Form Translation

Hello ppl,
How to use the transaction SE63 to translate a SAPscript from English to Chinese language?
Please help.
Thanks,
david

Hi David,
I believe SE63 is used for language translation of certain objects for abap objects and non abap objects. I havent seen any option for scripts conversion.
If you go to the transaction and see the object type selection, this is where we can do translation for the objects listed there. Please do check.
For scripts you can convert the original language of scripts in the se71 menu itself, I guess you are aware of this.

Narendra.

  • Adobe Form Translation error Omitted Objects (Could not be Converted)

    Hi,
I am new to this forum. I have an issue with Adobe form Translation. Through SE63 (or through the form translation itself) , whenever I try to translate into any language it gives me an error "  Omitted Objects (Could not be Converted)". And the translation doesnt get saved. I tested with other forms and the translation works perfectly fine. Its the problem only with this particular form. In fact any change gives error. For e.g. I copy the English the translation to the Greek or the Hungarian one, and if I delete a character and save it it gives me an error.
Please help me if you have faced similar issues have any knowledge about it.
    Thanks in advance
    Shivam

    Hi David,
Thanks for answering my query. I had installed a new patch and even that did not work. However I managed to make it work. I dont know if its the correct way but it worked for me. On furthur analyses I found out that the problem was with XML tags. This was throwing an error. Also, on looking at the translations I Observed that there were few close tags "</trans-unit> " which had no open "<trans-unit>" for them. I simply deleted the extra close tags and the translation worked fine after that.
Point to be noted is that the extra tags were not there in the original english translation. They only appeared when I tried to change the Greek or Hungarian translation and saved them.
    Hope it helps anybody.
    Thanks.

  • How can i find the adobe form translations

    Hi Friends,
how can i find the adobe form translations?
i mean i want to know in how many languages my adobe form has been translated?
is their any report or is their any technique to find the translations........................
    Thanks,
    Harish.K

    Hello Harish,
To find the translation of Adobe form is nothing but to find the labels or texts used in this adobe form in various languages. This will give you an idea on how many languages your adobe form has been translated.
So to find the translations in different languages, you have to go to Context node of the Adobe form. Then go through the text nodes which are used as labels. These will be normally stored as Standard texts in SO10.
For example. Take the text name of any one text node.
    1) Go to SE38.
    2) Type program RSTXTRAN.
    3) Let the Text key - object be TEXT.
    4) Then enter this text name in the field Text key - name. I have put the sample standard text ZTEST_ADOBE as shown below.
    5) Let the Text key - ID be ST.
    6) In Text key - language, Enter *  (i.e enter the Asterisk) because you want to find out all the languages.
The screen parameters will be as shown below.
    7) Now Execute this report.
    8) It will show all the various languages in which this particular standard text is used which is nothing but the Adobe form is being used in these many languages. For example, the standard text ZTEST_ADOBE is used in 3 languages, English, German and Spanish as shown below. It will look as shown below.
Note: This will give you the more or less the overall idea of the form that has been used in these many languages. But also make sure the standard text with particular language is also linked with the Transport Request. Because there are chances that the text was created in a particular language but was never used.

  • Form translation to Japanese - baseline shift

    Dear All,
I have a big problem with interactive forms. I developed a PO form for a Japanese company in English. When I transate it and use Kanji characters in the translation the baseline of these characters is about one line below where they should be. I use Arial fonts at the form development and the ADS changes it to MS Mincho or MSP Gothic. These two character set was also installed to the ADS font directory. Is it possible to use one form for the English and Japanese version of the form or I have to develop another form to the Japanese form and set the baseline of all the characters? Does anybody have experience in this issue? Has anybody developed PDF-based form in Japanese language?
    BR,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
I faced exactly the same while adapting the standard PO-form.
    Here's the solution:
If you copied the standard PO-form you'll probably find the following tag in your form's XML:
    <?originalXFAVersion http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-template/2.1/?>
    You should replace it by
    <?originalXFAVersion http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-template/2.2/?>
Alternatively you can also check the compytibility settings in Lifecycle designer:
Menu "Edit/Form properties" switch to tab Compatibility:
Update textformatting and event model to the recommended version using the two buttons there.
This should actually do the job.
    regards

  • PDF-based forms + translations

    Hi All,
I have created one form with SFP and English language for Order confirmation.
Now I need to translate this forms for ALL languages. I have started with German - DE language in SE63 transaction.
I have created also one Order confirmation in German - DE language.
Problem: my translation words not happen.
    Any solution/idea for this problem??
    Regards,
    Anabela Moreira

    That's nice.
I found interesting feature (or bug) that can help translators.
E.g. you have form in English. You have translated it into Russian.
If after translation of the form you login in SAP using target language (Russian) and open form in SFP transaction and try to edit it system says that current language is not the same as original language of the form bla-bla-bla. If you select to use original language system shows you all text in the original language (English). But! If you open the form not in edit, but in view mode than all translation is visible.
    Maybe it could help.
And just for reference of future users here are some examples of calling form with language parameters.
    * For American English (locale enUS)
    gs_docparams-langu = 'E'.
    gs_docparams-country = 'US'.
    * For GB English (locale enGB)
    gs_docparams-langu = 'E'.
    gs_docparams-country = 'GB'.
    * For Russia (locale ruRU)
    gs_docparams-langu = 'R'.
    gs_docparams-country = 'RU'.
    * Now call the generated function module
    call function gv_fm_name
      exporting
        /1bcdwb/docparams  = gs_docparams
      importing
        /1bcdwb/formoutput = gs_result
      exceptions
        usage_error        = 1
        system_error       = 2
        internal_error     = 3
        others             = 4.
In case if these parameters are omitted system uses login language.

  • Smart Form translation

I have a Smart Form with original language EN, and several translated languages not including RU. I need to add the Russian translation. I got into SE63 and called up the form by name under Translation, Long texts, SAPscript, Smart Forms. I got message SKTY 213 "Invalid codepage for language Russian". So then I tried logging on in Russian and doing the same thing. This time I got message SKTU 201 "[form name] does not contain any text".
So my question is: How can I get into the split screen translation editor on a Smart Form to add a target language doesn't exist in the form yet, and that is a different code page from the one used with an English SAP session? Is there a way to copy all the English text elements into a new Russian version, and then just type Russian contents over each one?

    Hello Robert,
you should post this question in the Output Management Forum.

  • Adobe Form Translation : Text Fields

    Hi All,
I am trying to translate Type : Textfield in Adobe using SE63.
Type: Text  is translated but not Type : TextField.
any suggestion why this is not happening or is this the  way SAP is built for Translations in Adobe forms.
    Thanks,
    Tk.

You can have translation for adobe forms in sfp itself,
In Menu Bar > Goto> Translation...

  • Forms Translation Question/ Mech Eng drowning in IT world

    Hello,
I am interning in foreign country right now and have been assigned the task of figuring out how to change a database tool into a multilingual tool.
Some stipulations of the process include:
--One .fmb for all languages.(utilize different .fmx files)
--They want to translate the strings automatically instead of manually because there are very very many things to translate.
I have been looking at the Oracle Translation Builder, Oracle Translation Manager, and TranslationHub. I don't know if these have the required functionality.
Would any of these packages or any others fulfill the required needs?
Excuse my ignorance, this assignment is totally out of my area.
    Ciao, Grazie,
    Karl

I never used this tool, but maybe it works, here's the description, what it does:
    1. What is OTM ?
Oracle translation manager, included in Developer/2000, is a translation tool
that is very usefull when one has to develop multi-lingual applications using
Developer/2000. OTM 2.5 has specifically been designed to provide a solution
for translating the user interface of Forms, Reports and Graphics, but it can
also be used to translate plain text files. In an efficient and cost effective
way OTM allows to translate text components of these applications from its
original language into different other languages.

  • Upgrade translation hub for 9.0.4 to 10.1.2 and keep forms translations

We are upgrading a forms application (Developer suite and application server) from 9.0.4 to 10.1.2.
The problem is I can not seem to get translation hub to upgrade and keep our forms module translations.
Translation hub needs to upgrade to version 381 from version 380 and does this itself with its own utility but creates a new project for forms 10 and keeps the old on labelled as forms 9.
If I try and import the forms 9 form into forms 10 and send to translation project it does not use the translations from the forms 9 project.
    Any help ?
    Thanks
    Dave

You could do both, as workflow can be installed separately but I would advise to look into BPEL in order to substitue workflow. Have a look at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/cs/developer/contentservicesdev/contenservicesdevkit.html

  • Adobe form translations

    Hi,
I have translated adobe form from English to French, however when i execute function module by passing language as 'FR' it is still showing in English only. what could be the reason??
and also when i open the same form in DE language i don't see any layout it is almost empty, do i need to anything here.

Hi - Same EN to FR translation not working.
I am creating froms in 100 client and then testing in 200 client.
Initially I was seeing English texts when I executed in client 200 with logon language as FR.
I observed I had the below error in SE63 long text Translation screen "Omitted Objects (Could not be Converted):" with Yellow warning.
SE63 -> Long Texts -> Objname = form name -> EN to US -> EDIT -> CHange the english texts to French texts -> and save ->
Omitted Objects (Could not be Converted):"  is seen and you will remain in the same screen how many times we save.
This happens when I save after making the Translations and save.
Then I implemented notes 1488663 & 1552974 Notes.( Kranthi - you may check these forms )
Sometimes now translation works and sometimes it does not.
Repeating the changing the texts to FR and saving - When luckily Translations got saved one time - I logged into FR language and displayed the form in SFP  and checked the layout - all texts seen in FR . but when I executed the form from the same screen ( SFP ) - surprisingly I see english texts.
after repeated executions - Suddenly I say French texts appearing.
Then I found one Text still in english,
When I goto SE63 and change it - surprisingly now I see the same error again "Omitted Objects (Could not be Converted):".
I am not sure the note 1552974 really works removing the additional </trans-unit> - becuase I see so many of them even now.
I also tried executing a standard form from SFP in FR login language. It works fine.it displays all texts in FR.
Not sure why this is not working for Cusotm developed forms.

  • Form translation problem

    Hi experts,
    I'm having the following problem:
I created an Interactive Form in WDA. The default language is 'enUS'. I want to translate the form to other languages, so I selected 'goto'-->'translation' and selected nlNL (dutch) as target language. After translating the XDP file I save it.
The problem is that when I test my WDA application in Dutch, the text is still in English. When I go back to the translation tool I can see that my translation has been saved properly. The only thing that's weird is that the 'status' icon shows me a yellow triangle. But then again, there is no explanation at all why it is yellow.
After all, I'm stuck in the dark. I did what I had to do, there are no error messages but still it will not work. I'm on SAP_BASIS release 7.00 SP12.
    Can you help me?
    Greetings,
    Edwin

i think problem is related to character set of chinese language, because all the button size is also increased in screen, that's why in smartform also values are printing in other column overlaping.
please can someone explain me how character set is related to this and solution to my problem.
    thanks

1294146 - Problem translating rich texts in PDF based forms (Adobe)
Message was edited by: Manish Kumar

    HI Lande,
There is nothing to delete. Here is what you should do:
Following procedure applies to both symptoms:
    1. Open the corresponding form in the original language in change mode in Form Builder
    2. Choose the Layout tab of Form Builder to open the form layout in Adobe Designer.
    3. Identify and select the concerned text element in the layout so that it will be highlighted in the hierarchy tree of the Adobe Designer
    4. Go to the XML Source tab of the Adobe Designer
The XML source shows the section of the selected form element.
         5. Go to the appropriate <exData/> element and delete the occurrence of attributes
         xft-xliff:id or xliff:rid
    6. Leave the XML source tab and save the changes.
    7. Activate the form.

  • Adobe Form translation in to different languages

    Hi All,
Can you please guide me through the procedure/process of "how to translate Adobe forms in to a different languages".
    Thanks.

There are two methods to translate any Adobe form.
    First method :
    login to the target language
Go to SFP --> enter the form name
    Click on Change
    Click on Goto -> translation
Original language will be autopopulated. Enter the target language in which you want the texts to be translated into., eg FR (French) and enter
You will see the tree for translation objects. Expand the package name and then PDFB. Under PDFB you will find your form name --> Double Click.
A translation editor will open up.
Navigate to Object Menu --> Copy Source text.
The entire XML for the form will be copied in the target language window with all static text literals highlighted in blue.
Replace the english text (blue text) with the French text ( target language text) and save.
Thats all. The form will be now translated, run the application and provide the target language in the URLis the target language.. sap-language=FR
    Also there is Second method.:
1)You have to create the form in target language and attach in webdynpro layout as your original language
2)In the context of the view define two new attributes (VISIBILE and VISIBILE_FR ) with type as "WDUI_VISIBILITY"
3 )Now in webdynpro layout attach this form same as your English form and bind the visible property of interactive forms( both EN and FR form)  with the VISIBILE and VISIBILE_FR   attributes respectively.
    4) Now through any initial method you can set the value of VISIBILE =u2019 02 u2018and VISIBILE_FR =u2019 01u2019 for English form to visible and vice versa for Fr form
    Choose the convenient option .

I need to translate some fixed text that I've in my AdobeForm Layout. I followed word by word what is suggested in the official guide ( http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/8b/4f52cc3b104d0585e2f0ad354fb029/frameset.htm ) but when I save my modifications in the SE63 editor I get this warning message:

and my translation is not saved. Can anyone help me?

I am now creating an adobe form (billing document) in English and I will be needing to have the same form in the Russian language. I have already followed the steps in Link:[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/8b/4f52cc3b104d0585e2f0ad354fb029/frameset.htm]

  • Java error when running Forms -Translate Utilty

    Hello everybody,
I have some forms developed with Developer Suite 10g and WebUtil 1.6 that I ran with trace option. Enabling trace option in forms implies the creation of binary files with the name forms_processId in the forms trace server (example: forms_3528.trc). In order to visualize this binary file I have to convert them to .xml or .html file using the Translate Utility (a forms utility based on java).
My Oracle Developer Home is D:\DevSuiteHome_1. The .trc files are located in folder D:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\trace.
Here there are the steps I followed in dos command window:
    D:\>SET CLASSPATH=D:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\java\frmxlate.jar; D:\DevSuiteHome_1\forms\java\frmall.jar;D:\DevSuiteHome_1
    D:\> CD DevSuiteHome_1\forms\trace
    D:\>java oracle.forms.diagnostics.Xlate datafile=forms_3528.trc outputfile=myfile.xml outputclass=WriteOut
Obs: Param datafile shows the file I want to translate, parameter outputfile is the name of the translated file (.xml or .html). Parameter outputclass shows the type of file into which I want to translate my .trc file (WriteOut for a .xml file, WriteOutHTML for a .html file).
Here it is the result I got:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException

    at oracle.forms.diagnostics.Xlate.main(Unknown Source)
I'm not at all familiar with java...What does this exception mean? What did I do wrong?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    thank you
    daniela

FYI Update: It appears that the Xlate utility is choking on events 3 (Error messages on the status bar) and/or 1 (Error during open form) that now occur in our custom login form since applying patch 3. Examining the xlate output in debug mode, after processing these events, the next EventID shows a value >20,000--clearly either the file data is corrupted or the input data stream becomes misaligned at that point.
Therefore it is an issue between the trace and the xlate class, NOT patch 3 per se.
The error itself has no effect to the user and we can work around the trace translation issue by simply excluding these events.
