Format bar missing Wrap

My format bar is missing icons.  Anyway to reset it or put wrap back onto the format bar?

The format bar is context sensitive.
If there is an object able to force wrap somewhere in the document, the Wrap icon is available :
If there is no such object, the app don't display the useless icon.
Just matter of best use of the space available.

  • Quickaccess and Formatting bar both missing in 7.2

I was wondering if anyone had encountered this before:
I just recently re-installed FrameMaker 7.2 on a XP SP2 machine and I am unable to get both the Quickaccess and Formatting bar to display. Both are set to "on" in the .ini files and when I try to access them under View nothing happens at all. Any ideas?

    Thanks, Sheila,
I actually thought about that last night after I posted this. I'll give it a try and let you know. I am expecting that might not be the case, however, because the check mark never shows up for the bars in question under view and I seem to recall that happening before when they were active?
To answer your question about the 2 maker.ini files, yes I checked the one in documents and settings and the one in program files.
Thanks for your help so far.

  • Where is the Format Bar in 5.0?

Where is the Format Bar in Pages 5.0?  It would also appear that some of the tools such as list styles that were formerly available are missing as well.

You can archive (compress) Pages 5 after exporting all the files back to Pages '09.
I suggest rating/reviewing Pages 5 in the App Store, to slowly hammer home the message to an Apple that is largely deaf to its users.
Apple may be regretting its own reviewing system, as users tell it just how much they hate what it has done.

  • Firefox blocks email features when using dotEasy email. The formatting bar is not available when trying to write a text. If I open dotEasy in Chrome it works fine. Why?

I'm using Windows XP. When opening dotEasy.com with Mozilla Firefox and password into my account, the email account opens but the formatting bar is missing. When I open dotEasy with Chrome, it works. Why?

You can try to modify the user agent to Firefox/9.0.2 in case it fails on browser detection.

    *User Agent Switcher: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/
If that works then you can contact the website to inform them that they need to revise their browser detection code.

  • Format Bar inquiry

I am new to Apple and iWorks. I just bought a used PowerBook G4 with 12.1" screen for use at school. I am using Numbers '09. Each time it opens up, the format bar is so long that it is off of the screen. Can I adjust the format bar to show the whole format bar on my 12.1" screen? Or, is that a future feature in Numbers '10? Thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple forums
Unfortunately, the format bar cannot be edited at all, only the tool bar can.
Or, is that a future feature in Numbers '10?
Anyone who knows if it will be in the next version, whatever the name, is under an Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) & can't say. I certainly hope the ability to change the size of the icons have it wrap to a second line does happen. I suggest you leave feedback for the Numbers team regarding this. You can find it under the Numbers menu > Provide Numbers Feedback. That takes you to the same page as this link.

  • Format Bar Kluge

So... am I the only one whose format bar in all of the iWork apps seems to be missing something? What surprises me most is that the toolbar is not missing it.
If you haven't guessed already, I'm referring to how when a window is sized narrower than the items on the toolbar, it allows access to the unseen items, while the format bar shows only ellipses but offers no drawer or pulldown menu. Instead, in order to access these items I must resize the window. And this is most disappointing because I love iWork most for its clean look and simplicity, yet to have access to the entire format bar I must resize the window to wider than my word processing page. Granted this is not a major issue, but it seems too obvious a mistake not to have corrected in an update.... Am I missing something??

Yes this has been noticed before.
It is on the wish list here:

Maybe I'm a bit more critical of Pages than you.
I could go into great length about Pages lack of simplicity and often silly and inconsistent GUI.

  • What happened to Format Bar:  "Dividing text into columns"

This function is in the manual under "Working with Text" but it does not appear in the Format Bar.  What am I missing?

    E. Seagull,
The Format Bar is a Contextual Menu. As you know, that means that it only shows the controls that pertain to the current situation. If you aren't working in a Text Box or Shape that might need to be divided into columns, the columns control will be available, otherwise it will not.
I hope that you referring to the way text winds itself from column to column, like in a newspaper, and not the entirely different concept of parsing a long string into multiple table cells. Numbers doesn't include a feature for that type of parsing.

  • Format bar inactive

The format bar is inactive-what am I missing?

    napauser,
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
When you say it's inactive, do you mean that clicking on the icons produces no effect, or that the icons are grayed out?

  • In Notes, I do not have a format bar. Under views there is no option to toggle this feature on or off. How then, can I set line spacing in documents? or is there some trick to getting the format bar that they say exists?

I want to be able to adjust line spacing in the Notes program. The help menu says that there is format bar and that I can choose this spacing. I do not have a format bar. They said that you can toggle this on and off under the View menu. I have not option in my dropdown that gives me an option to show or hide the format bar. Is there a reason why my version does not seem to have this feature?

Sorry for the wishy washy response but potential YES and possibly NO. Your user data should be intact but the OS may not be able to boot. You have a backup?

  • Where did the format bar go? How do I change a column to currency/percentage/ etc...?

The format bar in numbers 3.0 has been removed.  I need to change a column and/or row to either currency, text, percentage, etc...

    Hi jshmo,
You can do it this way.  Select the cells you want, click the Format brush upper right and this will appear in the panel at the right.  You may need to click the Cell tab.

  • Scroll bar missing on opening any website in firefox nightly 38.0a1

Vertical Scroll bar missing on opening any website in firefox nightly 38.0a1

On Mac the scroll bars can be hidden and only have them show when you scroll the page so you can see the current scroll position.
The idea is that a touch pad is used that doesn't require the scroll bars to be visible and thus have more screen estate for the browsing area.
You can make the scroll bars always visible:
System Preferences > General > Show Scroll Bar > Choose "Always"
You can try to delete the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

  • No FF button, no taskbar, must mouse over menu bar to see, Blekko search bar missing.

Firefox button suddenly missing. Taskbar missing, reappears when Windows button on keyboard pushed, then disappears after performing desired task (like adjusting computer volume). Menu bar missing, reappears when moused over, but no Firefox button or Blekko searchbar, just address bar, reload button, home, favorites, add to favorites button.

Firefox might be stuck in Full Screen mode. Use the F11 key to switch between full screen and normal modes.

  • Hide Format Bar, and or Ruler on Start:

I've tried looking through the forum here, and in the help files, but I must not be using the right words because I haven't found it yet. And I know it can be done because I've done it before.
I would like to have pages (numbers too, I guess), when it opens a new, blank, document (and all others, really) to not show the Format Bar, Tool Bar, Rulers and etc.
It was working, now all of a sudden...
    Any ideas?

    Rob,
I can't really address the "It was working, now all of a sudden..." part, but the other part is do-able. Since Pages doesn't offer global preferences to control the appearance of the format bar, tool bar and rulers, the way I'd approach it is by creating a blank template with all the stuff turned off that I don't want, with the styles I need, and the type face that looks the best. Then I'd do a File > Save As Template. You can go into Pages' preferences and have that template always start up whenever you load Pages.

  • How to have the format bar on top in pages

  • ITunes top menu bar missing?

    Hello All,
This may sound like a dumb question however I have tried everything, I think. The little bar at the top of iTunes which has the green, yellow, and green dots to minimize, maximize, and close as well as the play and next track buttons are missing from iTunes. They were there on this computer last week so I am assuming it is something I did. I also am unable to move the iTunes window around my desktop, like all other applications. This is only a minor inconvenience however with this top bar missing, I also do not have the search option for iTunes store.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance:)

It sounds as if your iTunes window got moved up until it is off of the screen. Change your display resolution until you can see all of it and move it. Then change the resolution back to the preferred setting.
