Format Business Graphic

Hi Gurus,
i have a litte problem with format of my business graphic. I used a simple series and set the format in the designer to 0,000.00 - it works for amounts greater zero. But otherwise (if the amount zero) the x-axis shoh the labe 000.00 - but i will show only 0.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Dynamic title in Business Graphics

Hi to all!
I'm working with a Business Graphics and I'd like a title in the final rendered graphic. The problem is that the text I want to show is not static, it's the name of the person who is using the application.
The question is: Can I bind the title of the graphic to a context attribute? or is it possible to pass parameters to the graphic?

We have achieved this thru....
1. If you navigate to src folder of your project... src\<package structure>...
in that there will be a file <viewname>.wdview file. Where <viewname> referes to the name of the view in which business graphics UI element is used.
2. Open that file with notepad, and you can see the structure of BusinessGrpahics UI element specified in xml format. In that copy what ever between <BusinessGraphics.CustomizingXML>...</BusinessGraphics.CustomizingXML> including these tags also.
3. In the wdModifyView method of view name obtain the Business Graphics UI element and set the Direct Customizing to the above copied xml(as a string)
String customXML = "<BusinessGraphics.CustomizingXML>....</BusinessGraphics.CustomizingXML>";
IWDBusinessGraphics bg = (IWDBusinessGraphics)view.getElement("<business graphics UI element ID>");
bg.setDirectCustomizing(customXML);
4. In that xml string, the value under <Elements> .. <ChartElements> .. <Title> .. <caption> points to the title. you can replace that with your dynamic value.

Hi All,
Iam using Business Graphics in Web dynpro ABAP, the output business graphics image to be export in PDF file. I have Customizing XML file in MIME object and CL_IGS_CHART_ENGINE class is there. But I dont know how to use that class in Web dynpro using Customizing XML as input or any other solution is there to get PDF file.
Please help me to get PDF File.

Hello,
I assume you can: get the data, pass data somewhere where the picture is generated, get the picture back in some useful/ common picture format. Now you need to create a PDF with the graphics.
1) go to transaction SFP - create an interface (just like DDIC structure, create a node/ element for every data element that will be passed to the form, if only picture, create a XSTRING element called PICTURE or something)
2) create a form in SFP based on the interface from 1)
3) drag interface data (left) and drop to right (form context)
4) open form layout
5) put image field on the layout (not image, it MUST be the image field)
6) goto tab Object - Binding of the image field, set the binding source to your XSTRING node from interface/context
7) save, activate
8) write a generator program for adobe form
9) run program
Note: I don´t know if you have any experience with adobe forms, I don´t know if you have ADS for adobe forms installed or even if you can have this service installed.

Business Graphics Tool - Series

Hello All,
I have developed a Graph using the Business Graphics charting tool. The application is a Web Dynpro application.
My graph has to display two lines (or range of values). In order to do that, I have created two Data Series, to which I pass values at run time. The Graph is appearing correctly.
How ever some of the values in both the series are the same. Hence the two lines criss-cross each other. At this point the values displayed on the graph becomes jumbled up.
I also saw an option for creating 'Series' objects. Here we can set whether the labels should appear on the left side of the line, its format etc. etc. But I am not finding a way to interlink the Series object, with the Data Series object. The setting would be like:-
Data Series 1 would be using Series Object 1 (in which the value labels would appear on the left side of the line)
Data Series 2 would be using Series Object 2 (in which the value labels would appear on the right side of the line)
Any help is appreciated. TIA

Hi,
the connection between your customizing settings and the data is done using a customizing ID, i.e. tell WD the ID of each series and use exactly the same ID in the chart designer when creating the customizing settings (please note that you can easily rename the default names as desired).

Hi Mahesh,
In Visual Administrator, go to the default property sheet & verify the igs url given there. It should be given in the format http://<server>:<igs port>
visual admin -server - services - Configuration adapter --- configuration ---webdynpro - sap.com - tcwddispwda -- property sheet default.
I am not aware of any other configurations that we need to do for running business graphics.

Business Graphics, Gantt, and how to

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to use the UI Element Business Graphics in order to create a Gantt chart. I am having trouble trying to determine how to set up the context and mapping for this. I am basically trying to create a Gantt chart that is similar to a Team Calendar in that entries on the vertical axis could have more than one entry on the line. I have looked at the example WDA programs that specify a Gantt chart, but none of them are doing a Gantt chart similar to a team calendar.
I currently have my context as follows.
Series (Node)
     Points (Node of Series)
          Values (Node of Points)
               Start Time (Attribute of Values)
                End Time (Attribute of Values)
     Description (Attribute of Series - This contains entries on the vertical axis. In a Team Calendar...this would be name)
     Label (Attribute of Series)
Is this the proper context set up for a Gantt chart similar to a team calendar? If this is correct, then does someone also have recommendations on how to bind the attributes in the "Values" node since this is a nested node?
One last question, does anyone know of any WDA program (standard) that is doing a Gantt chart similar to this? It would be helpful to look at an example.

The Gantt UI element in those two examples seem to be a bit overkill for what I am trying to accomplish; however, I welome any feedback on utilizing the Gantt UI element. This problem I saw with that (other than it being too much for what I am trying to do) is how/what must be done to get your data formated properly in order to bind it to the Gantt UI Element.

Creating Gantt charts using Business Graphics that can be downloaded

The short version is I need the format for XML data to create a Gantt chart in a Business Graphics UI Element in order to be able to automatically email it. The long version is...
I currently have a Web Dynpro ABAP component that displays a Gantt chart using a Business Graphics UI Element based off data in various other UI elements in the view.
This works fine and the graph displays nicely, but I cannot find a way to download that straight from the Business Graphics UI Element. Having read around the forum there appears to be two options:
- Code it up myself by calling methods on the IGS API directly
- Bind the image data attribute on the element and get the data that way
Unfortunatly, we are not currently running a recent enough version (702/720) to be able to do the latter and so, unless there is another way, I need to code up the API calls myself.
So far I have got a business graphic in to an Adobe PDF form, loaded in my config data so it appears as a Gantt chart but I cannot figure out the format for the actual data that needs to be sent through in XML. Does anyone have example XML data or code to generate it that can be sent in to the call:
l_igs_ce->set_data( EXPORTING data_doc = p_ixml_doc ).
I have used the example in GRAPHICS_IGS_CE_TEST and the page http://liualex.com/archives/185 to generate the image and load the config data in but this only explains the XML format of the chart data for bar graphs.

This is the SAP Chart Designer, it contains a PDF which explains the XML format used, you can use it to manually create your own XML streams.

Problem with Gantt table (Business graphic)

Hi everybody,
I got a problem with an gantt table (Business graphic) in an old project. This gantt table is used to display the timeline of used ressources. The Problem here his that, if the last row of the gantt table is filled, this row will not be displayed correctly. The line will only be filled up half of the height the row has and the row will be divided by a horizontal black line.
If somebody has an idea about fixing this problem, that will be great.

Business Graphics - Gantt: How to customize?

Hi!
I followed this tutorial (https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-35515 - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/a8/1cd93f5e0f9015e10000000a155106/frameset.htm) and the final result is looking very different. This is because the customizing steps aren't explained in detail. Is there a complete tutorial for this or can anybody help with more information about the customizing?
I have set the chart type to gantt. On the left side i can see the user names, but they are not categorized according to their team, the team is also listed like the other users etc. etc.
Any hint for this topic?

Coloumn Graph with Business Graphics

1) I am using WebDynpro business graphics stacked column graph, in that i need to show Label values. I am getting my Label value but and on the top of the columns i am getting 0 number.
I want to remove the 0 number.
I set the Defaultseries format value is 0 and even i kept empty i am getting the 0 value on the top of the columns.
Please can one suggest me what property i need to set

Static Business Graphic to Adobe Form

There is a View with an static BGR binding to a node.
At runtime I can see the graphic.
When I press a button is launched another view with an Interactive Form.
So, my question is:
Is there a method (or something) that let me create the XSTRING wiht the graphic automatically, that I will use in the node binding to the Interactive Form?

I think with Netweaver 7.02/7.20, business Graphics UI element is provided with a property called imageData. Using this property you receive the image of the chart rendered, in a XSTRING format. this can be passed on to interactive form to display the chart.
Might be we can wait for other experts to comment on this.

Appearance of business Graphics

I have three business graphics which I formatted as pies. When I start the application on my computer (where I programmed the application) I can see all three pies.
But when when my colleague starts the application on his computer there are no pies but columns.

Refresh the Business Graphics Data on click of next page event of a table

Hi Experts,
We are using Business Graphics UI element in Web dynpro Java to display a table data.
We are limiting the graphics data to 12 table entries at a time.
Now, I just want to know how can we refresh the Business Graphics data when the user clicks on the Next Page option at the bottom of the table.
This is applicable if we have more than 12 table entries and we've restricted the visible row count to 12.
So, for more than 12 entries; when the user selects the next page, I want the next set of data to be displayed in the Business Graphics UI element.
But I am not able to get the action for the Next Page event.
Please note that we are on Netweaver 7.01.
Kindly suggest as how can we achieve this functionality.

Business Graphics - Bar Chart - How to make the height extendable

Hi Experts,
I have created Business Graphics UI element for my WD application which fetches data from R/3. I am displaying
1) Cost Element in Y-axis and Cost in X-axis.
2) I have set ChartType = Bar, height = 300, width = 830
When the no of cost elements is upto 7-8, the graph is getting displayed correctly.
However when the no of cost elements increases to more than 12, the graph becomes un readable. The system displays lot of texts in Y-axis.
I want to make sure that if no of cost elements increases, the Y-axis of graph should extend.
How we can do so?

I could not got any solution of this issue. Finally I convinced the customer to display only top 10 records. Any way higher level managers won't have time to see the graphs of all data.
One way of resolving the issue is like this - create say 3 Business Graphic UI element. The height of Business Graphic UI element can be set as 300, 600, 900 etc.
For 10 records use Business Graphic UI element of height 300.
For 20 records use Business Graphic UI element of height 600.
For 30 records use Business Graphic UI element of height 900.
Use the 'Visibility' data type to hide / unhide the Business Graphic UI of different height.

Edit customisation in Business graphics is not working

Hi Experts,
I created business graphic UI element of chart type "Speedo meter" . I am trying to chnage the colors of the chart by using
'EDIT CUSTOMISATION' .When i change the clors in preview colors are chnaging but when i test my application it is nit showing the whatever i did in edit customisation ( ni color change ) . Please tell me do i need to configure anything ?
