Form "window" Menu changed after Migration

Hi All,
I have migrated form 6i to 10g.After migration the forms WINDOW menu contain a menu item (which is a radio button ) called FILLER_WINDOW.
Client wants to disable this menu item.
Can i disable it?

Window size issues after migrating for 15 to 13

I have moved from a 15 inch MBP to a 13 and some of applications have kept the same settings from the previous computer. For the most part this is great but some windows are too big for the display eg itunes. I cannot get at the resize bit on the window and the green + is not helping. Is there a shortcut or menu that will help me get the window the right size.

Head to the "Windows" menu in iTunes and click on "Zoom", Will. The same applies in most other properly written applications for the Mac.

ARD has no windows or menus after migration

After using Migration Assistant to move from a MBP Core 2 Duo machine to a MBP i7 machine, ARD opens with no windows and all the menus are grayed out. Usually when I migrate, ARD asks to have the serial number reentered but there was no request or option to do so this time. I have removed the plist and ARD app, then reinstalled, but the same thing happens.
Any ideas?

Right click menu changes after error: possible bug

SQL Developer 1.1.2.25 build 25.79. This problem is reproducible everytime.
01. Connect to any database.
02. In the SQL window, run any query like
select 'alter '||object_type||' '||owner||'.'||object_name||' compile;' from dba_objects where status='INVALID' and owner='XYZ';
Craft the query to return some rows.
03. In the results window, right click the result set and choose Export Data->TEXT.
04. SQL Developer will generate an error:ora-00972 identifier is too long.
05. Click Ok to close the error box.
06. Modify the query to include an alias:
select 'alter '||object_type||' '||owner||'.'||object_name||' compile;' as x from dba_objects where status='INVALID' and owner='XYZ';
Run the query to generate rows.
07. In the result window, right click the records. The right click menu will change. the Export Data option is no longer available.
Since the problem is repeatable, it might be a bug.

Parameter Form look & Fee changed after upgrading to the Oracle Reports 11g

We are using Oracle Database 11g, with Oracle Forms and Reports 11g.
We are in the process of migration our customized application from Oracle Forms 6i to Oracle Forms 11g, during migration we have faced a problem regarding the look and feel of reports parameter form,
We have almost 700 reports and 300 out of them are calling with report parameter form = yes,
When we call any report that is using Report Parameter Form, we have found that the look and feel completely changed, although it is acceptable for us as we have standardized the parameter form, with default layout, but the only problem is that, we are unable to fixed the length of any field having LOV, i.e. we have a field, that is showing Department Name, having Select DeptId, DeptName from Departments order by 1 and we have set the Hide First Column, when we call the report the length of this field systematically increased according to the biggest Department Name (Department Name having the highest number for characters), we want to fix the length of every parameter to a certain size,
Would gurus please advice?

I have seen this problem.
I assume that Apex 4 do not give fxx name to items anymore in order where columns are in query.
This is one of reasons why we have not been yet able to upgrade.
And it seems this same problem exists in Apex 4.1 on apex.oracle.com

Form element id changed after upgrading from APEX 3.2.1 to 4.0.2

We are in the process of testing an upgrade of our APEX 3.2.1 app to 4.0.2. The production database was exported, imported as a new database, and then upgraded to 4.0.2. I've noticed that on pages where we have coded our own PL/SQL process in place of the built-in MRU, the form element id (referenced using g_fxx) has changed. For example, in our existing production system, the id for the first row of data is f06_0001, but when we look at the same page in APEX 4.0 environment, the element id has changed to f08_0001. Is this a known issue when performing an upgrade? Has anyone else experienced this?

Satellite C875 : Windows reverting changes after update to Windows 8.1

For days now with no success, I have been trying to update from Windows 8 (64 bits) to Windows 8.1 a Satellite C875-153 (PSCBCE-03H002FR)
I am opening a new thread as none of the available threads on this forum have helped me nor my researched on the web.
*1st error* - which I was able to "sort of" figure out is:
-> *Windows 8.1 update fails with error message 0xC1900101 - 0x30018*
I have followed every steps, in the proper order, of this Toshiba guide, but it didn't help fixing the error:

I then followed recommendation from this thread and was "temporaly" able to update OS to Win 8.1:

The step that worked for me was to remove network cable while installing windows 8.1 as suggested by user "RandyRoberts".
*2nd error:*
*-> Windows 8.1 hangs and system tried to revert changes back to Windows 8*
By unplugging the network cable, I was able to complete the update of Windows 8.1 and run it temporaly.
As soon as I replug the network cable and reconnect to the web, the computer hangs and restarts.
I suppose Windows 8.1 is trying to check the licence status and then refuse to activate it.
Windows ends up trying to revert changes and go back to Windows 8.
It hangs at restart and refuses to reload previous OS (Windows 8), leaving me on a screen with couple options. At this point I can only recover the factory image to be able to restart the system.
These steps have been performed on a freshly reinstalled OS with no additionnal softwares.
All updates and steps have been followed and recheck several times. I am runnning last BIOS available.
I have already saved all my data and burned the recovery disks .

the user harrie_1 were able to update to the Win 8.1 and the update procedure went smoothly.
I dont know exactly why this workaround did not function in your case but I would recommend you to start the procedure once again and follow the update as described by harrie_1 user

Runnig forms in oracle 10g after migrating them from oracle 6i

Guyz ....i have developed forms in oracle 6i and when i presented them to the my manager he says that he wants them to be web based.....arghhhh.!!!!!! shud have told me at the beginning itself....anyways i downloaded the forms 10g from oracle website and migrates my forms from 6i to 10g ....
1.The forms are getting compiled and i can run them on my laptop.. i wanna noe whats the procedure to run them on other system .....the port number is 8889
I mean running them on a web on some other LP or system.???
2.And my 2nd problem is that ...The records are not being saved in 10g as in 6i. I created the forms in 6i using the data block wizard and set the block accordingly as told by u people in this forum

Look at the existing formsweb.cfg configuration file located in your <DEVSUITE_HOME>/forms/server folder. It allows you to create different sections to start your Forms applications.
For instance, if you create a application_1 section, give this name in your URL.

Keeping menu change after release

Hi, I did the tutorial for an advanced website:

and applied it to my own design. However, I would like to make the following change: when a certain page is loaded (home, about me, contacts), I want the menu button to remain highlighted (black tint and underlined) as long as the page shows, so the user knows at any time where (s)he is by looking at the menu buttons. At the moment, the highlighting action (black tint on text and underline) on the menu buttons happens only on mouse release, but does not stay.

The "home" button is locked and maintaines its animated state (Hooray!!), but the previous menu item that was selected remains in the selected state until I hover with the mouse on it (which makes sense considering the above script). Now, how do I tell Flash that on(release), I want the previously selected menu item to play, so that the selected state changes to normal. My hierarchie is this:
root --> menu_mc (contains all the invisble buttons and movie clips) --> home_mc / contact_mc / about me_mc (these are the movie clips I want to target and make the previously selected play in order to return to non-selected state).

Dynamic form font color changes after saving

I have a dynamic form that before the user clicks inside a textfield ghost text appearance is set to red once the user starts typing I have an event set to turn the font to black.
The problem is, once form is saved and reopened the font color is red instead of black. How can I get the font color to remain black?
I am thinking that script should be in the PreSave event if so, please provide an example of how it should be written.

for the ghost text (tool tip) I have set an initialize event: (by the way I did choose the color red for the font in the color picker for the tooltip color)

Oracle seeded form color got changed after registration of a custom form

Hi,
I have register a custom form in Oracle apps 11i.
Custom form is opening properly but when we are navigating to open the oracle standard form, oracle standard form is coming completely black.
Could you please through some light on it. It would be great help.

Sounds like your new form was not based on the EBS template.fmb so your new form has a different color pallet. When developing for the EBS, you should always use the template.fmb as the starting point for any new form. To fix this, I recommend you open the template.fmb and your new form and then copy all of the objects from your new form into the template.fmb and then save the template.fmb as your new form. You could change the color pallet, but there may be other things your new form is missing so it would be best to start with the template.fmb. This will ensure you have all of the default triggers and libraries attached that an EBS form should have. :)

Computer name change after migration

I did a software migration from my macbook to my new iMac. Everything went great except the migration named the new iMac "macbook", the name I used on the macbook. I went to system pref. and did the name change to iMac24 and that works fine for sharing on the local network. However, on the Finder the name of the new computer at Home is still "Macbook", the migrated name. Kinda confusing when looking at the Finder pane, two Macbooks show up, one under shared and one under places.
Also tried to change the name of the Home at the Mac HD but was told couldn't be done.
Is there anyway to change the name of the Home file or am I stuck with Macbook as the name for my iMac?

The Home name I presume is your "short" name.
You can change the short name in Accounts by unlocking the padlock and right-clicking the Account and selecting Advanced Options.
Pleased note the Warning and the required reboot.
I suggest being sure your backup is up-to-date before changing the short name.

SAP extract to Excel changed after migration from ECC5 to ECC6

Hi everyone,
This issue is about getting a proper table when displaying SAP reports in Excel. When extracting to Excel, the data base is presented with summary yellow lines whereas we would rather have a regular table without subtotal. This issue appeared when the system was migrated from ECC5 to ECC6. Please notice that one of the user has currently a proper display. Do you know which parameter shall we change?

With KSB1 I see it direct without sub totals and saving.
Click on spreatsheet

User mail had date changes after migrating to dovecot

I upgraded from 10.5.8 Server to Snow Leopard last week. A few problems occurred during the migration:
1) Permissions to the /var/spool/imap/dovecot/mail/ were read only
and
2) Many random email messages had their date stamp changed to November 2020. Some users had a few, others had thousands.
I've since repaired the permission issue, but is there a way to fix the date stamp? If you open the email it displayed the date correctly.

I saw the same problem and manually reimported all of my mail stores since it was down and I caught it soon enough to not make a difference. There is a problem with how Setup Buddy does the importing. I found the directions in the migration guide to manually bring it over. Page 42 of the PDF.

BPS Layouts color changes after migration to BI 7

Hello everybody
We upgraded to BI 7 and almost all our BPS layouts have adopted funky colors. They can not be changed either.
Example: Header and Display lines are now pink and results line are bright yellow.
Anyone experienced this ?

I opened a message at SAP and here is their answer but I have not had time to come back to this yet. It may or may not solve the problem.
The problem can be that, your master template is corrupt. Please read
the notes 574240, 428092. Get the master template and replace it
with the signed one as explained in the notes, this should resolve your
issue.
And the first meesage reply from SAP prior to the above one:
Steps :
Goto to the Third screen of the layout in change mode.
Select the whole layout.
Select the tab 'Format'.
Under format => option 'cells' => pattern.
In pattern, u can change the color here, or u can select no color and
keep the general format for layout display.
For more details, i would ask you to refer to the online documentation
for SEM-BPS -> Manual planning -> Planning layout -> Formatting the
planning layout.
