Form submit problem - help please!
I am new to this forum and to using forms, so I hope I am posting this in the correct area. I want to have a Volunteer Application form and I set it all up but the first time through I mistyped my email address. Since then I have tried MANY different things to try and fix this including starting from scratch, resaving my email address with adobe's website, and then I finally removed the submit email button altogether. BUT, next to Highlight Fields there is a Submit button and and that still submits to the wrong address!
I check the xml source and it shows the email address correctly - but under advanced setting in Acrobat I see: http://ns.adobe.com/AcrobateAdhocWorkflow/1.0/ and then further down the list is:
adhocwf:initiator:mywrongemailaddress
I would greatly appreciate any help at all on how to fix this.
Thank you.Hi,
There are many ways to set up a Submit button, but the way you are describing is using the "Email Submit" button in LC Designer. You can change the email address here:
If on the other hand you have used a Regular Button and changed the type to Submit, then you would access the email via the Submit tab:
That deals with the LiveCycle side of things.
The next step is if you had Reader Enabled the form in Acrobat. What happens next depends on the version of Acrobat you have, but if it is Acrobat version 8 or 7, then the step to Reader Enable the form is to Distribute the form via the Form menu. See this example/summary with screen shots: http://assure.ly/etkFNU .
If you have made a mistake during this process, then you may have affected your ID in Acrobat preferences. I can't do a screenshot for Acrobat version 8 or below, But if you have a look in Preferences (from the Edit menu) and go to the Identity tab, check your email address there:
This is Acrobat X:
Hope that helps,

Acrobat 9: Error when PDF form submit with file attachment
Hi all,
Hope you can provide some help with my PDF form submit issue. I am getting this error "There is no PDDoc associated with this CosDoc." in Acrobat 9 (Reader and Pro) when I try to submit a PDF form with a file attachment field (the file is specified). The same PDF form works fine in Acrobat 7 or 8 (Reader and Pro) with file attachment.
If no file attachment is specified (user did not select a file) then the PDF form submits fine in acrobat 9. The form data submission format is in FDF. Same problem if I change to XFDF.
There are no differences in the problem if the PDF form is created in Acrobat 7 or Acrobat 9, the same submit issue exists in Acrobat 9 but not in the older Acrobat versions.
Is this a known issue and are there any workarounds/solutions?
Thanks.Sounds like a bug to me. Please report it: http://www.adobe.com/support/feature.html

Javascript form.submit() fails when imbeded in table
Before updating this worked fine, but now version 3.6.12 is failing to respond to javascript form.submit() inside a html select option control!
Operating system is Windows 7
The problem seems to be, because the form is imbeded inside a table.
Internet Explorer is still working ok, so looks like Firefox is now going to take second fiddle until / unless this is solved!
Yes, I know the easy way would be to remove the table! But then I have to use some other way of displaying data on the page!Yeah, but it worked fine untill the last update!
I also have trouble with other javascript things, for example fckeditor no longer works in firefox.
I have been avoiding Internet explorer, but now it looks like I will be forced to use it, because it is still working with the things that I use on a regular basis... -
Increase in SPAM web form submissions
Hi,
I'm noticing a trend of increased SPAM web form submissions across most of our BC sites. This has got particularly bad in the past week or so. All SPAM submissions follow a very similar theme. The text is complete 'gobbledygook' basically! The forms being used don't have any description fields where long descriptions or links can be entered so I struggle to see why this is happening.
What I want to know is:
- is this something other BC partners are noticing, particularly recently
- are your SPAM submissions similar to what I have shown below
- what can we do to reduce these other than using CAPTCHA on all forms?
- we exclusively use BC but I would be interested to know if the BC platform is particularly bad for SPAM submissions or is this something all sites are suffering from nowadays?
- any other light you could shed on this issue or advice you could impart would be much appreciated
Real submission example:
First name: tjlavseb
Surname: tjlavseb
Email: [email protected]
Date: hgnhQMmssGynJLb
Time: 11am
House Name: LHkJxazHGUYClEZJQd
Street address: nvOaQumEsbBGsA
Postcode: lJEODtxlXjHi there,
We are experiencing a high volume of spam since changing our web forms on our newly redesigned site. The objective of the site design was to make it quick and easy for clients to get a quick quote thus asking for only a few fields to be completed. Adding a captcha form would actually detract from the purpose of the form.
We have implemented the honey pot field which seems to have made little to no difference in volume (this seems to be the case for this fix across many other users of BC). The problem is with our spam is quite unusual whereby we are not getting any specific info from them really making it hard to detect if it is spam or real. See example;

Interactive PDF Form Submit Button Not Working
Hi there,
I created an Interactive PDF in InDesign with a form included in the document. When I export as an interactive PDF my Adobe Reader will allow me to fill out the form no problem, however, when I click submit to connect the form to my email, it says "operation not permitted". Any ideas on how to fix this issue?Reader prior to version 11 cannot save the document unless it is Reader-enabled, which you can do with Acrobat. Exactly how depends on which version you're using. In Acrobat 11: File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools

Form's onSubmit event is called when only an submit button has clicked. So onChange events don't trigger onsubmit event of form object. This is JavaScript problem not creator. But it can be fixed by changing "formElements.js" in DefaultTheme.jar.
Changes..
1-) Added in common_submitForm function
if(public_formToSubmit.onsubmit)
public_formToSubmit.onsubmit(); just before
public_formToSubmit.submit();2-) Added in hyperlink_submit function
if(theForm.onsubmit)
theForm.onsubmit();Just before
theForm.submit();3-) Added in jumpDropDown_changed function
if(form.onsubmit)
form.onsubmit();Just before
form.submit();*Note: Also Wizard.js and FileChooser.js files has submit call, and it can be changed to call onSubmit event.Thank you for sharing the information.

Form submit button to auto open a tabpanel tab?
Hi everyone. I've been trying to get a form submit button to keep a tabpanel opened. I have three panels one for the user to update their profile. Another show their current shopping cart, and the third to search past orders. It is this third panel that I'm having problems with. Whenever I click submit, the page refreshes with the default panel 0 open. I have to click on the third tab to see the results of my search. I've added the following code to the input field:
<input type="submit" name="search" value="Search" href="?tab=2&panel=2"/>
I've also tried:
<a>
<input type="submit" name="search" value="Search" href="#" onClick="TabbedPanels1.showPanel(2); return false;"/> </a>
And I've also tried:
<a href="#" onClick="TabbedPanels1.showPanel(2); return false;">
<input type="submit" name="search" value="Search" /> </a>
No such luck.
How do I get to keep this panel open during a search?
Thanks

Stripping out html from form submissions
My web developer is using the attached code to strip/disallow
html code from form submissions in an effort to prevent someone
from posting dangerous scripts or code via a form or blog.
Problem is, I DO want to at least allow people to post url
links to external content like youtube videos, their own webstes,
images etc.... Basically if it is something hosted AND viewed on a
site other than mine I would like to give them the ability to link
to it. How could I edit the code to allow links of this nature or
is there a better way to do this?
My developer has basically told me there is no other way. It
is either disallow it all or open it up. I disagree with this and
am looking for a 2nd opinion.url links are not html.
Regular expressions are not my strength, but it looks like
that function is simply replacing sets of angle brackets with empty
strings.
In other words, if your users submit
http://somesite.com, that will not
be affected by the function. However, if they submit <a href="
http://somesite.com">, it will be
transformed to href="
http://somesite.com". In either
case, it will be text, not a link. -

Write this coding for that.
<input type="submit" value="Save" 0nClick="onInputProcessing(save)" />
and check event_id in onInputProcessing event handler.
If I have not understood your problem do revert back.

MULTI ITEM ENTRY AT A TIME IN TABULAR FORM SUBMIT ONE TIME
No, it wasn't addressed to you but rather the OP - sorry for the confusion.
I try where possible to point out that without asking a sensible and clear question, posters are unlikely to get sensible and clear answers. A lot of time is wasted on this forum trying to get people to ask questions properly.
Cheers

Is it possible to reset the form submit state? I have a page with many input components, some of which are set to "Auto-Submit on Change". When submitting, a new window is opened with the report results.
I need the user to go back to the original input page and change some of the original input fields. However, when doing so the page is submitted by just changing one of the Auto-Submit input components. I would like to be able to reset the form submit state (or the hyperlink submit state), so that the page is not auto-submitted when changing input fields.
Thanks,

Is JavaFX 2.2.2 going to be part of JRE7u8?
Hi guys, It's great that we have JavaFX finally integrated into the JRE starting from JRE7u6. JavaFX 2.2 fixed a lot of issues and is a great step forward. However there is still a bunch of bugs that didn't make it into 2.2 and are targeted/approved
