RAM will then often become a show stopper and you will really hate Adobe when one of those dreaded "Could not creat X x Y buffer" or similar out of memory warnings pop up. Still, no need to rush. Take your time and see, if AE is even everything you thought it would be and then make clear, structured plans for getting a new computer. You wouldn't wanna spend another 2000 bucks on a spiffy machine just to run AE once a month.

• Adobe Content Viewer (desktop preview) issues

The Adobe Content Viewer (desktop preview) runs off the bottom of my screen (27") when viewing content from InDesign for the new iPad. Would like to be able to alter window size and be able to scroll down to view artwork at full size. Am I missing something simple?
I've downloaded the latest updates for the folio producer tools as well as the folio panel update.

The Adobe Content Viewer for the desktop currently doesn't preview new iPad (2048x1536) folios properly. This desktop preview issue should be fixed in the next release.

• Very High Pro Forma Invoice Issue

Hi, any one explain about this
Very High Priority- Pro Forma Invoice Issue
how to create proforma invoice issue and where it can be used. In which scenarios we can use it.

Hello,
You can create Proforma Issue with the billing type F5 for Order related billing and F8 for delivery related billing.
A Proforma invoice is an invoice provided by a supplier in advance of providing the goods or service. The term pro forma (occasionally written proforma) comes from a Latin phrase meaning, "as a matter of form". Its meaning depends on the context in which it is used. In business terminology, A pro forma document is provided in advance of an actual transaction. Such a document serves as a model for the actual documents of the transaction. A pro forma (or proforma) invoice is a document that states a commitment from the seller to reserve some goods to be sold to a certain person, the buyer. The buyer places an order and if the seller agrees, it extend a proforma invoice; when the buyer receives this invoice and agrees to all the terms specified in it, the goods are sent and the proforma is replaced by a commercial invoice (the definitive document). A proforma invoice doesn't establish any obligation of transfering money from the buyer to the seller.

• Regarding Smart Form Printing, Print Preview issues

Hi,
I have couple of issues regarding Smart Form Printing, Print Preview.
In my program i am passing below parameters to smart form function module:
t_control-device = c_printer.
t_control-no_dialog = space.
t_control-preview = space.
t_control-no_dialog = c_x.
t_output-tddest = g_spld.
t_output-tdimmed = c_x. " Print Immediately
t_output-tddelete = space. " Don't Release spool after output
g_user_settings = c_x.
Issue#1: Though i have set preview paramter to space, after executing program it is prompting for Preview Screen, There again i have to give printer name though i am passing printer name as above and i need to hit on print preview button to set Layout output.
Here how can i go directly to layout output without preview screen.
Issue#2: In some cases we need to Print the layout set output after executing program immediately without prompting for preview screen and then Layout set output should also be shown after printing the output.
How can i solve these issues!
Thanks in advance.
Thanks,
Deep.

Hi,
In the SAP menu screen goto System->User Profile->Own data
There in the defaults tab, for the output device give the value you had maintained for g_spld. This will not prompt you a dialog screen, and if you want to print immediately select the checkbox as well. Then try to execute the smartform. Hope this solves ur issue.

• Preview Issue Livecycle ES4

I have created a new form in Adobe. I am able to preview the PDF without any issue, however I am not able to view HTML version. The screen is blank. What could be causing the issue?

• Preview issue (native and embedded via Safari) wth cut-paste and nested curly braces

Environment:
OS X 10.6.8
Preview 5.0.3 (504.1)
Updates: current as of 0800 CDT 24 Jul 2011
-- updates issued on 24 Jul 2011 are being applied but the changelog(s) do not mention this issue
Any PDF document containing code fragments which have more than 1 level of curly-brace
Issue:
Pasted text copied from PDF files is produced with lines out of order, line wrap and string breaks
in unexpected locations, and partial lines appended in unexpected ways. This appears to be an
issue with Preview since it can be reproduced by opening appropriate PDF content either in Preview
or Safari with the canonical Preview support for PDF documents.
To Reproduce:
1. Open the PDF with Preview or Safari
2. Position and size the viewing window to avoid any display-pane-induced line wrapping.
2. Drag-select the code block and paste into another document, the following have been tried with identical results:
- OpenOffice (writer) 3.3.0 (OOO330m20 Build 9567)
- Terminal 2.1.2 (273.1) (into a vi session in "insert" mode)
Results:
1. Original end-of-line positions are not preserved.
2. Line-wrap not preserved in original *or* visual aspects.
3. Lines trailing the first closing curly brace for the first curly brace pair at greater than nesting=2 are out of order.
Example:
original text: PDF download of O'Rielly document "JavaScript Cookbook"
origin: downloaded from O'Rielly web site, 2011-07-24@15:49
MD5 (JavaScript_Cookbook.pdf) = 9c6463ac28377bb69230536266369ccb
source lines: page 335, lines 5-30

<svg:svg width="600" height="600">

<svg:rect id="square" width="400" height="400" fill="#ff0000"
x="10" y="10" />
</svg:svg>

Copying this text from PDF form -- either in Preview or in Safari wth Preview doing the heavy lifting -- and pasting into a Terminal window running 'vi' in "insert" mode yields this:

<svg:svg width="600" height="600">

var square = document.getElementById("square");
// onclick event handler, change circle radius square.onclick = function() {
var color = this.getAttribute("fill"); if (color == "#ff0000") {
this.setAttribute("fill","#0000ff"); } else {
this.setAttribute("fill","#ff0000");
<svg:rect id="square" width="400" height="400" fill="#ff0000" x="10" y="10" />
</svg:svg>

NOTE THAT LINE SEQUENCE 3-4-5-6 OF THE PASTED TEXT CORRESPONDS TO LINES 6-21-20-22 OF THE ORIGINAL TEXT.

Shocking.
But best to let Apple know of any issues. We're just users here.

• PDF display and preview issue : NWDS 7.1 SP 05 + ALD 7.1

Hi All
I am creating a webdynpro java application in NWDS 7.1 SP 05. This application has an interactive form ui element. The livecycle designer version is 7.1 and reader versions tried are 8 and 9.
The issue is that the pdf preview in NWDS is blank and also I am getting blank white space instead of the form when i deploy the application on a browser.
I have used NWDS 7.1, SP05 + ALD 7.1 combination on another system and there i can see the form in NWDS pdf preview.
I am completely stuck, please let me know of any way out.
Thanks

I can't give a specific response, but if possible, upgrade to LCD 8.0 - it is much smoother to use than 7.1.

• SD Document Output Preview Issue

Hi Respected SD Seniors
Please help on this output issue.
I am trying to print my sales documents through STD output types.
Want to issue the sales document output to the screen (Preview) or Local network printer.
Please share with me the functional & technical config steps.
For example I am using AN00 (STD Quotation Output) for printing the customized quotation document. Every thing is set and I am able to
Trigger the output successfully. But I can’t see it on my screen and not able to print in my local printer.
After quotation saved, I can see the AN00 is in YELLOW. And 2 Output device are exists (LOCAL, LP01)
Please advice me the printing setup. Where should I do change to configure my print preview or connect my local network printer as a default SAP R/3. printer
Please help
Regards
Priyan

Hi Kishore
Thanks For your Quick Response.
According to the STD setup of AN00
Medium: 1
Dispatch Time: 1 (By Periodic Job)
Partner Function: SP
Storage Mode: Print Only
Condition record has been maintained and the output was triggered correctly upon saving the quotation document. (Process Status: Yellow)
Then i selected the output and changed Dispatch time to 4 (Immediate). The process status becomes RED once the document is saved.
Processing log is as follows
Line1: Object 0000560015
Line2: Output type: Quotation
Line3: Processing log for program /SMB40/RVADOR01 routine ENTRY
Line4: Processing routine ENTRY in program /SMB40/RVADOR01 does not exist
What is it meaning of Line4: Program is RVADOR01 exists in SE38
And Form /SMB40/SDQUO_A is existing in the SMARTFORMS transaction.
And to link the local print to SAP (As an output device), should i need to contact basis or any specific place that i need to setup.
Please Clarify
Regards
