Form templates for Acrobat 9 Pro on Mac?

H! I've had absolutely no luck finding this via Google, Adobe, searches, etc. Hoping someone can shed some light here.
We have several computers in our office running Windows and Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional. These computers can create new Acrobat forms based on pre-made templates that were included in the software package. When making a form using the templates, it opens up a program named "Designer" or something similar.
I'm personally running a Mac on Snow Leopard and I have the Acrobat 9 Pro version installed. I don't have an option to create a form using a template - only a pre-existing PDF or another type of file (or, of course, from a scanned page).
In the Adobe TV tutorial on Acrobat Forms, the narrator mentions that Mac versions don't have a certain feature in their form creation wizard. I'm worried that, although Acrobat 9 is advertised as having a library of template form files, I can't use any of them because of my computer and OS.
Any ideas or resources where I can get a definitive answer or workaround?
Really appreciate the help!

You can get a definitive answer right here.
LiveCycle Form Designer (what the folks with Windows use) is not available for the Mac OS.

  • FIPS 140-2 encryption for Acrobat 9 Pro on Mac?

I wonder if anyone can help? I need to send documents using the FIPS 140-2 standard. Is this possible on Mac I read somewhere that it isn't!! I don't want to buy another piece of software (i.e. PGP). Any suggestions? Needs to be fairly step by step help.
    Many thanks.

FIPS for Acrobat is indeed a Windows only feature.

  • Fatal error distributing forms with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

Fatal error distributing forms with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    I click
    "Adobe Acrobat Pro/Formularer/Distribuer formularer/"
    ("Adobe Acrobat Pro/Forms/Distribute forms/")
and chose a form for distribution and in the picture "Distribute Form" chose
"Automatically download & organize responsees with Acrobat.com".
I then click "Next" and write an email-address to send it to (i.g. to my own)
    and then click "Send".
    The program quickly writes
    "Authenticating email-addresses"
and then gives the following error message
"Borland Database er ikke installeret. Kan ikke indlæse tjenesteudbyder af Corel-adressekartotetek."
("Borland Database is not installed. Can not read load service provider of Corel address directory.")
When I clik "OK" I get the error message
"Adobe Acrobat has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I have undeleted and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat many times without any effect.
The same procedure has been tried on another computer without any problem.
What is my problem and how do I resolve it ?

  • Why can't I create Fillable PDF Forms using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and upload to Dreamweaver?

I can create fillable PDF Forms using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. I can email them to someone using Adobe Reader (free) and they can fill them, save and email to me. But when I upload the form to Dreamweaver CS5, the form is not fillable. And yes, I saved it as a Reader Extended PDF-Enable Additional Features.

I see no reason for this form to fail in Reader. Some questions for you.
    1. On the system with Adobe Reader, what is the system and the version of Adobe Reader?
    2. Are you viewing the PDF in a browser on the system with Reader, or in an Adobe Reader window?
    3. If it's a browser
    (a) what is the browser
    (b) if you download the file instead, and open directly in Reader, what happens?

  • Are Distributed Forms created in Acrobat XI Pro compatible with Response Forms in Acrobat X Pro?

I want to be able to use distributed forms (created in Acrobat XI Pro) that I have received back through email with Acrobat X Pro.  That is, I want to be able to import the form information that is being sent back to me into a response form in Acrobat X Pro. Is this kind of "forward-compatible" issue possible?
Or, since I created the distributed forms in Acrobat XI Pro, can I only import data from those forms in an appropriate response from in Acrobat XI Pro?
    Thanks!

The distribution technique for email, network folder, or internal server haven't changed between Acrobat X and XI so you should be able to do this; however, it won't be managed through Tracker because you're distributing the form through different programs.

Can someone help me install Acrobat 8 Pro on MAC 10.9.4?

I don't think this version of Acrobat is compatible with your OS (seeing as the minimum requirement for Acrobat 9 is Mac OS X v. 10.4.11 or 10.5)...
In other words, time to upgrade to Acrobat XI.

  • New 3D Update for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

The following URL will take you to the download page for a new 3D Update for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4073
This free downloadable executable contains several updated dynamic link libraries (DLLs) that provide support for more recent versions of CAD file formats when using Adobe® Acrobat® 9 Pro Extended and Adobe 3D Reviewer. It also fixes a number of bugs related to CAD format import in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and 3D Reviewer.
New supported CAD format versions for this update:
    CAD format: Autodesk Inventor
Supported version: Up to 12.x and 2009
    CAD format: Dassault CATIA V5
    Supported version: Up to R19
    CAD format: CoCreate OneSpace Designer
    Supported version: V3 to v2008
    CAD format:Siemens NX
    Supported version: Up to NX6
    CAD format: Siemens Parasolid
    Supported version: Up to 19

    No.
Adobe stopped all support for 3D file conversion with the introduction of the Acrobat X Family back in 2010. There have been and will be no further updates to the 3D import functionality. The translation engine that used to be in Pro Extended is now sold as a commercial product by Tetra4D, but it's not compatible with Acrobat 9.

  • Need for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended 64-bit Add-on

Can anyone tell me if this 34 KB add-on is necessary for Acrobat Pro Extended version 9.5.2? Can find no infomation on Adobe's website about it. It was installed with original software on 8/2011.

All I can tell you is it's title in the "Programs and Features" tool of Windows 7. To whit: "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended 64-bit Add-On."  It has an installation date of 8-30-2011 and is only 34KB in size, according to Windows. It is listed below the Main Acrobat 9 Pro program, which doesn't give it's size, but does give the current version of 9.5.2, which is the latest for Acrobat 9 Pro as far as I know.
The one thing I want to establish is whether this add-on is necessary for the current version of Acrobat 9 Pro to function or not. I can find no guidance on Acrobat's website; at least a search reveals nothing anyway. And it is not referenced in their update site at all. If worse comes to worse, I will call them for guidance because our security types are listing it as a problem, and I am wondering if they are confusing this add-on with the main program.
Hope this helps with your knowledge, and thanks for replying.

where can i find a download for acrobat x pro, i lost a hard drive and i am trying to get everything back ?

You will still need your SN. As long as you registered, you can just add a tab in your browser and go to Adobe.com. In the upper right corner there should be a welcome with your name. Move to the small down arrow and select My Products and Services. That should give you your SN of the products that have been registered. Please make a backup of your download and SN for the future. If you had an upgrade version, you will also need the SN of the qualifying product.

  • Issue in Acrobat 9 Pro in Mac OS X

I have trouble with running Acrobat 9 pro in Mac.
While trying to open the application, just opens the menu bar and stops responding within seconds. Tried with various files but make no difference.
I have administrator privilege in the system.
    Distiller works fine.
    Can anybody sort this out.

I have the same problems when using an account where the home directory is on a fileserver. As soon as it's a local account everything works fine. Adobe Reader 9 has the same problem.

  • Need install iso for acrobat 9 pro extended

We have our key, but have lost our disc.  Anyone have the ISO for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended?  All that is listed on the website is the upgrade.  We need the full version installer.
    Thanks.

Some of the older products used to be at ProDesignTools: Adobe® Developments in Focus, but apparently that has ended. If you know of someone local who has the product, you could probably just make a copy of the CD and use that. You will still need your S/N for the install. If you are installing on Win 8, then good luck if you can get a copy of the CD. AA 8 apparently does not work on Win 8 and I don't remember any comments about AA 9 on Win 8 either.
