Form scripts don't work on Ipad Adobe Reader?

Greetings - I have created a form in which some fields change colors, pop up alerts occur, etc. This works fine on any PC, but on the Ipad some of these functions don't work. Is there a known workaround? Do I need different scripts for Mac? Thank you!

Also, there is a special sub-forum for the iOS version of Reader:

  • Links don't work correctly in Adobe Reader 9

We have a PDF document in Acrobat 10 that contains links to other PDF documents.  This main document is hosted on our intranet site.  The documents that it links to are located on a network share accessed with a drive map.  When the main document is opened in Adobe Reader 9.x and one of the links are clicked, we get the message cannot find xxxxx Make sure the path or Internet address is correct.  The path that is displayed consists of both the path to the main document and the path to the linked document joined together. Internet Explorer then hangs and has to be terminated.  If we open the main document using Adobe Reader X, the links work properly. Unfortunately we can't upgrade most of our users to Adobe Reader X at this time.

Hy, thanks, but it doesn't help so far,
The Adobe reader X forward always to the first linked page, anyhow which screen settings are done....
Also I don't understand why I should make new links to the specific files (pages) as under Adobe 9.1 it works and I only have the Acrobate writer 9, so the same version as I have made it before.... the main problem is that I don't know which reader versions my costumers have.
Let me describe the problem again:
There are 7 different pdf pages as a own file combined in on whole pdf. File
Over the main page (in German "Deckblatt") they could be reached, as I have made there the overview with the link to on of those files (pages) in the whole pdf- file. On all those files there is also a back button witch is directly linked to the main page again.
But this doesn´t work in anyway.....since the Reader X version, on lower ones it work pretty good....
It must only be any setting, also the phone service told me that, but told me that I should get in contact in here....

  • STUCK IN GUIDED ACCESS ON IPAD. TRIPLE-CLICKING AND FORCER REBOOTS DON'T WORK, THE IPAD JUST UNLOCKS ITSELF AND GOES BACK TO THE APP I WAS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stuck in Guided Access on iPad. iOS 7!
    - Triple-clicking won't work, the Accessibility Options pop-up and I tap Guided Access, it unticks, but no passcode input screen comes up, and the iPad stays in guided access.
    - Forced reboots don't work, the iPad just unlocks it self (no lock code) and goes back to the app that I am stuck in, which is Google Chrome.
    - Lost Mode is not an option, location services are off.
    - When I plug it into my computer, iTunes says that it is locked with a passcode, so I can't back it up.
There seems like no possible way to get out.
    Help!?

If you are prepare to wipe your iPad.
    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Hold Sleep/Wake button down and slide to turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...

Sorry, I don't understand this - you don't want Adobe [Reader] not to open when doing what?  On what operating system?

  • Hyperlinks limitations in iPad Adobe Reader

We have made an interactive PDF in InDesign CC with 89 slides, some forms, 5 hyperlinks to web and 147 hyperlinks to jump to other slides. Generated PDF in Adobe Reader on PC works OK. On iPad looks like iPad Adobe Reader 11.2.4 accepts only round 100 hyperlinks and other are ignored. All programs are the latest version. Are there on iPad Adobe Reader limitations for hyperlinks?

Many forms of interactivity are not supported by Adobe Reader for iPad or iPhone (or for Android devices as well).
Read my posting from a couple years ago on this topic:
For Interactive PDF, Not All Readers Are Equal | InDesignSecrets
If you want full PDF interactivity, you need to pay for a good PDF reader like PDF Expert from Readdle ($US 9.99).

  • Trouble logging in with iPad adobe reader app

Just got iPad mini. Installed adobe reader app. Can't get it to recognize my email or password. Anyone else using iPad app can you help?

    Hi Julie,
Now try logging again from your iPad Adobe reader app, probably now you must have clicked on the email verification link that you got after creating the account on files.acrobat.com.
For transferring your files, download the file from website and place it in your Acrobat.com account opened from web client. Now you can access it from your iPad by signing in Acrobat.com.

  • :*(  Form buttons don't work for all testers

I created a form in Acrobat 9.1 using Forms> Add or Edit Fields. The form contains action buttons for next page and previous page, to clear all fields, and (with the generous help of a fellow forum member) to print the form and save it to disk. I optimized the form with compatibility set to Acrobat 8.0 and later, then enabled it for Reader. I sent this form to several users for testing.
Those using Acrobat have no problems with it.
Those using Foxit Reader have no problems with the action buttons or the form fields (except that date fields are finicky; Foxit doesn't convert the dates to the correct format the way Reader or Acrobat do). But, the yellow background that I created as a watermark -- so I could make it visible but not print -- is printing. That's not anything that Acrobat can help, but it is a very good reason to not recommend using Foxit. It would create a dreadful shortage of yellow inkjet ink.
Those using Reader 8.0 to 8.1.2 are having several problems. For them, the action buttons don't work... except the "clear all fields" one. The buttons don't do anything; there are no errors, no messages, no activity of any kind except to change color when clicked.
The buttons that don't work are all set up as Mouse Up actions executing a menu item... for example, "Go to page 2" is just View>Go To>Next Page. The "Clear all fields" button is, on Mouse Up, "Reset a form" with all fields selected... so it's the only kind of button that works for Reader users, and it's the only button that doesn't execute a menu item.
Why is there a difference in actions these users can run? If it's a security issue... what possible risk is there in going to the next page, using a button instead of a scroll bar or Page Down key??? I can find no common sense here, especially because Reader users are the only ones barred from these form actions. Everyone else can use them.
-- Also, these testers (Reader 8+) are having problems with the tab order. Some of the radio button groups (which have no more than three options, Yes, No and NA) at first appear to be tabbing correctly, because the Yes option receives focus in the correct order... but randomly, tabbing through several fields, suddenly the No option will get focus... in a radio button group nowhere near the current tab location. Tabbing is rendered useless, then, because these anomalies are unpredictable and it doesn't appear there's anything I can do to prevent this from happening.
It's pointless to delete and re-add the afflicted radio buttons. That has no effect... and the radio button groups are already in the correct order anyway. I don't know how this could possibly happen... But it doesn't happen for the Foxit or Acrobat testers.
    • Why would Reader be the only app that can't use the buttons and can't tab through the fields correctly? I'd think Adobe's own software would work best with their own file format. •
Is Reader 8 the problem --- should those users all update to the newest version? I don't have any Reader 9+ testers yet. Nobody seems interested in it. The testers all assume the problems are MY fault, so nobody's happy with me and no one wants to bother testing the forms because there's always something wrong.
<hair-pulling> I seriously regret upgrading to Acrobat 9.1.  I know other forum members who agree this thing is catastrophically buggy -- I've wasted  weeks trying to iron out all the problems I've been having with these forms, forms that should have been quick and simple to create, and in past versions of Acrobat, would have been. Yet I'm still tearing out my hair over tab order! Worse, I fear I'm close to losing my job for all the time wasted and all the projects I've fallen behind in because of this. <no /hair-pulling in sight>

I have no clue, but it might make a difference depending on the form being produced in Acrobat versus Designer. Acrobat will take you both places and one of them may have an issue with backward compatibility. I have not heard of that, but it is a possibility.

  • Commands don't work on IPAD

I have created a fillable form and added a link to a file but I cannot open the link from my iPad but I can from my desktop? I have also added a JavaScript which works fine on my desktop but doesn't work on my iPad. Can anyone help as to why it doesnt work on my iPad.

    aquapura,
Adobe Reader for iOS supports hyperlinks to open a web link (e.g. "http://..." or "https://...") or go to a page view within the same document but does not support hyperlinks to open a file.
To make hyperlinks work on any platforms (Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone), I'd recommend not to use the hyperlinks that refer to a specific file system.
Adobe Reader for iOS provides limited JavaScript support. Please see the following online document to see which JavaScript APIs are supported.
JavaScript for Reader Mobile API Reference (iOS)
Please let us know if you have additional questions.  Thank you.

  • Html link to pdf works ok on mac but not on ipad. adobe reader for ipad downloaded.

HTML link to pdf works ok on Mac but not on ipad. Adobe Reader for ipad downloaded. What's wrong?

    Hi pwillener,
Thank for reply. The pdf’s are in a subfolder “PDF” of the folder holding the web page. The web page itself uses
. This works in full size computer browsers but not in an iPad.
My excursion through the search engine has produced the idea of adding #page = requesting page to the URL but I have not had time to try it perhaps without the = sign.

  • Is it work with ipad Adobe acrobat pdf reader app

i Need to know before brushing can i use it with ipad adobe pdf reader app
    as for highlighting some statements

Unfortunately - you can't dictate what software other people will use to open your files.
The only suggestion I have is to make a note beside the Download of the file that it's best viewed in Acrobat Reader or Professional.
    Acrobat Reader is free.
Firefox PDF reader is pittance too - my PDFs show up with "black" where it should be "white" - I had to turn off their inbuilt PDF reader and tell the Application to use Acrobat. You can find instructions online for this.
Other than that - see what the Microsoft forums say about the PDF reader and how to get "things working" as it's clearly a fault in their software.

  • Does Ipad adobe reader allow to fill a  dynamic xml form created on LiveCycle?

The form was created using LiveCycle Designer ES3 for the purpose of being filled out on the spot at the client and then submitted as email attachment. However, Adobe reader does not seem to be able to open it giving the following error:
"Please wait... If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document..."
The form is dynamic XML, and in the description of the Adobe Reader for the Ipad, it mentions that it is capable of opening forms under the Livecycle rights.
However, if the Reader can not open dynamic XML's, how can I convert the form into a compatible fillable form for the Ipad?
    Thanks.

LiveCycle Dynamic XML Forms are not supported in the Mobile versions of Adobe Reader.

  • Package of Forms 6 don't Work???

    Hi all,
I have a serious problem concering the call of simple fuction of forms 6 like: Do_key, call_form and so on!!
i explain the problem, i have moved my fmx form to the Intranet server, and i found out that my form could not call any function like Do_key('Enter_query'), but when i replace the instruction with just 'Enter_query it works'???? as if the forms Server don't find the package of forms 6??? is it normal?? or is the package of forms 6 created when we install for the first time the forms6 server side?? or maybe there is a path that i should specify in order to find these functions???
    Anyone can help me please???

you may have had matching instance names, but not the same
    instances.
for example, if you have an object with instance name name1
on frame 1. then create a blank keyframe on frame 2 and then a
keyframe on frame 3 and drag another object from the library (and
it can be the same library object) and name it name1, the frame 1
and frame3 objects will be different instances. code referencing
the object in frame 1 will not reference the object in frame 3 (and
    vice-versa).
if you create frame 1 and create name1 in that frame, then
create keyframe 3 (so name 1 is in both frames) and finally create
blank keyframe 2, the 2 instances will be the same. any code
referencing name1 will reference both objects.

  • TASCAM IXZ don't work with iPad 2 on IOS 5

    Hello,
subject is clear. This interface don't work with iPad2 on IOS 5 ; with iPhone 4 on IOS 5 it does the job but not with the iPAd.
The Alesis IODock don't work too.
Apple ? an answer ? why are you still selling this product ?
    Many thank's in advance,
    Nicolas.

Hi and thank's so much for you response. I've tried to change the mini jack to x2 jack, i've test on other speakers but the problem is the same with headphone, so it couldn't be the jack. When i try on iPhone 4 it works but not on ipad2, no input. I've tried with other apps Like ampkit and amplitude because they say (tascam) that it works well. I've also writen to emails to teac (creator of ixz) but no answer. The problem is that there is no comments from peoples who have used the ixz. I'm really sad.
