Format of my i-pod nano

Is possible change the format of my i-pod nano (second generaction,2GB)? When i connect my i-pod to my mac os x i reed "Format: windows". Is possible change this format? With this format i can't update my i-pod!

To change the format of your iPod from Window to Mac, just restore your iPod in iTunes.
(If you want it formatted for Mac OS X, then restore the iPod through iTunes on your Mac. If you'd like it Windows-formatted, then restore the iPod in iTunes on your PC.)

my i-pod nano plays half a song then just stops and then turns its self off !!

I have the same problem on many songs in my 8GB NAno.
Many Songs in my Nano do not play completely. These songs played ok on my PCs and on my 20G iPod. The bad songs would play for several seconds to couple of minutes, then the play back would stop and my Nano would jump to the next song. Those bad songs were ripped from my own CDs and not downloaded from the web.
Note that I have used 2 versions of iTunes (7.0x) and 3 version of iPod software. They are all in MP3 format and less than 5 minutes long.
I have reset & restored the Nano and reload all the songs (about 7.4G in my 8G NANO). The problem remains. I have purchased another 8G Nano and reload all the songs. The problem remains. I have reset the new Nano and reload the songs using the USB cable from my iPod, the problem remains. All the 'bad' songs would play OK in my PCs and iPod.
As this is my second Nano and third USB cable used to transfer the song, the only remaining causes of the problem is the Dell PC or the Nano firmware/ software.
Out of the the 7GB of music in my Nano, I estimate there may be over 100 songs that are bad (as I have not play thru all of my songs). I do not think it is worth my time to re-rip all the bad songs from my CDs, so the only 2 things left to do is to restore the Nano and reload the song from my desk top PC; Or return the Nano to Apple.
Any ideas or suggustions?

Depending on what view you have on is where your iPod nano will show up. If it is the new view, then it will be in the right hand corner next the iTunes Store button. If you have the sidebar enabled then it will be where you would expect it. If it is in neither spot, then check out the article below to get it to show up on your computer.

my i pod nano click wheel has stopped working. My i pod still works when in my docking station but the wheel doesn't. Anyone got any ideas what I can do? I've tried to restore settings but that hasn't worked.

I-pod nano 1st gen not recognized by computer

We took this in to the apple store and had the i-pod restired, but neither of our computers (Windows XP) will recognize the i-pod nano now. It has been giving us problems for the last month, and when it did last work, it would only allow 6 songs to be stored.
Any ideas?

If they restored the iPod in the store, they used a Mac.

How do I get music onto my i pod nano 7th gen

I am going out of my mind. I purchased over 200 songs via itunes and can not get them on to my i pod nano 7th gen no matter what ai try--- All my music is also srored in my i cloud--- Does any one know how to move it from the i cloud to the 7th gen i pod nano?
Help Help Help --- I am ready to throw this thing in the river, as I can't get any of the music I have paid for on it.   All my music automatically downloads to my i phone S via Wi-Fi, I don't have to plug in to itunes or synch-- the music just "appears"----magic???

If you're trying to transfer the music, from the Nano to the Air, you have to either download your purchased songs again in the purchased tab of iTunes or sync them to the Air, using iTunes on your computer.
Its been a few years since I've used a Nano, but IIRC, the only way to get the music on the device to begin with is by syncing with iTunes, so the songs have to be in your iTunes library.

My i-pod nano 1st gen click wheel will not work i have tried restoring,restarting and all the 5 r's but still nothing has happened... there has to be a solution out there somewhere o yea i have also tried taking out the gunk in the click wheel but nothing HELP!

Version in the nano is 1.1; iTunes is 6.0.4.2.
This silly thing "healed itself" the next morning (?!), worked fine for two days, and decided to show the same symptoms this evening, then began working fine again.
Whether it is working or not I can feel the click of the wheel but unit shows no response when the problem is manifesting. So if I am having the problem I can press the wheel any which way for as long as I like and nothing happens -- screen does not light up, unit doesn't scroll, play/pause gives no response, etc.

I will try am explain what I see: I hooked up my I Pod Clicked on Music checked Sync Music 1909 Songs select Playlist, Artists, albums, and genres checked Include music videos Playlists checked 50's Music checked 70's Music checked 80's Music checked 90's Music checked 2000 Music checked 2010 Music These are songs that I downloaded onto my I Tunes. What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?

USB cable for i-pod nano 3rd generation

I recently bought a new i-pod 3rd gen and used my USB cable for the i-pod classic 80 GB which seemed to be working fine.But after when I tried to use the original USB cable for the i-pod nano it wouldn't connect to the i-pod.
Does anyone know whether it is OK to use the cable for the i-pod classic and why the original cable does not fit with my i-pod nano?
