Form takes up to 2 minutes to open - why??

I'm a fairly new user to LiveCycle. I created a performance appraisal review form in LiveCycle v9.0, yet it takes almost 2 minutes to open. The files size is showing only 333KB. Other forms I've created do not take very long at all to pop open. I have no idea how to begin to diagnose why this is happening. Any help is greatly apprecaited.

So I tested it out on Windows Pro Reader X 3GB and it opened right away. Then I put it down to 1GB and it took over a minute! Best bet is to get a faster machine! (or at least a memory upgrade)
In the mean time, I had a look at your form and there were a lot of objects and subforms that didn't need to be there, so I cleaned it up and made one repeatable subform. It works a lot faster now even on a 1GB.

  • Iphoto takes at least 10 minutes to open

This is really dumb. I have 5000 photos and it takes more than 10 minutes to open Iphoto. I wanted to show some pictures this weekend and I was embarrassed to tell my sister that it would take like 15 minutes to open them. I would only expect this nonsense on a windows machine. Doesn't someone have a answer?

Do you have Windows installed via Bootcamp? Try unmounting that partition. The problem is caused by Spotlight trying to index it.

  • Ultiboard file takes up to 5 minutes to open or save a file. how can I solve that?

Hi, recently I modified a previous design created using ultiboard 10.0. Since that day, every time I save or load the file it takes 5 minutes or more to finish the required action. It's really annoying to wait that long in the middle of work for the user interface to become usable again. It didnt happen before. I tried to select all and copy in a new file as Nestor suggested in a previous post, but after I selected all and pressed the copy button, the application hangs.. how can I restore the file? or al least reduce the time needed to save or load. Thanks.

    Hi!
To help you better in your problem can you please give me some informations:
-Wich version of Ultiboard are you using now?
-Wich packet are you using? It is Student, Base, Education, Full or PowerPro edition?
To obtain this information, after opening the Ultiboard software click in Help > About Ultiboard.
I'll be waiting for your informations.

  • Data Forms takes a lot of time to open

    Hi,
My Data Forms are having around 24 columns and some 150 rows, with multiple currencies. I have gone through the document 779502.1 for data form design considerations. But I cant split this form, have dense dimensions in rows and columns and rest in page and POV, not many dynamic members, have static dimensions in POV and hidden, no business rule running on save, and not much data in it as its still in development so not using suppress #missing. What are other ways to have data forms open faster? its not the IE , I tried opening with other browsers too. Please suggest
    Thank You

    Hi,
What are your hardware specs ?
Are you working from a remote environment ? If you are, activating HTTP compression will greatly reduce the time needed to open the forms.

  • Help! Lion has basically paralyzed my system. It takes 10 to 15 minutes to open a folder, to open Applications, Safari freezes and won't let me sign into the forums (I'm on a different computer). I tried to re-install Snow Leopard, but no go!

Basics - 2008 iMac, 2.8 Ghz, 4 Gig RAM, 500 Gig HDD with over 100 Gig free. DId Disk Utility verification and files-disk are fine. Programs will run, but any filing just stops everything (spinning beach ball). I've managed to back up some major content to an external HD, and hopefully, despite the inordinate amount of time it takes, I'll be able to off-load more. But how do I get Lion to work or, alternatively, other than completely erasing the HD, how do I re-install Snow Leopard?

Your upgrade must have failed.  Unless you very very recently upgraded Lion, as in the last hour or two.  Then you need to go to System Preferences and Energy Saver and stop it from automatically sleeping.  Let it sit overnight.  It could be spotlight re-indexing your disk and slowing you way way down.
If that doesn't work then you can re-install Lion cleanly.  You need to finish backing up your data.  Then make a Lion USB flash boot disk or DVD.  Hold option key when you boot and select the USB or DVD drive.  Run Disk Utility and delete then recreate the partition, exit Disk Utility and install Lion.  Then restore your applications and data.

  • Hi When I open my Adobe reader it takes on average a minute to open up. How can I speed this up?

The wheel on the right hand side takes so long to go around

    Hi Vince,
What is the configuration of the system on which you have installed windows 8.1 (specifically processor and memory details. ).
Are there too many programs running on your system when you launch Reader?
I would recommend you to close any extra background programs/ processes on your system because that might lead to delayed launch of Reader.
I would also recommend you to increase the virtual memory on your system that might help with this issue : http://www.wisecleaner.com/think-tank/136-How-to-Increase-Virtual-Memory-Size-in-Windows-8 .1.html
    Hope that helps

  • I upgraded to Itunes 10.5 and attempted to download new Iphone software, now my computer is extremely laggy and it takes Itunes about 6 minutes to open

I am pretty sure my computor didnt begin lagging until I tried upgrading my Iphone software, it was stuck on "Backing up Iphone" for about an hour, an error occured and I had to reset my computer, all aspects of my computor are extremly slow

Had the same thing happen to me when I tried syncing my iPhone this a.m. - talked to Apple 7 hours ago and evidently there's an "issue" with the iTunes server. The Apple adviser told me to try syncing in an hour. Well, rather than do that, I've continued to check Twitter, searching on "itunes sync" or "itunes server" - seems the problem's still going on.
I'm going to wait it out til tomorrow. Or whenever.
The REASON I was synching is that ever since the iOS 5 "upgrade" photos that were in albums synced from iPhoto had disappeared. Not all the photos, just all the photos in some albums. Weird.
Too many bugs in iOS 5 (syncing, Bluetooth connectivity, etc.). They should have waited til it was right before releasing it.

  • Imac is painfully slow. Opening up applications takes 2 to 3 minutes. This occured just after a failed attempt at downloading a TV episode on Itunes.

I was downloading a TV episode in Itunes when it froze. The download was not completed. I had to use the emergency shut down processes and then restart my Imac. Everything now takes 2 to 3 minutes to open up. I have access to all my applications,as far as I know,  but everything including my internet is painfully slow. Almost like itues is still running in the background or something.

Go to user>Applications>Utilities>Activity Monitor and check to see what applications are using all your memory.  You can quit the offending app in Activity Monitor - please let us know what happens,

  • Applications take 1-2 minutes to open at startup.

    Hello,
I've had a problem for a while with my iMac taking 1-2 minutes to open applications after startup.
I then cleared up a lot of hard drive space & installed Leopard--and that seemed to do the trick.
But the problem has come back. Any application takes at least one minute to open properly after the computer is started up (Mail, Safari, iTunes etc)
I am running Leopard 10.5.8 with 2GHz INtel Core Duo & 2 GB 667 MHz Memory.
With 45 GBs of free hard drive space.
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Marc

  • 30 minutes to open Itunes

There are a lot of posts out there about how slowly itunes is loading but I have yet to find one with as much drag as mine or solutions that I haven't already tried.
I have a 2-3 year old MacBook Pro. 2.2 GHz processor. 40 GB open on my internal hard drive out of 120 GB. I have 300 GB of music on a 500 GB external Western Digital Passport USB drive.
The problem is that iTunes takes at least 15 minutes to open every time I use it and sometimes 30-45 minutes. From other people's posts it seems there's a lot of people dealing with 30 second delays. At this point I would be thrilled with a 5 minute delay.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've defragged, I've deleted podcasts, I have minimal apps and nothing seems to help.
Does anybody have any input that could help me? Let me know if you need to know more system information.
Is it simply that I have too much music (34,000 songs) for iTunes to handle?
    Thanks for your help.

I've had this same problem for at least a year. Problem exists both on a PC desktop and laptop, the common thread is that the music is stored on an external hard drive. In my case a Buffalo network attached drive instead of USB.
When I start iTunes I can hear it thrash that drive on load. Library is 20k songs ~124Gb. The loading is so painful that I frankly don't use iTunes anymore unless I have to shift new songs onto the phone. Otherwise I do all application searching/installing directly on the phone and music purchasing through Amazon. It's just much faster than waiting for iTunes to load.
I've reinstalled itunes, deleted my library and rescanned, doesn't matter. Both the laptop and desktop have the issue. I've installed the separate Quicktime player just so I don't have to wait 15 minutes if I happen to want to watch a .mov stored on my PC.
Always assumed it was an iTunes for Windows issue, but now suspect this is just poor handling of non-local harddrives.

  • Forms Takes TOOOOOO Long to Load

    Hi all,
I am having a form containing a tabbed canvas consisting of 7 tab pages. There are approximately 8 blocks containing nearly 300 items in total(mainly display items and buttons and no image items) and nearly 10 form level program units and 2 libraries attached.
In this scenario my forms takes 5 seconds to load and open up.I am running on a Windows 2000 machine(PIII,256 Mb Ram, 20 GB hard disk)in client server mode.
So how do I tune/Tweak my form to make it load quickly....
One more aspect I am wondering is that is there any way to track the DML statements forms issues implicitly whenever a commit operation happens. Is there any system variable similar to :system.last_query for this??.....
    Any help/Suggestions are appreciated.....

Try to make VISBLE ON only those required.
Make Visible Property OFF for all the canvases initially and then Make VISIBLE ON on When-New-Form-Instance Trigger for required Canvases. Rest will be VISIBLE ON when they are accessed.
Do not Make items or canvases ON and OFF frequenty.
Use the concept of "message diff-ing"
hnOn the Form!&s initial display, hiding elements not immediately required. Use the item properties:
hnRAISE ON ENTRY = YES (Canvas only)
    hnVISIBLE = NO
Forms when loading the Initial Form gets the Message Packets for Each item and each Canvas. For Example if you have 2 Canvases and set the Visible = YES at Design Time for both the Canvases then the Forms will first Load the Canvas and then gets the properties of each Item in the Canvas which will increase the time for Loading the Initial Screen.
When you set the Visible = NO at Design time and Set the Visible property on the When New Form Instance trigger then forms Server will send the Packets of all the Items in one Bundle and the Painting will be done after the form gets Initialized. This will reduce lot of Traffic on the Network as we are getting the item information in One packet for all the items, which will improve the timing on loading the Initial Form.
Care should be taken in defining the RAISE ON ENTRY property. Raise on Entry should be set to yes only for the Stacked canvases but not for Content Canvases. If you set the Content canvas RAISE ON ENTRY = YES for content canvas which contains stacked canvases then the Raise on Entry will show the Content Canvas and the all the stacked canvases will be disappeared.
For Ex. If your form has some Items on the Content Canvas and you have a Tab canvas which has 3 Tabs, which is Stacked to the Content. Then when you navigate to any item in the Content Canvas you will not see the Tab Canvases as the Raise on Entry on the Content Canvas will only raise the Content Canvas but not the Stacked Canvases.
Pay attention to TAB canvases that consist of several sheets where only one will ever be displayed.
For responsive switching between tabs, all items for all sheets on the canvas are loaded, including
those that are hidden behind the initial tab. Consequently, the time taken to load and initialize a TAB canvas is related to all objects on the canvas and not just to those initially visible. So the best approach is to put the other Tab canvases on a different Canvas(if possible) and the Canvas visible property to No and Raise on Entry to Yes which will pop up when the user navigates to that canvas.

  • Interactive form takes 10-15 minutes to open and exhausts system resources.

The version of Livecycle designer am using is 7.1
The interactive form that I designed is taking like 10-15 minutes to open and while its opening, its taking all the system resources as I see a prompt on the task bar besides time/date  "Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low".
The tutorial project works fine, the TravelRequest.pdf opens just fine: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/user-interface-technology/wd%20java/wdjava%20archive/offline%20interactive%20pdf%20form%20using%20download.pdf
Would installing version 8.0 solve this ?
    I am on NWDS sp18.

  • "Open Interface Invoices" Form takes time to open!

    Hi Guys,
In our production system, it takes 3 minutes to open "Open Interface Invoices" form (AP Manager>Invoices>Entry>Open Interface Invoices). So what should we do so as to avoid this.
I was thinking to delete data from two tables (AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE & AP_INVOICE_LINES_INTERFACE) based on certain crieterions. Like all the records which have been successfully imported i.e. with status='PROCESSED' can be deleted. So, I can achieve this using two methods:
    1. Manually using SQL Delete statement. i.e.
    DELETE FROM AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE WHERE status='PROCESSED';
    DELETE FROM AP_INVOICE_LINES_INTERFACE
    WHERE invoice_id IN (SELECT invoice_id FROM AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE WHERE status='PROCESSED');
    2. Or I can use "Payables Open Interface Purge" Program.
I ran this program for my specific source, and checked the count from tables but the result is the same. This means this program has not deleted any of the processed records from these two tables for the particular source.
What can be the reason for this? Please suggest me on this.
    Thanks a lot!
