  • Forms Standard Canvas/Window Sizes for

    Hello:
    What are the standard sizes of Window and Canvas for Oracle Forms to run on 1024/768 Pixel or higher resolution? We like to size the screens such a way that the users can see the whole Form Window/Canvas in both Client Server as well as Browser Based (deployed using Application Server).
    Thanks

    Steve's values were the sizes for the web-application.
    I myself test this so:
    I have a parameter-table with width and height. The WHEN-WINDOW-ACTIVATED trigger gets this parameters and resizes the window.
    Now I change the values of the 2 parameters in the db with Oracle Raptor (e.g.) and after that I return in my runform - the trigger fires and resizes the window to the new parameters.
    If you found the 2 parameters for your environment, you should place them for example in property classes in a reference template. All your new forms then reference this properties and so all your forms have the same layout.
    that's it

  • Relationship between Form, Datablock, Canvas

    What is the relationship between these items?
    Since now, to me, a form seems to be synonymous with canvas. As for datablock, i dont know what this is. It seems to be a collection of fields.
    Would anyone care to clarify?

    A datablock is a collection of fields. If not associated with a database table, it is called a control block, and all the fields in the block are used for miscellaneous purposes within the form.
    When the datablock is associated with a database table, it is called a base-table block. Most of the fields in the block represent columns in the table, but you CAN include non-database-table fields too. When you issue a query, Forms automatically retrieves the columns from the database table, and displays the data from the columns in the fields in the block.

    Good morning,
    Here is an [url http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS2LCR/Flash_10.0/help.html?content=00000520.html]ASCII Key Chart that I have used. It has the return codes for the 10-key pad among other keys. I have found it useful in several cases.

  • Faded background image in forms 9i canvas ...!

    I am working in Forms 9i Version 9.0.2.9.0. While importing gif image on canvas, the image displayed as faded image and it seems more blur /faded /dim when this form is running in internet explorer editor /environment.
    On the other hand, when I paste /import the bmp file /image, it seems fine /better but due to heavy size of bmp image, the loading time /speed of that particular form is too much slow. So that’s why I want to import only gif image instead of bmp file /image because of its lesser sized.
    Tell me, by which method I could get the better result (more prompt /sharp /visible) of gif image for forms 9i background /canvas?
    Waiting for urgent and prompt solution please...
    Thanks and regards,
    Farhan Mazhar

    Farhan,
    even if adding the image as a bmp, it is streamed as a jpg image. The conversion is performed by Forms internally.

  • Adobe LiveCycle Forms Versus Adobe Document Services

    I've read in the "Best Practices for Improving Performance in Dynamic PDF Forms" that Adobe LiveCycle Forms can explicitly off-load the job of rendering a form onto Adobe Reader.
    My question is, "Can Adobe Document Services do the same?" ADS is for users working in a SAP environment but it's suppose to have the same functionality as "Adobe LiveCycle Forms", so I'm hoping we'll be able to do this.

    Well, I know it's possible, but I have no idea how you would do it in that environment. You may want to speak to your SAP support guys for that.

  • Synchronization Policy Input Form versus Meta View Active Sync

    In IdM 7.1, the Resources/ Active Sync Resource/ Edit Synchronization Policy provides options for Input Form under the Common Settings section. If the Active Sync application is enabled on the Meta View Identity attributes page, the Input Form option on the Edit Synchronization Policy becomes disabled, and shows a statement MetaView will be used to handle detected changes for this resource
    I have logic to set IAPI.cancel based on certain conditions in my Synchronization Policy Input Form. Where does this type of logic go if Meta View is turned on for Active Sync?

    Hi,
    the installer jar is a jar file that needs to be un-jarred, usually by double clicking the jar file. Once you (install) un-jar the
    1) For example, if you download the latest solutions catalog from
    https://blueprints.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=4144&expandFolder=4144&folderID=0
    you will download bpcatalog-ee5-ea-0.6-installer.jar
    2) then you have to install/unjar it
    To Install: Double-click the jar file bpcatalog-ee5-ea-0.6-installer.jar, or run 'java -jar bpcatalog-ee5-ea-0.6-installer.jar'
    3)This creates a folder bpcatalog-ee5-ea-0.6/ which has the contents of the blueprints solutions catalog, including the JSF component libraries.
    4) then if you want to use a JSF component library such as bp-ui-14.jar which contains the calendar component, then move/copy the bp-ui-14.jar to your application that you want to us it in.
    Then you use it like any JSF component library (see the links I put on previous posting if need more detail on that)
    I think the confusion you were having is that you were using the installation jar bpcatalog-1.0.1_01-installer.jar instead of the JSF component library bp-ui-14.jar in your app?

  • Adobe Forms ( Lifecycle and cloud Ver) Versus IBM Forms ( FEB and Lotus Forms)

    Can sombody please educate in the advantages offered by Adobe Forms versus IBM Forms? can sombody specifically speak about the following TCO, Usabilty, Security, digital Signatures etc.?

    Dear PAUL....Thanks alot for the directions you gave me, i'm really learning alot from the posts of you an STEFAN CAMERON, and as you said that many databases have a built in web services, i found some .wsdl files within the oracle database directories and i will read how  to use or how to build new one.
    And about the intermeadiary process solution and as i said before that i'm totally new to livecycle designer, do you mean to build two forms one connected to the database and act as a middlware and the other is connected to database through the first?  forgive me for this question ,i'm new to this.
    And away from data connectivity issue i posted  2 discussions at "LiveCycle Designer ES" that confused me  , i'm sure it can be achieved by designer but i don't no how ,one on dealing with dropdown lists & the other on pdf's security and saving . I really appreciate if you and the others can help me with when you have enough time.
    Thanks alot PAUL

  • Forms canvas width vs applet width

    Wondering why it is that a form with canvas/window defined as width 560 (real/pixel coordinate system) only fills 75% of the width of the applet (set to 572 in formsweb.cfg and confirmed thru browser at run-time). Running in 1900x1200 resolution; can someone guess at an explanation ?
    Using forms 10.1.2 now; wasn't having any trouble under 9i in lower resolutions.
    Many thanks.

    Thanks Simon.
    The absence of early feedback suggested it was something to do with my setup; and turned out to be the DPI setting on the Windows PC under Advanced Display. The PC was morphing what it thought to be unreadable content by increasing it by 25%. This was interacting not only with the fonts but also the size of the applet. Design-time pixel settings on window/canvas items weren't lining up with applet configuration parameters etc.
    Updating the DPI setting under Windows back to normal was all I needed.
    Thanks for your support.

  • InfoButton PJC   Demos for Forms (tooltip buttons) - not working

    Hello everybody,
    I am new to using PJC and JavaBeans in forms. I have on my laptop Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2.0.1) and Forms Demos version 9.0.4.2.0 I downloaded from OTN. I studied InfoButton PJC application (buttons that show tool-tips at mouse-over).
    Now, I want to create in one of my old forms such a button. I followed exactly the steps of the demo, that is:
    1. I created a form with a button TEST_BUTTON for which I set the Implementation Class property to oracle.forms.demos.enhancedItems.InfoButton.
    2. On the form's canvas I also created a text item named INFO with the following properties:
    X Position = 255
    Y Position = 107
    Width = 100
    Height = 100
    3. At form level, I created the trigger WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE in order to set the button's properties as follows:
    SET_CUSTOM_PROPERTY('CONTROL.TEST_BUTTON',1,'INFOBUTTON_TEXT','This is the tooltip text');
    SET_CUSTOM_PROPERTY('CONTROL.TEST_BUTTON',1,'INFOBUTTON_FIELDPOS','288,128');
    4. I created in my formsweb.cfg file a configuration section for my form.
    [pjc_demos_dana]
    pageTitle=OracleAS Forms Services - InfoButton Demo Dana
    IE=jinitiator
    baseHTMLJInitiator=demobasejini.html
    archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,/forms/formsdemo/jars/infobutton.jar
    form=pjclaunch_dana.fmx
    width=675
    height=480
    separateFrame=false
    splashScreen=no
    lookAndFeel=oracle
    colorScheme=blue
    background=/formsdemo/images/blue.gif
    When executing the form, the button has round margins as said in the documentation; at mouse over the cursor takes the form of a small hand but there is no tool tip. I receive no errors, only that it doesn't show the tool tip.
    I don't understand why it's not working, what I did wrong ...
    When setting the 'INFOBUTTON_FIELDPOS' property - input parameter X,Y - the documentation says: "This property should be set to a string containing a X,Y comma separated pair providing the location of the target field in pixels relative to the top left hand corner of the window. The X,Y pair simply has to define a point anywhere within the target field, it doesn't have to exactly define the corner".
    What is the target field? The text item I created at step 2)? The documentation is not clear here ...
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Dear Safwan Bhai,
    As salaamo alaikum Rahamatulla hi burakathu!!
    Actually I'm having a multi record block in which all the emp no., days of attendance, etc will be displayed when I click on the search button. My requirement is when point the mouse over the emp no, the emp name must be displayed as a Tool tip text. My fields are non-editable, so Post-Change is not working. I placed the coding in the When-new-item-instance - in this case the emp name is displayed, but only for the first field, when I move the mouse to second and third fields, the empname of that particulart field is displayed as a tool tip but in the first field only.
    Any other suggestions?
    Anyway I would appreciate your help.
    Thank you.
    With Kind Regards,
    Perumal Senthil Alagu.

  • Livecycle Designer v. Omni Form

    I need to know of any possible advantages of using Adobe Livecycle in creating forms versus using Omni form. Can anyone provide me with an objective view? Thanks!

    Well I've never used OmniForm, but I can give some advice as a user of Livecycle Designer.
    I know that Livecycle Designer can make dynamic PDF files meaning that the form fields can expand and contract (and the document along with it) to fit any amount of user input. Omniform can only make static PDF files at this point.
    Livecycle Designer is also a very young program. I've been frustrated many times with it because the interface hasn't been refined, it tends to run slow, and there seems to plenty of bugs left to be worked out. Give it another 3 or 4 years and I'm sure it'll be an excellent program if Adobe stays focused on its development, but at this point I probably wouldn't recommend it unless its necessary to be able to create dynamic PDF files.

  • Forms 6i window scrollbar focus (flickback)

    i have a requirement to make a tall/high dialog style form that can be displayed on different screen resolutions. A scrollbar needs to be used to enable users of lower resolution screens to scroll from the top of the canvas to the bottom (<b>without key press type navigation</b>). The problem is focus flicks back to the last item that had the cursor in it.
    For example:
    in forms 6i (at least) if you create a content canvas that is larger than is able to be displayed on the screen then assign it to a window that has a vertical and/or horizontal (so you can scroll down the oversized canvas) and can be maxmized. Place a text item at the top and a button at the bottom of the canvas. run the form, focus/cursor goes to text item at the top. maximize the window. use the scrollbar to view the button at the bottom....as soon as the mouse leaves the scrollbar and enters the canvas focus flicks back to that part of the canvas containing the text item which has the cursor in it. This makes it impossible to ever get to that button without a key-next-item or other navigational function.
    i have tried many different settings including using a stacked canvas with its own scrollbar and the same thing happens.
    why on earth is this? is there some way to get around this problem - i want the focus to remain in that part of the canvas that the scrollbar was used to view.
    any assistance would be appreciated.
    regards
    ps: i have not been able to locate any related discussions on this point.

    i have found a workaround, albeit not enormously satisfactory.
    The MDI window scrollbar does not seem to have this flick back problem, just forms defined canvas and form window scroll bars (at least) do. Therefore, so as long as the over-high (or over-wide) form is in a window that is Document Style (meaning it is affected by the MDIs scrollbar - unlike DIALOG style windows) then an overlarge "dialog style" called form can be scrolled down via the MDI scroll bar.
