Format bar is tiny. I can hardly see it

The format bar is so small I have to peer closely at my screen to see it. How can I make it bigger?

As far as I know, from the app itself you can't.
The available settings apply on the document itself, not on the toolbar.
If your display offer this feature, you may reduce the used resolution so the glyphs would appear larger.
You may also enter the "Universal Access" System Preference and activate the zoom feature.
Maybe you simply need new glasses

Which way are you trying to update - iTunes or WiFi in the iPad settings? Try switching from one method to the other method. If you don't have a computer and need to use WiFi, try closing all apps and then reboot your iPad and try again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of all of the apps in the recents tray. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar when you are done.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
It wouldn't hurt to reboot your router either by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds, plug it back in, let it fully start up and then try to update again.

My file names have disappeared in grid view. Thery have been replaced with a dark bar along the bottom of the previews. If I toggle using the command u it hide the bar but I still can't see the file name. In list view all the file names are OK.

The dark bar is caused by the option "Show metadata below image".
Check the settings for the metadata overlays in Grid view (basic and expanded) by clicking the little "badge" icon below the Browser and selecting "Edit". Is the filename still enabled in the list? And in a high enough position to have precedence for other metadata tags, if the space does not suffice to show all selected tags?

I can hardly see calendar alerts on macbook. How do I get it back to where I can easily see them?

I have a macbook pro 17" bought in 2011 running OS X Yosemite Processor 2.3GHZ Intel Core i7, Memory 8GB 1333MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 3000 512MB.
For the last two days my calendar alerts and notifications are appearing so light that I can hardly see them. How do I get them to show up so I can see them? I have no idea how this started. I have tried looking at Notification Center on System Preferences and changed them from Alert to Banner but it made no difference.

With respect, you actually cannot store folders on the left side of the Dock - only on the right side. I wonder if you're talking about Launchpad, which looks like a silver rocket and shows you your installed applications? It's not actually a shortcut to the Applications folder, though. You can certainly drag Launchpad into the left side of the Dock from the Applications folder.

If not successful then try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults.
If still the problem that indicates a hardware problem. Likely the backlight or its driver circuits and service is necessary.

My bookmark seperators in a newer version of Firefox are too light. I seem to remember in older versions they were much darker. How can I make them dark again. Now I can hardly see the seperator.

The separator lines are so faint as to be not there, giving the impression of just a big gap in the menu being displayed.

After installing lightroom 4 and cs6 extended from a disk on a new lap top everything is very small. I can hardly see any tools or text.

I changed the background picture, which is a dark pink flower, now the folders have become solid pink! Not esthetically pleasing

Can you change colours for events to make them darker. I can hardly see them in year veiw.

How do you make the colours for events in my calendar darker. With the up grade to Yosemite the colours in my year view are so light I can hardly see them.

i wanted to know the same thing, as wanted to change some of the dates to red, but also because it accidently imported birthdays from address book and all of the birthdays came up in red. so maybe if you want to change one or two dates to red maybe christmas day. you make a contact and set the birthday to 25th December and the date will go red.

You can't - Photoshop CS5.5 is much older than the high res display on your laptop.
UI Scaling at 200% was added as a feature in Photoshop CC 2014, and will scale for your new high res display.

Scroll bar on Start screen can hardly be seen, too small/low opacity

a vertical scroll bar on Start screen which appears by left-click on Start Menu/Button, is vague. i.e. too smal/low opacity.
I hope it will be able to be seen easily.
[note] scroll bar is invisible on the above screen shot (actually it can be seen, but too vague)

HELP! I can hardly see my online videos!

Flash Player does not control the video brightness. This
brighness and contrast is first determined when the video is
produced, and after that through monitor / screen settings. Is this

Some people have said that restoring has helped. Others had to go to the Apple Store. What you can try to do is hold the home + sleep button until it reboots.

The font in my hotmail inbox is so small I can hardly see it. This just happened with the newer version of Firefox. The font in internet explorer is fine. Can you help me enlarge it?
